Can you enter the "DOWNLOAD"/"ODIN" mode?
Here is a full system backup --> LINK
Here is a working recovery (I'm not sure if you can enter CWM...) -> LINK

Odin is a tool to flash files to the phones partitions, e.g. recovery or a full rom. You will need to open CWM then mount usb storage, copy the rom you downloaded to sdcard and finally install it by selecting install zip file.

Not likely that there is an option to mount as USB in recovery as most phones with JB or newer do not have the mass storage protocol built in as most phones use MTP now. He would have to use ADB to push a new rom to /sdcard (or adb sideload) or use Odin like was mentioned earlier to rewrite back to complete stock.

There is no matching stock rom for odin. The phone has a micro sd card slot. Means that copying the rom to the micro sd card and flash it will be the easiest way.

There isn't an OFFICIAL official tar file for it, but you can get back to 99% with the files found here: http://d-h.st/p94 via Odin. But yea, forgot about the SD card slot, that probably would be easiest. I'm just used to adb in these situations.

Greetings
Please I need your guidance and help...
I Have a rooted Google Nexus S phone.
I formatted it and removed every operating system file I had... Now all I have is clockwerk mod menu .. I can't install any Android OS or anything ...
I want to get back to stock OS but rooted..
What shall I do ?
Please advise
Plus if anyone could add .. How to install Arabic fonts with stock OS
Thanks in advance
What do you mean by: "I can't install any Android OS or anything"? Have you even tried?
why did you format and remove everything if you weren't prepared for the next step (flashing a new rom)?
From the clockwork recovery menu you will be able to mount your SD card via usb on your computer. You can then transfer over a flashable zip containing a custom rom for your device and flash it to the phone.
Or you can research the procedure for restoring your phone to stock.
Find a ROM, either custom or stock rooted rom and flash.
maybe i wasnt clear ...
I downloaded a custom rom and i removed ev.thing else (Other custom OS) from my usb storage then I tried to flash it but it didnt work ...
I'm now stuck .. My PC isn't recognizing my Nexus S Storage well .. It's just an icon and when I try to open it i get "Please insert a disk then try again"..
I just want to mount the usb storage and add any ROM
Please can anyone tell me how to let my PC read the USB Storage so I can push the ROM in it and flash it ?!!
Please Advise
You're sure you're mounting the SD card from the Recovery menu... like the previous user said? Perhaps try another SD card...

I have a nexus s and the storage is built in ..
I need to mount the storage to my PC, so I can copy custom ROM and flash it on clockwerk mod...
I can't open the storage from my PC. And I'm mounting the SD from clockwerk mod.. But it's not working
OK ..
Now I have another issue guys.
I downloaded CM7 ROM and copied it to my Phone..
Now in clockwerkmod I'm getting this error :
Assert failed
//some lines
(status 7)
Can you help me bypass it ?
Thanx
Just try reloading stock firmware, It's probably a safer bet for the time being. you can always re-root afterward.
Try to use a PC with an SD reader, use an SD to micro SD converter, download CM or any other ROM, start your Nexus S in recovery and flash the ROM.
---------- Post added at 04:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:48 PM ----------
Try this...
1. Find a PC with SD Card reader
2. Get an SD to Micro SD converter (little card looks like SD card with a micro SD slot)
3. Download a ROM (safest bet is stock ROM from Google)
4. Mount SD card through card reader (with SD to micro SD converter)
5. Copy downloaded rom on root of mounted SD card
6. Put micro SD card back into your Nexus S
7. Start Nexus S in recovery (think it's hold volume down and press power key)
8. Use recovery to install the ROM you just downloaded to your SD.
If you don't have access to the Recovery menu I would not know how to solve this problem. But post here I am sure someone will know how to solve this.

Apparently the Nexus S doesn't have external memory... just 16GB of NAND. I didn't know this... what a pain.

I copied a lot of ROMs and custom ROMs into my storage. But I wasn't able to install most of them instead of 1 ROM "Stock ROM modified by MoDaCo 2.3.3"
I'm always getting error 7 on CWM..
Did you select "install zip from SD"? You are not supposed to select "apply update.zip". That usually causes that error.

Hey I'm currently using the lightning 6.1 rom you guys have on this forum but I'm trying to get the new cyanogen mod 7.1 on my galaxy s2 instead via CWM.
I've rebooted into recovery to try flash the .zip but nothing shows up on my SD card... when I try enter the folder it just springs back to the start menu and i'm unable to flash.
Does anyone have any idea?
I have:
Formated my SD card, then put all my data back on.
Made sure the SD card is working.
So how comes its not working via CWM? I can ask to flash it via the actual app but when it boots into recovery to flash it gives me a signature error.

Try going to the "mounts and storage" option in CWM. Then click on mount sd card. That might be your problem.
TIP: If you want to flash CM7 flash this kernel before http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693 , becasue if your using cf root kenrel you will get into trouble.

I tried this and it still says there are no files on the SD card... do I need to name it something specific? I tried naming the rom zip update.zip once but that didn't do anything either.
I dont really want to flash to a recovery rom only if i'm not able to get CM7 off of my SD Card :/
*edit* I currently have the zips at the root of the SD card.. there are 4 folders data, LOST.DIR, DCIM and media... should the files be on the root or in another folder?
Make sure the zip file is on the root of the "internal" sd card, also just keep the name the same as the downloaded file. You should find it somewhere at the bottom of the list. Also select with the menu button, not the power button. Power button is to go back.

wtf??
its basicly acting like there's no SD Card anymore, only made the name flash empty and no apps will open, wtf!? help please on how to fix or undo this crap
Might be close and just need another tip...
I believe I rooted my device properly because my external SD card has now replaced the internal SD card within the NAND FLASH section of the Storage menu. Is this correct? All of my apps still work so I don't think I've broken anything, but it does not appear that any of my apps have moved to the external card nor do I know how to move them or force new ones to be installed to it. For example, I tried to download a large app that exceeded my internal card storage and it still produced an error. I'm thinking I'm close and might just need a few more tips or instructions?
hey, is there is any way to resize the internal system partition. because I am trying to flash a new ROM. but my system partition size is only 450mb and I need around 1gb to flash the ROM. there are different partion like data partition, system partition, cache partition etc, can I resize them a make system partition of around 1gb. my phone karbonn titanium S1.
thank you
Anyway to get the original vold.fstab file?
1. Does anyone know if there is anyway to get the original factory stock vold.fstab file that comes with Hisense Sero 7 Lite tablet?
2. Is there a way to verify that the tablet indeed has 4GB capacity?
Any and all help will be highly appreciated. I am kind of dead in the water right now - especially with respect to item #1.
Thanks,
-Neville

This doesn't make sense to me: you should be able to remove the micro SD card, put the rom/gapps you want on it, reboot into recovery, navigate to the card and flash the rom.
I've done that hundreds of times, no reason why it can't work for you.

Another option:
adb push the file from your PC to the device.
Code:
ADB push <path\to\file.zip> <path/to/devicefoldername>
example:
Code:
adb push C:\Android\ADB_help.txt /emmc/Download
^^ the device path may be different according to what recovery your kernel uses.
