[Q] Is it possible to convert KitKat into Donut/Cupcake? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Hi. I love having KitKat because is the most recent version of Android, but I also like classic Donut/Cupcake appearance, like launcher, statusbar, color scheme, etc.
Is this possible?
Oh! Before I forget, I want Froyo lockscreen too.
Thanks in advanced.

Wow, you take it REALLY old school. Best answer I could give you (and I'm not a genius by far) is to see if any of the launcher apps (Nova, Apex, etc) have a Donut/Cupcake icon pack, and use Xposed to create the rest of the look (Xblast will do most of what you are looking for including status bar, changing some of the system colors, etc). Not sure if XLockY will do Froyo lockscreen, but I haven't played with that module too much.

Use Handcent App with Stock SMS Icon?

Hello,
IS there a way to keep my stock SMS icon and have it open up Handcent instead of the stock messaging app. I really don't like the Handcent blue icon up on my menu bar.
Thanks,
Mike
If you use custom launcher, like Apex Launcher, you can edit icons and even names of the app.
And if you prefer Sense you could use Desktop Visualizer.

Perfect, thank you!

It's what I'm doing, I also replaced the icon for the phone dialer...
you can also get the Sense Icons from somewhere and use Bettercut
I used it to customize my icons and added them to the dock
I use Apex Launcher. It can do just about anything with icons and your home screen.

Does Nova Launcher have a feature like this? Where you can change the icons around?

Wow, it's nice to know someone is doing a good job on customization. May I know the apps you used for the notification center, gallery, dialer, contacts, and settings? I really can't stand stock Samsung JB.

What's everyone using as a launcher?

Just curious if people prefer stock or a replacement launcher?

Nova.
I used ROM Cleaner to remove the sense launcher.
Ha I was also wondering this. Was just about to ask and saw this thread. I was wanting to make a sleek simple homescreen and someone said I couldn't change icons with stock launcher.
How easy is it to switch back and forth between launchers?
As easy as installing from the play store and running it.

But would it keep all the settings. Like could you set up two different launchers and have them set the way you want. Then just feel like going to a different look one day just because you feel like it lol.
Yes. A launcher is just an app like any other app. Settings get saved.
Nova, have used it since I got my Galaxy S2. Love it easy backup/restore change icons individually, and more!
Just installed Nova Launcher and gotta say its pretty cool. Here's what I created. Just two questions. Can nova launcher make the status bar clear? And I used simple text to change icons on the dock but it has black background behind the words. Can I make that clear somehow.
I use apex launcher and as nova
It's amazing, I had no trouble changing plenty of phones while keeping my layout

ive been a nova user for quite sometime , however ive been using stock on the one.
Guess im the only one who actually likes and uses blinkfeed =]
I'm using Next Launcher with custom apps and live cube wallpaper very cool!

Action Launcher - allows minimalist approach, very fast to select apps. And Blink Feed app from appstore switches back into sense launcher so I can go back and forth.
Apex
This may be the perfect place to post this:
Does anyone know of a launcher (or can creat one) that is JUST the Sense 5 app drawer?
i.e: unlock your phone, and hit the app drawer button: THAT is ALL I want to see.

I've always liked the stock launchers over Nova, Apex, etc. Although I did enjoy them on CM roms on the One X when I had it. Usually I'm not a fan of stock Android. I've always much preferred the manufacturer skins.
I love sense 5 too much to switch

Man, $15 seems kinda steep for that.

[REQ] Clear theme

I wanted to know if there were any themes that had every single icon/widget that is totally clear. Yes I do also have Team Black's stuff.

you can use their ROM, alliance v6 which has transparent framework. besides that you're not going to find much other transparent stuff besides that ROM and their cleared out apps.
Of course you can also use an aftermarket launcher to set the transparency of your app drawer. Also most popular widget sets such as beautiful widgets pro lets you make their widgets transparent.

Themer 'Smart Launcher' Style App Drawer?

Just thinking how cool it would be if themer had the choice to change the style of app drawer, maybe with a smart launcher style auto-categorize, that along with the option of applying icon packs just to the drawer. Also, lastly, am i the only one who would gladly pay for the use of themer? if it would mean improving the quality of the app?
