Hey guys Im new here, quick hello looking forward to learning a lot here..
anyways my first few questions, Im wondering if anyone has got Light Flow to work on their M8??
I had a S3 prior to the M8 and I loved the fact I could set the notifications/led color to separate apps.
I cant get it to work for the M8. does it NEED to be rooted?? what colors is the M8 limited too??
Really hope someone can help me out, thanks!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe your only limited to GREEN and RED.

Hmm Ive never seen green, only yellow and red.
You will see a green led when your phone is fully charged or you have a notification, (missed call, missed text, email, etc.)

Thats weird, I see yellow when I have a notification, at least it looks like yellow to me lol
can anyone confirm being able to control their LED notifications?? Either with root or w/ out root??
I just tried using textra with the notification set to cyan and it still used green.
I saw earlier in a thread taking about the m8 vs s5 and one of the pros listed for the s5 in one guys thread was an rgb led, I'm betting the m8 only has a dual color led

Has anyone heard if this phone will have a multi colored LED, or just the lame orange/green one..

They will probably stick with the green/amber just like ALL the other HTC phones have had. Id rather HTC put a camera with a better ccd/cmos sensor in than a multi-colored led.
Id rather then do both and also up the damn battery to 2 days use lol

I agree.....they can and should improve the camera.....and I'd take a thicker heavier phone in order to have at least a 2000mah-2200mah battery in there.....and my old tilt aka touch pro had all types off led colors on that bad boy!!!

There's no reason they could't spend an extra .001 cents per phone and put in a multicolored LED. Plenty of other HTC phones have had them too FYI.
I've had red, green, amber and blue on my current og evo. I dont see y we won't at least have the current colors we have.

Has it been confirmed to have one? The Nexus S i'm using now doesn't have one which I think is ridiculous!
But yea, multi-colored would be awesome. The Droid had one and it was cool to be able to customize it based off of what notification it was.

Yall know there is another led right across from the amber one behind the mesh.

Mine never did. Actually after an update a while ago it Jo longer gave me colors. Just green, amber, and red because those are the only colors the led supports.
I like the nice green wimax led across from the main led. But the only time I've seen it work on messages is on the MUIU ROM.

Not all evos have the blue for whatever reason... my first one did. My replacement doesn't.

Now I'm pissed!! You mean to tell me the evo does have blue !! Can anyone else confirm this? What hardware rev. has this? 002? 003?
And which led is it? the left one or the right(wimax) one?
Some ppl have found a way to mix yellow and green to get a blueish/purpleish color. But that's not the same as a blue led !!
I take back what I last said, I currently have the latest version of handcent and it only offers the green or amber light for text. So I have no clue about a blue one. I hope the E3D has one. I mean, isn't it suppose to for Bluetooth so you know its connected lol??????
HTC EVO = my best friend
Its the notification led. Sorry, I don't remember what revision it was... It was very much blue, and not a mix. It surprised me a lot the first time... facebook used it.
yeah I agree, It would be cool to have a 256 color led, Id have one color be sms, one for missed call, one for voicemail, and random color strobe for incoming call.
That would be pretty sick but ill just be happy with a blue light! And a back cover with a blue camera ring instead of red

Ive noticed lately when ending phone calls it turns the notification bar green for a split second, wanted to know if anyone could confirm that this is also doing this on theirs.

Never heard of anyone with that issue nor have I experienced that bug....

It's green during every phone call. For multitasking during a phone call to notify you of a connected call.

Probably the connection is still active. I don't think its a bug.
Is the bar supposed to turn green for the entire call? Im not talking about seeing an icon in the pull down menu im talking about the bar with the signal strength and gps and all the icons, that bar turns green for a split second when i end a call
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
Yea its a new feature in sense 3.0 the notification bar pulses green during a call, it might blink again after you hung up because the connection still may be active or it will still blink until the cycle is over.

Bar never turns any oyher color then black during the phone call its only when i hut end call does it blink green, should i return it or what, im also getting very very slow data and bad reception with my phone, last one i returned due to it not sleeping

Do you just not read what people are telling you in the responses or don't believe them? It's not a bug. It's a feature, next time your on a call, hit the home key and watch the notification bar, it flashes green if your on a different screen besides the phone dialer to let you know you have a connected call.
You may want to return it and get a dumbphone.
IM SORRY I MISUNDERSTOOD

Actually, if you ever ran the Desire ports on the 4G it did this also. So its been a feature since Sense 2.+.
@Cody:You need to stop opening threads every time you have an idea. You invite it upon yourself.
yes it is a green bug.
haha jeeze man you just looking for a reason to return it? jk, but yeah its supposed to do that, noticed my buddies droid x do that too the other day.
Is our notification led multicolored or is it just red/green? Now that we have full root i was wondering if we could use handcent to modify the colors of the led! Thanks for the help

Unfortunately the only colors we have and will ever have are: red, amber and green. This is a limitation of the phone itself and cannot be changed.
Damn, how hard would it be for HTC to throw in a multicolored LED... oh well, i am def more than happy with the phone

I'm hoping that the 3d has the 2nd LED light like the Evo 4G did. That was kickass and very convenient for getting notifications when the phone is charging.

Anyone know what the color options are for the LED (s)? I'm messing around with light flow without much success.
It seems the back one only does orange and the front us yellow green or red?
Thanks in advance

I recall reading somewhere light flow not working on droid DNA right now, they need to update.
sent from HTC Droid DNA on Verizon.
They should both be able to do green, orange, and yellow.
Both of them have a green led and a orange led, and if they are both on it makes yellow.

it works, kinda.... Really what I use lightflow for is not so much the actual light, although it was nice with my gnex, its more so for the repeating notifications with custom ringtones/sounds for different contacts. I am able to get that by just turning off every led notification and just use the sound and vibration. When ever I tried to use the lights I just had problems, so I gave up on them, besides, the front LED is maybe the worst I have ever seen, and I hardly ever see the back as I lay my phone down with the screen up. So yes, lightflow works, just not 100% as its name would suggest.
Yeah in really hoping it ends up having a little more control over the front LED. I relied on the difference between white/red/pink for text/call/whatsapp on my Nexus and was really hoping for the ability to do that on this phone.
At this point I just wanna get the light to stay solid rather than blinking...

Yeah that's cool as long as I have three different colors I'm satisfied.
I got everything working now my only issue is the front LED blinks and the rear is solid when I want both to be solid.
We'll see what happens.

Is there a way to only have the percentage to show? I currently have the percentage and battery icon showing in the status bar.
While I'm here, how can I remove the 4G LTE icon to only show when I actually have data toggled on? I know it animates when data is on, but it's clutter in my eyes.
I would like to add that I get 3 or more icons that show up and completely fill my status bar when I'm charging my phone on my computer.
I find I have lots of icons on my status bar when I'm charging my phone, if it helps, I'm using the ATT version of my m8.

I noticed this too. That was one of the many things prompting me to turn mine into a Google Play Edition. So much unnecessary clutter. And something about AT&Ts LTE icon pissed me off lol.
Besides using different roms I'm not sure of a way to change that though...
