I need screen shots of the "Settings Provider" inside of SQLite Editor. If you have SQLite Editor, open and go to Settings Provider. Click settings.db then system. I need screen shots of everything on that list, every entry please. Also, please do global as well. Any help appreciated.

Works great on my P4300 (Wizard) with WM6.1 The only thing it is missing is support for storage cards. I can select where I save the files, but all options are on the device. I am a Linux user so this requires an extra step to copy them to the SD card so I can mount it and pull them off. Other than that, it is a great app!
Looks great, but do I need to extract this zip file from a PC? When I try & unzip it from my Tilt (using Resco File Explore '07) it says "Nothing to extract. Selection does not contain any files".
Thanks.

I used built-in compression in Vista to create the zip so maybe that is the problem. You can unzip on the PC and copy to your Tilt.
Thanks for trying it.

anything for smartphones?
Very nice - great job!
@ oldsap
I cannot use a listbox on smartphones so not sure how I would implement the task list option. However, I would be glad to do a smartphone version if there is enough people that would use it.
@ Moe5508
Thanks for the kind words.
@ All
I'll have a new version next week that includes Storage cards for the Save folder. In the meantime, note that the box that has the Save folder is open to typing also. You can type a path there without using the browse feature. That should be a temporary fix to allow you to save your captures anywhere on the device.

Post #1 is updated with a new version that supports Storage Cards. I had to do this by brute force. My library woudl only return network folders so to get a storage card to appear in the folder browse it must have a name that starts with Storage Card. That should be the default anyway.
Hope it works for you.
Just tested it out and it works GREAT!! Thanks again for a wonderful app!!

If you create a shortcut (for anything) you can place it directly in the ..\windows\Start Menu\Programs ( also add \Sub-Folder of choice as desired)
Here is an example View attachment 298575 (unzip and copy to ..\windows\Start Menu) which starts IE and opens the BBC web site. The syntax of the shortcut is simply
Code:
:MSPIE www.bbc.co.uk
It will then appear in your Start Menu screen in the appropriate location.
You can easily duplicate an existing one and then alter the argument to the desired web address.
Position of icons within the Start Menu is controlled within the Registry and can be amended by tweaking.
Thanks, but it opens internet explorer and i prefer open Opera mobile, is it posible?

Hi, you simply need to replace the :MSPIE in the shortcut with the equivalent call for Opera...
It will be something like
:OPERA www.bbc.co.uk
I don't have opera installed just now so can't immediately check - have a look in the \windows directory (or it may be under Programs) - find the Opera executable and it expect it is something straightforward like Opera.exe - un which case the above will likely work. If it is somthing a bit different, edit accordingly.
Sorry can't be definitive, but should be failry easy to sort.

Yes that can also be done. You have to spcify the location of the required icon as part of the Shortcut.
You need to add an extra section to the Shortcut in the form:
\DirectoryLocation\File.xxx,-nn
Typically you already have a file, be it an .exe or .dll which contains the required icon. Replace File.xxx with the required filename. The-nn specifies the location of the icon in the file, eg. -16
The easiest way to do this is use a dedicated app like SK Shortcuts Manager which can look inside and identify the icons and automatically create the shortcut with the correct syntax.

Hi I have a need to create a shortcut for windows mobile internet explorer that contains a "?" character in the url. When I include that character in the url string it is truncated at that point.
Example:
Code:
56#:MSPIE https://www .somedomain.com/indexapi.php?key=value
When the url reaches the internet exporer address bar it is only "https://www .somedomain.com/indexapi.php". The key and value are parsed out by the operating system I suppose. I tried using the ascii hex equivalent "%3F" instead and the internet explorer got the full url, but the apache server on the other end did not know what to do with the "%3f". Does anyone know a work around? I need the key and value as login credentials to the web site.

[APP] NotepadWS - Tabbed text editor with online Search feature - updated (2.7)

NotepadWS ver 2.7
NotepadWS is a notepad-like application with TABS feature and some interesting tools such as the WEB SEARCH.
The Web Search (context menu) allows you to get google, wiki or dictionary contents about the word or text selected from NotepadWS,
it could be a good way to perform your search quickly and easily!
FEATURES
- Edit up to four different text files in the same session.
- Switch from one tab to another with just one click.
- Ability to add or remove tool bars at any time.
- Configure each tab separately.
- Online search of selected word or text; google search, wiki search, dictionary.
ver 2.0
- Open and Save dialogs totally redesigned to be more useful and finger-friendly
- Settings page added
ver 2.55
- File association works propely
- Max file size supported increased
- Word-wrap options added
- Copy and paste between different tabs added
- Cmd ExitAll added
- File and Folder Shortcuts feature added
- Start folder option added (if left blank, the folder of last file used is taken)
- Single click option added
- Font and color customization tool added
- Ability to have tabs with different properties (font, colors, start folder, etc)
- Tab character enabled (by pressing tab button you get column alignment)
ver 2.57
- Overwrite related bug fixed
- Read-only related bug fixed
ver 2.7
- External clipboard functions added

Now NotepadWS allows to configure and save the properties of each tab,
so you can have 4 tabs completely different one from another;
each tab has its own font type, size, style and color, background color,
start folder and other properties you can configure through the settings page.
Instead, if you prefer to configure all the tabs in the same way, you don't need
the repeat the setup more times, just setup one and check "apply to all tabs"
in the settings page.
Requirements
- Windows Mobile 5.0 or later
- Touchscreen device
- VGA or higher resolution screen
- .NET Compact Framework 3.5
Hope you enjoy!

Hello,
Your program is very interesting, but I can not use just one problem you encounter, and it is important: only lets you open documents in the folder "my documents" in the main memory device. You should modify the program to allow open and save files in any folder on the device memory and the external memory card.
I have not tested whether extensions can also be associated with your program to automatically open when clicking those files from the file explorer program.
If I could use it widely, as I need, I would donate a sum of money for it, in that there is a problem.
Sincerely,

Hello,
True, I had not noticed having to click twice (or press "enter") to run this option to access all folders on the device.
What if I notice that you can not open large files, not size, but more than 100 KB can not be with them.
Nor could I see if you can associate text files "txt" to open this program directly from file explorer.
Sincerely,
Hello,
I've been testing the program further NotepadWS, which I consider a good application, but there are two problems with it:
I have seen two important issues that prevent me from replacing AgileNotesTouch, which is what I use now, for NotepadWS:
1 .- NotepadWS not allow it to associate with files by extension, to boot automatically with this application. For example, if you associate files "txt" with NotepadWS ... file does not start with "txt" open.
2 .- I do not know NotepadWS maximum size allowed, but a file of 100 KB or more does not open properly. AgileNotesTouch allows very large files sizes, without problems.
It is important that NotepadWS could solve these two problems.
Sincerely,

@xdaid, appreciate the effort you've put in to this app so far. It has a lot of promise.
I've been playing with it off and on since the 2.0 release. It has not replaced me using AgileNotes (which has its own set of issues for me) on a regular basis, but I look forward to the possibility.
Here are my suggestions and please note I understand you have a life and your own set of requirements when you code, so I know maybe none of these comments might be used...
1. if you can support PWI files
2. if you can handle files with carriage return + linefeed end of line terminator (eg, DOS, windows based text files). Right now, files with CR+LF show up as unprintable characters
3. if you can allow for a default file folder on startup. Use the file shortcut UI you just implemented and apply it to select default, and/or favorite folders. I see you've just implemented it to memorize the last used folder, that is a good start and should be retained unless a default folder is specified.
4. allow for a default file type (eg, TEXT, LOG, etc). Currently always defaults to TEXT when you restart the app.
5. suggest adding or putting an EXIT APP type selection/option in your "cmd" CLOSE action list. Right now it has "X" to only close the active tab, but you have to go to the MAIN MENU to exit the app. Just does not seem intuitive in my opinion.
6. allow the user to select a default background color, font size, and font color if possible (to override system defaults). I realize this suggestion may be difficult or out of scope.
Future wish list, knowing it would likely require extra effort as you may not have the development environment to test on:
a. support the newer WM 6.5.x layout with the STARTMENU and "X" button on the bottom of the screen, or at least detect you are running on the newer versions and keep that bottom bar accessible.
b. use a better file selection UI. Right now, at least on my device, you have to tap on the actual scroll bar to scroll. It should be smooth and fluid like some of the default file selection interfaces in AgileNotes or even Resco File Explorer.
c. allow similar option like Resco or Total Commander for double or single tap to open a directory or file in your selection UI.
Again, thank you for the time and effort you have invested in to this application thus far.

@xdaid. Sweet! Did a quick test run, and seems you incorporated many of my suggestions. Nice work so far.
Only major concern right now is:
- allowing up/down scroll gestures in the file selection UI without actually having to tap directly on the scroll bars. Trying to do a scroll gesture typically selects the item your finger first lands on - basically seems the filename/directory listing of that UI reacts to single tap picking only.
Other than that, my left overs from my prior wish list post are still items:
(1) pwi support and (a) winmo 6.5.x UI support
Again those are not critical, just something for down the road - if even possible.
It's pretty close to being my daily editor and that's saying a lot. Keep up the great work.
Please re-download 2.55 cab installer
i forgot to include a small bug fix, now the cab is updated.
@ powinmo: scroll gesture in file selection UI should not be a problem, i will implement it soon.
Instead, pwi support could be quite hard to realize, i have some ideas about how
extract text from / save text to pwi files. Just ideas so far, but i can try..

Thx for update works a treat

@xdaid - appreciate your continued work on the app! Looking forward to seeing that file selection UI more usable and closer to how others UIs act.
As for pwi support, I would put that priority at the very bottom and address any other items you feel are more important.
I do have one additional request after using your app a bit more now:
- add the ability to recognize a scroll up/down gesture versus highlighting text when editing. Right now, when you try to do that the editor strictly acts as if you want to mark text for an action (eg, copy, looking, etc). To scroll through a long document, you have to literally tap on the scroll bar versus the natural inclination of using a gesture.
Other than that, I'm almost sold on trying to the app as my regular editor. Thank you for being so receptive to user comments and suggestions!
For those who like to use the tab character to get fixed spaces / column alignment:
I added a 2.56 version, it's the same as 2.55 but tab character is enabled.

Hello Stefano,
I think your application becomes an application program is essential to our Windows Mobile devices. You've got an editor and text file reader very versatile and practical, ingenious solutions. Thanks for your good program.
Sincerely,
I've been looking for a nice notepad app for a while now, this looks pretty nice . Thanks for sharing!
I have a bit of a request: would you consider adding file 'scheme' functionality. Say you are looking a reg file, the 'scheme' would highlight certain predefined key words or phrases making it more readable. The same could then be true for .xml, .mscr or any other file that can be read by notepad. You think that would be doable?

[APP] AOSP browser with normal viewport (zoom)

For me AOSP is still the best browser, it is quick, smooth and still does flash... The major problem I always had with it is that websites always loaded zoomed in (like almost every Android browser) because the viewport used to render the page was small. This has always been too big and blurry on all the 10 inch tablets I've had. The fix for this was to enter "about:debug" menu and untick "use wide viewport" in debug settings. I'm sure some of you have done this plenty, however this option never stuck and I had to manually enter "about:debug" every time I started the browser which gets confusing and annoying.
But now thanks to a handy XDA thread a quick recompile I can now browse with the correct zoom to my heart's content. The browser now loads in debug mode by default rendering pages spot on.
Before:
After:
This the AOSP browser was taken from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35551725#post35551725 recompiled apk is attached below.
Here are the instructions from that thread to install the browser:
Turbotab said:
> Must be rooted.
> Copy the browser.apk into the system/app folder
> With a root file explorer change the file permissions of the browser.apk to -rw-rw-r (you will see this represented as 664) If you don't do this, it won't install.
> You must rename the BrowserProviderProxy.apk & BrowserProviderProxy.odex otherwise the browser will force close, just add a 1 to the name e.g. 1BrowserProviderProxy.apk1 Do not delete them, if you still want to OTA update Android. Android checks for any changes to the system/app folder before performing an OTA, so you will have to delete the browser.apk and rename the two file back to stock, when it is OTA time.

Once you have restarted your device for the app to install you will need to open the browser and go into settings -> Debug and untick "use wide viewport" you should also untick the "show javascript console" box as we don't need it.
And you should be able to enjoy your quick browser without having your pages all zoomed in.
The chrome sync from the other thread should still work with this browser, but I have not tried it and cannot confirm this. The usual disclaimers apply, the apk is provided "as is".
Thanks to the original people who brought out the browser.apk in the original threads and thanks to the guy in this thread for the guide on how to keep the browser in debug mode and thanks to the other threads on xda which helped me in how to recompile apks. Hope I'm not stepping on any toes and have posted in the right place.
And here's my current favourite browsing setup on my nexus 10:
Status bar hidden courtesy of GMD, status pie menu from LMT and the quick controls enabled in the labs menu of AOSP, with all of those mods you can see almost twice as much webpage

This the AOSP browser was taken from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35551725#post35551725 recompiled apk is attached below.
Here are the instructions from that thread to install the browser:

Thanks, was about to ask for a screen comparation! Awesome. However, I can't find the option that you say we have to untick (usew wide viewport). My browser is in spanish and I can't find it, where is it?
I'm not at my tablet at the moment but make sure you're in the settings menu, the debug option is at the very bottom.
I am looking at the screen on my phone and "use wide viewport" is the 8th option down, the javascript console option is the 6th option down.
I'll check where the options are on my tablet when I get home to be sure.

Oh, for me the java option is the 3rd in Settings - Adavanced. Seems it's pretty changed.
Hi, you seem to be in the wrong settings menu, you should have another option as below labelled as debug:
It is the same on here, the viewport option is 8th down. If you do not have the debug option type about:debug into the address bar and go back into settings. Have you definitely installed the browser apk from my post?

I did on my nexus 10 but I was looking to the settings menu from a nexus 10 that hasn't got your modified aosp browser, I guess that's why! Sorry lol.
The 4.2.2 Evervolv Browser.apk works great.

Question is there a photo editor like the one for screenshots?

there is a editors for screen shots wher you can write on the image and other things, is there one for photos?
Why not just use the default Google Photos app. It has the same annotation tools so you can write text or draw. It also has a lot more tools.

i was hoping for something that did not require 20 steps just to reach the edit option.(like how it is for screen shots). but ok.
The editor app for screenshots (Markup) can be used unless you've set some app as the default editor by clicking use always instead of just once, you may need to reset app preferences.
