First HTC One device. I have a serious problem with the Badge Count, it is unseen which is completely worthless. Is there a mod or build.prop edit so the count is unread. I rely on badge to remind me of that email I mark as unread to go back later and address. This is standard today.

Hi guys
I am having this problem:
http://www.android.net/forum/htc-evo...-clearing.html
Basically when i receive new exchange based emails (2 different exchange accounts), i get a push notification on my phone. NIce. If i read it on my laptop/computer, some hours later i look at my phone and the NOTIFICATION bar still shows "40 unrea msgs" - yet the email icon doesnt show 40. If i go into the email app, they ARE all marked as read- and then finally the notification goes away.
Why is this?
Hello,
Does anybody knows how to reset the email count notification on Locksreen (Xperia Sola)?
Mine shows 9 unread emails, and my emails are read, so it should show no notification at all.
Thanks
Jº
I suspect that somewhere in your history or junk mail you have unread emails. I cannot use the feature on my now 6 year old gmail account as it shows 999+ unread!!
How do I get Unread Count working?
What you mean exactly? Editing a specific Theme or doing your own? And for which service?
When editing a widget u can hit the "+" on the upcoming bar to select missed calls, unread sms and unread mails to add the unread count,
with the setting "hotspot" u choose which app should be started.
I have issues with the unread counter.
SMS doesnt update after I have read my message for about an hour or so, and the email unread counter doesnt update at all

There seems to be a delay in updating the SMS count once a SMS is read however for me it ain't taking more than 2 -3 minutes.
Having this issue to, count is stuck at 1
Try tweaking the settings in Settings>Themer>Unread counts.
How do I get Themer to count unread emails for my Inbox in general? On the options screen there is not Inbox or Priority Inbox option. I can get unread counts to appear for individual categories, tabs, and folders, but not the overall inbox. Thanks.
Hi Friends,
I have HTC ONE M8 AT&T phone. Whatsapp does not show notification badges. Also, email shows notification badge but when I get into the email and come out without reading email, the notification badge is gone though there are still unread messages. Can someone help fix this please.
Thanks & Regards,
Shah

If you are referring to the little number on the icon on the home screen... then there's nothing to fix. It's working as designed.
That isn't actually a stock android feature. HTC (and Samsung, LG, Motorola, etc) customizes their home screen launcher to display unread count "badges" for the apps that are built in (email, messages, etc), but couldn't possibly do so for other 3rd party apps. In the case of email, the badge clears when you go into the app regardless of the number of unread messages. (It's more of a "you have this many unread since you last opened the app.)
If you want more functionality, you could use a different launcher (such as Nova Launcher) and a plugin (telsaunread) that supports more badges. I have no idea if "Whatsapp" is supported by nova/telsaunread, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure it out.
Edit: I just checked and nova launcher with teslaunread does explicitly support whatsapp.

Hi,
I also have a problem with my Icons on the top left-hand corner of the screen on my HTC One M8...
I have just launched the new Update "Sense 6.0" and now I can't see the Icons of WhatsApp, SMS, E-mails. etc. on the top left-hand corner of the screen, when the screen of my phone is locked (when I get a new message).
Do you know how I can turn it back on ?
Sam
