Hi,
I flashed my desire X with the InsertCoin-2.2.0-rom. It started fine, but now will not start anymore after a shutdown.
When I plug it in, the LED stays orange. And after a while it vibrates 7 times. I cannot get it to boot to normal mode or recovery mode.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to solve this?

Looks like you're in bad luck and got a hard brick. You can't access fastboot mode? If yes, you could reflash recovery. Also, did you do the S-OFF?

Nope, can't access the bootloader (Vol down + Power right?) either. Out of luck I'm afraid. Bootloader was unlocked, think HTC will still repair this?

You can always try, it's all you've got. Just pretend you didn't know what happened to your phone, if you are in luck they will repair it for free (if you still have warranty).

OK, so after a night without the battery it came back to life. But it turns out I have the Desire X Dual-Sim version... I did not know there were 2 versions.
Does anyone know if a ROM (stock or Custom) can be found somewhere for the DS version?

Pull out your battery, put it back in, and try charging your phone for about 30 min without turning the phone on. Then try again. Report back.
Thanks.

Additional info: When the phone is "on" my computer recognizes it, and I can tell it to boot into bootloader using adb. The phone is 100% stock, hboot 1.5 s-on. Also, after the phone is on, and I hit the power button, the capacitive lights turn on, and they shut off once I hit the power button again, as if the screen was being turned on, but it just doesn't display anything.
Also, is there anything I can do to possibly get the display back on. Something like put a stock ruu on my sd card, name it PG86IMG.zip, reboot into bootloader, apply the ruu and perhaps that would bring my display back on? Or is it more likely hardware related which I will have to take the phone apart?
Having the phone on the charger while off didn't change anything. Now I am flashing the latest stock ruu, while it's updating the phone's display SHOULD be on showing the status of the update, but it's not displaying anything. The update completed, the phone rebooted on its own, but again, the display never turned on. Not sure what to try now..?

This happened to me when I flashed a incompatible kernel......now all you need to do is flash a Rom and also flash the boot.img from that ROMs zip using fastboot and you will be good to go.

is your phone's bootloader unlocked with htcdev.com?
If you haven't unlocked your phone yet then I can't say for sure if flashing Rom and kernel will work or.not......
If you haven't unlocked , just use a RUU.exe and your phone should be working again unless its a hardware issue

I rooted my Sprint HTC Evo 4glte and everything went fine, but I then I just installed 3DChainfire app without thinking.. installed it and when the phone restarted. My Phone would go to the Pamper page and after that it goes blank.
I would turn the power on and it would make my buttons flicker and then goes back to the pamper (HTC brillantly quiet) and shutsdown or goes black.
Is there anyways to reset the phone or somehow to get the phone back to the stock settings? Thank you for your help.
Looking on Chainfire3D on Market need Root which you have but S-OFF is also needed on HTC devices. After root did you also unlock bootloader? I am certainly novice but this might be the problem?
You can run the ruu it will take you back to stock, if you made a backup nows the time to use it.

After trying to run the RUU, it is stuck at reading the bootloader. After a minute or two it will say that the port or USB is not plugged in right. I plugged it in and everything is okay. It errors. My Phone screen will load and stay at the screen saying HTC.

Unfortunely I did not unlock the bootloader.
anyone able to help me? If there is any other solutions let me know? I also wonder if I bring it back to the store will they give me a new phone or no? Thank you.
Did you relock the bootloader before trying to run the RUU?
Through fastboot:
fastboot oem lock
Thanks everyone for helping me, I was able to find the solution to fixing my HTC EVO 4G LTE. I just had to load up the bootloader (by pressing power button+volume down button+ camera button) on my phone and reset it back to factory settings. Everyone works again now! Still ROOTED so good to go!
Hello, I accedentially discharged my phone really bad to the point where the red notification light flashes when I plug the phone in.
I know that I have to charge up the phone before doing anything, but HTC's settings are being a pain.
As soon as the minimum charge for booting is met, the phone just reboots straight away.
This leads to the phone trying to boot with about 0.0001% battery, and it dies in the process, and the charge goes up a little... and it loops again.
Is there any way to just simply stop the phone from booting?
EDIT:
Tried the following things:
Plugging it in for 2 seconds, then unplugging, repeat 100 times - Failed
Fastbooting every time the phone tries to boot, and selecting power down - Tried about 100 times and I see no future
Plug it in and try to hard reboot by holding power button until capacitive buttons flash 6 times, or

Trying now...
It didn't work, it doesn't get past "Quietly Brilliant".
I read guides, they all say to eject the battery...
I guess I will turn it off via fastboot, let it sit for some time, and charge it after some minutes. I will see what I can do...
So your device is unlocked, have recovery?

Yep. The phone is unlocked and has TWRP recovery.
The phone is in a complex situation. I have no clue when it died. It might have been when I was away when I was waiting for a ROM to install.
Someone please help me... I don't want a Tegra 3 paperweight X+ this early...
I read about people simply charging their phone while it is off in the One X forums, but what do I do if the phone keeps waking itself and commiting suicide?
P.S. Booting in to recovery doesn't work... It goes as far as the TeamWin splash screen before discharging.
Have you tried using a different charger? Maybe one from a tablet, with more throughput...

I would try this, but I don't have any other charger.
Should I buy one somewhere?
Edit:
Could you give me a link to a powerful charger?
From what I understand, your recovery controls your ability to charge your phone WHEN THE PHONE IS OFF, which is the case when you drain your battery to 0%.
It is also my understanding that TWRP for the OneX+ DOES NOT have the ability to charge your device in recovery...and since it controls the ability to charge the device when the device is turned off, your device cannot be charged when turned off with TWRP on the OneX+.
My last understanding is that in order to charge the OneX+ when the device is off the stock recovery must be installed.
All of this is just my understanding from every thing I have read. You may be better off looking for help in Lloir's Recovery thread for the OneX+.
Let us know if you get resolution!
Edit: A "stronger" charger isn't the answer.

So... do I use the RUU?
I have the EVITARE_UL_CINGULAIR RUU downloaded, I just gotta relock the thing and flash the stock recovery.
Where do I get the stock recovery? If I can get my hands on it, I can flash it after what seems to be a decade of fastbooting and powering off.

I believe if you can flash the RUU...that loads the stock recovery over TWRP. The prolblem is...I don't think you can flash an RUU without your device charged to at least 30%...I may be wrong....
EDIT:
Again, Lloir would be able to give you much better advice than I can!

I tried charging in Bootloader, it doesn't work.
I asked Lloid for help but the offline charging he suggested didn't work.
Edit:
I'm tired of hearing the phone boot-suicide every other second. Should I just send it in to HTC? How much would they charge for the battery fix?

Weird, the phone boots, the display turns off, but the phone then boots again, infinitely.
I don't know what I did that makes it do so.
I just have to find the AT&T stock recovery.img. I will post a new thread for that, marking this thread as "[Solved]".
Edit:
Once I find the stock recovery.img, I'm totally making a step-by-step unbricking guide.
I installed ROM to my Evo3D with Recovery. I restared phone and... it`s bricked.
I have s-off, so i can`t use Unbrick Project.
I must turn it on. Anyone can help me?
BTW. Sorry for my english. ; )
So nothing at all happens when you turn it on? Can you get into bootloader?

Same thing happened to me few days ago, luckily my phone is still under waranty, I hope yours is also.
If not, you'll either have to pay for repair or buy a new phone.

Sounds like a corrupt boot partition, is your boot loader unlocked? have you recently flashed a boot image?
Reflash with fastboot else use sony's update service to reflash firmware, if that don't work then your phone may be screwed?

I haven't flashed or done anything.
I've stayed well clear of anything like that with this phone.
It is on stock firmware.
Then your best bet is to use sony's update service, I think it is called pc companion and reflash your firmware, it will ask you to hold the down volume button and connect the USB cable and then it will return your phone back to factory. That's all I can think of else return the phone and get them to fix or replace it.
alright the phone just came back on by itself but it isn't charging.
Alrighty then.

Or yes i guess the red light could also indicate low battery, good thinking
and now it is charging because it jumped from 1% to 2%
so ye problem solved I guess I just hope to god I can find a way to put those things covering the charger port and sim card back on.
