[Q] Phone won't boot - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
Today I was just using my (rooted) phone as usual when it suddenly crashed. The screen was stuck at lockscreen and it didn't even turn off. I did the most plausible thing and shut it off by removing the battery.
But, when I tried to restart it it refused to boot. At first it was stuck on the yellow triangle screen, so I tried connecting to my PC on download mode. ODIN recognized the phone, but ADB didn't so I was blocked out of recovery mode (since my phone's home button is broken, I can't use the button combo to go to recovery mode.). I couldn't find a stock kernel for my phone so I decided to re-flash the kernel I'd used for rooting (Siyah kernel, v6), but ODIN was permanently stuck at "NAND write Start". Since the green bar up was full I decided it was okay to unplug it.
Sadly it seems it wasn't. Now my phone won't show anything but a black screen, not even if I plug the charger in or connect it to the USB. It was showing the battery charging screen before but now not even that will work.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? I doubt I can take it to a service center since it has the yellow triangle thing on the logo and since it won't boot I can't remove it.

Sounds like you killed the motherboard.....if it *is* totally unbootable and under the 2 year warranty, take it to a service centre where you might be able to 'blag' a free repair.
If it's not under warranty, it'd be cheaper to source a second hand board and replace it yourself.....or pay (less) to an unofficial repairer to do it for you......
A good place to look for parts might be here.....

[Q] galaxy 5 I5500 briked

Hello apparently I bricked my Rom while I tried to reinstall cm 7 or 9 I cant remember from the recovery on clockwork mod I had backup done of that. But then suddenly the phone randomly decided to turn off in the middle of operation. Then the phone wont turn on and if it turns on by some miracle then It just stays at Samsung logo or PC does not recognize it by usb. So I thought that trip to service place would fix it cause i totally bricked the **** out of it lol. Anyways I got told that repair costs 95 eur and that the phone has water damage. Now keep in mind that I keep my phones in dry place and handle them with care in rainy conditions or so. So it is not had any water damage. What impresses me is that they didnt even take it apart. So now im stuck with my bricked phone again and nothing to do. So I was quessing of any specialist could tell me how could I do the unpricking by myself. (Not a noob on tech part) I can sometimes after removing battery and stuff get it in charging mode or download mode but it happens at random.
Maybe u could try soft unbrick ( I think its called so...) The program on the PC will recognize ur phone and it will unbrick ur g5:thumbup:
But please tell me: does the g5 turn on (is it showing any live?)

Well it depends. Sometimes it turns on sometimes it wont sometimes it will start downloading usb drivers while connected to usb and sometimes wont. It just does what it wants but when it turns on its frozen on samsung logo.
Can you get to Odin mode (Yellow triangle)? If you can, try going back to stock. You can get the firmwares at sammobiles.com. Make sure you download the correct firmware. If not working, try flashing ClockworkMod and flash a signed CyanogenMod .zip file. But my problem now, I cant go back to stock. Seems like Odin flashed the stock correctly, but Im stuck at glowing Samsung logo.
Try flashing again?
Yes! Try Odin if the yellow triangle appears. If u cannot get into download mode with button combination try an USB JIG which worked for me like a charm
Odin is the best Option

I reflashed the ROM from samfirmwares but I have the same problem. The phone is stuck in a boot loop after stopping and freezing for a bit at the Samsung sign
Okay. Now when you turn on your phone normally (power button), youll see the glowing samsung logo over and over again right. And it seems to go on until battery empty (I think). Try flashing ClockworkMod instead and see if it boots ClockworkMod. I revived my phone this way, but not able to get to stock.
why don't you go to you're local service?

[Q] Help, loop on battery icon

Hi, I´m having a problem with my phone. Possible Hardware, but I still have some hope. Yesterday, I was puting the phone to charge, but it didn't start charging. Only after the third try. This morning, when the alarm set of and I was going to stop it, the phone fell (half a meter) and now I cant turn it on. Power button doesn't do nothing. If I plug it to the charger or to the computer, it starts looping with the battery icon with a circle inside, then with the green battery almost full, and then all over again and again. If I press down while this happens I cand get into download mode. I Tried to flash a rom from odin (no repartition, only PDA, PHONE and CSC) and, and it went ok, but it didn't solve my problem. The loop still continues, but now the green battery doesn't apear. Instead for only half a second the "android icon" that apears while installing a rom apears. And it continues looping.
I already tried another battery. Flashing the rom from odin, the Jig doesn't power the phone, so I can't reset the counter ( I don't know if it was possible with my bootloader. I was on the leaked JB with Philz kernel). Is there anything else I can do with odin and the download mode? I don't know anything about pit files or anything else.
Instaled OLD bootloader with odin, but the jig still doesn't power on the phone
Thanks in advance.
Well, I think I'm going to give up. I'm sending it to samsung. I can't reset the counter, so I think warranty won't cover. If they say it's expensive the repair I was thinking I could open the phone myself and maby change the usb pcb. I found a video on youtube with the same thing that happens to my phone.

[Q] vibrant boot issue

I have a Vibrant that I believe may have hard bricked when odin crashed/froze during last 10% of install and now the phone wont turn on and boot, go into download mode by means of jig, pressing both vol up and down at the same time as the power button or other various jump start methods, as well as wont go into recovery. I've just ordered a new break out jig and I'm curious to see if it will work for this or like my other jig be ineffective. The Vibrant came to me disassembled, and immediately upon reassembly I experienced booting issues with it. Sometimes it would boot up revealing the home screen before it would shut off and others it would barely flash the first splash before shut off. I'd see similar behavior when I attempted to boot to recovery, but then when ever the phone was in download mode it would stay on. I flashed it several times with odin but it would never really stick. The last couple attempts had shown promise when it would start making it further into the boot process before the attempt when odin froze during the install of the rom and I can only think that now it's hard bricked. Now that my friend has brought me his Fascinate that is showing similar characteristics within his phone, I'm hoping for some help with understanding whats causing these problems. His phone wont boot unless it is plugged in, however it will continue to function after unplugging the charger from phone. That just makes me think of the Vibrant and how it would only stay on in download mode, but the 2 situations could be completely unrelated in the cause of the boot issues, if you can please help.

[Q] What is the Safest Factory Image to Restore To?

Hi All,
I've run into an odd problem. My S4 completely died on me last Saturday. I can access recovery and Odin Mode, but only if the phone is plugged in. No response from any combination of buttons should I try them without the plug in.
When I plug the phone in, it brings me to a boot loop of the battery icon with a circle indicator through it. Leave it long enough, and it'll turn off, vibrate, and do the same thing again. From what I understand, this is a problem with the main board, or the PBA. However, I figure I should try everything before I send it into Samsung for a repair.
I want to flash a factory image through Odin, just in case that could possibly be an issue. If the phone flashes correctly, but still won't boot, is that dangerous? (i.e. the phone needs a complete boot after flashing with Odin).
If I can freely flash without any side effects due to my issue, what would be the safest image to flash to it? I don't remember the name of it off-hand, but I think there were three I knew about.
My phone does come up as COM9 through Odin, so it recognizes there's a device.
Are there any risks to doing this, or should I skip all this work and just send it to Samsung?
Thanks in advance.

Bricked Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F)

Hi. I have a problem with a bricked Samsung Galaxy S7, SM-G930F (the Exynos one). A bought it a few years ago and let someone root it to play around with it. I got it back recently and it didn't turn on. I had the battery replaced which allowed me to turn it on, to a "no command" message. I got it into recovery mode. I chose "factory reset" to try to bring it back to a working state. That didn't help, so I booted into download mode and was able to flash the latest firmware; I made sure it was the correct one for this model. It would reboot to a screen with the Android logo and a message of "erasing" with rotating arrows on the Android that stopped after a few seconds. If I left it plugged in, it would stay like that indefinitely. If I unplugged it it would turn off within a few seconds. For a while I could still get it to come up in download mode, but now it does nothing no matter which buttons I press. No lights come on when I plug it into a USB charger, although a wireless charger seems to detect it as the charger's red LED comes on. Following advice on this forum for a bricked S8, I left it not charging for 24 hours to see if it would drain the battery completely, letting me try again. That didn't work; no matter how long I charge it or what buttons I press, nor whether it's plugged into the charger or computer or not, nothing happens. There's no way to tell if it is charging. I have evidence that it works since I was able to flash the firmware and that process went smoothly, but I can't get it back to that mode. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I flashed the stock firmware before the phone became unresponsive. Now I can't flash anything since none of the buttons have any effect. and the phone is not recognized by my PC.
@Doctor_Perceptron
If you can't access phone by means of Odin then with 99.9% certainty phone's boot-loader is broken. Put phone into e-waste.
If it was a Qualcomm device I'd be able to help you through EDL flashing. Since it's not I do believe your not able to flash it at this point as already said by the user above my reply
