Memory for what?
Do you mean where downloads/pictures/etc are saved?

On the Verizon One Max, on the left side near the top there is a button on the side that releases the back cover. From there you can insert your sd card. Not certain yours is the same but I would imagine so. Maybe a fellow International owner can confirm.
ha ha ha
i mean make the external memory to be the internal one like Samsung phones mods
because off the games data is very big

Try that

You need to format it by (fat32)

yes that i know, it is FAT32
but there is also Allocation Unit Size...
does that matter for Android? once I saw somewhere it should be 16 kb, but why?
with my old card, the maximum was 16kb, now with my new card I can go higher... should I?
Few days ago I purchased a 8GB Class 6 SD card. Found somewhere on this forum video of guy testing card on different Allocation size. On his test 32kB gave the best results. So I used 32kB and it is working ok.
sorry i have edited this to remove my question and post in correct forum.

care to share the link? I'm intrigued, cause my understaning is that bigger cluster size improves speed, but wastes more space (slack after small files)
Hi all, sorry if this is a bit of a noob question.....
What is the maximum RAM the SGS II can utilise. I see it comes with 16gb built in. But I have read that you can expand it by plugging in a 32gb SD card...
Does this mean that it can have 48gb, or you can only expand to 32?
Thanks....
The phone only comes with 1GB of RAM and you can't add anymore. Except possibly adding swap.
OK now for what you actually meant, you can add a 32GB micro sd card to increase the storage space to 48GB.
And to answer your question, yes, adding a large SD card it will have more storage, but not RAM. It supports SDHC-standard which goes up to 32GB (some phones support the new SDXC standard that goes up to 2TB) .
Coo!

Cheers guys... I thought it would be 48 judging by the Samsung page....
Differing reports from reps in shops. 1 said anything up to 64gb and another 32gb....
Again thanks....
BTW. What is this classed as if it isn't RAM? And the SGS II does have 16gb storage RAM built in, doesn't it?
RAM: Random Access Memmory, used to store running bits of the OS, programs, etc. Whats stored in the ram will be lost when the power goes off. We have 1GB of this.
ROM/NAND Flash Memory: Flash memory that wont lose data when the power goes off, slower than RAM, but we have more of it, in this case 16GB built in, but some is used for the OS, data and other bits.
S2 have a 16 gig internal memory, so why does mine say 3 gig used and 8 available? Where is the other 5 gig? I'm running a custom ROM (not had chance to update my sig yet) would that make a difference? I can't seen to find out what this 5 gig is........
Thanks

i dont have the exact number to the nearest MB but it works something likes this...
16GB on internal memory equates to 14.4 (approx) GB available memory...
you can see something similar in any windows/linux PC...when you try to see the disk space...available is alway less than total...dont worry/bother right now why its like that...
ok now from 14.4 GB available... you take out 2.1 GB (approx) for internal memory (also called partition for storing Apps)...
this leaves you with 12 GB (approx) free...called the SD card memory (separate from any external SD card you might put in)
its like that for each and every SGS2 16GB model user.... nothing to worry about..

ah right, so nothing to worry about... thanks for clearing that up mate.
I know, i can have external memory, but it is slow comparing to NAND internal memory
How much of internal memory will left after all the system? 11GB?
On my galaxy s 16gb (rough comparison) SD card partition is 13.4 and app partition is 1.8. Rest is system partitions.
Touchwiz will probably take a bit more and Samsung may partition differently.
Its enough for me end up with 4gb free
With 5gb music.

if i read it right the built in 16 gb will have 10.5 gb usable as internal sd which is 1 gb lesser than my sgs2. Thank god sgs3 has the sdcard slot .

Damn ill take a 16 gb and 16 ext. Also the ext battery but deff not both 64.
Where have you seen info about extended batteries?
I never use more than 3 gig on my phone so 16 gig is plenty. Out of the 3 gig that I use, most of it is ROMs and kernels that are on it
... ... ...
I'll be happy with the 16GB one, already have a 32GB card but i may get a 64GB card too.
Yes. Put a 62 GB SD card in it and there you have it you will never run out of storage. Plus you can utilize the Dropbox Storage they give u

To each their own.
I think I'll buy a 32 Gb phone and buy an sd later as and when required. (Since internal memory is faster)

i think ill grab a 16GB version of the GS3..already have class 4 32GB never used it had it on my note but i returned it due to pixel issues..still a virgin but now i might get the higher speed sandisk 64GB.. that way when i get new Nexus/NOTE2/GS4 ect.. ill just buy the ones that have the lowest GB built inn and just popped the 64GB.. im good with a built in 16GB..got to love this SD slots coming from a iphone/ipad user..still like my apple stuff but its time for a change
question ? whats faster internal memory or the new Sandisk card when the phone reads it..i mean the Sandisk reads 30mb sec* i mean that plenty fast already..will there be a big difference when the phone reads the internal memory or the SD high read cards.?
will my class 4 32GB work good enough on the GS3? will there be like a little lag due to its a calss 4? or thats good enough?

NAND memory, the integrated one, is the one used in SSD disks. It is faster than SD cards
Hey there guys.
Just wanted to know how much internal memory is available for apps. Is it the advertised 13GB or something else?
Thanks!

You have 2 GB of internal memory
And more than 11 GB that you can use as an SD card.
