[Q] LG G2 d800 digitizer to d802 help needed! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I broke my digitizer on d802 and bought d800 digitizer with display. Ther are 3 wire harnesses 2 of them near microfon wich fitt perfectly and 1 near ear peace which didn't. After that i bought inside the phone new wire harnests for the d800 model, after that i could connect the digitizer and display to my phone.
And then another problem. Digitizer works strangely, it cant locate where you touch it. Thout it could be an kernel thing. Can i install d800 kernel with new d800 firmware on my d802 phone?? and how can i do it? my phone is rooted.
Another question, is the 16gb and 32gb memori option hardwer or software limited? i readed that 1 person upgraded his software on a 32gb vrsion and after the update he had 16gb vesion?

[Q] MTK8377...sim card interchangeable?

Seems to be a generic tablet...Lenovo appears to have a nearly identical one as well. Not too worried about rooting it at this point--wife is thinking of buying one, and hopefully sticking her LG Revolution sim card into it (I'm dubious) ?

My history with Lg H860 (need help)

Hi everyone !
I'm new here, but i always read topics about everything and i know that u guys maybe can help me.
So let's go.
I bought my Lg g5 about 5 months ago, and after 1 months with, i dropped my cell in floor, results ? broken glass, but touch and screen still working. After one week, i dropped cell into the watter (pool), quickly jump out of the pool and get out battery, after one day in rice i turn it on and touch screen doesn't working , i thought the problem is in display, so i bought the national model display (from Brazil H840) and replace it (but i'm from Brazil, and my model of Lg g5 is H860, from hong kong) and touch still not working. Some guys tell me if i bought the exact model(H860), my touch will work. So, i did that, i'm just waiting package arrive and test. Remember: Deoxidation already done by technician. I wanna know from you if this advice proceeds, because they tell me about that flat of differents model and there is a chance to exist a incompatibility, and there is my focus of the all problem, excluiding board problem.

The H840 is a completely different phone also known as the LG G5 SE (different hardware) this is why the screen cannot work with your model.
Any screen for the LG G5 (H850 H830 etc) should work for any carrier or international version of the phone.
If the screen and digitiser don't work with this version then you could have a more serious hardware problem.

LG V10 Replacing boards from different models

I have an LG V10. And as expected by now, I got the bootloop issue after 13 month with the phone. Unfortunately I bough the phone from the UAE. Meaning, I got the H960A version.
I moved recently to the US, and freaking LG USA does not want to even take a look at the phone. They told me to ship it back to the UAE for repairs!! So I went ahead and stripped down the phone. Only to find that some components on the board seems to heat up significantly when the phone is powered up
I cant find a broken H960A here in the USA. That brings me to my question, can I replace the board on a H960A with lets say a H900 or H901?
Please help, I'm stuck with a useless brick. Don't even know if I will be able to sell it for parts.

[Motherboard compatibility] From H872 to H870 or even H870DSU, convert your LG G6 !

Hello there!
I just wanted to tell you an interesting information about a successful operation for my lg g6.
So few month ago I purchased a cheap lg g6 from a store here in France for my father.
Therefore it was an AT&T model (h872 or 871 or 873), many band where missing and I hated the fact that it is still locked, no rom, no root... all of what we don't like from an android phone.
So I had the idea to swap the motherboard with another model!
As those are cheap in aliexpr... it costed about 40€ for me to get an h870 motherboard, I even had the opportunity to buy the h870ds quad dac and h870dsu (g6+ 128gb rom) for 60-80€, therefore as those are poor in dev section regarding rom, I prefered to go with a traditionnal h870 european version.
Obviously, I've done A LOT of repair, that's why I figured out the compatibility between motherboard, here are the reason:
---------------------
-No different LCD like LG g2 (flashback about LCD only compatible with specific motherboard, different connector etc etc...)
That mean that the main screen is all board compatible
-Same frame for all model (when you search for LG g6 Frame, you don't have any distinction between model , else it'll be : Frame for LG G6 h873/870/... specified)
it mean that every part are in the same place: battery, speaker, type C connector etc etc....
-No difference in physical layout between different motherboard (by comparing visual shot).
The only difference is in the kind of shell that cover the cpu and gpu, which depend on the manufacturing date.
And the Wireless charging/NFC pin. either 4 pin for both, 2 for nfc only, 0 for none of those option. (doesn't matter for making the phone work, it's just an extra that detect if the nfc/wireless sticker is here)
----------------------
It's confirmed to work from any h87x to h870 mainboard replacement.
And i'm 99% sure it'll work with an h870ds, And even h870DSU (therefore, poor XDA dev thread on those model).
using the same material for all board is cost effective for LG, So I can say that, if you really want to move on to a another hardware version, take 40 bucks and a screwdriver!
...Well, I know that modding a software seems easier, but be confident, follow instruction, be gentle with part, don't put any kind of force... repairing is easy, so it is to replace a motherboard.
While you're into it, put thermal past in the cpu to improve thermal temp. And don't forget to remove the simtray
thx
This is a very cool idea. Has anyone actually tried updating a G6 to a G6+ this way? I'd be curious to hear your experience.

Bootloop prone motherboard?

I have bootlooped LG V10 H960A 32Gb phone. I want to change motherboard and was wondering if I could install any motherboard, not just it's original H960A. So the question is - is it possible? If it is, then which model of motherboard is less bootloop-prone? Or they're pretty much the same?
Anyone?
