To change the resoultion and to make the dialer take up the whole screen .. Just change the LCD density to 120 using build.pro editor or change the value of this line : ro.sf.lcd_density = 100 to 120 ....

in a ROM what do you like your DPI at???
if its not 100, 120, or 160 then please put in the comments
That is more or less a personal preference I think. Starting a Rom at 160 dpi then let them choose with a density changing app from the market. Or offer both 120 and 160 or even the option to change the density withing the Rom through a Rom control setting like they did on the DRH ICS. Putting the density at a 100 scale is just having the UI set to small. Best stick with 120 or 160.
Hey I Have Ported A Rom to My Device Having Rosolution of 240 x 320 But Now ported rom's app drawer not fitting to screen and lock screen not at center .
i there is any way to fix it ?
try increasing or decreasing the DPI just add ro.sf.lcd_density= (watever dpi you want) check you stock ppi just third party apps like cpuz or anythings reliable
in your case your case you wanna reduce the size of the app drawer try decreasing the DPI value from stock so lets say if you have a dpi of 200 at stock get it down to 180 dpi or still big then 160 dpi reduce it till you think the app drawer fits your screen perfect you will have problems with the dialer just ask for help about it even i could not figure out how to resize the dialer
This question is for rooted Moto E users only. Can you please check the build.prop file located at /system/ and check the value of "ro.sf.lcd_density" (located towards the lower end of the file)?
That's the default lcd density or dpi. If you are sure you have never modified that value, then I kindly request you to check the value because I have been playing around with the LCD density value a lot and thus I forgot the default value. :/

The default is 240
I just thought I would give everyone a warning about changing LCD density with "adb shell wm density XXX"
(only applies to us non-rooted users -- rooted users can edit build.prop on the fly)
If you change the density, and then decide to check out the other resolutions like 720p and 1080p, it will fully erase your set density and return to stock resolution, even if you change the resolution back to stock (WQHD)
I myself didnt know this. I thought it would keep the resolution and recalculate the density, or reduce / increase the density based on the difference between WQHD. This is not the case.
So for those who set a custom density, DONT CHANGE RESOLUTION!
Hi all,
I updated dpi via ADB but it generates a side effect.
Screen size and resolution decrease instead of increase.
I reset the default values but adter that the splash screen resolution decreased (big pictures) and initial resolution (in my opinion) is not the same.
Can yiu share orifinal dpi values and original build.prop file? ( or file with resolution and dpi info).
Regards
Francesco
