It just has contacts on the sides inside, it doesn't actually go through into the mainboard.

There was another thread somewhere with a guy who showered with it. I'd be at least a little worried about the heat though.
I would love to take it in the shower but I won't be the first to try it. So I hope someone else tries it, lol.

Even though it's been proven that it withstands water, I still won't be purposely getting my phone wet. I think it's there more as a safety net, rather than a 'feature'.

Haha This.
I've taken it in the shower and played music, dropped it in the hot tub at the gym, took it in the suana and all without a hiccup. This thing is a beast!
Edit: Just found videos on youtube of being fully submerged for an hour, running through the washing machine etc etc...

Has anyone else had any splits in the sides? Mine has a small split next to the glass near the speaker. But it's in the plastic rim, not the glass. Any similar problems?

i picked up my optimus g from bestbuy and it also have the gap. I went back and looked at another lg optimus. It also had the same gap. So, I decided to hold on to the first one!
What a weak gorilla. Dropped once on accident and screen shattered. Very disappointed. Work phone too so replacement comes out if my pocket.

Works great for me. Even the mod to unlock the full graphics.
When I got my s4 I was amazed at the pictures, now that I have got my hands on the s5 I'm astonished at the pictures! I've only gotten to play with the camera a few hours yesterday because I was with my girlfriend, but here's two of my favorite.

Took it off. But it shouldn't matter. It's got a cut out and as long as it's placed correctly it won't interfere
