[Q] SOLVED Phone stuck on emergency calls only?! (Blocked IMEI) - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yesterday on my way to my cabin my phone stopped connecting to network. I can't call, send messages and can't use mobile data. I tried to which sim card with a friend, but that didn't work. Is my phone damaged or is it just an error on the network?

EDIT: After flashing Xperianze ROM my phone had got the IMEI of a stolen S II in Kenya. Since the phone which had this IMEI was stolen it was blacklisted. So if you find out that your IMEI is changed simply use Kies to flash stock. Then your orginal IMEI is going to be restored!

Use these two links to check your IMEI:
Link 1 - http://swappa.com/esn
Link 2 - http://www.imeidetective.com/
Do check on both sites!

[Q] No Outgoing/Incoming Calls / SMS

when dailing to phone its just output busy signal.

3.Rooted/Custom ROm installed.
4.Phone see the Sim Card Carrier.
5.Mobile Network state is unaviable.
6.Serial Number is unknown

Try a different modem. Here is the modem thread!
All are CWM flashable and there are specific modems for Three and Orange available.
well i tried serveral modems and still the same result
if it the phone was decleared as Stolen is it possible the effect
if so can it be fixed?
full wipe and try again
also had the same problem, you probably flashed a rom on your previous rom
or maybe the rom doesnt get your apn's.
try full wipe and flash rom again, for me it did the work
First you need to know where your friend got it from.
1.If its possibly a stolen phone then it may be locked by IMEI by the last carrier used. That makes it completely useless.A phone locked by a carrier once declared stolen can not be fixed.
2.If when flashing the custom ROM the IMEI or EFS folder has been corrupt or wiped then it wont make or receive calls.
Check the IMEI number (*#06#) and make sure its the same as the one behind the battery. If it is and your friend found the phone then it may be locked as a stolen phone.
well the IMEI behind the battery is similar with the phone IMEI..
what do i need to do in order to make the phone to output/input calls?
So basically it sounds like a stolen phone, in which case you can do nothing and you will get no further help from me or this forum.
well thank you ill return it to my friend ..
It has to be the same not similar. If its only similar then its corrupt from a bad flash and can be fixed but if its the same then yes Im afraid as posted above it does sound like a locked stolen device.

[Q] Not Registered on the Network

Hi Guys
I updated my S3 to a small critical update, not 4.1.2 and it was a OTA update and now the phone will not make a call, it keeps displaying " not registered to the Network" but it has a data connection i am able to surf the net, I have checked and the phone is not blocked or on the blacklist or reported stolen but I had unlocked the phone via Unlocker.com a few months ago.No UK SIM i.e. (Vodafone Tmobile Three) will make a call through my phone
I have
Wiped Device to factory settings
Flashed a stock rom JB I9300 4.1.2
Flashed Custom Rom "I9300_Omega_v4.2_AOKP_Milestone_1_Jelly_Bean"
Flashed my Operator Rom back on
I have not backed up my EFS Folder and would not know how to
Reset flash counter
Now My IMEI number has changed but on the IMEI SV number, on the back of my phone the IMEI number ends with a ***** /09 but now I have flashed it ends with a /06 .... will that cause a issue, The long SIM number has not changed on the phone.
any suggestions please as I fear that if I send it off to samsung they will not fix as the IMEI SV number has changed and will charge me as they will sate it is out of warranty

Unable to Register On network

Hi this is starting to really bug me now Im unable to register on a network I get signal bars but only get emergency calls only tried dfferent sim cards and reverted back to latest official stock to no avail any suggestions please
As per multiple identical posts .
First is your IMEI correct
Are your mobile network settings correct
sim card correct and tested
correct modem and csc.
jje
Check your IMEI number. Sometimes, when we flash custom ROM, the phone looses its IMEI number. If it's true, you must use an EFS backup to restore it.
Second solution : your mobile phone was blacklisted (if it was considered as stollen).
Network
Hi thanks for the reply I have been searching I've checked my imei in status and it matches details under battery compartment i'm still paying for the phone (pay weekly) so no reason it would be blacklisted ok just tried another different sim card on Vodafone official s3 stock rom and it registered hmmm im on talktalk which uses voda I know this sim works but i'll get them to send me a new one thanks for your time guys

[Q] GT-i9300 No network

Hi all,
I am new to this forum. I have a Galaxy SIII GT-i9300 with Cyanogenmod 10.2. Last weekend I went out of range from the network in to the country side. When I came back to the city my phone would not connect back to the network. I tried to manually register it to the network Vodafone NZ but it just says "Cant connect to this network try again later. Ive tried to take out battery and sim card and sd card but no luck. I also restored my phone back to my last back up but still no luck. Just wanted to try something before I reset it. Wifi works fine.
Baseband version I9300XXELLA
Signal strength -81dBm 17asu
mobile network type HSDPA
Service state out of service
IMEI SV 01
Could it be the modem? Everything was working fine before I went out of range.
I know the IMEI number plays up but mine is ok.
Please help.
Don't post your imei number, it's like putting your bank details on the internet.
Try different sim and your sim in another phone, then wipe and flash full stock rom with odin to test for hardware fault.

Thanks for that I removed my IMEI number.
I tested my sim in another phone it worked but the other sim didnt work in my phone.
Ive formatted my phone and flashed a stock rom the network bars did come up when I was doing the initial setup but afterwards it went off.
I am able to search for the networks but not register on to it.
Ive read alot of forums and they are all talking about wrong IMEI and serial number but mine match up to the back of the phone.
Your sim reader is faulty.

It is detecting that there is a sim as when I take it out it says no sim and when I put it back in the notification goes away.
But that might be on the right lines as when theres no sim the signal bars seems to fluctuate and when I put it back in it goes away.
Ive flashed another stock rom but its a Great Britain version but it matched up to my baseband and it did a few updates and now my baseband has changed. Now when I press "select automatically" it says registered to network but nothing happens and doesn't register to Vodafone nz. So I dont think theres anything wrong with the modem.
How would I go about checking the sim reader?
Thanks for all thr help much appreciated
You already have, 'other sim didn't work in my phone'. Take it to a service centre.
