Yes excellent. Any chance of also disabling the wireless message that pops up every time you wirelessly charge?

I don't get any on my N5. Maybe this is one of the funny things Samsung does :good: I don't have a Samsung to test it.

Yeah its a little dialogue box that flashes up when I put it on my wireless charger at night. Only lasts a few seconds but can have the potential to wake up my 8 month old son!

Now I need to use wireless charging so I can use this module.

Finally got a few wireless chargers so I am now downloading this module. Thanks!

On my S5, this disables one of the charging sounds, but I'm looking for a way to disable the other one... it's the little sound that goes "donk dink". The reason I want to kill this one is because I use a Qi car mount and sometimes charging will reactivate itself... which triggers that sound again. If I'm listening to music at the time that's really annoying because it actually lowers my volume for a second in addition to playing the sound.
Does anyone know how to disable THAT?
That said, I know I'm answering a very old post but the solution to the wireless charging notification disable is found in Wanam's module (the #1 must have module)

[Q] samsung desk dock and audio output

I bought on of the fancy desktop docks for my samsung vibrant... after reading the simple instructions on how it works yada yada... it simply says that the audio output on the dock will not work until they release a 2.2 rom... so what im wondering is why i cant for the life of me see any settings to switch it on in my jk6 rom or have they just not gotten around to implementing audio through the usb yet? and does anyone know if there is a mod to get it to work?
Nobodys had an issue like this yet?
I just received the official car and desk docks today (ordered from Samsung mobile accessories page).
I'm running FROYO.UVJK2 (Kernel 2.6.32.9).
When I put the phone in the car dock, a "Car Mode Activated" icon (looks like a steering wheel) shows up in the task bar. The 3.5mm audio jack on the back of the dock does not output audio (Bluetooth Audio works fine). Also, the "Car Home" app does not launch like I would have hoped (I downloaded this from the Market as it was not installed with this build).
The desk dock does even less than that. When I put the phone in the desk dock, there is no indication that its docked at all. The charging port does work, but like the car dock, the 3.5mm jack does nothing (apparently).
There was a small red sticker on the back of the car dock that said that the 3.5 mm "headphone jack" would only work with Android 2.2 and later.
I'm hoping to have the same experience I had with my Nexus 1 in the Google Car/Desk docks (automatically go into car/desk mode and audio ports become active).
I'll keep digging around and see if I can figure out whats going on .
Edits:
I should also add that I'm currently running LauncherPro with this build
Also, Perhaps this thread would get more interest if it was in the Accessories section?
Updated to jl5 and then to nero³ issues still exsist... why sell a product that doesnt work properly because of the lack of software support from your company.... and how does it know its a car dock as opposed to a normal charger?
With the car dock, the phone is definitely detecting the dock when it's connected. The "Car Mode" icon (Steering Wheel) appears on the notification bar. However, the Samsung "Car Home" app does not automatically launch.
The Desk Dock appears to be nothing more than a charging cradle. With the build I'm using now, the phone doesn't change modes in any discernable way, and when the phone is docked, and the dock is connected to the computer, it doesn't detect the device (although it does charge). I have to take the phone out of the cradle and connect the cable directly to get get a connection (Odin/Kies, etc...).
As far as getting the phone to go into 'Car Home' or "Desk Home", I found an app called "Locale" in the marketplace that shows a lot of promise for being able to have the phone change state based on various conditions (location, connections, orientation, app state,etc....). I have it working successfully using the car dock to have it launch Car Home (or whatever app you want). Unfortuantely, I'm not having the same luck with "Desk Home".
Locale is really amazing, but it is pricey ($9.99 US), and a lot of the functionality depends on user provided plugins (there are plenty.. some free, some about $1 US).
Back to the hardware. I'm happy with it generally, but frustrated that the audio jacks don't work. I can work around this in the car, as I can sync to my car stereo with bluetooth, but I would prefer to use the 3.5mm jack for many reasons.
I was going to try the Nero v.3 ROM today (still may) to see if that worked, but someone posted here that it wasn't working.
I'm wondering if this the dock support is something that has to be built into the ROM? Or is it part of the core? I'm guessing the latter.
It will be my luck that this will start working right about the time I order my Optimus X2 when it comes out
I'm using the dock with an international i9000 with firmware XXJPY and the standard media player does actually put out sound through the dock. My problem is I use spotify for my music which doesn't happen to do the same thing. Would there be anyway to force it to play through the usb audio out?
I use the dock with an unbranded, unlocked international GT-I9000. Could not get the Home Desk app to work, it would always crash with or without the dock (ver 1.0.1 available from mediafire.com - can't post the link since I'm a "new user" ). Then somebody passed on to me directly rev 1.0 of that app (can't find it anywhere on the net) and it all started to work. First I was on froyo 2.2 (XXJPA) and now I'm on froyo 2.2.1 (XXJPY) meaning:
- Home Desk app automatically kicks in when the phone is inserted into the dock
- Music does pass on to the dock audio jack but first must un-select the "Internal Speaker" option in the Home Desk app
- Works with the stock GT-I9000 player which is accessed via the Home Desk app Music icon (that icon appears to be hard wired to the stock player)
- Works with a third party player (I use PowerAMP) which can not be accessed via the Home Desk app Music icon - but there is a limitation
The limitation I see is that since the 3rd party player can not be invoked or accessed via the Home Desk app Music icon, one must exit the Home Desk app to get to the music controls (like volume since the hard buttons are covered by the dock!!!) - and during that time the sound cuts off from the external audio jack . The sound returns once the Home Desk app is invoked again (with the Android Home button). But when the Home Desk app Music icon is used to get to the stock player the sound does not cut off. Sounds like the Home Desk app has the sound integration via USB and so when it is not active the music cuts off. Unfortunately I know of no option that would redirect that icon to an alternate player. Maybe somebody can figure that out?
BTW – UI of the Home Desk app that I use (rev 1.0) looks different than UIs posted by others . See the attachments.
WhatISee and AsPostedByOthers:
the fix is here for the desk/car dock!!
So I have been waiting for this moment for months sense I purchased my Samsung desk dock and car dock...
For all that are wondering go to the market and seach for samsung car home and / or samsung desk home.
When you do you will see that there are now two apps that will appear for each app that will look the same.
tap on them and read the discription. one of the apps will say that it is Froyo compatible to fix audio.
download them, when you click on the app to open it> select the samsung car home not the google car home that so many of us Nero/Bionix users love ;(
when that opens you will see that there is now a icon on the top right part of the screen that has a picture of a speaker. Tap the icon and it will switch to the docks 3.5mm out put!
P.S. if you listen to other music players aside from the music saved on the phone ie. (pandora) start the car home app or desk home app and hit the home button go to apps and open the app you want to listen to. Wish they had allowed us to add apps to the apps home screen but this work around will do the trick until someone incorparates it into google car home..
If this helped you please hit the thanks button! and enjoy!
@lovemysgs - I don't see anything for Samsung Home/Car Desk in the market . Is it because my GT-I900 is unbranded?

What ROM are you using? I know that sometimes when I have flashed other ROMS the Dev has not or forgets to update market.
I am using Bionix V and it showed up there today.

Hm, I'm new to Android so be gentle. I did not do anything to the phone other than flash it to 2.2.1 via Kies. In About Phone it says:
Model: GT-I9000
Firmware: 2.2.1
Baseband: I9000XXJPY
Kernel: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build: FROYO.XXJPY

The dock has a 3.5 jack on the back. Sound is piped to it via phone's USB but only if the Home Desk app is running with the "Internal Speaker" option deselected (must have froyo as well). I don't think however that this works for phone functions, I think that it only works for music.
Just got my official one today, sitting at my desk trying it out. After a little saying "please" (and removing the Google Car Home that I loved), I got it to work, and gmail notifications are coming through the 3.5 mm on the dock.
I went into the market and downloaded the "Car Home Samsung Vibrant 2" (I could not see it in my phone market, so I went to the web market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.samsung.tmo.carhome1&feature=search_result )
This app has the speaker button on it, along with a brightness button, and an exit button.
When I turned off the internal speaker, the notifications seemed to work on mine (Bionix-v 1.3.1 with OverStock)
Hope that helps!
It's not elegant, but I just cut away that corner of the dock to make room for the audio plug, and that worked great for me. Instructions here:

Shortcut to Bluetooth device picker?

I recently installed a BT-enabled stereo into my wife's car. We quickly discovered it's pretty annoying to have to navigate through Settings -> Wireless -> Bluetooth -> FZ709 just to connect the phone to the stereo. And for reasons I haven't quite figured out, if you activate BT with the slide-down menu (I'm on Froyo via Bionix-V), it only displays the device picker the first time.
I know I can create a shortcut to the BT settings... but does anyone know of an app or widget that lets me create a shortcut directly to a specific BT device?
Optimally I could simply click a widget to enable BT and connect to the device, and click it again to disable BT.
Couldn't find anything like this in the Market, unfortunately.
I would love to see something to simplify the process as well

I just recently installed a bluetooth stereo in my car as well. After initial setup, I gave my stereo full access to my media and phone audio and I just leave bluetooth on all day. I don't find that it eats much battery unless it is actually being used. Whenever I get in my car it just automatically connects without me having to do anything. I now have a kenwood excelon if that makes any difference and before this I had a pioneer premier and that worked fine as well.
You might double check what your settings are for that paired device under options in your bluetooth settings. If you are not sure where your options are under bluetooth settings just click and hold the paired device and you'll get a pop up with options in there.

The only options I see are Connect, and to use it for Phone and/or Audio connectivity.
You know, I've always been such a battery miser, I haven't thought to actually see what Bluetooth uses. Now that I'm running Bionix V and battery life is as good as old phones used to be, I think I'll check it out.

[Q] Getting rid of annoying static buzzing sound when connecting vibrant to tv

Hello everyone-
I'm not sure how many of you have experienced this problem before, but whenever I use the TV-out feature on my vib to connect it to my standard-def tv via the 3.5 mm jack to av cable, I get a strange annoying electronic buzzing sound from my television. I've made sure the cable is plugged in all the way on both ends, and that the region is set to NTSC, but it just won't go away. It seems to stay no matter what rom I use, so I think it may be either a hardware problem with my phone or with the cable itself. Any help would be appreciated? Thanks.
-much ablidged, bobofosho123
Have you tried a kernel with voodoo sound, and adjusted the settings with supercurio's app?
Have you tried another cable?

I haven't tried another cable, but I a running bionix-v 1.3.1 with the sound app, but I'm not sure what the optimal settings are for TV-out specifically, or what specific options I should adjust within the app? Thanks.
Can anyone else offer me any advice? I'm eager to solve this issue, thanks.
have you tried on a different TV?
Yep, I still get the same problem, and I've never had this problem when I connect any other device to my TV.
Try a different cable. With the first cable I used I didn't get any video signal and loud static. With the second one it was absolutely perfect.
might be think stupidly but are u using edge by chance?

I don't see what edge would have to do with a the tv-out function on my vib. But no, I'm using wifi, and I have all data functions turned off (i.e. I don't have a data plan anyway.

S Voice Launching in Car Dock mode

Hi,
Just got my S3 and love it to bits... I made the Car Dock cable as per the thread in the S2 forum and it works a treat, sound and charging out of the micro usb to my car.
One thing the S3 seems to do though is automatically start S-Voice when in Car Mode. Is there any way to stop this from happening? I only ask
because
a) Its annoying
b) When starting S-Voice, my Parrot car kit asks who I want to call.
Might be me missing something really simple, but any help would be good.

I'm not sure, but try the settings, if you haven't. Otherwise, before driving, close S - Voice and then you should not have it annoy you

Haha, cheers! I've tried closing it down as soon as it launches, but it already kicks in and does its stuff, waiting on S-Voice and Parrot kicking in asking me who I want to call as soon as I plug the cable in at the bottom and Car Mode enables.
Doing my tree in!
Hope someone knows, hope its just me missing a setting.
Has anyone else got a cable or dock that lets them plug in at the bottom and enables Car Mode? Does it load S-Voice then too?
Have you tried some apps like "Dock No-Op", "DockNothing Free", "Car Mode Off"? They should disable the default effect of entering car mode, not sure if they work though.

Does LG G5 have a "car mode" feature when connected to car charger?

In SGS2 I had a car dock. When I put phone in then "car mode" was activated and I could utilize "car dock" state in Tasker. This feature was designed as special resistor between data cables like described here:
Fun with resistors (home/car dock mode + more)
Is it possible with LG G5? I mean are there any car chargers that will put LG G5 in car mode when connected?
I can switch my G5 into "carmode" using macrodroid app. After switching to on, i can see a steering wheel icon in the notification bar.
But until now, i do not know what the car mode does.

Finally someone who uses macrodroid besides me. I think it's way better then tasker, less complicated. Wouldn't you agree?

sorry for OT.
I have made my own experiences with "automate" / "tasker" / "macrodroid" / "llama" in the last three years.
Unfortunately "tasker" has some restrictions if you do not use several different plugin.
If you will use, everything seems to be possible.
"Automate" is similar able tool , but drains my battery too much and needs to many plugins.
"Macrodroid" is very easy to use and has all functions they are needed. You can use the Tasker plugins too
and now b.t.t. please!
I tried to chat about it with LG support and it looked like they don't know what car mode is
It looks like I need another way to make G5 to know that it is in car dock. Bluetooth beacon maybe?
Try Auto Android; it's still in development so it isn't super polished but I feel google has done a good job making quite functional.
Ok, I did some research and will answer to myself:
It is not possible with any phone that use QuickCharge. USB data lines D+ and D- are used by QuickCharge protocol to control charging voltage, so there is no way to use them for other things.
I plan to use iBeacon and beaconradar app as alternative solution for automating car mode tasks.
If you use BT in your car, you can use this connection as a trigger in Tasker. So you can create some profiles for it.

Yes, I know, but I do not have hands free BT. I have BT-aux adapter in my car and I tried with tasker BT near profile but it does not work well. Delays are from 10 seconds to couple of minutes. iBeacon broadcasts itself every 300ms or so and should work better. It uses Bluetooth LE so I plan power it constantly from car and create tasker profile for two events: beacon in range and AC power on.
