Signal connecting and disconnecting after flashing rom (can't find any solution) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So after flashing Cyanogen 10.2 on my galaxy S3 (which previously had 4.2 jellybean stock rom installed) I had no service and an unknown IMEI and basband. I went into root browser and replaced the current EFS folder with one I Had backed up a couple of days ago which was 100% working fine. after a quick restart the signal bar at the top has no signal for about 30 seconds then gets signal for 10 seconds. If I go into setting and phone status during the period of signal I have network 02-uk network type-hsdpa and my phone number stays unknown and my imei is being shown correctly during both signal periods.
I cannot find a similar issue anywhere else at all and as im fairly new to all this I'm completely stuck.
I have a backup of my old rom (which wont flash due to status 7 error)
I 'd rather keep this rom if possible though.
Many thanks

[Q] note 2 not making calls cant send text after cm 10.1

i installed cm 10.1 and since doing so ive had service related issues doesnt matter what rom i run since this morning. so i had a stock note 2 from verizon i used odin and the backatcha and casual packcage to root and unlock the boot loader. from there i installed touch clockword recovery mod. i then proceeded to install cm 10.1 noting i had already ran clean rom and jelly beans rom before this. no call or texting issues, still had horrible bluetooth volume and had to keep switching from bluetooth to phone to keep bluetooth working during call. i was hoping all those issues had been resolved with cm 10.1 not the case bluetooth volume is loud but to much distortion. the big problem im having right now is after flasing cm 10.1 and then going back to stock rooted rom or jelly beans rom or clean rom my phone and text service isnt working unless im in a really high signal area. had the sim card swapped out reflashed back to stock rom bootloader and still horrible service near my house and in my house. the service problems i never had before flashing cm 10.1. my imei is still intact and correct my phone number is still correct. ive tried changing network settings the whole deal, what gives ? anyone have any info that can help me ?

[Q] Dead Radio

So after initially getting the S4, I couldn't wait for a ROM to come out so I didn't have to run TouchWhiz. Needless to say when I seen some ROMs starting to appear, I flashed some with no hesitation.
I flashed the following before encountering any problems -
garwynn's - AOSPA Beta followed by CM 10.1 (POC)
Everything on those ROMs was pretty much perfect, no errors or glitches in anything I used the phone for, so after a day or two I was feeling pretty confident about the current releases thus far. I seen the thread for SlimBean this morning and flashed it with no problems
The ROM loaded up just fine, instantly obtained 4g signal with full bars and everything seemed pretty much good to go. About a half hour into it my signal indicator went to "Roaming". I figured it was just a glitch in the ROM not properly displaying the signal indicator as it should. My data was working fine, so I just assumed all was well. I switched the indicator to the text / dB style which showed a pretty constant "-72 / 80" It didn't come to me that I could not call or text for about two hours...
Needless to say, I tried to put the phone on "CMDA only" "EVDO only" and pretty much any combination besides "GSM only" in the Phone Information section after dialing *#*#4636#*#*. I tried turning the radio off an on. Still nothing would work....so I dirty flashed SlimBean over itself. Didn't work, flashed the following ROM-
Beans' Stock ROM (Odexed)
Loaded up fine, had 4g but still couldn't call. I tried flashing the CM 10.1 ROM as well with the same problem. When I got home I put the phone in download mode and flashed the stock image (link) hoping that it would solve my problem. It didn't.
I'm currently sitting here as stock as I'm aware I can be with no working voice / text on my radio. Data works fine, as does everything else. My IMEI matches what is on the label under the battery. Everything looks normal to me except the IMEISV which currently reads "00".
I'm not too worried about this as of this moment as I know the SIM card is good, it works in my SIII and my other phones. I'm just not sure if this is a fixable problem or not.
Thanks,
-clay
Odin back to stock and go get your phone exchanged.
Solution
I'm glad to report that I did in fact manage to fix this problem. Hopefully this can help others.
*DISCLAIMER* - I am not claiming this is 100% full proof, nor am I able to explain why this worked.
However it may be useful to others....
After doing a bit of research I came to the conclusion that my EFS wasn't completely corrupt because I still had my IMEI intact on the phone. The best I could come up with was that my files / data for SIM card provisioning weren't correct / corrupt. Thus I tried the following:
1) Odin stock image.
2) Odin MD2 kernel and root via Motochopper.
3) Install Root Explorer and Terminal.
4) Copied my EFS folder and placed it elsewhere. (Never used this copy but could be useful somehow?)
5) Renamed EFS to something random. *Probably very dumb to do* Deemed necessary after some reading.
6) Phone rebooted into Factory Mode.
7) Executed the following command
Code:
su
echo -n ON >/eds/FactoryApp/factory mode
8) Rebooted Phone.
9) Odin Stock Image.
10) Odin MD2 kernel and root via Motochopper.
11) Flashed TWRP.
12) Boot recovery and run Fix Permissions.
13) Rebooted, powered down phone, pulled battery and SIM for about 10 minutes and then reinstalled SIM, powered on.
14) Odin stock MDK kernel back to phone.
To my surprise in a minute or so I locked on to a signal and could make calls / text. 4g was working as it was previously. I'm not sure if all steps are necessary but after a few attempts at various things, this method proved to work.
I'm back on SlimBean and everything seems to be working smoothly.
Glad you got it back up and running! Nice to see a community member work around and solve the issue. Many times a device ends up back to the carrier when all thats needed is a little trial and error with various fixes. Sure the carrier will replace the device, but this is why some carriers lock them down e.g. verizon/att.
nice job :good:
Glad you figured it out, but as an FYI, my IMEISV reads 00 and I have no issues, so this seems normal.

Help unknown baseband no imei no signal on shw-m250s

So my phone is shw-m250s T (I don't know but like there's Olleh version this one has T logo on it so it may help)
My phone was first on 2.3.5 perfectly working without no problem but only volume button not working so i got those fixed and this whole adventure began. Since i was able to go into download mode and flash things i wanted to convert my phone to i9100 so i did using this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24705250
Then later i learned that there's freakin 4.0.4 ICS official update on my phone so i freaking installed it and this all started from here.
First i was getting random signal lose and sometimes no signal always but i didn't take it seriously coz reboot was temporarily fixing this problem.
But since it was annoying me and i wanted to try new roms out there i tried to install Cyanogenmod v10 (i think) and after some try it worked and was nice there but totally no signal no pin code ask or whatever then i switched to Paranoid Android (latest version with halo and stuff)
It was even more nice than cyanogenmod and i enjoyed it but still no freaking signal or whatever but also this rom was draining my battery like hell even it's locked it drains my battery and when i sleep and wake up it's 13% from 99% around 8 sleep. Then i searched all over internet trying whole lot of things but i still didn't find it. I learned that this all things are because of corrupted efs folder bla bla and then i tried EFSPro Backup yeah it looked nice and it said it's done and gave me tar file with efs.img in it. I tried restore and it said success but still no signal or whatever please help guys i need all your help to fix my phone and get it to work.
My phone specs in case of need: (It's all lost way back then but i'm looking things back)

FCC ID: A3LSHWM250S
and all else is korean strange things and why my imei is not here...

Odd that it happened after weeks of being fine and then just did a reboot and then this all happened
any ideas folks as to next move?
please someone must have an idea or two. to offer!
Well looks like I have fixed the issue after many hours of frustration..
Still have no idea what happened to cause issue in first place..
What I did was refresh my original backup
flash original STOCK rom via odin and this seemed to have fixed it. Are there any friggin better loctaion for these files as took 8 hrs to down load the damn thing!?
now re rooted, flash custom rom, flashed custom kernel of choice and than restored back up
everything seems ok(though my imei is incorrect now as says 004999010xxxxxx ,but am concerned it will happen again. Had flashed a modem several days before and updated a few apps . but at time of the issue occuring was just clearing caches then a reboot..

Wifi and Sim recognition not working

Hi guys,
So I was using rev os with my poco f1 and suddenly it was rebooting on its own I didnt pay attention to that part and and slept away When i woke up it seemed that rev os was continuing to reboot itself so I decided to change the rom I noticed there was no wifi or cell connection to back up.Nevertheless, i went into twrp flashed the EVOx 3.0 and it didnt work flashed pixel experience beta 10.0 it didnt work even after flashed the stock miui of poco the wifi and cell connection didnt come back and now I am Stuck. Please help....
the Wifi switch stucks on turning on and then reverts back to off and there is no singnal for sim networks
Did you backup your EFS partition?
It contains important information regarding SIM, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Maybe your EFS data partition got corrupted. And the symptoms of a corrupted EFS are exactly what you described, No Wi-Fi no Cellular and Bluetooth. (also lags and reboot issues.)
Even if you flash stock ROM it will not restore EFS.
The other problem could be a loose antenna cable (Known to happen with POCO) even with people who haven't done rooting or flashing.
You have 3 options.
1: Flash backup up EFS partition.
2: Return phone to stock and give to service center.
3: Open the phone and check cables.
All the best.

Were they able to restore the IMEI for you?
I took mine to Mi service and before they even saw the mobile they said the motherboard had to be replaced, which I doubt. Everything from the camera to bluetooth, and sometimes even Wifi works perfectly fine. Only the IMEI has gone missing, not sure how though. I hadn't even rooted the device.

Redmi Note 5 pro SIM and WI-FI not working
Hello, my friend has a Redmi note 5 pro and one day suddenly wifi and sim card stopped working(that's what he told me). I flashed recovery rom(MIUI 11) and sim and wifi started working back again only to stop working again a day after.
Then i flashed fastboot rom with mi flash tool(WHYRED GLOBAL) and the flash went on forever.I then flashed again with 3rd party flash tool and it showed success message but after i boot up....sim and wifi are still not working. Also i can now no more enter my phone because of no network and mi account lockdown. What are my options?
Bootloader is still unlocked.
