I'm tired of dealing with themes and roms.... each has it's pros and cons, but what I really want is a way to just get rid of the AT&T sign in the top left corner of the screen on my Atrix!
Is there any way to get rid of it on either a rooted stock Atrix, or a de-odexed system?
(I'm assuming a de-odexed system would be easier for developers, but I really have no clue.)

GingerBlur provides a native Gingerbread-esk experience and no ATT graphics.

I'm pretty sure he said he didn't want to deal with roms. I don't either, but I want that at&t gone.
Swifted from my Atrix.
I used Gingerblur for a while, but there were a few things I REALLY hated it.
First, I really like the stock alarm clock, second I noticed a battery drain because of it.
So I got rid of Gingerblur...
You have to edit the framework-res.apk. If I have some time tonight I might be able to do it for you.

I'd really appreciate the help! I wouldn't even know where to start if I were doing this myself...
I did not have enough time tonight (finals). But Ill do it tomorrow evening.
No worries.... just finished mine
That would make me really happy too! If this could also remove the AT&T microcell logo from when I'm at home too, it would be amazing. With that, wifi, and vibrate all together it gives room for all of one more notification.

Here this is a .zip you can flash from CWM. It will also deodex your system if you have not done that. if you want I can create one that just pushes the framework-res.apk and does not touch anything else but since I wasnt sure what you were running I did this. Also it should only be used on 1.8.3 and on att atrix.

Is this modification possible with odexed?

Thank you! Worked perfectly.
Hey,
I'm not an owner of a Thunderbolt, but my wife is. She's annoyed with all the verizon crap on it. What would you guys recommend to do to have a perfectly clean rom ?
She still wants all the HTC Sense stuff and not get used to anything else.
My first though was to root it, and then with Titanium Backup just go over all the apps and uninstall them one by one. But if there is a clean rom that already has that I could be better.
Thank you
I have been flashing a lot of different roms lately but one sense rom I really like Skyraider Zeus. Very nice and stable rom for me.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
KillaSense, FactorySense, Skyraider are all very clean stock roms that have all the Verizon bloat removed and all run very smooth.

just root the stock app and remove the apps you dont want. She will get rid of the crap & still have her stock rom that she is familiar with...
If you look through the ROMs, there are a couple that are bone stock with the exception of being rooted. Get S-off then install one of those and remove what apps you don't want.
Thank you everyone, I've managed to do everything correctly. I've installed FactorySense. But I'll probably have to try another one because this one doesn't have the HTC Alarm clock app!!!!!
Just use Titanium Backup and "freeze" any of the apps you don't want. You'll need to root in order to use.

If you want, go here http://www.htcthunderbolt4g.com/htc-thunderbolt-custom-roms/gingerbreadrockv1-0-v1-1-(newest-gingerbread-leak)/ and you can download the stock rom that ships with the thunderbolt. Its the latest version and has all the bloatware from verizon removed (3.1a version) except the data usage app/widget
there is version 3.0a - rooted but nothing removed
& 3.1a - rooted and debloated as well as other tweaks
There are other roms around as well if this doesnt suit you
Thanks, this looks great, I think I'll try to install that tomorrow!
The only other rom I was looking at was the MR4:

But this one 3.1a is probably better right ? I need just the most stable one
I have had this issue lately, my Rezound will freeze up and reboot randomly after taking a pic. Not every time, just randomly, here and there.

stock rom don't usually get random reboots so i assumed that either the rom or kernel have been changed and when you ruu the phone, usually the problems disappear.
and yes, for the question about computer.
when i get a problem with my computer, i backup my stuff to an external hard drive then i do a factory reset and start over.

After I get a phone that works and root it, Im sure the devs will have ICS w/ sense 4.0 baked in for our pleasure.
My Dinc came w/ sense 1.0 and i wound up with sense 3.5 on it before I retired it and it worked great w/ nil's Rom

My wifes Fascinate is dying, I was given a Thunderbolt and rooted it. She just can't get use to the phone's interface. Is there a ROM that makes it look like Samsung's interface?
I also need everything to work, camera, wifi, 4G.... Am I asking to much?

As in it having touchwiz? What exactly is she looking for to carry over from what she used on her samsung? Try holo launcher and see if she likes that better. Its on the play store
Put her on liquid ics and then get the touchwiz launcher. Requires android 4.0+

Yes although its a stock kernel so no over clocking and probably slower. Unless there is an aosp ics rom fully working

On the main text section that shows all texts from different people, if you slide your finger across their name from left to right it calls them, if you go right to left it txt's them. She also complained about how many steps there are to make a phone call (that might just be learning this new phone).
I keep hearing about Liquid and it sounds perfect except the video camera doesn't work. She takes a lot of videos of the kids, so it's not an option.
theres a widget in sense called people fav. where you can add their contact to it and tapping the pic it will give you an option of text or call.
I'll teach her how to use the phone properly and install widgets if I can't get a rom that emulates a samsung.
I guess I have nothing to lose. She doesn't really like the current factory setup, so I guess I'll just flash one of the most common ones mentioned and see if she likes it, since nobody makes exactly what I'm looking for.
Thanks for the suggestions!
I really don't want to sound like a jerk when i say this but, if she wanted the phone to act like a Samsung then why did she get it? Why not just get a Samsung? It's going to be a lot of work for something that may have cost a little more.
The closest thing I can think of is a GB rom with sense removed and using GO Launcher EX with the GO Launcher TouchWiz theme. Both are in the play store. For me Go Launcher has always been a little laggy but if she's used to Touch Wiz then she's used to it..

Gotcha, I understand completely. My family were sold the HTC Thunderbolt because they were told it was a good phone. I took it because it was free with our contract when the district manager set us up. It isn't a horrible phone but I have definitely owned better.
I recently got my hands on a shiny new HTC One and I really do love it. Loving out even more now that it's rooted and I removed all that crap AT&T put on it. (tards)
Anyway, I had some questions for the community. I'm coming from the Galaxy Nexus and I had CM installed so I'm used to a lot of things like battery % in the status bar and the daydream app.
Thing is, I kinda like the new sense (minus the launch and blinkfeed) and I'm really wanting to stay on stock if it's possible. I know that whenever the new update arrives I'll have the coveted % but what about daydream?
If anyone gots some info on that I'd really aprreciate it.
Oh and I also really miss the battery/power menu on vanilla android. Does anyone know if there is an app or a mod that I can use to get the same experience?
Thanks

I think many of us AT&T One owners here on XDA are running 4.2.2 ROMs from the International HTC One section due to their perfect compatibility (no need to change CID, go S-OFF or flash firmwares to run ROMs from that section, and all AT&T-specific issues from the 4.1.2 days are resolved) since the AT&T section is a ghost town in comparison. That is how you have your cake and eat it too, as your title says.
To answer your first question, the stock based HTC One 4.2.2 ROMs do have built-in daydream and stock battery %, so the AT&T update to 4.2.2 (if and when it ever comes) should have these features also.
I know you said you wanted to stay on stock if possible, but keep in mind that AT&T is holding back this phone's potential. Since you're already used to 4.2.2, and we can all wait on AT&T until the cows come home, you may want to consider just biting the bullet and flashing a stock rooted HTC Sense 4.2.2 ROM. There's one here in the AT&T dev section that is an excellent option if you're wanting to stay stock, based on the latest build from HTC. The stock AT&T radio works fine with it BTW.
In the new 4.2.2 ROMs, HTC has gotten rid of the black menu bar in apps by officially providing the option of mapping a long-pressing of the home button to the menu function. If you end up finding out that long pressing the home button intermittently acts like a single press, upgrading to the matching 4.2.2 firmware helps significantly with improving the sensitivity of the capacitive touch buttons, but that's getting a bit ahead of ourselves...just wanted to mention it. However the new firmware won't work with the stock 4.1.2 AT&T ROM.
Thanks for the info and the link.

Nevermind, I got it. Although, now I'm kinda scared to flash it cuz since I rooted there's been some screwy things going on. I was using Titanium Backup to delete some att apps and some of them keep coming back like Facebook and Twitter. When I go to superuser it says that it needs to update binary and then it tries but then it says it can't and that it's a problem. I can manually go into TWRP and flash stuff as I did with a script that supposedly wiped the crapware from att but I'm still not sure about flashing something custom.
any ideas or should I just go for it.
Also, I'm guessing that since it didn't give a limk for Gapps then I don't need them right?

Stock kernel has write protection for the /system folder. You'll need to flash a custom ROM that has the write protection removed. Much easier to flash a custom ROM than to mess with the **** AT&T has done to it.

Yes that is the International section.
If you want to stay on the stock rooted ROM, you can just disable those apps instead of deleting them, using the method built into Android (Settings>>Apps>>find your app and disable it), or alternatively you can freeze them in Titanium. This doesn't require write access to the system partition. These disabled apps will still occupy a small amount of file space but they won't be running anymore and using up RAM, and their respective icons will be gone.
You can flash a custom ROM from either the AT&T section or the International section. The International section has a much better selection and the threads are much more active. There are rooted stock ROMs (Sense and Google Edition) and custom ROMs (Sense, Google Edition and AOSP). AOSP ROMs on the One are pretty good now but there are a few issues with them, and you lose features like Beats and Zoe if you care about those things.
you can still get the HTC Sense camera for GPE. Works for me, with the exception that I can't click to my gallery from the camera itself (but the pictures do save there).

Me too, but I used Zoe's before, and they dont work with the GPE framework...too many files missing. You can search through the forums to try various things based on the GE rom you've flashed though. I ended up going to ARHD, which has all the features OP asked for anyway.
