Hi everyone, I'm new on this forum and don't understand some things regarding to custom rom, videlicet X-Vibe rom. I've installed this rom as described in regarded thread. So, after installation I've used new OS and found that lots of things looks a bit ugly or works not very good for me. I've tried to customize them as much as I can but still not satisfied.
The main point of my feelings is that previous ROM I've used was much better. Especially I really want to have Applications buttom in bottom part of every desktop and I still not able to use it. So, I don't really sure but I'd like to remove additional decorations and themes and use stock representation such as on this picture.

Please, help me on my problem or just tell what I should do to have proper result. Any explanations is really appreciated.
Thanks you!

The only way is roll back to stock ROM, Vibe ROM you can consider as Custom ROM with pretty much visual appearance features added.

Thank you very much! I suspected that those changes are "embedded" in custom rom.

I have Optimus Black, but since there are so few dev for this device at this time so I would like to learn and try build my own custom ROM from stock ROM, but I'm really new to this thing...
Is there anyone who can point me where to start from? I tried android kitchen before but it seem it's only add some minor feature to the stock ROM, I think it would be better if I understand how thinks work, so I can estimate what part I can optimized..... I really appreciate any help from you....
Hey everybody!
Now as there are a lot of ROMs for our S2 it's quite hard to decide which one to take. To make it easier for someone who's still searching it would be nice to know which ones are the most used ones.
I won't put any versions here, just the main name cause the versions change very fast
So, which ROM do you prefer and are you using at the moment?
Why do you use it?
Double thread, why?

Because he didn't know how/if he could make a poll. It's quite clear if you read the redundant thread
Is there any quick summary of the key features of these kernels? I'm finding the ROM threads a little light in the first post on features and limitations. I know it's subjective, but it would be nice if someone could collect a 2 line summary of each rom. Along the lines of [perf/power] [de/odex] [stock apps/minimal apps]. Also if they are supported only with a specific kernel or not.
leomar for me is the best! if you read the topic of this rom, you will see that the developer is also creating the revolution app...i suggest to stay informed about this rom!
i like cognition S2. always up to date.
Self adapted Cognition 1.2 with added boot /sounds /ringtones/ home brew CSC Hardcores Kernel .

Hi,
I have flashed about 30 different ROMs to my SGS2 and I can't seem to find the perfect one. There's loads of different features of different ROMs that I like and I just wanna combine all my favorite features into my perfect ROM. I was just wondering how hard it is to create one and if I need special software and if there is a tutorial out there?
Thanks,
Yogi
If you don't like any of the roms posted grab the base one from the rom kitchen and add onto it a kernel and theme that you prefer.
Doesn't seem to be working

Well mate, if you keep flashing in that rate then after one year the number will be hundred and yet you won't find the one you need. Why not stick with a simple stock ROM? I mean seriously why ultimately we run (not me) for a Custom ROM? For some gimmicks, other than that what we get?
Anyway, if you still wanna flash another then do as the above user said, Kitchen ROM's are more or less good IMO.
You are already getting mad about ROMs, time to enjoy the device.....
Instead of thingking building your own ROM, why not first learn the tricks of modding... have your best Base then mod it with themes, scripts, kernels, moded apks, and etc, its a lot easier IMO...
Hello again, I come to make a query. I am new to Android and have been looking at various Rom.
Am looking for a Rom that go as fluid as possible, and not have many addons. In other words, most fluid and clean as possible. What do you recommend?
Thanks
it's against the rules to ask that

The best way to find out is to read the descriptions of various ROM threads for their specific features, and try some out yourself. Everyone has their own opinion as to which is the best ROM, and threads starting off like this have a tendency to turn into something undesireable.
Hi, guys!
First, I love the S6 edge. Beautiful, nice design and features... But I´m having issues with the multitasking, battery and general speed. I´m currently in 5.1.1 STOCK and I´m thinking in a change. So, as far as I know there are 2 options; change the ROM or else change the Kernel.
The ROM I found the best is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/development/rom-carhdrom-1-t3111519/page111
And the Kernel is this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/orig-development/tw-simplkernel-t3091094
So, my question is if I should just change the Kernel or I should go for the whole ROM. I am not really sure if changing the kernel will make things faster and with better battery life...
Can you help me with this? I would also need ROOT access, s o maybe the ROM is a good option as the Kernel doesn´t have ROOT as far as I know.
Thanks, guys! I really appreciate your support!
Well most ROMs here are using Stock kernel, so i suggest u flash a ROM of ur choice, the ROM makers do some tweaking that surely make the phone feel snappier.
Good Luck.
First of all, you should read the forum rules. This doesn't belong into Android Development.
Duplicate of Change KERNEL or ROM?
Closed. OP DO NOT Double Post even across forums.
