my P6800 didnt came with an USB data cable, and I'm gonna need it to flash roms, adb and transfer large volumes of data.
I've looked on ebay and ordered one that was compatible with P1000.
I've then asked the seller if he knew if it was compatible with P68x0 and he said it isnt!
anyone can confirm that? I assumed all samsung tablets would use the same port (aka upside down iPad)!
if it isnt, I better cancel the shipping ASAP!

Yes any Samsung type 30 pin cable should work.

It will definitely work. I am using one of those generic type which I bought previously for my tab 7 and subsequently used it for the past 7 plus and now present 7.7
I've just bought an HML adapter from Ebay and it's from Samsung, according to the seller it should work with my LG Optimus G
BUT IT DOESN'T!!
I already tried reinstalling the OSP apk but it says it's already installed on my phone.
So, could it be the adapter? or my phone?
Im currently running on 4.0.4 ROOTED

I have a Samsung mhl from an Infuse, have used it to mirror to TV. OSP needs PC program from link to work.
The cable connection wizards is asking for a password....????
I've tried 123, 12345, 123456, 000, 0000 and nothing.
There's a pic of the phone with "COM 3" under it.
Come on guys!!! need some help!!
Samsung MHL adapters use a 5 pin to 11 pin conversion tip (see here). AFAIK, it's a Samsung only thing though I have no idea if it'll work with an OG.

Here is a link for user guide, it mentions USB and WiFi for OSP. Have never tried OSP but Samsung MHL does work to connect to TV. Page 82 in guide.
There's nothing about a password on the user's manual, I've just asked for help and sent an email to LG support.

Are you trying to use MHL to watch video on your TV? Or are you trying to use the on screen phone application for your computer? They are completely different. I've never been asked for a password when using MHL.

My point was mhl isn't listed as a connection option for osp. Looking at posts from other phones there is an option to change password on phone. Some devices osp is under connection options, some have it in wireless and networks. Hope this helps.
Neither the OSP and the MHL works... when I connect the cellphone to the pc the connection wizard asks for a password, and the MHL from Samsung I bought from Ebay doesn't work, I guess because it's a 5 pin.
I haven't received an email from LG Support yet.

My Samsung MHL mirrors my phone to a TV fine. Are you powering the adapter with micro USB?

I was just about to ask the same thing. I have an MHL cable that has both the HDMI and the USB. If I don't connect both HDMI and USB to my television, it won't work. I have to use USB 3 because 1 and 2 don't provide enough voltage. I could also use a powered USB HUB if I want to keep the phone fully charged. This is ideal, because the screen never turns off.
I bought this cable, if you need one that's verified to work.

hehehehehehe pluging the USB was what I needed to do, there was not enough voltage!!!
thanx!

Hate to bump an old thread, but I bought this exact cable as well, and cannot get it to work with my Optimus G. Works fine with my wifes GSIII.
does the order of plugging in the cables matter?
Just plug the inputs into the TV and usb first. Try a powered USB hub, or AC phone charger plug for the USB. The TV may not be providing enough current.

SGSIII and note2 use 11 pins mhl adapter which is different from all the others. Newer devices like optimus g, htc one and s4 use new 2.0 mhl adapter. I believe s4 and note3 support both 11 pins and 5 pins mhl adapters.

Mine works fine on my rocketfish MHL.

If you have got an original Samsung MHL Adapter , It should can work with your LG Optimus G. But if you have got a fake Samsung MHL Adapter. I will say " No ".
If you believe me. You can get another new samsung MHL adapter from www.hdgenius.com , Everything can be solved.
Hello, everyone, i hard bricked my s2 and i really wanna know if you guys know any store or whatever that can do a jtag restore via riff box on my galaxy s2, i live in croatia so it would be nice if it's near me
btw. i can't enter download mode nor recovery, i bought usb jig on ebay and waiting for it but i really don't think it's gonna work
These guys are reputable, also search here, Google search & ask local mobile repair shops in your area.
Thank you a lot!
You're welcome. Good luck
I am from India & I have a Samsung Galaxy S2( model number SHW-M250K). Its Korean version. With the help of xda forum I converted SHW-M250K to GT-i9100 Successfully and I was very happy.
I started learning more and more about flashing ROMs(STOCK ROM & CUSTOM ROM) and I started flashing different ROMS for my Samsung galaxy S2.:good:
The problem came to my notice when I select network manually it says ‘’ unable to connect, try again later’’ and I noticed that my IMEI number also changed to 004************00/01 & I was like WTF .
I searched google & other forums including xda about the problem and I tried everything with was possible(flashing different ROMs/ EFS BACKUP,nv_data…..so on ) but the IMEI was not changing to the original.
From some forum I came to know that flashing EZFroyo may solve the problem, so I downloaded
(PIT-EZbase.pit,CSC- EZbase-CSC-XXJV1.tar.md5, PDA- ezbase-pda-xwjs3.tar.md5,MODEM- ezbase-phone-xxjve.tar.md5 & EZOdin ). I used Siyah Kernel (-v6.0b4) for rooting.
While flashing this EZBASE froyo using ODIN, I PULLED THE USB DATA CABLE by mistake. At that time the EZBASE.pit file was flashing and the moment USB DATA CABLE unplugged, I knew that I am in a big trouble now.
After this the phone is almost dead but while charging it gets heated near the camera, that means its not dead.
I am unable to go to DOWNLOAD MODE nor RECOVERY MODE.
I went to SAMSUNG REPAIR SERVICE and I told them the whole story. They checked it and told me that since the phone is Korean made, they don’t have the original Korean software here and the Indian version won’t work on this (Not working). Hence they returned the phone back to me.
Now the only option left to me is to go to Korea……?? Lol
Now I am confused about USB JIG and JTAG. Someone please tell which one I should use for my galaxy s2.
I have read somewhere here that usb jig is the only option which will boot the phone into DOWNLOAD MODE. I KNOW MY CHANCES ARE LESS BUT I STILL WANT TO TRY. I am going for usb jig.
PLEASE HELP. I just want to know if I am missing any trick to de-brick my SGS2.
If anyone have Samsung Galaxy S2 MOTHERBOARD and want to sell it then please let me know.
Jig more than likely won't work, but search on eBay for 'Samsung Galaxy S2 jig', they only cost a couple of bucks, you might as well try one in case you're the 1 in 10,000 where a jig works in these situations.
If you can't find a JTAG repairer near you, there are others in different parts of the world you can post the phone to & they may be able to repair it (assuming it is able to be JTAG'd). If it isn't JTAG'able, replace motherboard (source a 2nd hand one from a 'donor' phone/with a broken screen/etc).
If I had to take an educated guess tho, you need a motherboard replacement.

1)) Thanks for ur quick response. I really appreciate that. Before sending it to someone over courier or donating, I would love to spend some bucks on usb jig.
2)) The Samsung repair service told me that Motherboard replacement is not possible because of the DIFFERENCE BETWEEN KOREAN & INDIAN VERSION INTERIOR CIRCUIT.
3)) If I send my phone for JTAG' to someone who is outside India, then what is the guarantee that he will send me my phone back. Please don't mind.
very good I have an HTC HD2 uncle gave it to me. for the following problem:
not turn on and connect it via USB to the PC asks for a "Qualcomm" driver
I was told that the problem is solved only with JTAG
the question is there any other way to revive it? since it does not enter the bootloader.
thanks in advance for the help
take it this a t-mobile usa hd2 ?
Sounds very much like jtag or replacement mainboard needed .
replacement board from a device with damaged digitizer (eBay) could be cheaper than jtag.
