I was running supernexus for a long time, but last night some drunk girl got her hands on my phone and afterwards, it would only get 1x or Wi-Fi, but no 3g/LTE. I recovered to an old Sense based rom I had and the 3g worked fine, so I downloaded the PAC-man rom and now I only get 1x. Any ideas on how to fix this? I would really prefer not to go back to a sense based rom

It's set to LTE/CDMA/EvDo
I realized that even when I go to sense, I don't really have 3g. It just says I do for some reason. But I get absolutely no data down. I think the internals may just be messed up. Guess I'll take it to a sprint store and see if they can fix it

Looking to see what some people are using for radio images with CM7.

I am using 47.63.35.21U_7.16.35.11. I am very happy with this one as it is much improved over stock radio. In downtown I usually get absolutely terrible 3G connection with the stock, but with this radio version I am able to actually get semi-decent 3G.
+1 - 47.63.35.21U_7.16.35.11 has been working very well for me.
Same here.

Yep, I have it installed on my spare Aria with 2.2.2
I believe that's the version that's part of the 2.2.2 RUU isn't it?

Probably is. I flashed a different radio and I have noticed poor performance gps wise.
You included a radio image in your thread I believe so I will try that one.

I am using the 35.11 radio too...my 3G coverage has been better, since switching to it, but my GPS has not as good since. It take me 1-2 mins atleast to lock the GPS in Maps every time I try it. It doesn't matter which ROM or fix I try, it locks slower, even consecutive lock with the same ROM.

Hello im kinda new to this so forgive my ignorance...
I just flashed CM7 v7.0.0RC4
just worth mentioning i wiped data reset wiped cache...forgot to wipe dalvik cache
any way flashed over fine and was working great i enabled 2g connection only because i dont have a data plan and dont want one but now my cell connection is kinda wacky it sends texts fine but calls dont work properly (drops them immediately) and signal reception is bad it will randomly drop signal for long periods of time.
Now will flashing a radio image fix this problem or have i don something wrong?
BTW have tried rebooting powering off my phone etc dosent work any ideas?
Okay so here's my deal. In my area I know that we have 4G, but my phone doesn't pick it up, its only on 3G. Sometimes if I play around with the hidden service menu I can pick up 4G but as soon as I send a text message, it switches to 1X until I reboot into CDMA+LTE/EVDo. Even when selecting that mode, I only pick up 3G even though I'm in a 4G area. Some background info: I'm on GB firmware and radios and running NeoMax 1.1 based on the latest leak. I'm also S-On. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Yeah, if you've tried everything else, you should run the RUU (your choice, but why not run the latest leak) and then do a factory reset from hboot...with the stock recovery. That has helped a lot of people.

Thanks for all the replies guys, but it's not a 4G outage issue with me. I have my dad's phone, which is a 4G vzw phone next to my phone, and his is on 4G while I'm on 3G. Should I try switching roms?

Alright well I'm trying to mess with the service menu again, rebooting it now and just cleared cache and dalvik. Gonna see if this does anything. If it doesn't, i'll factory reset in the morning.
turned out while changing radios to debug SMS delay I borked 4g. flashed stock recovery, cleared storage/factory reset, flashed amon ra,flashed random ics rom, xfer internal stuff I backed up,wiped everything, restored viperrez backup and all good with 4g working
I'm completely stock and this keeps happening to me randomly. Super frustrating when I know I normally have 4g and it happens (home, work, anywhere)
I went in and they put in a new SIM but it still happens.

I've noticed on mine that I could have a strong roaming signal on Verizon, but if the phone even catches a whiff of a Sprint signal, it tries to switch to Sprint and data is lost. When it's doing that, roam only fixes it as you've noticed.

THat's what I am on. It seems it was better on 21085 and 21086. You can use QPST to change them, but again, I'm too lazy to do it.
Well if his phone roams fine in roam only mode, then the prl is fine.
What's likely happening is what Coal said. If your phone is on automatic, it tries it's hardest to stay on sprint at all times. Even if the signal is very very low, it will try to stay on it at all costs. Of course, we all know that's not how it should be, as that just kills the battery. I don't know if this is a rom issue or just a phone issue. You could try flashing back to a GB rom and see if it's any better.

It may be trying to stay on sprint but I literally was out of the sprint network for 3 hours and had no service, none. So I am leaning towards a ROM glitch or maybe radio but I dont know much about the radio part.

Maybe is is Android 4.0+ or the new firmware because I used to travel through a bad spot on the way to work and woudl roam, for a while now I just loose signal now even though I am on automatic.
After flashing Cyanogenmod 10.1 I have only been able to connect to 3G and cannot connect to 4G LTE. Does anyone know how to get LTE to work on Cm10.1?
Try doing a full wipe. Data/cache/dalvik, reflash CM.

Also be sure you have LTE enabled in your network settings.
Were you ever able to regain LTE? This has happened to me as well. I've tried flashing back to stock, changing settings using *#*#4636#*#*, and a couple of others. Still nothing. Hate the idea of relying on 3G.

This happened to me. I ended up getting a new sim card and that fixed the problem.
Try putting your Sim card in someone else's phone that has LTE. If they only get 3G, it's your card. Of they still get 4G, it's something else with your phone causing the problem.

Something similar is happening to me. I'm on Carbonrom 1.8. 4g just stopped working. Have been reading around trying to get fixes. Got a new SIM card from Verizon and it still didn't fix it.
In my phone status it says I'm on CDMA - eHRPD:14, I believe this indicates I truly am on 3g. If it were 13 it'd be 4g. I think I have that right. I haven't come across much that's helpful although it seems this isn't that rare of an issue. Trying to fix as much of it as I can on my own. I've yet to revert back to stock. Have tried going to Beanstown, that did more harm than good (broke sms and didn't go to 4g).

Beans ROM is basically stock if you went to that and still didn't have 4G then there is something wrong with your phone. Try the dialer fix (Dialing the number posted above) and if that doesn't work I would start thinking about a warranty replacement.

I wonder if this is something that happened because of the ROM/Root or if it would have happened anyway.

Most likely would have happened anyways. Rooting and ROMing don't touch the modems that control your cell signal.

Just rooted my Razr Maxx (had a rooted Droid X). Flashed CM 10.1, while on CM NO 4g, go back to stock ROM and DO have 4g. I've switched back and forth several times and remains the same.
Sounds like a CM problem, but hey, I'm no expert, pretty noob.

I had an issue similar to this once, and the only way I was totally able to fix things was tot'ing back to 10B...however, that was what I did as a last resort. I tried flashing updated modems, other roms, swapping sum cards even lol and finally did that and it fixed things. So obviously that's just a last resort.
Edit: One other thing I'll add is that after restart I would easily get 4g, it would always just drop to 3g after ~30 seconds and never recover. Those were the symptoms I was seeing.
