Screen Brightness...........
Sometimes my brightness automatically adjusted like high to low/low to high.........i dont know am i doing something wrong..............does anybody have this issue........ and its totally different as coconut 90 quoted, as per his observation its goes completely black and to get back the screen have to reboot the device because of the kernel issue.............. but in my case its totally different.................
ART guide
when u will add ART guide?
This looks awesome. Which kernel should I flash if I want to try it out? The one mentioned in your first post leads to a dead link.
Do the camera, and camera apps work ok?
Is it based on CM11, and can we use CM11 themes?
ION kernels seem to have quite a few issues on the builds i've tried so far. Vanir, Carbon and PAC. How does this one hold up on the stability side of things?
What's the system free space after installing and flashing the smaller gapps linked?
ART is listed as being supported, but so far, switching to ART on my satsuma results in severely limited space issues. I presume that's still the case here.
Pardon all the questions. I did try the linked FAQ, but it didn't seem to have extended install instructions as mentioned.
Thanks very much for the great effort.

1.the ION kernel should be used
it is included in rom zip
2.the rom is pretty stable apart from some minor bugs like youtube & some brightness issues
hope OP is workin on it
3.we get around 50-60mb free space after installing smaller gapps
4.yes,we get limited space after enabling ART ,hardly ~160mb,right?
for using ART we should have atleast 500mb partition on sd with some scripts
right now OP is workin for ART support
5.IDK about special extended install instructions
Thanks if worked
My youtube doesn't work. It doesn't play videos, everything else is fine. Playing in browser also doesn't work.
What can I do?

To be honest, no, becouse i didnt found anywhere that i have to I thought that the kernel is inside the zip and it's going to be flashed automaticly.
So, can u tell me, what have i do first? unzip the rom and what now? flash the boot.img (i suppose that this is the kernel ) with flashtool or something?

Yup. Exactly that. I'm having trouble entering recovery mode after flashing the kernel on my satsuma device. The volume rockers seem to have no effect, and I can't boot in to recovery for the next steps.

No. Not as far as I know. You'd do best to use the included kernel. I still can't get in to recovery after flashing it though. I'm not sure why.

Our devices, even all SONY devices has a different type of bootloader
So we cant flash any type of kernel through recovery
U have to extract rom zip
There will be an boot.img file
U will have flash it through fastboot with pc
Using flashtool or u can use kernel flasher by ghostfreak its simple to use

Hi, I'm using this rom on my xperia arc s. I've flashed the included kernel and followed everything per the instructions (I had to flash it twice, as the first time saw missing Gapps and a rather frustrating "sim has been added, restart your device" message at every boot).
Now, though, I'm having problems with the battery life. I haven't installed any apps from the market, completely wiped the device and flashed the rom + light gapps, but my phone is being kept in an almost perpetually woken state. At first, it was the calendar and now messaging, that's keeping my phone awake. I can't put everything on blacklist, because it prevents me from receiving messages or my alarms going off at the expected times.
Do you have any suggestions? I really enjoy the rom. It looks nice, it's stable (haven't experienced any crashes), and while not lightning quick, doesn't seem to have many slowdowns besides of a bit of a delay when turning the screen on.

The "sim has been added, restart your device" message at every boot is a bug on all the ION roms i've tried. Just cancel it. No need to reboot.
Check your processor usage. It might just need some time to settle. Someone else reported something similar in another thread.
Hello,
I just installed today this ROM and I have a problem.
When the phone starts is starts with WiFi turned ON. This is ok. BUT if I turn it OFF I can't turn it back on. I have to reboot the phone. Or to turn airplane mode on and off and then it activates automatically. I noticed that on the power widget when i deactivate the WiFi it remains lit but only with a fade color, like it doesn't fully deactivates. I need help to fix this please.
Thank you.
LE: Airplane mode thing doesn't work anymore. Only reboot phone works to activate WiFi again.

Hey guys as we can see the wait is over its been so long since ace came out and even we have better ace models now still we finally got official release
I made this thread to disscuss about release ,what is your first experience after flashing was the wait worth it or no?
Q: So hows it?
A: inspite of few bugs, users report performance is good and battery life seems little better than unofficial builds , but still its a nightly plus its just came out so still needs more testing in day to day life
Update:- As it turned out xda got much better cyanogenmod than this and to be honest no one expected this even from a nightly every user is having his own type of issues , for some something is not working and the same thing is working for others , some find no prob at all ... so if you wana give it a try just go for it and if you like it use it or else dump as most of the users did i guess...., i never thought when official version will be out users gona get bored of it that fast lol, as everyone can see no one is paying any attention to it at all now.... or well untill next release with much improvement and updated patches n all which is certainly not even sure will come ...
Update Rc1 : Nothing is changed seems it is just a build bot Rc1 Release all bugs from nightly are still their(check end of this post for bugs)
Q.WHY IT SAYS "COOPER" ON DOWNLOAD PAGE IN DEVICE NAME ? AND WHY NOT WE DOWNLOAD "ACE" GIVEN IN DEVICE NAME ?
A. THAT IS BECAUSE CODE NAME FOR OUR GALAXY ACE IS "COOPER" AND CODENAME "ACE" IS FOR HTC DESIRE HD, PLEASE DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE OF FLASHING "ACE" IT WILL BRICK/KILL YOUR PHONE FOREVER
Q. any known bugs?
A.check end of this post..
Q.Do it came with overclock kernal?
A. No, you need to flash it yourself for Oc
Download "cm-blackhawk-kernel.zip" from thread below n flash via CWM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1296905
Note:- Users are having issues with kernals other than Official one, it is advised to stick to the official kernel for now untill Oc is fully supported for official Cm 7
Q.what is the changelog for cyanogenmod7.2?

added thanks but who is maintainer of our ace ? I highly doubt its coolya lol and his source is also outdated....
a nightly build? after so much waiting? Here we go again...report bugs, try make things works, download this, download that, use this trick...I am sick of this procedure. We already have an awesome rom by vo-1 and till a stable release is announced I am not even curious of flashing this. This is just my personal opinion. I'll wait for a stable release. For now, I am not even curious of flashing this.
And I am a 100% sure that by the time a stable CM7.2 comes out, CM9 by the devs here will be stable and ready for mass flashing

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
BE AWARE THAT THIS IS VERY VERY BETA. THINGS ARE BROKEN ON IT. I DON'T WANT REPORTS OF ISSUES THAT I HAVE LISTED BELOW. I WILL BE FIXING THINGS AS I CAN. DO NOT AS FOR AN ETA, AS THIS IS PRETTY DIFFERENT FROM PREVIOUS BUILDS.

Good job man, are you now including a theme? Or does that come with one of the Options packages?
Can this be dirty-flashed over 10/10, or just cache/dalvik?
I see you've got your own recovery now. Is that the same as the "joker's v3 CWM" that everyone recommends, or something else?

Something else. Newer. Vers 6.0.1.5. I have flashed MIUI, CM10, and AOKP with it now....worked perfectly for it
Theme is just an example of one that is in the market (Cobalt)
If 10.10 is 4.1.2, then I would say yes. If it's still 4.1.1,then no, you would need to wipe all....just to be safe. I forgot which version of android 10.10 is...LOL

Okay, definitely checking out your recovery then. I really prefer TWRP (bunch of reasons, not just the touch) but if one works better than the other for some ROMs, no reason I can't go back and forth.
Kind of waiting for CNA (I know you're waiting on the dev) but CM10 10/10 is rock solid. And it's 4.1.2, I believe it was your first 4.1.2.
I knew you had a thing for Cobalt, but I'd only seen the red one. I just got one called "Elegant Green", it's okay but wasn't really what I was after. I might have to learn to theme and make my own, or just get ROM Toolbox. The default CM theme is fine, I'd just change all the cyan to a shade of green (I'm kinda bad with hex, but around #00DD30 is what I like).
Anyway, thanks again for your work on this. I can hit the Thanks buttons, but it needs to be said more. So, thanks. :good:
Thanks Bill for everything! Can you possibly include a changelog for the builds either on here or in goomanager? Thanks again!
Bill. What is the difference between your CWM vs. Joker's CWM v3? Just curious if its better to be flashing your CWM vs. Jokers for your CM10 ROMs. Thanks.

Not able to flash any rom
When I'm flashing any rom in the recovery an error comes "Can't open /emmc/name of the rom.zip(bad)"
Help please
Dirty flashed 10/28 over 10/10 (both JB 4.1.2 ROMs), everything seems to be in order. Data works, su works. (10/10 had been flashed clean after a "wipe all".)
Finally took your theme advice and installed Cobalt... Kiwi Cobalt. It's his green one. It's the best green theme I've used. I'm seeing a lot of elements from Mixer (or maybe Mixer borrowed from Cobalt) so it's not at all unfamiliar. Now I just need a nice dark brushed-metal wallpaper (currently on the one in the first screenshot) to complete my black-on-green look. Might also alter the wallpaper to have a green Cid instead of cyan (can one simply extract a wallpaper out of a wallpapers chooser pack like that?).
How come no real progress is being done with battery life? I'm running Bills's and Jokers roms from the beginning, I'm using GSM and I barely have any apps, I have only one google account synced and I barely get 8 hours if I don't use the phone at all, I thought it was related to the KDDI modem so I flashed back to stock, I now have the n_01.28.05s.fk modem and still same battery life.
Will the new drivers/kernel improve battery life? is any of Bills other JB roms (aokp, CNA, Paranoid) better optimized for battery life?

Not without factory drivers from Motorola. Though you can use third party apps like videocam illusion.

What is King Kang?!?
King Kang is essentially a hybrid ROM - its a mixture of AOKP, CyanogenMod, and ParanoidAndroid, bringing all their customizations to one rock solid and quick ROM. These numerous features combine to create a blend of features not seen anywhere else before. Make the user interface yours with this ROM. Change the DPI the ROM runs at, tweak the interface to your hearts content, while enjoying great battery life and stability. Never before have these features combined to create a ROM as feature-packed as King Kang. Credits for the features goes directly to the teams responsible - AOKP and CM for their respective work, and ParanoidAndroid for their wonderful DPI on-the-fly modifications. Without these teams, this ROM would not be possible.

The graphics related issues are due to not having proper drivers to use for this. Don't ask for an ETA on a fix. Moto won't be giving us the drivers, so there is no fix

Can you do this favor for me? GO to recovery and go to advanced menu. Choose Report Error. It will put a file in the clockworkmod folder of your sd card I believe (may do emmc...I can't be certain) named recovery.log. Can you send that file to me? It will tell me which set_perm isn't working, so that I can fix it
adb logcat should work from a pc. I don't think that much of the on-board logcat stuff works yet, which is unfortunate...

can you pull a logcat of trying to turn it on?
Any major differences between this and PACman? Also, are there different versions of ParanoidPreferences.apk? Is the one in PACman (I got it before it was taken out) the most current, or is the one in PA 2.99 more recent?
Also, in the tablet mode directions, you kinda just stopped in Step 9. And in the initial description, the whole "never before been done" doesn't make much sense to those of us who have tried PACman (unless King Kang came first).

Th3Bill,
Tried ROM B of KingKang and still got no wifi. When booting initially with Options, wifi starts up but shows no networks. Get past that with 3G, and go to settings and check WI-FI, it comes up with turning on WIFI. The WIFI switch flips to on and back to off. Though the right pane says turning wifi on. Go to Play Store and it wants me to relog into Google. Downloaded a logcat program and went back to try WIFI, The button/switch will not move or do anything. I may have to re-install and try to do the ADB Logcat. I will look on your site and other information area's on pulling a proper logcat for you.

This man is correct. Wifi issue is kernel related, and I will upload a fix as soon as I can. Got a bunch going on, and am still working on integrating more info into the site to make it better and more useful.
I am also working on CM10.1. I will see if the kernel from one of my other builds fixes it. If yes, I'll upload the kernel and modules tonight...it will probably be late though (after 11pm Est)
Don't know if this is useful or not, but I'm using a joker 1.3 kernel and have no wifi issues.

Hey all, here's SlimRom built from source for our i605. Umm, it flies! Obviously in not responsible for anything that happens to you, your, device, or anything else that may go wrong in your life.
I am also not responsible for the work done on this ROM, and so I do not want to take credit. I'm not a part of Slim Team, and am providing this because all I had to do was build a slim device tree (and keep it up to date) for i605...and because I like the ROM!

Quick FAQ: (wip)
Q- This ROM won't give root access to my apps?
A- Yes it will, you need to enable it in developer settings for apps/adb.
Q- I click on the download link but there aren't any files for me to download?!
A- Turn off ad-blocker or try a different browser.
Q- Everything is smaller on this ROM than what I'm used to?
A- DPI is set at 245. You can change it in build.prop in your system folder. Make sure you set permissions back once you have messed with the file! 320 should get it back to how you see it on most ROMs with no tweaking. You can also use an app such as ROM toolbox to change it.
Q- What has changed since the last version?
A- Versions are clearly marked, please check slimroms.net for updated changelogs.
Q- GPS issues??
Here you go, GPS fixes that worked for me...<br />
<br />
GPS edits:<br />
Edit the file at /system/etc/gps.conf (I use root explorer). Uncomment these lines by removing the leading #:<br />
NTP_SERVER=north-america.pool.ntp.org<br />
SUPL_HOST=supl.host.com or IP<br />
SUPL_PORT=1234<br />
<br />
Save, and reboot. If you still don't have gps, download a Verizon based touchwiz Rom (I had alliance and used that), reboot into recovery and back up slim kat. Then, wipe and flash the touch wiz Rom. You should notice that your GPS is off even though it's a clean flash and it should be on. Turn on GPS, and get a lock - I used GPS status app so that I could verify the number of satellites that locked. Once you get a solid lock, reboot to recovery immediately while it's locked in. Now restore slim kat, then boot into it and now get a lock<br />
<br />

One suggestion for the op: maybe include a link to the differences between gapps versions? Slims site does not do a good job at all listing the differences between the three gapps packages so this could help us here. I know that's not device specific, but more just general helpful info.

Straight from Slim so they should be keeping it updated with future releases.
I've been running the ROM for a couple of hours now and everything seems stable and fast (as we all have come to expect from this ROM). Thanks again for all the hard work!
Also, brilliant idea posting the explanation of the GApps... I know someone had previously asked what all three packages included.
It's very rarely I create a post unless it's justified or paying compliment, however: I was running the SkyNote Rom for a few months and when I wiped (several times) and installed your Rom and Gapps I could not access data or even phone service, even after re-installing several times.
I mean NO data or service at all.
I even restored Skynote and another ROM from a TWRP backup and still no service.
To be aware Skynote is a 4.3 ROM.
Could it possibly be the 4.4 Gapps I installed causing the issue?
I'm (for once) bewildered.
ANY help would be MASSIVELY appreciated.

This is really weird... I've had radio issues when I tried to install a KitKat ROM, but if i reverted back to a backup I made (4.3 JellyBean for book keeping), it always fixed the problem. My best guess, and I'm no expert, is that some important files got damaged during flashing - maybe files that pertain to the radio? If there are files floating around on here that have JUST the radio, I would try flashing one of those, preferably, the baseband version you had if you knew what it was. Though I have not seen any that have been readily available.
Fortunately/unfortunately, with that said, the only option that I know will fix the issue is doing a full restore to stock via ODIN. I reverted all the way back to the VRALJB stock ODIN image, rooted and ROMed and have had no issues since. This fixed the radio issues that I was having when installing an Android 4.4 ROM... So I'm confident that it will fix your issues. Of course, this is time consuming, and will take a couple of hours.
You can see how to revert back to stock using the files and instructions found in this thread. Someone else may have a [better] solution, but this is what worked for me when I had radio issues.

Firstly, SonOfUncleSam, thank you for your speedy reply and assistance :good:.
I was really trying to avoid restoring to stock (which I had to do) as I REALLY liked the look and feel of the SlimKat.
I Googled SlimKat and I discovered that I'm not alone in regards to SOME people who installed the ROM also faced the problem of having no data or any form of network connection, even though APN's where installed and edited.
If this issue could be fixed I will most definitely be ready to install it again (Actually I'm waiting for you to resolve it :silly
Looking forward to seeing the couple of minor fixes,
Pikeypete.
Commenting on the radio issue: I had a similar thing happen to me on a different KitKat rom (PA), when I flashed it and my baseband said "unknown" and nothing I did could fix it. I tried via recovery flashing new base bands and nothing.
What I eventually wound up doing that did fix it was like sonofunclesam said, restoring to stock, reroot, flash alliance 4.3, Odin mj9 baseband, wipe, flash slimkat.... And then everything was fine. Took forever but it did work.
I don't think this issue has anything to do with slimkat itself, more like its a general note2/KitKat issue.
I resolved the issue, somewhat.
I had to change the preferred network type from LTE to 3G.
I'm on AT&T. 3G isn't anywhere near as fast, however at this point I have the network connected.
I'm sure a few tweaks will get me back up to the maximum speed bracket.
Thank you both for your input :good:
Pikeypete
I agree with Jarm3r... It seems like when everyone WAS making the transition to KK ROMs, it was hit or miss as to who had radio issues. My phone had issues with the radio when my father's phone didn't when I decided to test his. After that, the only logical action (in my mind) was to try and restore everything to stock, using the baseband version he had on his phone. After that, I've had no issues and its been a couple months since I've done that.
And like Jarm3r said, once everything is restored, re-rooted and re-ROMed, you should be good to go. Sometimes it seems like when you re-flash so many times, files can get messed up, and you'll eventually have to do this. (I even had to revert back to stock on my Note 10.1 because it was acting wonky too...)

I love this ROM. The camera works unlike cm11 and pac. And super smooth!
Is there a way to make the volume pop-up always expanded? I can't find a slim setting and the few xposed modules I tried didn't work.
I'd also love a way to have have something like CMs profile feature. Is there a zip or flash or module that would add that?

Is that like where you set it to "home" ... "Work" etc... And it changes a bunch of settings like volume and WiFi and stuff like the old blackberries used to do? I would love to have that as well if it is! I currently use tasker to kinda emulate that but its clunky.
DISCLAIMERYou use this ROM at your own risk.
I will not take any responsability if you crash your device, lose data or whatever. As we all know that our phone Xperia SP has a weird problem of less ram and is slow for multitasking , me too like you all kept trying a lot of roms, whether stock or AOSP based but couldn't find a solution.
Well here i present to you guys the Final Solution ROM AOSP for AOSP users having a LOCKED BOOTLOADER
Most of the roms available are deodexed for customization but deodex leads to lag in interface and usage of more ram.
This ROM has odexed framework as well as most important system apps.
Let us face the truth for a minute, all the Z3 ports available right now slow down the phone and eat more ram ,
If we can't have a smooth interface then why should we use it on a phone which has only 1 gb memory.
This rom includes all the customisations and apps you would actually need, after a lot of research and hard work, i was able to find the core of the problem ie deodexing and and all the app eating most of the ram.
THE NIGHTLIES BY CM TEAM ARE ALSO DEODEXED AND THEREFORE I ODEXED IT AND PROVIDED SOME COSTUMIZATIONS
Feature-
Fully Odexed
Zipaligned
SuperSU
Debloated a little
Gapps included
Latest Walkman Port By @ibanez7

I HAVE NOT REMOVED LIVE WALLPAPERS AND ANY WIDGETS BUT STRONGLY RECCOMMEND NOT TO USE THEM!!

No man , the second ROM AOSP V2 is only for UBL , coz it's not built on stock kernel, don't try flashing it on a locked bootloader

If there is no offline charging, it might be due to william's kernel don't support it, it has nothing related to ROM, u might try stock kernel

the ROM is short of many things you have to flash a gapps package i used the cm 11 gapps and it works, camera missing, no file manager, gapps practically none existent apart from play store. if your phone happens to die on you you're **** outta luck because it wont charge.

Look, i am myself using the rom and there was no need to flash gapps package, stock camera and file manager along with other boat was removed so that you could download the google version which are better.
As i already told you, offline charging is a kernel issue, you can use stock kernel

I've tried this ROM for a day. It's work very great but still have 2 problem.
- Touch sensitivity is a litte high, it's like glove mode on in stock ROM, it will make some mistake when you type fast.
- Walkman work fine but Audio setting will stop when you press Play.

For audio string fc, just download a root browser and delete audiosettings.apk from system/app you may use viper4android

This rom is amazing dude, all my problems simply disapeared, you re a genius.
Ive been using it for a day and almost everything seems great, I can finally listen to music while browsing and gaming... But as luutuananh said, the screen responsiveness is a little off sometimes, there is no way you can port the settings from stock one? And about the audio settings, Im using viper.. but again, for those who dont want to bother, cant you port the stock one also? Btw, I also had a few fcs with "xperia for throw" or something like that, i deleted the throw apk in the system and it is working fine (ad2p working and no fcs)

Good job bro. I'm looking forward to see your work. This is the best ROM I ever tried on our devices.
On LBL.
After install, while going through set up > connect to WiFi > set up Google account > input email and password> Couldn't sign in. There was a problem communicating with Google servers. Try again later.
Clicking on Next keeps giving the same error message.
Edit: Unable to sign into Play Store even if I skip signing in during setup. Trying to sign into Play Store gives the same error.

Options for post installation are not available on LBL.

Tried to use the search app to do a google search. It opens, allows me to type, shows suggestions but does not open the result when i touch on a suggestion.
Install gapps, delete data from playstore and then sign in.
Options for post installation need custom kernel, we with lbl cannot use it..
