Hi, I have a problem with getting my old texts to S5. I've used the sms backup app, and samsung switch none of them worked as its saying its not compatible
any other ideas ?
I managed to transfer other stuff with my backup pro, but that also didn't work on texts
Wow that's a new one I've used SMS backup and have no problem with transferring my SMS backups. Within SMS backup you can set up to upload your backups to drop box try using that and see if that works for you.

I bought the pro version a while back.
The best purchase I have made for my android.
Samusng Smart Switch Mobile on the app market did it fine for me. Just held the phones next to each other and all my messages transferred.

I'd like to get 2 versions back from current version of Good. If someone uses TB to back up and has max backups set to more than 1, they might have it...
You can get all previous version on all file sharing sites.
You can try on 4shared
we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.
Hey I have SMS backups from the LTEvo and want to get them onto my S3. All of the SMS restore apps I'm finding in the play store keep telling me the backups aren't found because I'm guessing they aren't compatible. Is there either a way to change the file type to make these apps work or is there another app that read this? Thanks.

Its telling me no backups were found in the specified location when I know 2 are on that folder. So I'm assuming these types of backups that are used in the stock Evo messaging app aren't compatible with MyBackup pro.

Just use an SMS backup app from the play store. Download the same app on the S3, locate the backup file, profit...I did it for my wife from her Epic 4G to her S3.

Ok...well maybe you could try the different apps anyway...one *might* be able to read the file format.
I would try myself, but I forgot my phone at home today (conveniently).

I need to find out what type of odd file its making it maybe it will be easier to find the right app. I've already tried 3 or 4 different ones with the same result.

If you had someone with an eltevo it could be done easily. Where are you? I would load the backup on mine and convert it to a go SMS or some apk that would allow you to bring them over.

Has anyone actually got Cloud backup to work? This is a Samsung feature, no? I only get network errors - unable to restore and mostly unable to back up. It would be a killer feature, but...no luck :S
Having a nandroid backup and just restore messages would be a killer feature
I'm using the latest leaked stock FW, by the way

Is there an easy way to do this? I tried Kies but could not find the option to do this.
Please help.
Titanium Back Up and restore is the best way. Rooted though!

Rom tool box pro is good too to back up your stuff if needed!
shalom to you!
Thanks for the replies. But the user doesn't want to root his device.
This is not mine. Any option to transfer it without rooting?
Edit: This is not mine as I will not make the same mistake ever again!
Take that Samdung?
Phew! I actually thought you had bought a Lagdung S4!
What a relief
Hey you could try to use Samsung Switch. I believe it's made for transferring data from and to Samsung devices. I think it's downloadable in Google Play.

try moborobo it's a pc program which backups messages , numbers , call , logs , apps ,data , songs , videos and no need for root
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5rb3VzaGlrZHV0dGEuYmFja3VwIl0.
This is the best way! And I am speaking from experience, works flawlessly and you can backup to external SD if you want to. Since you are not rooted, you need to use the PC app as well, after that, you can backup as if your phone was rooted.
With that Smart Switch app from Samsung you just have to download it on your S3 and new S4. Then let each others' backs touch, and everything will be transferred via wifi direct which is very fast.

Thanks guys for the recommendations. Here are my take on these:
Samsung Switch - tried this, useless as F!
Helium - could have taken that route were it not for the software I used
Sorry Glebun. Won't happen again.
As for the software I used, it's Wondershare MobileGo for Android. Did what it's supposed to do. Pretty much.
I just hate that there are multiple entries in the phone book. For example, he has a contact with multiple numbers, all of them are going to be on a separate entries. Strange.
Should've tried Helium.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syyuCb5D-Fc Take my word for it, this is the best/easiest method when it comes to transferring files from one Samsung device (NFC) to another...rooted or non-rooted, You're welcome.
