Have you asked in that ROMs thread?? Probably get much better results that way as almost every ROM can be different and include some options and then not include others so it's really hard to say here... and you just said " aosp Google Edition" . there's a couple of those at least no??

AOKP Build 25 Rom Port

First off, all credit should go to Roman and the AOKP team for creating the rom, JT and sbrissen for making the fascinate able to run this setup, Stephen.k.Spear for the first port of this rom, and anyone else I forgot to mention that was involved (sorry). I'm not looking to take this port over or step on any toes, but I just wanted to share an awesome experience with the rest of the fascinate community.
Link to AOKP main site (changelogs, forums, FAQs, etc.)...
http://forum.aokp.co/
Installation instructions (have latest cwm recovery)...
-reboot into recovery via power button reboot options, terminal emulator, or rom manager (no 3 finger reboot if on any ics rom)
-wipe data / factory reset
-flash THS build 2 (not required if already on an ics rom)
-let phone boot up
-reboot into recovery via power button options
-wipe data / factory reset
-flash AOKP build 25
-let phone boot up
Build 25 download link...
http://db.tt/IBc5scHR
Info, fixes, walkarounds...
I based this port off of THS Build 6, and the Toro AOKP build. I included the gmail, market, and file explorer apps (have titanium backup on your sd card and easily browse through the file explorer to install it...then restore your apps). Everything is working flawlessly except for mms. A walkaround is to download setdns from the market (free)...
http://market.android.com/details?id=uk.co.mytechie.setDNS
Open app, choose custom, set dns1 to 8.8.8.8, set dns2 to 66.174.92.214, hit apply, reboot to recovery, wipe cache then dalvik, then reboot. Mms will work identically to all the other mtd based roms (no mms over wifi).
Currently the option in rom control / lockscreen options / enable fast torch is inop so there is no need to add it to the reboot options menu. An easy torch walkaround is to download flashlight + led from the market (free)...
http://market.android.com/details?id=com.devuni.flashlight
This app has a nice option that while on lockscreen, shaking (adjustable) the phone will turn on / off the led camera light, along with a lot of other great options.
Currently the option in rom control / lockscreen options / lockscreen wallpaper is inop due to soft resets over all ports. The original dev is working on it.
As far as nav bar options go, under rom control / power menu options, turn on show nav bar toggle. Then, when you press and hold the power button for reboot options, the option to hide / show the nav bar will be there. After toggling this you may have to rotate, or open a different screen to refresh the screen itself where the nav bar was. You could also just hit lock quick.
While docked, and only when using the dock, the miui battery bar shows charging, along with the info under settings / battery. It doesnt show charging on the battery icon itself, or the lock screen. It is charging though. Ill let the roms creator know about this issue.
When rebooting from reboot menu, you have to press reboot then reboot again in order to reboot normally, otherwise leaving it on reboot will reboot you into recovery. Its as if recovery is default if nothing is physically pressed. This is happening over all ports.
**continue to look at the op for newest info, fixes, etc.**
...will edit original post after work later with a lot more info...

Do you know what you did to get the wifi working? Or was it just a ghost that disappeared from being built on a different computer?
Thanks btw, this is the sweetest rom i have ever had the pleasure of flashing!

To be honest, I swapped out so many smali files within framework.jar that I'm not sure which exactly fixed it. Its weird because my fascinate never had the wifi toggle bug all, but my wife's did...and I used the same exact procedures on each. Oh well, at least its fixed for good now!

Dammit!! Oops, I mean, Gosh Darnnit! I promised myself I'd stop fiddling with my device and stay on TSM Res. But this sounds like what I've been waiting for. Dammit! I had the wifi issue as well on all the Stephen Spears roms, but everything is good on this one. Thanks for taking the time, I've been wanting to get on this one but the lack of wifi was a deal killer for me. About 3 days into this one now, and everything has been running smoothly, thanks.
Can anyone tell me the version number of the latest CWM?
And where can I get it?
I searched in XDA there are so many links and couldn't tell which one I should use to flash this rom.
Thanks in advance.

[BROKEN] [Stock ICS W/ TouchWiz Deodexed] - Working HW Buttons and Calling.

*EDIT So many are having the FC issues, I am pulling it for now.
Sorry I guess 3 phones tested was not enough.
Will try to work out the kinks and get it back up soon.
I didn't do anything here except include Fennys new Phone APK and Qwerty KB fix. All the Kernel work is Fenny.
Thanks to Vlara and Howtomen for Putting the rom together with Fennys new Kernel which inclues the HW button fix.
Thanks also to Vlara for Deodexing.
The screen wake issue has yet to be resolved.
Other than that everything seems to be working fine.
All of Samsungs Bloatware is still there, including TouchWiz.
To adjust the Keyboard to the QWERTY android version from the QWERTZ Samsung Version, goto Language and Input, select Default, then English (US) Android Keyboard.
There is an issue with the kernel right now where you have to manually hash your restores, or they will not work.
Thanks again to FennyFatal, Vlara, and Howtomen!

Unable to use this ROM, set up fc's on Phone and Messaging constantly making set up impossible.
Skipping set up and going straight to the phone didnt help either. Any action (open an app, settings etc) is receive with "Phone has stopped responding" or "TWLauncher has stopped responding".
Can not hold a cell or wifi signal.
Flashed twice, same results each time.
Can we get a new phone.apk?
I can't get pass the "Galaxy SII" boot screen... :-(
How do you extract the kernel? I think its just the flash image and z image right?

stock SMS app may not natively. Best bet is to grab an alternative from play store like "handcent" or "go".

I hear ya.. have you tried hand cent? HIGHLY customizable. You can make it look HOWEVER you want with, seriously. Also like I said, stock messeging app may not wake the phone up natively. You could be waiting for a fix that isn't need or gonna happen. Also, play store MIGHT have an app to wake phone upon notification..

Where should I look in the ROM?
If you're talking about the option under Settings > More... > NFC,
the option is there, but NFC still doesn't work.
That's why the Tags app doesn't show up even though it's installed and third party apps aren't able to pick up my ORCA card, even though they can on Glory.

Better not ask in the thread bro. I'm certain NFC should work. Also this is probably the response you'll get:

My apologies for not clarifying.
I Odin'd back to stock, rerooted, installed CMW, full wiped, installed AOKP + GApps; same story:
Tags app doesn't show up, NFC doesn't seem to work with 3rd party apps.
So here's what I've done so far (yes, full wipes between every flash):
After AOKP, flashed Phone-Bricker - NFC worked fine.
ShirShir - NFC worked fine.
Reflashed AOKP.
Tried flashing NFCEnabler Patch over AOKP. The Tags app magically started appearing, the option to turn on NFC under Settings > More... disappears.
If anyone's had this issue or knows something I should try next, I'd really appreciate it thanks!
Did you figure out what was wrong? I think I have the same issue, came from stock and did a full wipe to AOKP 7.3.2012 w/newest GApps and flashed Siyah 3.4.3
I enabled NFC in the settings. I have the "Tags" app in my manage apps so I can delete it (but can't figure out how to launch it, if I need to).
I tried testing on 4 blank Type 2 Ultralight C tags but it does nothing with both NFC Task Launcher and TagWriter
I suppose I should flash a different ROM to make sure that it is software and not a bad tag(s)/nfc battery?

Oh grats man. So its just me then....dang it I hate being special lol. So do you run the Tags app from app drawer or is it a background service?
I guess I'll reflash the ROM. Not sure how I managed to screw this up. I mean I started with a full wipe and everything...

Yeah not sure how that happened to me either. I use the TagWriter app from the PlayStore. Seems to work for me.
Well I never figured out what my issue was lol
I full wiped and flashed 7.3.2012 with siyah kernel twice. Didn't work so I full wiped + flashed 7.1.2012. Also didn't work so I bought 2 more NFC batteries in case that was a problem (my first nfc battery was made in china not korea). Still didn't work, bought 5 more NFC tags to test on, didn't work. Used nfc tasklauncher, tagwriter, and taginfo but none picked up the tags
Flashed SHOstock2 v3.1.2 and it worked instantly -_-

screen wake on messages? turn it off

First off I'd like to say im a recovering flashaholic from galaxy nexus/tbolt/nexus 7 but i've been good lately I'm happy with sense 5 in its simplicity.
but here is my issue... on all the joel based sense 5 roms(hatka, digital dream m7, stock joel port) i get screen wake on incoming messages and I can't figure how to turn it off... i do not get this behavior on newts roms(up thru 1.6, didn't try 2.0 yet)
I always do a full wipe and fresh installs from TiBackup with no system data and I can't find it in settings on messages or system setting
I hope I'm missing something stupid but I have looked everywhere and its really the only thing wrong with the roms and I like the themes

I dont have a fix for that problem. I would recommend using Handcent as a default messaging system. It has all those options and more so that should fix ur problem if ur willing to try it out

I'm running Hatka Supreme 1.1.0 and the Screen Wake on SMS was an option in the Aroma installer when you flash the ROM. I don't know how to change it after the fact...
I'm on digital dream m7... I locked up aroma twice installing so I may have missed it... Will try a dirty flash to see if I can fix it
Edit: no aroma on digital dream... I guess I had a lock up on my nexus 7 the other day... I'm going back to newts ... I switched just to try out something new... Love the theme and everything but handcent seems so slow
