Best sound settings from internal speakers - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I see z2 has so many settings and options for sound like x loud, clear audio, equalizers etc.. Which is the best option for great sound from internal speakers which would give the best great loudest music?*
Sent from my D6503 using xda app-developers app

I believe X-Loud and S-Force will do. Each to his own taste, I prefer X-Loud but well there hasn't really been S-Force on any other Sony phones before.

I'd say everything depends on the music genre you listen to. the original Beats Audio system was created for hiphop/pop/club/Justin Bieber/Lady Gaga/etc. lovers, and it focuses mostly on lower frequencies. yes, it also boosts trebles, but it mainly makes the bass deeper. I haven't used it, but I've read some reviews saying it goes badly with music using lots of medium tones, like rock or classical.
I am using Walkman player with ClearBass and while it does a good job, I still prefer to set the EQ to the "Trebles" setting as I mostly listen to indie/folk/electro-swing and the strong bass goes horribly with them. so I guess, you'd have to test every one of those mods and decide by yourself which one you like the most

Good alternative to DSP Manager for stock rooted?

I go back and forth between AOSP and CleanROM, and the think I miss the most with the stock based CleanROM is DSP Manager. I've seen lots of posts and threads for DSP Manager versions that supposedly work with stock, but when I install them they either run smoothly but don't affect audio or they force close repeatedly.
With AOSP, I install Basic Kernel and have unofficial Voodoo Sound plus DSP Manager :good:. Is there any way for me to get sound comparable to that on stock-based ROMs?

If you are using solely power amp you are really missing out.
And as far as the beats add on goes, that is also an add on in acid mod. Really should check it out guys, boosts audio quality by a lot.

Less music processing is good music processing. I've tried most of the available audio mods (but not on this phone yet) and the difference is not much unless you use/like the effects. Most of the mods use tricks like enabling compression to make it sound 'better'. The EQ presets are a joke. An EQ curve should not have all the adjusted frequencies boosted. The right way is to drop 2 bands rather than boost six of them. And freq's boosted 10-12db? If you have even decent phones (say $40) and you need more than a couple of freq's adjusted a few db (6 max) than SQ has a different meaning to you than people who enjoy accurate sound reproduction.
But it's your ears, do what sounds good to you. That's the cool thing about music. You only have to satisfy yourself.
This is not directed at any one person even though i used the word 'you'. I'm just kind of annoyed with the hyperbole around these sound mods.

poor sound quality on xperia p?

hi, i am using sony xperia p,its sim card slot is damaged,so i decided to use my phone as music player, but my xperia p have poor sound quality through head phones and back speaker.i am using mh750 head phone, its good with my xperia s,but when i connected to xperia p feels bit noisy and low bass too.my k800 have extreme bass through head phone after installing clear bass.elf and custom acoustic driver, there is any way to increase the bass and loudness of my sony xperia p.now its running on jelly bean.thanks in advance..
Well for this I would recommend you to use a custom sound mod like ACiD etc...
Try searching in Apps & Themes threads you will get it!
Did you try to disable XLoud?
XLoud increases the dB of the speaker, but it sounds weird.
You could also try the Viper for Android (ViPER4Android) sound mod...
You can find it in Dark Rom v2.5 preinstalled!

[MOD] PureX Audio (v3.0)

zerromusic update
This is not my work. I saw mBear posted this a little white back for the Z1, and he gave me permission to post it here for the Ultra. Any issues comment below and I'll see what I can do....
Credits: @MightyBear007 & @ZeroInfinity
** NOTES **
- This mod will work for Locked/Unlocked Bootloaders as long as you have a custom recovery.
- The speaker's audio quality becomes worse as you increase the volume. This is because our speaker cannot handle the output i.e. loud volumes with increased quality. It is impossible to keep audio quality and loud volume because of our hardware. The Z1 and Z Ultra DON'T have a dedicated Amp inside it's chipset. So don't expect extreme loud sound.
- When playing music, it could take a few seconds to let Sound Enhancements load your settings
- If you are having audio skipping issues, make sure that you exclude: Walkman (If you have 2 Walkman apps, select the second one), PureXAudio Engine and MusicFX in STAMINA Mode so that the phone will not try and make it inactive. If you have Skipping in any other music player, add that in the exclude list of Stamina mode.
Features:
New Audio effects/presets (PureXHiClarity/PureXPsychoRealism/PureXBeats)
-Sony Digital Sound Enhancement Engine ported from Walkman NWZ-F805 (EXCLUSIVE TO PXA, STRONGLY ADVISE TO TURN DOWN VOLUME BEFORE ENABLING)
-Disabled Hearing Protection
-Slightly louder speaker, earpiece and headphone volume
-Improved ALSA with many plugins and custom configs
-32Bit Unsigned Integer Quantization
-256x SuperClock Frequency Audio Upsampling Quantization (11.6MHz)
-More Anti-Aliasing
-Even less static noise
-Improved audio resolution
-No Audio clipping
-ALSA which AUTO CONFIGS settings for your audio chip
-Re-Introduced ClearAudio and VPT Wrapper from Xperia V ICS firmware
-Qualcomm Audio mode set to FluencePRO
-Enabled Qualcomm Surround-Sound recording
-Wider and Clearer Soundstage
-Ultra Clear High Frequency treble
-Crystal Clear vocals and background vocals
-Alive, beating drums
-Less Distortions
-More Dynamic Range
-Very low audio latency
-System Wide modification - You don't need to press anything to turn it on
-New and powerful audio libraries
-NOT BLOATED WITH USELESS FILTERS AND FILES

Yes, I've been having similar issues with V4A on stock roms, although I got it to work with one music application (Play Music) in compatible mode. V4A worked flawlessly on AOKP roms though.
Gonna check this one out later as I need to have a working audio enhancing mod on stock.

It should be significantly better over low to medium sound volume. any louder and you will sound quite bad.
On my SBH-52 it is quite noticeable... sounds really good. Bass sounds punchier and mid range is good too. tweakers sound under done, but I think thats the whole point in the MOD

Viper4Android tunes up the whole ALSA Parameters
whereas this mod multiplies the frequencies and does some super sampling which can only be achieved in Sony Devices

[Q] Z2 Sound enhacement in all apps

As the title says, is there any way to route the other apps to use the sound enhacements? For example poweramp has a Music Fx feature, when activated, it uses the system's sound enhacements but youtube and other apps such as browsers have a low quality sound.
I use existenz premium lp.
I used to have existenz kk which had improved sound in all apps.
Simple. Should you be rooted and have recovery, flash any desired sound mod. If you are not rooted and have recovery, there is not much you can do...
I think you don't understand my problem. I already have two mods that give me exactly what I want but the sound effects are only available in Sony apps such as Walkman video album, and poweramp because it can be forced to use the system's sound.

Bro you really don't get it. Of course the mod gives a more powerful volume, I'm not complaining about volume, I'm taking about quality here. The sound effects do not apply to other apps. I'm a perfectionist and I feel even a tiny difference and believe me it's far from the best it can do (YouTube sound vs power amp/Walkman etc).

Not at all. Just far higher quality and far louder. Best of all you get dual speakers ringing when you get phone calls/sms messages and also dual speakers when using loudspeaker in a phone call!

I think you mean the equalizer setting.
As far I know, the global equalizer affecting all apps by default was removed by Google in Lollipop and instead the apps need to have option inside to enable its own equalizer or the system equalizer.
