This ROM is now built using the latest linaro 4.7.4 toolchain and comes with a modified aosp kernel. My kernel source can be found here.
The ROM is compatible with other aosp based kernels.
I have also added QuickBoot, this enables you to power the device on/off in 1-2 seconds and puts it into hibernation.
This can be disabled in developer settings.

And recent changes I have made can be found here.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've made a few changes to the device trees and to allow them to build I have posted my source complete with a local manifest for thos who would like to build ROM for themselves.
You can view my work by clicking here.
If you would like to build this ROM just run the following comand to import my local manifest (after you have set up the build environment and performed a repo init ofcoarse).
You can fin a guide for your device Here
Code:
wget -O ~/android/system/.repo/local_manifests/bruce2728_manifest.xml https://raw.github.com/bruce2728/local_manifest/kitkat-mr0/bruce2728_manifest.xml
Once you have done that simply run a 'repo sync' to pull in my repos.
If you use any of this to make your own ROM please let me know and give me a mention in your thread.
Donations are always welcome but in no way required.

Let me know how it works for you, I don't have the device, I'm still stuck with my N4.
1 person has told me it works so far.
You should be able to flash any aosp based kernel over this ROM.
Edit: forgot to rename system/bin/mpdecision
I'll upload another build in 5, if you already have the ROM installed just add -bck to the file name and reboot.

WiFi not working for me. And media volume is always at maximum, even if I put it all the way down. The volume rocker has no effect on media sound, and neither does changing it in settings.

I'll clean my build dir and compile again, I build 4 ROMs at once so maybe an overlay has stuck from another device somewhere.
Did you try flashing an aosp based kernel?

PAC-man ROMs
CandyKat ROMs
houst0nn
arcardinal
mathsz
zymphad
ronasimi
AK
and everyone else working hard on the LGOG
Bugs:
I use these as daily drivers. I can't code at all, so squashing bugs is tough. Let me know and I'll try.
Installation:
You have to have been on stock 4.1.2 or LGNPST'd to it or teenybined your RPM/TZ partitions. Search or ask if you don't know what that's about.
Do a nandroid backup
Wipe: data, system, cache, dalvik
Flash PAC-man ROM
Flash GApps
reboot
restore apps and app data using TB or your another backup application if desired
Downloads:
PAC-geeb 10/13/14
CandyKat-geeb 10/13/14
To flash I recommend using my TWRP 2.8.1 build.
I would use the BaNkS 4.4.4 minimal Gapps.
I use the AT&T Jellybean radio.
Kernels:
AK geeb kernels for CM and AOSP mako based ROMS:
AK.360.geeb-cm.zip
AK.360.geeb-aosp.zip
AK gee kernels:
AK.360.gee-cm.zip
AK.360.gee-aosp.zip
To maximize the capabilities of these kernels, flash:
UKM,
install the Synapse app from the playstore,
and remove or disable Trickstermod, Faux control, or any in-ROM kernel control apps and settings.
If WiFi doesn't work after flashing the kernel, try flashing the Revert_4.4.3_Wifi_Fix.zip. It may fix WiFi on 4.4.2 ROMs and 4.4.4 ROMs that don't have the updated mako WiFi drivers.
These kernels won't work on gproj or E970 official ROMs based on gproj device sources. Ask me, your ROM dev, or just about any other experienced member on here if you don't know about compatibility.

They are both feature rich Roms. I wouldn't call either one vanilla...there are lots of things in both that are not in vanilla AOSP Roms. To me, it appears that Beanstalk uses CM and then modifies stuff, and PAC modifies from AOKP. I'm pretty much judging this from the layout of the system menu. Both are very feature loaded...similar but not identical feature sets. Beanstalk has a newer pie implementation. PAC has PAs per app DPI settings instead of using xposed for that.

Good point. Maybe vanilla wasn't the best descriptor. I meant there wasn't much on top of the AOSPA/CM/AOKP features.

Gotcha. Yep, I'd agree with that description.
From what I've seen, PACman, BeanStalk and RootBox are all pretty much different ways to "interpret" a hybrid of CM/AOKP/PA. The major stuff is pretty much all there in all of them, but each one has areas where the Dev prefers one implementation of something over another. It's really personal preference, I think, that determines which one is better for a given user.
Has anyone downloaded the 9-1 build? The filehost says 0 downloads for some reason.

Only glitch I ran into was weather panel not displaying correctly in notification panel, buy I had messed with clearing data for Google services framework and apparently broke GPS while doing so. More than likely I caused the problem.

FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK
THE DEV TEAM IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE YOU CAUSE TO YOUR PHONE
** Please be aware some builds may not work, and be patient with the Vanir team as they continue to sort stuff out **
DIRECTIONS
Boot to Recovery
BACKUP
Wipe System/Data/Davlik/Cache
Install Rom
Install Gapps
Wipe Davlik/Cache
Profit!
°°For those flashing custom kernels°°
Be aware- Vanir includes a script that enables their own kernel tweaks. This script does not play well with flashing custom kernels. The solution!
Flash ROM
Navigate to- /system/etc/init.d/
Delete the file- 00kernelcompat
Reboot to recovery
Flash kernel
Profit!
You can also open the ROM zip on your PC before flashing and remove the file from the same directory then flash the ROM and you're good to flash the kernel.
**If you dirty flash between nighties, DO NOT wipe system or data before flashing the ROM. It will wipe gapps and the ROM install script won't be able to restore them**
That said, a clean flash is always recommended

So I finally updated my old kernel sources, originally from chadouming by way of haze028. This is a mako based CM kernel, with lots of cherry-picks from xboxfanj's matr1x and glitch.
Built with the linaro 02/14 4.8 toolchain, and I'll be including it in an unofficial CM-11.0 M4 that I'll post in the other development subforum later tonight or tomorrow. It's smooth.
Please don't flash on non-CM based ROMs
I'm not responsible if this bricks your phone, eats your kids, or steals your wife.
FEATURES:
Low cpu frequencies
Wheatley governor default
SIO scheduler default
MSM_SLEEPER: limits max frequency to 364 MHz with screen off
Kernel mode NEON
a lot of optimizations... look at the commits on github if you're curious!

Volume button key is easy, using a root file manager go into system/usr/keylayout/keypad_8064.kl, and swap the top two values:
key 115 VOLUME_DOWN WAKE
key 114 VOLUME_UP WAKE
It's a known issue with the LED patch I'm using, and it's fixed in my CM ROM. The error 7 is probably just an assert issue... Could you keep an eye on wakelocks, I think it's a 4.4 issue but I'm going to ask if people are seeing a wakelock with mediaserver or audiomix. I've seen a bunch of threads on XDA which makes me think it's not my kernel...
Ok will do thanks I fixed they keys.

This kernel has the cm video commits, and I'm not sure it'll work on PAC. Also official cm for e970 uses gproj so that's a no go
I've seen some people replaying that it worked on pacman rom but ok whatever at least I didn't brick my phone
Photosphere works with this kernel and CM11?

This won't work with official CM, so no. I have an unofficial mako based CM-11 that has working photosphere.

About
The roms posted here have been compiled with Linaro just for fun and for me to learn a bit more about Android. There will be mostly no changes from the original roms and all credit is due and must be given to the respective devs. They will be updated after original devs do their release so that it does not interfere with their work.
Instructions
If coming from any other rom:
Reboot to recovery
Wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache
Install ROM
Install Gapps
Install SuperSu (or your preference)
Reboot and win!
You can "dirty flash" on top of a previous release of Mahdi or Carbon unless specified!

[*]Purity Linaro Purity (updated 8/13) Discontinued
[*]Purity Plus+ Purity+ (updated 8/27) Discontinued

Please remember that these builds are made for my personal satisfaction and in no way are they made to try to overshadow anyone. Thank you for your time and Enjoy!
Also please take the time to give thanks to the original creators of the roms! They deserve it!

What's better about Linaro/Sabermod builds?

Linaro and SaberMod are both toolchains used throughout the build process, the PC uses these to compile the ROM and kernel in their respective order, the idea behind it, although a lot of ppl will say its a placebo effect, is that by using these optimized toolchains it speeds up the build process and optimizes the builds by streamlining the code therefore lightening the bulk of code that's compiled, depending on the device and ROM/kernel is whether or not results are seen by the end user, generally speaking they are used to optimize performance throughout the build..

So you need linaro/sabermod kernel and roms? And why is releasing them when there are no using benefits?

yes he is.
hey man waiting for your new build of carbon rom.
Been using this since you released it.
As stable as Mahdi, but seems a bit more responsive.
PA hover is not working for me, I'm using Mahdi's ROM.

Hover has never had any issues. It's working as it should. Try the above recommendation.

Carbon bumped up to 4.4.4 on 6/20, this was built on 6/19. What a difference a day makes!

This is AOKP for Huawei Nexus 6P based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1!
Read: The unicorn eats marshmallows and farts rainbows
Reading that gave me goosebumps - my favourite ROM returning from the grave to support the latest Android version. So I went on and built myself AOKP. I am no developer, just your fellow XDA member, who knows how to compile a ROM and a bit about its structure.
What works:
RIL
WiFi
ROM Control
.
.
.
I am testing further, was so eager that didn't even test it.
What doesn't work?
You tell me :victory:

I hope you already know what to do. But if you still need help, read below.

If there are bugs and you notice them, provide me a logcat (It will contribute to further development), and make sure that you are using the kernel delivered by this ROM itself.

Du is ok. Lots of freezing and hanging on newest build
Newest DU is rocksolid here. But I guess I'm one of the very few that actually wipes everything when installing or testing new Roms[emoji14]

I did a very clean flash, and it ran good for me but it was a little while ago. I could see why they would want to keep a ROM off of XDA while it might still be buggy, because the amount of people complaining about it would be a PITA, no matter what they state in the OP...

@DJBhardwaj well I'm going to say thanks for the rom and not talk about du what had nothing to do with this thread

Is that a DRI sticker on top of a Grateful Dead sticker in your avatar? Not sure I'd want what you're smoking!
Tap'd it
Has anyone here tried flashing the official nightly? Everything went smoothly in TWRP, but it's been sitting on the Google boot logo for some time now (about 5 -8 minutes). Not sure if this is a sign that it's not functional yet, doesn't have its own boot animation in the current state, or something else.

I used open gapps and it didn't boot for me either. MMB29Q

I personally got it to boot in 2-3 minutes using OpenGApps. However on the first boot, after optimizing apps, it did take a few seconds showing "Loading contact storage".

Select Platform as ARM64, Android version as 6.0, and download any variant as per your requirement. I prefer Mini or Micro packages since others are bloated.
