So i'm new to this phone and moto phones altogether. I had rooted, put 2.7twrp on, and then flashed a couple roms tonight after getting the phone earlier today. I just went into recovery and thought since I don't have much space on the internal sd I would erase the stock rom and now the phone wont boot even though i flashed liquid smooth. I've never heard of a phone having two roms on it and definitely didn't know not to delete the stock one on this phone. Is there any way to fix this? Please tell me there is because the only reason i'm using this is because i bricked my lg g2 last week so my sister is letting me use her razr and now i've bricked it! I'm hoping there is a fix :/ thanks to whoever bothers.
I think i got it fixed.
I'm able to use the button combo to get the screen where i can choose recovery or fastboot and whatnot so I'm thinking I can fix this phone but I'm not sure what to do. All the threads seem to be for the xt910. can someone please show me what thread to use to fix this phone.
got it fixed
used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192467 and option 1 to fix it. Already had used this to root and later realised I could use it to recover a soft brick.
This is for verizon XT912 users

My friend just tryed to restore his Hero, using Nandroid, but something wen't wrong. Now he cannot turn the phone back on agin. We tryed the combinations: "power+home" "vollumeDown+power" "back+vollumeDown+power" and nothing is happening.
What can we do in order to get it up and running agin?
You have bricked your Hero. I bricked mine too and couldn't find the answer to unbrick it. So I sent it off to be repaired.
Damn. I tought there was a way around it. I mean, i don't think that HTC is just gonna throw out the phone?
What is the actual cause of the bricking?
Well, i dont know. I talked to him over skype. He had an .img that he made, before he installed the new rom. He then wanted to get the backup on agin, because he forgot to export the caldender befor switching rom.
The switching of rom's was no problem, but the restore was..
A few phones have turned into bricks recently, starting to concern me with the amount of flashing I have been doing lately...
I have a SGH-I747M 4.1.1 Galaxy S3.
I used the Unified Toolkit and rooted/installed CWM, backuped and ready for a new ROM.
As I was installing this custom ROM (Pardus HD), and error popped up and it was aborted, (still in the CWM main menu)
but having only the said custom ROM zip file in the internal memory,
I figured I just shut down and download a fresh copy of the ROM.
and put it in an external SD card then power on the phone back into recovery.
Only thing is it wont power on anymore, the screen is just black, plugging in USB and computer just makes connected/disconnected noise.
(Devices say its "Qualcomm HS-USB DQLoader 9008")
Also tried taking out putting in the battery.
(I know my mistake is I never re-installed the backup) I've run out of ideas, please help.
I have a very similar problem. I had my battery checked thinking that could be the problem. My battery shows that is no good. I tried a new one and still nothing. I can't help but think if it were a missing program it would still come on at least. Lucky for me its covered under insurance. I'd still like to know what happened and if I could fix it.
I'd like to know too if I could fix it myself, other than ''the jig'' or a repair service. currenty trying to revive it still
edit: currently trying this Heimdall thing, goodluck to me...
Have you checked the battery? If I wasn't sending mine back on an insurance claim I would take it apart. I have a Motorola that has a fuse next to the battery under the back of the case. Seems dumb, I know but how could changing the rom "short" out my battery. Dumb again I always thought bricking was only being able to bring up recovery.
I think the battery is fine, as CWM was still running after the error.
That's pretty much what happened to me. Maybe we got to the same problem 2 different ways. Hope you get it figured out.
THIS IS GT-I9300 SECTION..
c'mon there was an stickie on top of this section for you..
HERE.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1705
Your problem is that you flashed a rom for gt-i9300 (International) and you have some U.S. variant of s3. That in most cases bricks the phone.
Probably time for a service center visit.
...well to start this off I pretty much simply put have my phone stuck in a bootloop without recovery that I know of. I a noob when it comes to android and had my phone rooted for the last few months when a few days ago my phone somehow got stuck in a bootloop and the only think I can seem to do it go to the factory reset screen where when selecting to erase all it quickly follow to going bakc to the hellish bootloop. If someone could help me out that would be so much appreciated as I need to be able to use my phone here soon for important matters. remember im a noob but I can follow directions! Thank you
i got bootlooped after marshmallow update. thats all it took. tried everything to fix, nothing worked. managed to boot in a freezer though, so you can try that to retrieve your files. i shipped it to LG, theyve been trying to fix it for two weeks now... but youre rooted so i guess your warranty is gone.
UPDATE: Read this!
TLDR: Don't flash 20j update and try to revert....== HARD BRICK
Long version:
The new 20j update has the Anti-Rollback feature tag set that you can NOT revert back to 20e.......You will HARD BRICK your V10 if you do so. I have...and a few others have.
I was on Eliminater74 20e rom, which is excellent. But he released a P1 .zip for the new 20j update. This contains new bootloader etc. (no P2 which is the actual rom for 20j yet.)
This will boot on 20e, but users (myself included) noticed video issues with YouTube and soon after, others reporting that video recording is broken now.
Naturally, we thought to revert and flash back to the 20e bootloader P1. zip.......and that caused HARD BRICK. Phone gets stuck in Qualcomm Emergency Bootloader mode that is not recoverable.
FIX: Contact " tungkick" http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4965298
He helped me un-brick phone. No data was lost! Was quite easy actually. ( I don't see his methods or files he used released here on XDA publicly) (if it is i'm blind.) So don't ask me...contact "" tungkick" .

I did the same thing, flash tool isnt picking up phone either, I think we are hard bricked at this point...

I flashed V10_H901_V20J_Stock_BootStock_Part1_20160810.zip ...that booted fine. But then I used pheon for a while and noticed YouTube was having issues of videos freezing but audio playin...a few others posted they had the same thing.
So I booted to TWRP and flashed the olde rP1 .zip for the orginal bootstock and hit reboot system and no...Nothing!
Black screen. No vibrate when I try vol down + power. When i try Vol up and connect usb to my computer...It shows "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM8). LG Up says it cant find anything.
Usb device descriptor failed in Device manager when I do vol down and plug in.
I have no idea what do? Help? I have been searching a few forums, but not really sure what is happening.

I was just about to start a new thread asking if I could flash back to previous marshmallow. Anti rollback may be in effect. If you have all the correct drivers installed it sounds to me like a hard brick. Hopefully I'm wrong and someone can help you

And....I assume a hard brick is very bad...not easy to fix? I messed up my G3 once, but at least it would show some sign of life.
I am not at all experienced with adb or fastboot..and how to get all that to work...I have tried, but with no success. Don't suppose there is someone I can send my phone to have it unbricked?
Same predicament here
Sent from my SM-T337T using XDA-Developers mobile app
Oh guys.... I am pretty sure that I've read around here and there that when you get that Qualcomm message you're not recoverable. I surely hope I'm wrong!
Sent from my pretty nifty brand new LG V10
Yea....it sucks. I have literally been up all night trying every method I can to recover from the Qualcomm Emergency Bootloader mode I'm stuck in. There are some LG programing tools that seem to be fake/scam by some user...but those were for the G3 and G4 anyway. Nothing I tried worked.
Just bought the V10 2 months ago used off swappa, already rooted, twrp etc..about $300. Just got the thing all setup the way I wanted it too...sigh. THis is what I get for not being patient and seeing what others experience before flashing something so new.
I was slightly aware of an "Anti-rollback" thing,,,but had no idea it would apply to same and inter-version version of OS. I still don't get why flashing the 20j bootstack on top of the current 20e rom would have caused the video freezing of youtube issue. Standard troubleshooting measures dictated to flash back to the 20e Bootstack to see if the issue went away(I have flashed back and forth bootstack etc on my G3 before with no issues).
Whelp......I guess myself and the other user (SIGMAxB) the 2 confirmed hard bricks served as the community warning........and my very first hard brick and loss of a device in such a fashion. THankfully, I was able to find last night another used V10 on Swappa that is already root and TWRP...for slightly less money that what I paid for my now bricked device. Least I had made an LG backup last week, and all my data is on the External SD card...but still gonna be annoying to have to start over......
Any mad scientist or master flasher who knows how to recover such a bricked device... I would be interested in sending it to them to fix....(I doubt T Mobile will give me a new one, nor wil LG Service the device. It's still under LG warranty, but their site requires u upload a copy of the receipt, and their terms state only covers original owner. So used phone off Swappa.....does not qualify. )
Dropped off my phone at a place called CPR (Cell Phone Repair). Thier location near me is more advanced than most others in that they can do data recovery and software kind of things. They said they may be able to fix phone, but he isn't very sure. Said there will be some techs in tomorrow that are more advanced that may be bale to help. I personally don't have much hope, but worth a shot at this point.
Until then...using my Moto X Pure for now...while I wait for the replacement V10 i bought off Swappa to arrive.
That really bites man.....I'm sorry.
I'm a prepay customer....they have different policies for us vs post paid customers.
I called 611 and got transferred around a bit. But finally got them to process a warranty exchange. I have to ship them the phone and they will send me a new one....hopefully. They didn't mention anything about a charge.
So at least I have that option to pursue should CPR place fail to reflash phone.

I did the same thing. It really sucks because I been doing this for over 5 years and this is my first brick. I guess thats what we get for having faith in a developer that should of known or properly tested this before putting a rom out.

While I agree that things should be tested...or otherwise noted that it has or hasn't been so.... (OP does have Status: Testing posted)
It wasn't the rom, his 20e rom runs great. But the updated P1 20j(bootloader)zip....it was the act of reverting and flashing the previous Bootloader version that caused the Hard Brick.
Until this point, I (and many others here) had not seen anything about the Anti-Rollback feature being an issue while on the same Android OS version (LP or MM builds). Now we know it is.
Additionally, the other posts on Eliminater74, rom forum....are indeed users reporting issues with the 20j zip...(mainly Video recording and YouTube streaming). However, the phone is not bricked.
Unfortunately, it's on us folks who flashed it right after it was released and then tried to revert who got screwed. It is definitely a good idea to wait a few days after something is posted to be sure others, mainly early adopters, don't report issues. If your phone is mission critical and you can not be without it or risk having a issue, then modding is not what you should be doing. Or at the very least, once you do get something flashed and stable.....stick with it (that voice in the back of my head was telling me this when i decided to try the update).
I am not sure as to how Eliminater74, had tested the P1 20j bootstack flashed to his 20e rom....but yes,,,,it does suck that this happened...but I am kicking myself in the head...not the dev. At least mine and the 2 others gave him waring and he was able to post a big red warning on the OP. Though I would suggest he remove the 20j part.....but that is up to him.
Least i had a backup phone to make use of until i can get a new V10...very annoying to have do so...but its something.
PS: I am actually starting to like my Moto X Pure more. Dual front facing speakers really nice. ON stock rom now, but used Bliss or while....that's is very nice and super tweakable. Screen isnt has sharp as the v10....and camera is just super basic. I also miss tap to unlock and the other LG specific features...but stock android is growing on me. The BT toggle has a dropdown to select devices to connect to right there, very convenient.
I'm definitely buying LG phones
this latest LG phone

left my phone with a place called CPR, Cell Phone Repair. I doubt they will be able to do anything with it. But once i get it back...probably tomorrow if they don't get back to me. I will see about that. Although, I did get t-mobile to approve an exchange, but i have to ship them my phone back first.
Just got a replacement V10 used off of Swappa. It already has Eliminator rom on it, though not sure what build. Attempting to restore my backup file to it.
debrick done ^^
So... tungkick is awesome! Phone unbricked.. without data wipe
BUt stuck on 20j now...

I assume there is a reason you haven't released this method and files publicly on XDA right?
I also am assuming you don't want me or others spreading this to others.
If i am wrong, please let me know.

Hello
Hard Brick H901
I applied right here commands
http://lgviet.com/forum/threads/huo%CC%81ng-da%CC%83n-unbrick-v10-h901-qualcomm-9008.59550/
phone is opened from sd card
but it does not switch to download mode
When switching to download mode puts reset
the picture looks
My Lg G5 (Tmobile) keeps on rebooting to recovery mode (TWRP) no matter what rom I flash. I tried using LG Up software but no matter how many times I install the driver phone is not recognized. Firstly I flashed Fulmics ROM then I installed LineageOS (Cyanogenmod) after that phone was working fine for a while till I saw an update and tried updating it to new nightly version. Please help me out if anyone knows how can I fix this issue.
You probably need to put the phone in download mode and then try LG up otherwise try pushing a rom that works through adb

I am sure this method would fix it but I already returned my phone and got new one as I had 1 year warranty. I bought it from T-mobile and I locked the bootloader before turning in the phone so it doesn't look like I was trying anything fishy. Now instead of phone going to twrp each time it goes to boolop saying "device is currupted and won't boot". It won't go to recovery mode no matter what I do and hope I don't get charged from T-mobile saying this and that.
However, I am really grateful to all of you great people who tried their best to help and you sir actually threw me a solution but I was too impatient to wait for it. I know this method will work no matter what as I had been using this tool for my G2 in old days and fixed the worse bricks where I had to openup the whole phone take battery out and stuffs like this. I was looking for this method found everything but LG tool asked me for .dll file which I couldn't find anywhere and decided to give up on it...
Thank you for your help and now I know I am not going to be bricked anymore as I have this method to work with in future issues and am her waiting badly for Xposed to be available for Nougat.

Good to hear that, You are welcome,
And as you mentioned about "device is corrupted and won't boot", that's because you locked bootloader. And as you were using twrp which means modified system partition so phone said that. But you can still go to download mode and use the method to make it live or can try unlocking bootloader to start twrp.
I experienced similar situation. I thought I had to send my phone for repair. As I was able to put the phone to download mode, I used uppercut with downloaded kdz file from LG G5 development thread and restored my phone. I didn't use my phone for four days thinking that I had to take to a phone shop or send to service center. But after careful reading of unbrick tutorials, I brought my phone back to life. Now I can play flashing anything as I am confident that I can easily unbrick my phone.

A few days ago I got my G5 H830 and came with version 6.0.1 h83010i, looking for information on how to install custom rom, I read the post to install the .TOT file to be able to install TWRP and through this the Custom Rom, until there is Everything okay, I did everything right, but then I decided to go back to the Rom stock, on the night of that same day I saw that when I reboot my cell phone it stuck on the LG logo and it had some color pixels damaged (but no screen Damaged, if not because of small brick) then force a restart and continued the same, I did factory reset by stock recovery and then normal start, I went to sleep leaving it in 100% battery, and when I wake up in the morning the cell phone It is off, when I turn it on 5% and I get scared, then I wanted to go back to custom rom to leave those problems behind, but then when I install the TOT again and install the custom ROM it will restart half installed and any rom that installed it would stay Stuck and the LG logo and a bootloop until when it was flash the kdz several times until the cell did not want to ignite more, the pc does not recognize it or anything, I need help with this.
