Does anyone know that does the Bamboo Stylus Feel (Electromagnetic resonance pen) compatible with the Xperia Z2 Tablet?
If not, any suggestion for a stylus for Z2?
I'm thinking of a Bamboo Stylus, but I wonder if the accuracy will be good.

Got a Wacom Bamboo Stylus Duo yesterday, does not work with it at all! You have to put a lot of pressure on it for it to even detect a dot.
I'm returning the stylus today, going to wait until someone, be it a mod or Sony themselves, fix this.
try to enable glove mode on settings
I can draw with a simple pencil

I have exactly the same problem with exactly the same configuration:"z2 tablet and bamboo duo". Needed a huge pressure to work. How did you solve it? Were you able to work with any stylus at all? I also tried with adonit jot pro, and had exactly the same issue: lot of pressure required, and when I say a lot it means a lot, not workable at all. DOES ANYONE IS ABLE TO SATISFACTORY WORKING WITH A STYLUS ON THE Z2 TABLET? Any configuration issue I'm missing? Thanks for any feedback

nope, buy samsung if you need a stylus or keyboard. I have the same problem
Just updated my tablet to 17.1.2.A.0.314, and feels good to finaly be able to use a stylus on it.
It's not perfect but alot better then before then i had to push really hard to get any sort of response with a stylus. The small issues i have using stylus now could be due to the stylus it self, i many times leaning it a bit to left or right and it dont always do as i wanted, but could be that im using a thinner stylus then i used to have, so not enough of it are in contact with the tablet.
Speedlink Quill Touchscreen Pen, for about 8eur.
When Sony announced the Xperia Z Ultra at the end of last summer, one of the big features was the fact that you could use pretty much any pen or pencil as stylus input for that 6.44-inch display. Well it appears that both the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet will also have this feature.I'm loving my Xperia Compact and will buy this too. If they could just slightly shrink the top and bottom bezels and have a plastic or Aluminum back on the phone it would make it lighter too.

What stylus do you recomend to sony s, i want to right notes from classes

All of the ones that I know of have a rubber piece at the end and are not suitable for hand writing.
What I don't know is if the new Samsung firm stylus would work.
Hi guy! I've the typical cheap stylus, but I don't recommend you to take notes (I'm in university and it isn't easy to keep pace with him hehe).
A very good pencil is the Adonit jot, I haven't tried it but I've readed that is very good! But is very expensive too...

Later, to take notes I recommend you the FreeNotes apk....is very easy and, for me, the best apk for this!! hehe. Free in the PlayStore!
Sorry for my english, I'm Spanish...
The best stylus for handwriting on the Sony S tablet that I've found found is the just mobile Allupen. It does take some getting used to and there is a slight delay. It is the only rubber tipped stylus I've run into that you can write with. Also your mileage may very depending on what app you're using to take notes. My personal fave is Freenote.
The adonit Jot works well too, but I thinks it's more suitable for drawing than writing as it will constantly be clicking against your screen if you even write moderately fast. Good for cursive though.
Another good option is the fabric tipped gogo stylus it's exactly the same as the fabric tipped aponyo stylus, but it's a little cheaper.
With any of these you have to get used to writing with them. It's not like writing with a pen. Also all the palm rejection software I've run into has been less then thrilling. I just wear fingerless gloves to solve that problem.
Good luck!
works great

I just got the Adoint Jot and it works fairly well,
http://adonit.net/product/jot/
I'm surprised people have gotten any stylus to work with the Tablet S. I've tried two different iFaraday styluses, which are supposed to be the most sensitive stylus available, as well as a Boxwave rubber tipped stylus, and a dirt cheap generic Ebay rubber tipped stylus. All of these tips trigger a strange constant double tapping action just by touching the tip to the screen. Extremely annoying when in the browser as this causes the screen to constantly zoom in and out. I pretty much just assumed the Tablet S screen simply can't handle styluses.

Definitive list of working stylus - Sony Tablet S
Guys i was thinking that we need a definitive list of what stylus actually work on the Sony Tablet S capacitive screen. Im going to start a new thread on this with a link to here. Hope you guys are cool with me using the stylus info provided already.

OK Guys spent the last few hours researching the stylus screen issue after i received my Kuel H12 capacitive stylus for use with sketchbook pro, which didn't work
So I decided that we need a definitive list of what stylus actually work on the Sony Tablet S capacitive screen.
So please post what stylus you have tried and list their performance or short review so other sony tab users (like me) don't wast £20 on a sh~ty stylus' that don't work. It would also be helpful if you noted if its with or without a screen protector or if you've carried out the Factory screen protector Mod referenced below.
Doesn't work or poor performance(ie unusable)
Kuel H12 - jb2001 WOP
iFaraday - Elsydeon
Boxwave rubber tipped - Elsydeon
generic "noname" Ebay rubber tipped stylus - Elsydeon
Targus Stylus for Sony Tablets - reviews on sony website are dire so i have added herehttp://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/st...0151&langId=-1&partNumber=TRAMM01TBUS#reviewshttp://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/st...0151&langId=-1&partNumber=TRAMM01TBUS#reviews
GT MAX - weretant poor performance
Unconfirmed but reported to Work, performance tested by one member only
Just Mobile AluPen - heitea
fabric tipped gogo/aponyo stylus - heitea
Griffin stylus, GC17125 - mipuel
Groov-e GVCP2 - wickwire
Bamboo rubber tipped stylus - kandemirb post # 2 - some issues
Gomadic Precision Tip Capacitive Stylus - Caraddicted1989 WOP
Mfit Pick Style Stylus Touch Pen Screen Cleaner - eliasho
Mediasonic MLG-6065TS BlackBox Stylus Touch Pen - eliasho interesting comment "WORKS PERFECTLY WELL" see post # 15 was hoping to try and pick one of these up to test, If i can get one cheaply in the UK i'll give it a blast, refuse to pay $5 postage on a $5 stylus
Compatible status, is a stylus that has been confirmed to work by more than one member or/and by myself
Adonit Jot - dtaylorr, jb2001 - stylus does work, and the build quality feels excellent however i felt there were still sensitivity issues when writing and i did have issues with parts of words not registering, parts of lines missing etc, found it frustrating trying to take notes during meetings, and on more than one occasion ended up using the keyboard.
Griffin stylus pen, GC16040 - wickwire, jb2001, stylus does work, although sensitivity again was the issue again, felt I had to put alot of pressure on the screen to ensure the stylus worked correctly, writing was uncomfortable due to the pressure placed on the rubber nib although i did find it a bit better for drawing.
100% Compatible status - Works perfectly for writing/drawing
Im not sure there will ever be one ... blame Sony's touch screen.
WP - With after-market Screen Protector
WOP - Without Screen Protector (factory film installed)
BG - Without sony factory or after-market Screen Protector (ie Bare Glass only)

I have a Bamboo rubber tipped stylus which works ok. It's not perfect and not really precise for using with Sketchbook (the lines get interrupted etc.), but it does the job while handwriting. But still, you have to press it hard and there are occasional double clicks.

thanks kandemirb.. added to my list
mine
1- Adonit Jot
I got mine about 3 weeks ago and love it. Not as fluid as a finger, but usable. Handwriting is not perfect, wish it was more fluid.
I don't use mine a lot, but it is great to know it is there when I want it.
2- Generic rubber tipped stylus
I will also report on the rubber tipped generic Ebay stylus. It is useful if you simply want to press a button, but that is about it since there is no drag capability. Gave mine away.
3-Random thoughts
What is funny to me was that I began my journey into smartphones back in the late 90's and Window's Mobile devices. All of those devices had pressure sensitive screens and they all came with a built in stylus.
Then along came the Iphone and the big push that you did not want or need a stylus and you felt lame if you had one. For the past few years no phone or devices has had one. Now all of a sudden Samsung comes out with a line and makes stylus' cool again.
Any news on the Adonit Jot? I'm looking to buy one...

Gomadic Precision Tip Capacitive Stylus
Hello,
Thanks for compiling the list!
You can add Gomadic Precision Tip Capacitive Stylus from Amazon to the list. I'm not using a screen protector with it and it's working fairly well with moderate pressure on the pen. It's squishing the tip a lot though, which makes me wonder if at some point it will break, but for now it's working pretty well and it has a pen which is great for me.
Thanks again!
I'm thinking of venturing out and attempting to make a descent stylus myself with machined components. If i do it i'll post a picture and give all details. The hardest thing to get over is the amount of pressure you have to apply with the stylus.
DAGi P504
Thanks for the list.
Did anyone tried the DAGi P504 available on ebay for like 20$?
Thanks,
Hi guys I am from Hong Kong and i found, not exactly a pen shape stylu, but it works great on sony tablet s.
it's a korean brand called mfit, cleaner style pen
Don't bother about the content, look at the strokes, all nicely drawn.
I'd say this is the best one i'd ever used on a tablet S, however, not in pen shape makes it not easy to draw as comfortable.
a Stylus works on Sony tablet s
Hay guys, I just bought a "Mediasonic MLG-6065TS BlackBox Stylus Touch Pen" and it WORKS PERFECTLY WELL on a tablet s!! You may wanna give it a try.
I got a stylus called Trent Arcadia Click Pen from Amazon that works pretty good. It's squishy with a micro-knit fabric cover which glides along the screen nicely. They are kind of small though and very squishy, so you would want to be careful not to tap too hard or you will jab your screen with the hard part of the pen surrounding the tip. It's not 100% perfect because it will cause breaks in your line if you let up on the pressure too much...and sometimes I have to tap two or three times for a response. I would say it's 80-90% effective. I will also say this is the first stylus I've tried and don't have anything to compare it to.
brush-tip stylus works
I finally settled with a brush-tip stylus for my Sony Tablet S after numerous trials with rubber-tipped ones. My hypothesis is that compared to my fingers, most rubber-tipped pen creates a touch area that is too small to be recognized by this tablet's screen. A brush-tip's hair spread out and makes a much larger contact area. There are a few models of such stylus available, I bought two of them and both work fine.
DAGI works great
After disappointment with performance of Wacom stylus (works great on iPad though), I bought one that works great on Sony Tablet S: DAGi P504. $20 on eBay.
People at DAGI sent me for free another one that actually works even better (P301). My tablet is the original one (not new Xperia branded).

Hey there. I come to see this post now, as I finally managed to remove the stock screen protector. I have the origina (non-xperia) s tab too and can never find a working stylus. Whats your feedback for the Dagi 504? I really wanna get into drawing with this tab, since I might not be able to purchase another for a wile. Does it glide smoothly? Do lines break? etc.

XTZ does not support active styluses like s-pen from samsung, it can only detect a passive stylus...
passive styluses don't come with a fine edge so don't think that any decent work can be done with the stylus like writing notes or something.
Any standard capacitive stylus should work with it, and I find ASUS' stylus headset and a cheap stylus both work. Pressure sensitive types that require bluetooth may be problematic.

Any capacitive stylus _should_ work. I recommend the Wacom Bamboo Solo stylus. It's pretty good, but still not as good as an active stylus like the ones the Samsung Note series uses.

So I'm on the fence between the Adonit Jot Pro and the Dagi p505 styluses for my XTZ. I've been told and saw that people have problems with styluses from these two companies where the disk scratch the living hell out of the screen. Hearing that kind of put me off on buying either one til I find a stylus that won't scratch. I am looking for something with a fine tip which the p505 and Jot Pro provide but that scratch worries me. Oh and shouldn't the scratch resistant screen have no problem with them? Also, if anyone has any luck with any other styluses please let me know here or PM me. I'll be using it for taking notes and drawing occasionally.

I bought the adonit jot Pro and it works fine with the tablet BUT I'm also using xtremeguard's screen protector and the stylus gets stucked with the screen protector.
I think your screen will be fine as long as you use a screen protector because it's true some dust might get under the tip of the stylus so probably it might scratch the naked screen.
I think a cheaper screen protector might be the solution (but unfortunately in Mexico they are hard to find for this device).

in the beginning it did a bit but after using it for a while it glides flawlessly like it was on glass. one thing I have to complain about if anything is that sometimes when I am writing notes or something, the screen would not pick up the pen in a certain area so I would have wipe that spot and it would work again. I don't know why that is but it isn't much of a bother.
Hi guys, right now I'm also on the look for a new stylus with a finer tip for my Xperia Tablet Z. I am getting more and more into drawing with the tablet and the inexpensive styluses with the chunky rubber tips are not cutting it for me anymore.
I just got the Adonit Jot Pro (3rd generation) on the weekend and I was immediately excited witht the new level of precision it allows. The moving plastic cap can be a bit clumsy at times but the added precision is worth the hassle.
Unfortunately the Jot Pro mysteriously "lost" its sensitivity in the next day. It would only register contact with the tablet when applying a lot of pressure. Maybe the stylus was defect or I just didn't notice this on the first day because of my excitement with the fine tip but I ended up sending it back and now I'm looking for a replacement.
Can anyone recommend an precision stylus for me? I am considering the following devices:
- Wacom Bamboo Fineline
- Adonit Jot Script
- Targus Stylus for Samsung
- Dell Active Stylus
- Samsung Stylus (3-Tip) for Galaxy S3
- Sony Digitizer Stylus for VAIO Duo11

Hi, how is your Jot Pro now? My friend owns a Dell Active Stylus and surprisingly it doesn't work on my XTZ.
I bought a cheap China versin 2 mm finetip active stylus and is working fair. Price was at USD 30...
After returning the Jot Pro I never got another one but as far I can tell I can confirm that it doesn't work with the Xperia Tablet Z. In the meantime I did a lot further research on the topic and I'm afraid to say that it all came to nothing. At least until the end of 2014 there was really no stylus with a fine tip on the market that would work on this device. The best results I got was with the Wacom Bamboo but it also has serious issues with diagonal wavy lines
I now own the Xperia Tablet Z2 but the situation is pretty much the same. No good stylus. I also contacted Sony asking for advice and they answered me that there is no stylus officially supported for this product. I am now using an cheap and ugly big rubber tip stylus to draw

strange that it worked for one day and then not.
Good Luck with finding one that works good.:fingers-crossed:
Update: I just ordered the "ReGear Pro Stylus" and it looks very good so far. Here is my short feedback on the Xperia Tablet Z2:
- Fine tip!
- Excellent responsiveness. Always recognized by the device and absolutely no broken lines
- Very good hold and feel.
- No Bluetooth needed.
- Runs on regular AAA batteries.
Of course it's still not perfect since drawing slowly in diagonals still causes the infamous "wavy" lines but it's certainly the best stylus I ever had so far, hands down!
which stylus is the best one to write on onenote app?
Hi
I know that there is a thread for Bluetooth keyboard cases but i wanted one with a trackpad also
I have seen a coup,le on amazon for the UK but obviously none are for the Sony
has anyone got any experience on these as to if they would fit or work ?
The one is for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 ( the Dimensions of the note are H180xW262)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/TPC-Tech-To...1-11&keywords=galaxy+note+10.1+bluetooth+case
and the one for the surface Pro (the Dimensions of the Surface are H172xW275)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-K...91431137&sr=1-3&keywords=surface+pro+keyboard
as the sony is H172xW266 the note is close by 4mm and the surface case is a bit too big but i assume that in either case i can make it fit
The surface case seems to be the easiest as the tablet just fits in with the 4 straps but does anyone know if the surface Keyboard and Trackpad will be compatible with Android
Thanks
hi
I went ahead and purchased the keyboard and touchpad combo for the surface pro and it fits and works perfectly
obviously some of the keys are for windows but thats not a massive issue but the touchpad is brilliant just a little on the small size
but for the money its certainly worth it

Does the touchpad work?
If so, what happens on the display? is there a mous pointer?
Yes it works perfect and there is a mouse pointer on the screen
