I tried to use overstock firmware(I forgot the version) with odin, but it failed to upload firmware and the phone never boot further, only shows "Overstock smaller, lighter, Faster" and stopped.
I tried to enter download mode, but I can't proceed anymore. I pressed " volume up/down+ power " key but the screen stuck and never go further.
I'm not a fluent English speaker.
please help me.

Hi guys!
I was trying to flash froyo on my galaxy s with odin (original ROM eclair 2.1, bought the phone 2 weeks ago). To do so I got it into download mode via "adb reboot download" cause buttons combinations dont work on my phone. I checked the Re-partition in Odin, set PIT, PDA, PHONE and CSC, pressed start and Odin got stuck at "DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET" (after it did "file analisys.." and "set pit.."). After 15 minutes nothing happened, computer and phone weren't doing anything it seemed, so I turned the phone off.
I tried to boot but all I could get is the image of a phone and a computer on the screen. I tried pulling out the battery and get it into recovery and download mode with buttons combination but it doesn't work. Odis and adb won't find it if I plug it into the usb.
I believe there must be a way to flash the original ROM back!! I have a backup done with ROM Manager (ClockworkMod), and I have SDK & JDK installed on computer if that could be useful (I know nothing about them though). Anybody can help? Anything guys, I really appreciate and I thank you very much!

I had this. Odin got part of the way there and then froze. You have to get into Download mode. You can do this by holding Volume Up (down if that doesn't work) and home key (keep holding), and then holding down power for 7 seconds for a forced reset. Let go of power as soon as the screen goes blank and it should start directly into Download mode.
Make sure you have Odin v1.3 and try to reinstall 2.1 or 2.2. It worked for me after that.
i have the same problem plaese help ???
I am trying to un-softbrick my Galaxy S Vibrant. I attempted (Following the guide to a damn T) to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192438 the RevolutionRom on a stock (factor reset, stock firmware) phone.
Odin rebooted the phone, the Bullet installer voice played various messages. On one of the reboots the voice now just repeats "Convert data partition, not enough space on partition".
What I have tried:
Cannot access Download mode. (holding +/- on usb plugin just shows the battery level and the voice plays the message during)
Cannot load into recovery mode (boots back into Bullet screen, replays message).
How do I get this phone back to normal? I underestimated the "simple noob" directions posted on that thread, apparently it's not a 100% term.
Edit: I feel like this is the point where I need to invest in a hardware jig. The phone will only go into the charging screen or the bullet loading screen and the annoying voice. Recovery mode and/or download mode are inaccessible. i have tried every method posting and 3 button combo, no luck on download mode.
Does this sound like a hardware lock? I am really hoping this is recoverable. Thanks.
Some additional info (steps I took to get to this point)
Phone was previously in "stock" condition i.e. still had Avatar on the screen.
1.) Factory Reset (allow phone to boot)
2.) Power Off
3.) Vol +/Vol + usb cable (Download mode)
4.) Fire up Odin3_v1.0
5.) unplug and replug usb (odin reports com3 open)
6.) download RevolutionJVQFinalUpdate2OdinWITHBOOTLOADERS.tar.md5
7.) click "PDA" navigate to the above download
8.) leave all other buttons checked as default in Odin (Auto Reboot, F Reset Time)
9.) hit start, wait
10.) Odin did the md5 check, uploaded some files, and rebooted the phone, after that the phone played a message similar to "creating partition, please wait 2 minutes"
11.) after 1-2 restarts, the phone started looping, saying "convert partition, not enough space on partition".
12.) above post is post issue diagnostic
I am more curious as to what I did "wrong" than anything else. I see if this is a hardware issue a jig can be used to access download mode. Just not sure why the three button salute puts me in this weird charging + "convert partition, not enough space" combo. It doesn't seem like the phone is super bricked, but it doesn't match any searched for symptoms I have seen with HWL phones either.
Expert advice appreciated!
got it!.
Wow.
So the revolutionrom is apparently european based. I had to use VOL+ and USB cable to enter download mode. Worked on the first try. Time to odin back to stock and find a new rom.
Hope this helps someone.
I believe that means you are using the Gingerbread bootloaders. Power or USB + Volume Up is Download Mode, and Power or USB + Volume Down is Recovery Mode.
Ahh that explains it.
I just used odin to reflash the stock PIT and tmobile T959UVjI6 rom to it, and it still shows this behavior (vol + to recover, and the sim card won't read now).
I can get a rom to boot now at least
Do I need to check "re-partition"? I assumed the PIT file forced a re format.
NM got it. Froyo bootloader installed, all back to stock, SIM recognized.
Now I am just gonna use cyanogenmod's installation process ha.
Thanks for the tip, pointed me in the perfect direction.
I normally do. But I would also grab the stock JFD odin tar and use that instead of JI6.
Hi everybody,
I was on Bionix V Fishman Mod Final Update 3 until yesterday. I then decided to flash CM9 latest nightly rom so I disabled voodoo and flashed it.
The rom worked but I wanted to go back to another rom. I couldn't enter recovery mode through the button combos so I entered with the adb command.
I tried flashing two different roms but I got this error:
Amend scripting (update-script)is no longer supported
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
Installation aborted.
Then after a couple of more tries in the recovery I tried reboot the phone but then it got stuck on the first screen, the one that came with GB bootloader I installed a while back.
Download mode doesn't work either. Is there any thing I can do?
Thanks everyone!
hi,
AFAIK you can go back to stock using Odin. Try these steps to go back to download mode.
Open Odin
Pull the battery out
Plug the usb into the computer (dont connect the other end to the phone yet)
Now hold BOTH volume keys (UP + DOWN) and plug the usb to the phone
While pressing volume buttons insert the battery
OR try One-Click Unbrick
You can FIND more about going back to stock [including links] from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13132341#post13132341

I can't enter download mode using that method.
One-Click Unbrick didn't work, It gave a message saying : Is your phone plugged in? is it in download/softbrick mode?....
How do I know if it's soft brick? The only screen I see says: "ANDROID -AdyScorpius-"
Any other ideas?
Do you have samsung USB drivers installed
EDIT: If none of above works Im sure anybody will help you out..
I hope so... thanks anyway haarsh!

Listen to haarsh, he is correct. Just so you know, you do not have to have the Android with the shovel in the download screen to be in "actual" download mode. When you have Odin open and do the steps above, what you are really looking for is that Com: screen to light up Yellow. Then you are in download mode.
FYI, as long as you have power and are at the very least getting to the bootloader screen, you can recover. Just tread lightly bc screwing with the bootloaders is one of the sure-fire ways to HardBrick your device.
woody to the rescue... thnx brother

I tried to do that now and the only response the phone does is show that litle circle of radial lines which means he is charging.
Odin doesn't recognize and the com doesn't light up.
Just curious but what two ROMs did you flash that threw the error in your OP? Were they ICS ROMs or did you try and play it safe and flash Fish's Bionix again?
Keep trying to get into download mode by using the key combo of Volume Up and Power (since you are on GB bl's). You have power so you can get out of it but it might take more than a few tries.
Edit:
***----> I am having all kinds of trouble with my browser today at work, so if I don't respond right quick, that is why. But I'll get back to you or some others out there can help.
OK I got into download mode! as a matter of fact I forgot about this method of just volume up and power and it succeeded the first time.
Thank you very much to the both of you, sorry for all the trouble...
Why is that sometimes when i turn-on my phone, it boot to download mode without pressing anything just power button.
Please help.
:crying:
It must be telling you that you've flash some sh*t that wasn't meant for it.
Flash a ROM and make sure it's your device's model ROM.
