I've got an S4 w/ T-Mobile and am eligible for a JUMP! upgrade. So I went to try to do it online, but the S5 isn't one of the choices available to upgrade to.
Looks like they have the S5 in stock on their site to buy though..
Anyone know whats up? Or has anyone done the JUMP! upgrade to S5 online?

I used my jump for the s5 coming from the s4. I went into the store and had no issues. Didn't do it online so I can't speak on that. I got mine the day of release, and to my understanding those was supposed to be the pre-order ones, which was probably wrong but I don't know. I do know that I'll be using the jump again when the Note 4 comes out

I did mine in store. Took about 20 minutes.
They say its easier in the store because you will get your credit instantly for your old phone. Online you have to send it to them
they have to inspect it then they post a credit to your account.

Paid on it for seven months ($192.50 total).
Then traded it in on an S5 and got $400 towards the S5.
So with just seven months, you got a free $407.50 towards and S5 and are now on the S5 jump plan at $27.50 (or whatever) per month with no money down?

The s4 was $25.50 a month, basically upgrading cost 2 bucks more a month. I got the s4 and the s5 with no money down BUT you have to pay the taxes on it.

I did the same thing. No issues. My upgrade day was launch day. SO perfect
Me too... I JUMPed from the S4 to the S5 on the JUMP1 plan... T-Mobile ended up paying off the $425 for my S4 and my payments went up $2.50 a month (who cares lol). Being grandfathered into the old JUMP plan is amazing because now that the initial 6 months is over I can upgrade twice a year... meaning if they release a "Prime"S5 it is mine, or I just wait for the N4 T-Mobile for the win!

How the heck did you get $440 for an S4 on trade in? They only gave me $330 for my Note 3! That's some bull**** right there.
With jump there is no value from my understanding... JUMP pays the balance of the phone and then you just pay taxes...if you don't have jump then you'll get credit or the value of your phone towards the new one...

You guys that did the jump to S5 in store, did they have 32GB models or just 16GB? I don't want to deal with a 16GB Galaxy again.. you have to do a bunch of workarounds to get apps onto your SDCard, and even then only some apps.
You can get the 32gig one but they will send it to you as they don't have it in the store.

Exactly the way I'm gonna do it. T-Mobile said it can only be done twice a year, even if I use my jump a month after I've used it. Just twice a month. So yea, N4 for me too

I walked in on my way home from work on Friday. ASked the dude at a t-mobile store if they had a GS5 and if I was eligible. He looked in his computer and said "yes, and yes"
I was like "sweet"
but "my phone is rooted and I have a rom on it" He said "as long as see the set up screen where you enter your credentials I don't care" I told him I would just reload my wicked rom v7.1 or whatever it was. He was like fine, let me go get the GS5 from the back.. I started to do the reset and he walked out from that back with no phone.. said he had none
I left and called another T-mobile store 2 miles away, dude said they have plenty. I gave him the same speech about being rooted and rom. HE SAID "I will go to the about phone section and on the bottom where it says status it must say, Official"
Of course mine didn't. I spent the entire night unrooting and reverting back to stock. Actually most of the night was researching.
I go the next morning same dude was there. He grabs the phone, go to reset options, hits reset, game over.. lol
Never looked once.
All that said, I'm not rooting this GS5 until I can make sure I can go back to 100% factory..
lol well that's good to heard that at last you end up getting your s5. but do they check knox counter? if you root your device it'll go 0x1 so let's say I unroot it and take it to oem factory settings that will be enough to use jump .?

I learned that Google has discontinued the "bill to your account" option. So, from now on, debit/credit cards are the only accepted forms of.paynent on Market/Play. I can use my credit card, but billing to the account was more convenient, and interest free. LOL
Edit: AT&T confirmed this today.

FYI, you should only use credit cards when purchasing online. CC have more consumer protections built-in, for starters. Plus if someone gets hold of your debit card info you'll be out CASH and not just a credit balance for up to a month. Think of all the checks you could bounce. And you'll be w/o the card itself for up to 2 weeks while they take their time getting you one with a new account number.
Just went through this on a credit card that had nearly $1000 in fraudulent charges - and since I knew this info ahead of time it was little more than a big annoyance instead of a huge problem.
This would happen to me when flashing different roms, what worked before was to uninstall the updates to the market, force close it, clear data, then reboot with wifi off. Typically this would bring the option back. Since google play came however this stopped working for me which sucks, since working for AT&T they give me a hundred dollar allowance each month. If I find a new fix I'll post it here.

It never worked on my Note, but used to work on my skyrocket but has since stopped for the last few weeks. Did you see an announcement that confirms this? or is it just an assumption.

I've been searching for the lowest prices for the HTC DNA and stumbled upon this deal and figured I'd share it with you guys.
The HTC DNA for only $119.99... probably the best deal out there right now.

I actually just went in to see if they could get me the 149 as listed on the website so that best buy would price match. When they pulled up their system it was listed for $1.00. You shouldn't have to do anything to convince them to give you the price.

Thanks, I checked with my local hhgregg (Tampa, FL), and they do have the Droid DNA in their system for $1.00 for a new contract (didn't ask about upgrade price since I'd be a new VZW customer). They don't have any in stock, but my gf and I will be ordering 2 as soon as we can both make it to the store (hopefully this evening). The associate said there wasn't an end date to the price in their system, so it may be expire with this week's sale on Saturday, or it may end sooner/later...who knows.

I was told the same thing about it not being in stock, but I ordered it on a Thursday (1/3) and had it on the following Tuesday (1/8). Hopefully you get the same turnaround time.
This price has been going on since at least 12/28 which was when I first inquired, so hopefully it continues for those that are looking to pick one up.
Great now I only have to save up $400 for my security deposit lmao. Hhgregg would charge the same deposit as Verizon no?

hhgregg wouldn't "charge it" per say.... meaning Verizon would get the money, but yeah unfortunately they wouldn't be able to bypass Verizon's security deposit requirements.
But hey at least it would only cost $401 instead of $599 for the deposit and the phone... lol.
I took the $200 that I would have spent on the phone and instead bought the 2 year protection plan. The plan covers way more stuff than Verizon's, there's no deductible, and it works out to less than $10 a month.
Just thought I'd share.

It's up to VZW, and it's doubtful that they'll budge.
Hi all. I have an opportunity with an upgrade on my line and I was wondering if I should just wait or grab this bad boy now.
That is up to you my friend if it were me I would be too impatient to wait for the note 3 but we both know that the note 3 is going to be extremely intense.. even though the note 2 is already pretty damn intense as it is.
I personally see myself keeping this phone for two years or more ((the technology in the note 2 will hold up)... Correct me if I'm wrong.)

I am a smart phone junky!! I in a 3 month period I've gone from iPhone 4S to galaxy s3 to iPhone 5 and now I want the Note 2 lol. I have zero patience when it comes to waiting for new devices to come out. I know the note 3 is going to be an absolute beast but I have to say the note 2 has me itching to buy it this weekend. Get both. If your a phone junky like you say you are, youll figure out a way to get your hands on the note3 when it comes out. I know I will. I always say "this phone will last me 2 years" and this phone will for sure. But like you, im too impatient so ill probably get the note3 also.

I always say I'm going to keep a phone for 2 years and I can barely last 2 months. I'm going to get the note 2 and deal with getting the note 3 at that time. Now that Verizon is starting their 12 month financing program starting Sunday it will be much easier to get my devices now. I have an ipad, iPhone and android tablet all within arms reach right now.

I absolutely love my Note 2, but I don't think I could go any larger (as the Note 3 is rumored to be). Any bigger than the 5.5 inches that we have now and I tihnk it will be awkward to carry in the pockets of normal clothing.

I called today to verify and after waiting for the rep to do some research he came back and said that it is indeed happening. There are a couple of requirements though: 1 account has to be in good standing, 2 there can't be a balance on the account, 3 you have to specifically ask for this financing program. I was also told that you can even add a phone to a line that is not due for an upgrade because you will be financing the full retail amount of the phone so I don't believe you will lose your unlimited data.

Well that was terrible advice. I know the frequency at which android devices hit the market and I would hate to spend full retail for something that wasn't worth it. I was just curious is all. I know each device gets better with each release but sometimes that isn't the case. Not all android devices are privileged to getting future updates and by worth it I meant any major design flaws that would make waiting a better idea. I was expecting some to say "don't get it because ......." or buy it because .......... " I don't know much about the note 2 and was looking for input from the forums.
So, I just got my replacement phone from Verizon. My WiFi stopped working so I called and they sent me another one. I turned it on and it was MDK. I just rooted it and installed TWRP. The only issue is that I had to turn my phone off because it started downloading ME7.

only the 16gb is still being sent with mdk any 32gb replacements will have me7 only i have a 16 they were supposed to send me a 32gb but didnt have any and they sent 4 to me all on me7 from start so i am keeping my 16 but having them send a 64gb card

I know that the Verizon warranty replacement I received was a brand new phone. I'm pretty sure Asurion are refurbished.
Verizon uses asurion as well as they're corporate insurance. Only time you really go to asurion is if you're damaged or lost. For warranty replacement verizon can deal with it. I called verizon 611 and did it tonight. We'll see what I get tomorrow.

just to confirm. i had to replace my phone about 2 weeks ago cause my wifi and bluetooth stopped working. i got what appeared to be a brand new device with no back or battery and it was running MDK. not sure if it was used, but if it was, who cares, its in perfect condition. also they said my replacement would take 5-7 business days (i went on a friday evening around 5 or 6 at night) and it showed up the next day at like 5pm on a saturday.
They always overnighted me devices. If it's just the device and nothing else it's a refurb. You can also tell by looking at the back sticker. It's obvious.
Refurbs do suck. Depending. They're refurbished for a reason. They had issues

If you're on ME7 you have to use ME7, but if you're on MDK use MDK. This will set it back to stock.
Got a mdk today. New not refurb too. To tell look at sticker on back compare to OEM non refurb.

I have a new replacement on the way, hopefully it is an MDK
when u call verizon if they replace it you will get a refurb, it will come just the phone in the box. no packaging or back cover, very easy to tell and also has a CLNR screen protector.
if you get a replacement directly from asurion, it will be brand new in factory packaging.
I had a CLNR come like 2-3 weeks ago, i ended up sending it back because i fixed my problem but it came as a MDK build

Just pre-ordered mine through Verizon today. Decided on the black one without the Gear watch. The employee said that they might get them a few days early like they did with the two previous models. Your bill cycle ends a few days before your bill is available to view. It should be on your next bill. Check your cycle dates.

Thats impressive ping on that test, you say thats a verizon tower? All the towers in my area the pings are over 100ms, usually between 110-130. Theres a tower in my backyard as well and i get the same speeds but the pings are bad to me. I done a speed test recently on one tower and got 56mbps down and the ping was 116. The at&t network in my area has pings half that of verizon, their network feels faster to me because of that. ( I had to remove the image from the quote, forum rule, I dont have 10 posts yet.)
