So, check this out, it's weird... I've got two S5's, same ROM, with a weird difference. Take a look:

First, note that NFC is on, but there's no icon in the status bar. Second. note the advanced menu option. Now look at this one:
Notice there IS an NFC icon up top but there is NO advanced menu item. Every value on the About screen is identical, so they're definitely on the same version. Neither has had any sort of hacks applied... they ARE both rooted and I actually did the change to make the SD card writable, I guess that counts as a hack, but that's it. All the same apps disabled on both and I haven't been able to even find any settings differences.
I can't explain these differences. Note that NFC works between the two, so clearly it's on even though there's no icon on the first phone. I've tried clearing cache on both, reboots obviously, makes no difference. Flipping NFC on and off also doesn't change anything.
It's really just an annoyance but I HAVE this sort of little thing, it'll bug me until I have an answer. Any ideas? Thanks!

If I'm the last to know you can make fun of me. Just read in my Get Started user guide if you hit the back button instead of the home button it turns the app off.
That's why I always seem to have several apps running
I hit home a lot, now I know
Enjoying my 3vo
in android the background processes barely touch the battery it's managed well and you don't have to worry about them being open.

Bwahahahahahahah!!!!
With that out of the way, there are some really poorly coded apps that kill the battery even if it's not doing anything in the background. Even if the app does not, it takes away available memory, though it's usually not that much.
P.S. The first line is a joke .
any app that you can close with the back button(android has always done this as far as i know) you can also close in the task manager
but ive tested. not all apps close with the back button(still shows as running in Applications). probably something the dev of the app needs to allow
On a recent trip I decided to use Google Navigation on my WI-FI tablet while tethered to my phone, in doing so I noticed that the screen looked odd as in the screen shot below:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I also ran into a problem were it began to not only give direction it was also reading out load the html behind the route.
Today I decided to undo the update that was applied and the screen once again looks like the original:
Has anyone ran into this issue and does your screen look like any of these two?
i guess no one is having this problem ...
Mine looks weird too.
I have never the app used though. wifi-only.
yeah i got that too...i updated my tab apps few hours before....its kinda weird....someone give a good solution
I'm wifi also but I tether to my phone when I go out and don't have access to Wi-Fi. The only way I've figured to fix it is to remove the update, everything works after that. Beware if you install it.
Issue Solved
Looks like the update to 3.2 corrected this issue. The screen now looks polished and functional.
Hey,
I have this line on the bottom left of my sgs2 screen. It is not kernel or rom related as I have tried almost all of the kernels and alot of different roms.
It is shown clearly on grey or black backgrounds.

Someone know if this can be fixed?
I have the same issue
and it's definitely hardware related. I can't be bothered to reset my phone back to full stock firmware and send it off for repair, I try not to let it bother me. It's not affecting how the phone works.
what they cudb
when i have been installing roms in the developers options or somewhere theres a way to test your touchscreen something or other i remember its pointer location is it ticked
go to >settings
>developer options, (scroll down till you see pointer location in descriptions of what each option does)
>untick box should disappear
this assuming you rooted phone and got options there if not im stumped dude (et)
i think you have the same problem as me,i have a mark on the screen that shows on grey backgrounds like the logo of super amoled and stuff in the sticker of the phone maybe later ill upload a picture

Looks like the display has been sloppy with a water.
Warranty does not help in such situations...
It does nothing. It just remain there. The one in the far left, the first icon. What in the world is it?

Don't worry about the 1X. I've been trying to force the device to obey my command to update the PRL so that the connection be 3G/4G. Just want to know what the first icon in the notification is and if it can be removed.
Location service disabled. I have to say one thing though - i found this on google in exactly 2 minutes ( I have very slow internet ). Maybe you could do your own searching and find answers to your questions. Your behaviour could be considered rude here
I have tried and tried on Google for several days. I just didn't know what words to look for. I've also tried on Yahoo. I apologize of I seem rude, I'm really having a hard time to understand many things. I was hoping that the icon was what caused the connection to be stuck at 1X. I'm about to go to the store for help to get it to be 3G/4G either fix or replace. I will see if the people at the store can remove the location icon. I'm new to EVO 3D and its older style of Android.
Hello. Before the Lollipop upgrade, I was able to set an alert when I reached a preset level of mobile data usage. While I can now see the graph for data usage, I no longer see a way to set the alert. Does anyone know how to set this?
MT2L03, EMUI 3.1
It should be in the settings, on the graph itself. I don't remember if Huawei changed it on EMUI though.

Hi ScoobSTi. You are correct for standard lollypop but Huawei appears to have changed it a bit. The graph is still there but the options to set the alert is gone. It's a pretty graph though. :-/
I can't find how to set it but I still get a warning over 2gb. Next time I get it I will see if I can find the setting on the screen that pops up.
Here are the pics that it exists, but for the life of me I cannot find how to access them. I don't know if they defaulted over somehow from JB cause I don't remember setting the limit on LP.
ok this worked for me to be able to find it and edit the settings.

Many thanks! That worked.
No Problem I wonder if this could just be an edit in the build.prop
