Both my WiFi and LTE are on at the same time whenever I'm connected to WiFi. Every other phone I've had the LTE data connection will not necessarily turn off, but become passive. Is this normal on the one or is something turned on that needs to be turned off?

That's odd. Must be a sense 6 thing then. I know it wasn't like that on my m7 last year. Kind of wish it wouldn't do this because it's just one more thing cluttering the already cluttered android status bar.

The LTE connection should be off if Wi-Fi is on. The only time I ever see the transfer bars on that LTE icon while Wi-Fi is on is when I'm receiving an MMS.
I think that icon signifies a "standby connection" to the LTE network while Wi-Fi is enabled, but I'm not sure. It all depends on what the stock battery icon pack looks like and what icon corresponds to what connection state.
theres a mod somewhere that removes the LTE icon when connected to wifi...
let me see if i can find it
edit:
if your rooted, download xposed statusbar mods (must have xposed framework
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.dr8.sbicons.sense
open up the app, go into Icon Settings > Carrier Selection > select International (auto hides data on Wifi)

The LTE icon must means a signal is present, not that its being used for data transfer. This is normal and common for most devices (don't know about iPhones).

With the new Sprint Voicemail, if you accidentally delete the voicemail, you can recover it. By default it's not removed from the phone permanently for 30 days, which you can shorten the timeframe.

So they are turning up LTE in Houston this weekend, how do you know you are connected to LTE. Is there any other way than, Settings/Mobile Network/4g Settings. I am assuming I will see an IP address once I am connected. Are there any apps or other ways to know?

Make sure you are on that band in settings and when your connected you will have a 4g icon where the 3g one normally is

Thanks Fernando. Yep set on the LTE/CMDA band. I had heard a rumor that Sprint was sending out a text to all LTE ready customers when they turn it up which would then require you to do a update to get the signal, I saw that in print somewhere. but obviously I can't confirm that at this point.......but soon

I am in DFW and I have been getting 4G for the last 20 mins or so and I did not need any update or anything it just started connecting to 4G.. switched back and forth a few times for a few mins. It has stayed 4G now for about 10 mins.
4G in Houston is live.

Heh. I think I got 8 or 9 alerts yesterday for flash flooding and thunderstorms but I've not seen a drop of rain in the past 48 hours. Anyways, I turned off severe alerts but left extreme and amber alerts on. Plus, I was wondering why I couldn't turn off "Presidential Alerts" and here's why:

You can delete the sounds from /system/media/somefolder
I forget the folder name (might be mms) but there are a few audio files you can delete if you want the alerts but want them silent.

That's because the tegra 3 uses 5 cores not 4. The 5th core is a very low frequency "companion core" that is used for background or low resource tasks

I have this too, here i thought i was deleting too much bloat from the system. But apparently not. IMO, i think its Android 4.4.2 and T-Mobile. I had this issue happen on all 4.4.2 ROMs even on my S4. It didn't happen until i flashed the 4.4.2 ROMs. So I think T-Mobile may have made a mistake in their coding when making the update. Lets see what the next update will bring. I wonder how we could even bring up this issue to them because i guarantee you they will claim its the device.
Don't remember because i have been on 4.4.2 forever, and i can't check because theres no other option besides for buggy aosp, but there have been a few updates within 4.4.2 like NF6 which added VoLTE...
Btw if this is a common problem something should be done... This really f*king sucks
Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
