Mine fails on install. I think I have safestrap or some such nonsense installed (been a long time since I've toyed with custom roms on this phone.) Is that why the update doesn't play nice?

Does the dump include the modem? We desperately needed the modem to be ported to the international versions (I-9200 and I-9205). HSPA+ signals are very inconsistent and I believe porting the modem from the AT&T version will help us a lot.

Sounds quite reasonable.
Following Samsung OTA's for a long time across 3 phones and almost 6 years.. seems they connect some of the major OTAs to release of new product. Since the S5 is getting close could it be tied to that event? Betting Verizon's S5 won't be first on the release list for US carriers either.
OTA of 4.4 for the S4 prior to the S5 release just doesn't sound like a starter. It would be a nice surprise though....

I haven't taken any OTAs yet in 5 months of owning my phone. Once you build firmware is updated you are stuck...and most likely will not be able to even odin back. If you don't care about Root or any ability to mod...and don't mind stock features go right ahead and take the update

If you live in Poland for the Note 3 variant there, or, stateside, have the S4. Our variant is on the list, but has been delayed, in part, by Google spanking Samsung's hand for putting in code that would have not allowed 3rd party accessories to work properly, and straying too far afield from Android.'
I think the way updates work is that the manufacturer (Samsung) releases the update to the carriers then the carriers add their bloat. Then finally the update is released to the public. Sprint has not released any statement about the 4.4 ota being released.

Wait for someone else to try it and see what they say to do. Likely, don't take OTA update unless Towel Root works and that will take trial and error.
I am thinking as long as you didn't modify any system applications (like I did) you should be able to protect root with a program (I forget the name) then update and use the app to allow root again.
---------- Post added at 09:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:20 PM ----------
And also now that I think of it, being towelroot was just released I doubt Samsung would have patched it. What I was thinking of doing if that is the case is just flashing the new update with Odin once it's up at Samfirmware and then rerooting it.
Ha ha you can tell I'm addicted.
Checked about 8 times in the last two hours. Still haven't got an ota yet.
They said update through ota is available only in VoLTE markets, others should update manually using kies 3 at or after Jun. 20th. Thanks op for the heads up
Looks like it's only radio update, I guess it doesn't affect root.
