hi guys. i am running slimbean 4.2.2 latest version. i just upgraded the kernel from stock to kangbang 2.0. everything runs perfectly except changing vibration intensity. with this kernel, i noticed that stweaks installed and checked there is no setting for vibration intensity. also when i want to change it in settings/advanced/haptic, the vibration strength option is blurred. is there any way to change it.
p.s. sorry for bad english
It says in the kangbang thread that it's not recommended to run v2 on anything below android 4.3. That's possibly where you're issues are coming from.
As far as your specific question goes, I'm not sure sorry. Just needed to mention that v2 is intended for 4.3.

Hello
I have Motorola RAZR XT910. Used in EU, no sim/carrier lock, about 6 months ago updated OTA to 4.1.2 Android version 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.EU. It is GSM version.
I have few questions:
1. In forum downloads, there are 2 verions available: spyder and umts_spyder. Which one is in my EU selled Motorola Razr with XT910 name?
2. What is the latest OTA Android? 4.3? How and where I can dowload this? Phone-settings-about phone-system updates tells me that I am up to date. Which one is working great? Maybe link if there is something newer them my 4.1.2 OTA.
3. How about other ways to go 4.3 or 4.4. Installing ROMs? Going CM 10 or CM 11?
If the last one, then which one is good and stable to use?
I need, that the camera works, video works, caling works, sms works, 2G and 3G works, wifi works, bluetooth works, GPS works ang Google Maps and Syngic and Waze etc. are all usable.
And with all ROMs I can go from my 4.1.2 directly to (example, like) CM11, and it works?
If I go CM11, can always install again and again different verions what I want? Like when I am in CM11 to go back to CM11 or to 4.3 Android?
Why I think about rooting and CM? Because of the short battery usage at the moment, different disturbing adds on screen and cool apps for rooted phones.
Sorry, I am not updates/upgraded my Android before and no rooting and CM, this is new to me, and would like to ask before and maybe get some links, would like to upgrade sucessfuly the first time.
Thank you.

Yeah man keep calm
1-you are in europa use umts_spyder
2-lastest ota for razr 4.1.2 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231289
3-u can get 4.4.2 with cm 11,gummy slimkat or mookee roms in dev section (follow every step from the developer)
you can always go back to stock 4.1.2 see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47502301#post47502301
remeber only stock is full work,cm have no 1080p rec in video,no hdmi..
but the greatest thing of the razr is that you can flash at the same time 5 roms
all you have to do is get rooted and install a recovery (BMM in play store,or ss in xda theme and app forum)
So you can leave your stock rom in a safe place, without delete every thing, and try new roms in other partition system
If you are a noob use SS ( SAFESTRAP) more easy and disasterproof

I would recommend CM 11. I've been running it for over a month and it is stable (only major gripe is that you can't install apps on the SD card at the moment). New features are coming through in the nightlies as well. With regards to the previous post, 1080p is now working with the latest nightly.
Hi
Thanks.
I took the step and went to 4.4.
First, I had to root the device (original OTA 4.1.2). When rooted, then safestrap. Then files on phone and restart. Installed everything like in youtube video example. Booted up and everything worked.
So now, I am on Kitkat 4.4.2 CM11. Works great so far. No freezes, it is quite quick.
---
Sometimes I see, that when I press screen off button, screen turn itself back on again for like 0,5 to 3 seconds and then it shuts screen off again. The last part-my finger is removed from the on/off button. Sometimes it does this, sometimes not. Strange.
---
But my biggest concern is battery. About 85 to 90 % of battery drain is by CyanogenMod Account, and android os like 5% and screen 4%.
Why so much? Still I have to charge like once a day. I thought, when this account isn't draining so much juice from battery, maybe it last like 48 hours with one charge.
when I open account, then CPU is 0s, awake 0s, but GPS is taking all the battery. Is it normal? Or there is something wrong? I don't need location finder from cuanogenmod web site from PC.
Under settings-accounts there is an option, that delete CM account. What it does then, when I delete it or log out? Phone stops working?

The best/most stable ROM threads are not permitted on xda. Please refrain yourself from asking that.

The screen flicker is a persistent bug related to the display drivers. You can disable the lock animation and it should be fine.
If you don't want to use the CM account, you can remove it. Also if your battery drain is cause of GPS.Keep it to Battery Saver mode or turn it off completely and use it only when you need.
Hi All
Long story short, my phone broke and samsung fixed it under warrantee. They returned it with the vodaphone 4.3 flavor OS which was bloated to bursting point with all the crap-ware they add. So naturally the phone was dead slow, which prompted me to flash it to the 4.3 BTU. The phone is quite fast now, but the updates don't work so I'm stuck with those dreaded initial 4.3 software bugs, wifi connectivity & battery drain to name just 2.
I'd like to know if there are any decent & stable 4.4 ROMs available? I have tried CM11 earlier this year, but that didn't work to well, it was quite buggy.
I'd love to be able to install the 4.4.x BTU, but as far as I can tell, it hasn't been released (yet?).
Advice would be great.
Thanks!

I never expirienced any strange bugs like eith new 4.3 uodates, try using some great custom 4.3 roms out here, like archidroid, neatrom, arhd etc. Just search and try, combine it with a custom kernel and your phone will be reborned.
4.4.x ism't and won't be released for s3, because, well, samsung is $#&*, but you have note2 4.4 ports, like QS kitkat Archiport, and s5 themed like Blekota etc. But these 4.4 ports are having graphical glitches which occur for some, for some not, but as I see, Lord Boeffla updated his Boeffla kernel and in new updates graphical glitches are gone, battery life is much better and wifi direct and screen mirroring are working.
So if you want best stability go with custom 4.3, if you want to test out the kitkat experience which should be good now if combined with Boeffla kernel then go with some 4.4 port.
And don't forget, best rom threads are not allowed and will be closed by moderator, you should try what xda world has to offer and then decide.

How do I load a custom kernel? I've only ever flashed with Odin and then that was just the ROM.
Just as a matter of interest, 4.4 has been released for the S3 on certain carriers.
Flash the kernel through your custom recovery.
Only the versions of the s3 which have 2gb of ram have kitkat..other versions do not including the international version

Just as Pulseuser mentioned, 4.4 is released only for i9305 LTE variant of s3.
About custom kernel, the easiest method is to root your phone using cf-autoroot, just google cf auto root and download the .tar.md5 for Odin for i9300 S3. Then when your phone is rooted download ROM Manager from playstore and install Clockwork Mod recovery, then reboot to the recovery via rom manager app and choose install zip from sdcard, fin your custom kernel/rom or whatever you want to flash and then tap yes and reboot, but first copy your custom kernel/rom on sdcard.
It is very easy, you even have tutorials on youtube on how to flash something via CWM recovery.
Anyone looking for a descent kernel for your stock Verizon KitKat Rom head over to LG G3 original android development and check out Rin Kernel 1.8.5 took me awhile to find it and where I downloaded it their was less than 10 downloads has a 2.7ghz overclock and seemed to speed my phone up so check it out and if you like it don't be afraid to donate lol our kernel selection is small!!!!

About to flash
I have been downloading and installing and downloading..... Reading and researching!!! I have an unlimited data plan so let's face it I kick the hell out of it. I like to watch movies a lot on showbox or on cartoon HD threw mhl HDMI to my TV (mirrored). I can't stand touchwiz ROMs and I also like to have the latest even if its on my sgs3. I love this phone. Anyways after loads of messing around installing loads of different ROMs I realized the truth is that only Sammy tw ROMs have the USB drivers. This was all because I read on some post somewhere that said they had a custom ROM and a touchwiz launcher and to use mhl they simply boot the tw launcher for mhl use only and then back to Google launcher as a daily driver. Post didn't say which custom ROM they where using and/or if they had a custom kernel installed. So that's what set me of trying to conker making it work and my solution to this problem is "arter97 kernel" plus dual boot.zip plus back to noot ROM and I really do like the resurrection remix ROMs. I like the new marshmallow 6.1 but the arter97kernel doesn't support this so I settled for RR lollipop 5.1.1 v5.5.9 as the first ROM. installed this as per normal protocol and then flash the arter97 kernel using twrp recovery. I used v4.1 kernel because it has load more customizations than v5 for ex. Over clocking to 1800mhz and more Governors etc. Now arters back to noot kitkat 4.4.4 is very stable very good ROM. So once the first aosp ROM is OK and stable with the kernel (make sure you flash superSU) boot back into recovery and flash the dual boot zip and anything flashed during that visit to the recovery goes to the 2nd ROM partition. Next flash the back to boot ROM and superSU and boot back into 1st ROM (automatically) but don't wipe cache/dalvic/data (this will just wipe from the 1st ROM). Now the aswitch app will work to boot into the 2nd ROM. And because you flashed the superSU into 2nd ROM the aswitch will work to allow you back to the 1st ROM!!!! Every time you want to flash to 2nd ROM use the dual boot zip first. Because the back to boot kk 4.4.4 ROM already has arter97 kernel don't flash the kernel zip just leave it and it will have the same arter97 kernel once booted. If you flash the kernel to 2nd ROM it will just cause lag and instability The only problem I have had is whilst using this whole configuration is when inserting the mhl lead into sgs3 it freezes and/or shutdown. After a little tweaking I figured out it was a CPU issue and to enable the mhl and showbox use I used atweaks config app and changed Max over clock CPU to 1704mhz and governor setting to performance!!! Now this profile makes the CPU stick at 1704mhz permanently. This method works but unfortunately also creates massive battery drain so I have also been messing with the USB charge/power variables. But do be careful if you follow any instructions on this post as I am not responsible for a bricked divice so make sure you do your homework. This arter97 kernel is EOL @v5 for the sgs3 so versions 4.1 and 5 are only compatible for lollipop 5.1.1 so always read changelogs. Many thanks to arter97 for this dual boot and customisable kernel and ported ROM.
