Hi Guys, upgraded my hubs to a SIII from a SIII mini - but I need to findout where I can setup the following function. Within the phone settings on the mini (android 4.1.2) in the accessibilities/Text-To-Speech/Driving Mode you have the Unlock Screen which lets the phone say whats on the lock screen when you click the power button and tells you what page your on as you scroll through the screens.
But I cant find it in 4.3.... looked in Hands-Free Mode and Accessibilities I need this desperately as the hubs is blind, any ideas where it is or if they have removed this function

Hi, I am having a problem with my galaxy s2 which I was hoping you could help me with. I just updated the firmware to ICS 4.0.3 via Kies but now whenever I lock the screen and then press the home or lock button again the lock screen does not show, I see the home screen or whatever screen I was viewing before pressing the lock button (in settings I configured pattern, PIN and password, but the same happens in all scenarios). I already tried factory reset but nothing changes, could anyone please help? Thanks
You should set "lock immediately after sleep" in security settings.

hello,
Quitte old message but I've the same issue on Galaxy S2 with OS 4.1.2: no screen lock anymore despite security setting. And I've the same issue on SIM PIN lock: despite activation of PIN request, no question after reboot. Just the SIM remain unactive till I give the PIN code in security setting parameters. It look like the software piece for locking is not anymore active ?
Any help would be nice (I tryed to reuse the Galaxy S2 for my son).
Thanks.
Hi everyone,
first of all I want to say I'm new to xda-developers and also I couldn't find the GT-i9100 in the list for new posts so maybe this isn't the right place for this thread . in this case, sorry, maybe someone has a hint where to post it then
So here's my problem:
My phone won't enter lockscreen. Around three days ago it started to just resume back where I had left once I press the home button (the round one in the middle) without asking me for my PIN.
I had gotten the phone used, so I did a factory reset and afterthat I installed cyanogenmod, thus rooting it, but not manually - I guess the installer did that for me.
First I had a pattern as screenlock but after applying the full-disk-encryption it would only let me choose between PIN and passoword so I set up a PIN.
Then it just started to skip the lockscreen when waking up. I get still asked the lockscreen-PIN when booting, then the SIM-PIN, then the lockscreen-PIN again, then it boots, but when the screen turns black i can always resume by pressing the home button. Also, the power button just makes the screen black, but also without ever locking it...
What I tried so far:
Settings / Lock Screen / Screen Security / Automatically Lock set to 5s
Settings / Lock Screen / Screen Security / Power button instantly locks checked
Settings / Lock Screen - Widget Pager unchecked (i read it somewhere, can't find the exact source anymore)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/lock-screen-home-button-fixed-t1506317 --> also tried this method, also rebooted after applying every of these changes listed above
I hope this is not too much of a stupid problem because I missed something really obvious - although that would be nice
Anyways, i would really appreciate it if anyone knew a solution to this.
After all, full disk encryption isn't exactly useful if your phone is always unlocked...
Thanks in advance everyone!

If you enable abd debugging in Our mobile and adb in ur laptop you can revert back.
Samsung Mega: if i am typing a text or have the keyboard up at all, and the screen goes to lock, when I go to unlock the device, the keyboard is still there.. this has made it impossible for me to use a pin code to unlock the device as the keyboard hides the unlock keypad. this just started happening today and is very frustrating.. any tips? haven't installed any new apps or updates recently.
When I turn the screen on my phone with smart Lock it opens to a blank lock screen. I have to hit the power button twice after that to get it to open to my home page. Is there a known solution to this?
Is direct unlock enabled?
T
Thanks that fixed it.
Strangely I got the same problem. Direct unlock enabled. First unlock bring me to a blank desktop (only wallpaper and status bar showing). I have to then lock the phone again and unlock - and then the launcher is up and running. - Samsung A3 2016
Edit: With Direct unlock off it seems to work, but then you have to swipe to show the launcher...

Hi, I am having exactly the same issue with a Poco F1 running the latest Lineage 16 ROM. Has anyone managed to suggest a fix for this? I love the ROM, but I used to use the Direct Unlock feature without issue until recently, and I really miss this feature.
Here's hoping someone can help with this,
Regards, Richard
