I'm having an issue with the wifi not turning on (it stays grey saying turning on but never does) all other radios work, just not wifi. I cant get it to run on any rom except for stock. I am s-off if that helps solve anything. I've tried flashing boot.omg, I've tried other kernels, I went back full stock newest update.. still no good. If the Rom is custom WiFi refuses to turn on.

I seem to be having a small(or large?) issue with my Wi-Fi connectivity - after rooting my phone it didn't surprise me that I lost GPS functionality, it didn't surprise me that I never got it back but hey I can live without it if it means I don't have to wait for HTC.
What's beginning to bother me is the fact that my phone can't manage a Wi-Fi connection it could 3 days ago.
Tried restoring my 1st nandroid backup that I made immediately after I flashed the custom recovery and I still had no Wi-Fi. And no GPS.
Also I have tried flashing 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 as well as 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.08.29 with no result on either front.
Please help me out if ya can.
What ROM you using pal?
1st thing to try is to put both your GPS and WiFi on, then turn your phone off and back on again.
I'm currently trying to use SenseHero 2.2
I have tried turning on both WiFi and GPS and rebooting, I have also tried similarly - leaving them on and flashing the radio too...
It doesn't seem to be helping all too much.
Furthermore(and the part that concerns me most) I have tried restoring my initial nandroid, the 1st one I made and saved after flashing the custom recovery and still nothing.
and there's no mention of issues in the Sensehero thread no?
If I was you,....
I'd backup my sd,... Format it. Then run a RUU so it unroots and goes back to stock state,... then see if it is working again or not.
I've been searching threads over as many forums I can find for DAYS. But still a no go..
I suppose I'll try to unroot it. I haven't finished researching the RUU's, does it matter which one I use?
Well apparently unrooting the phone doesn't reinstate the GPS or WiFi connectivity.... GPS still "unable to determine location" and the WiFi still SEES the WLAN networks in range but still cannot connect to any of them.
I can't seem to find anyone else who has had problems with WiFi connecting let alone wifi AND gps problems.
So I flashed the newest nightly of Synergy mod and everything was working good for the night was running on wifi looking stuff up and downloading apps and everything. When i woke up the next morning I turned wifi off for work because I work outside all day and having that feature on would be pointless, I got off work and back home and when I tried to turn it back on it would "turning on wifi" for a bit and then just give me "error". I've installed other roms and even restored back to BAMF 4.9 and im still getting the "error" message when I try and turn on wifi. Im guessing its a hardware issue and might just take it to verizon. Any suggestions??
Exact same problem for me, I even downloaded the original 'upgrade' PG05IMG from the original root guide and flashed that via bootloader, and still wifi is 'error' I have no idea what to do.

Got my Atrix the other day, brought it home, running Froyo, no problems. Do the OTA GB update, installs fine. When I reboot, I get a message saying that the update didn't apply correctly. Everything was still working fine, so I ignored the message.
I unlocked my phone and installed romracers recovery, flashed CM9, and now my wifi doesn't work, and after about 30 seconds the phone reboots. Reflashed, same problem. Flashed CM7, same problem. Flashed a different radio for CM7, same problem. Went back to stock, same problem. Flashed my friends entire phone onto mine, same problem.
I've tried everything. Anyone have any ideas?
tl;dr Phone reboots like a mofo and my wifi doesn't work.

Try flash faux kernel or go back with fruitcake 2.3.4 zip.
Tried the faux kernel, and stock fruitcake/gobstopper. Nothing is working. Could it be a defective wireless card?
I've flashed CM7 and CM9, multiple GB ROMs, and nothing. This is driving me nuts.

on stock firmware turn on airplane mode, shutdown phone, pull battery turn on phone, turn off airplane mode. This will prevent wifi from turning on should prevent the reboots. however don't turn on wifi because it will reboot your phone. wifi FUBAR.
on cyanogenmod my wifi works for 2 minues, after drop you can re-enable it by
1. turn off wifi
2. turn on gps
3. turn on wifi
4. turn off gps
then the wifi will work for 2 minutes then drop again.

I flashed new ROM on my Lenovo P780, its EU rom LiFe v0.7.
Everything is working fine and stable, but one thing isnt,
I cant turn on Wifi or Bluetooth.
When I try to turn it ON, the turning on animation appears, but it keeps coming back as OFF. So I just cant turn it on.
I was trying switch the ROM back to stock rom, but this Wifi error is still there.
Does anyone know what to do with this ?

Did you make a full backup of your stock ROM? If not, you are doomed because of the WiFi and Bluetooth MAC address or NVRAM data probably have been wiped, thus you cannot switch on WiFi and Bluetooth at all.
Probably you can fix it, but I don't know whether it works or not though.
