Galaxy S II and car Bluetooth Hands Free - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ive read a lot of problems with the latest Galaxy S II update and car Bluetooth Hands Free. A workfriend of mine asked me if there was any way to solve it and here I am.

I resently updated my S II to 4.1.3. Handsfree access worked fine, download of phonebook to car as well.
Unfortunately I had to make a factory reset to get rid of some other problems.
Now handsfree is not working any more (phonebook does not get downloaded to car anymore).
I found it might be a problem with the PBAP implementation of Samsung in 4.1.3.
Apparently an app called Buetooth Phonebook solves the problem...

No connection with my Car Built-in Bluetooth

Hello, I just bought a Xperia S and I did not reach in connection it to my Built-in bluetooth system (a parrot built-in kit in a Citroen). The pjone can see the system but I'm not able to make the system pairing.
I already had difficulties in the past with an X10 but it was linked to Android 1.6 and with my Samsung Galaxy S2 under Cyanogen7. I have no issue to conenct with Nokia E6, iPhone 4 or Android 2.3.X smartphones (Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Desire,...).
I think that it could come from the BT stack used by Sony or from their Android adaptation and I don't think I would be able to pair the system till an update could be released or perhaps with ICS.
Does somebody has the same difficulty or a solution ?
Best regards
Try to reset the bluetooth in your car.

I had the same issue with my bluetooth IO player.First time when I added it after that it would not connect. Turned bluetooth off and on and automatically connected. Might be worth restarting your phone. If the phone can add it then it should be able to connect to it.
Hello, I do,'t know where to reset my car BT as it is a built-in. One solution could be to remove the fuse....
It is not a question of connexion as I'm not able to pair the BT device and the Xperia.
I have no issue with all the other phones !!!
I have a 2009 Ford Mondeo and my Xperia S paired with the integrated bluetooth unit without any issues. Can browse phone book and call log without any issues and obviously make/receive calls.
Hi Guys,
Im having a real bluetooth issue with my SXS and Merc...I can connect and pair fine, however randomly the phone keeps disconnecting.. ive had this working fine with a Iphone4s and lumia 800 so i dont think its the MB side of things...can anyone shed some light on this?

Phonebook will not load to car handsfree

To the sages,
I am trying to pair with handsfree in 2006 Z4 M Coupe Nav. It will show paired on phone and I respond to request on phone to transfer phonebook to car unit. The car will show phonebook loading but it never loads. In this state calls cannot be initiated from car. I tried repairing but same issue. My prior phone, Samsung epic 4g touch paired and loaded phonebook without any problem. Anyone else with this problem or solution? My other car, 2012 Subaru STi pairs and loads phonebook without any problem.
Thanks,
Doc
Edit: I am rooted but stock ROM.
I have had no issues on my 2012 Passat with the phone book, wonder if your older car and the newer phone are using a different protocol for some reason that is causing it to misbehave.
My 2011 f-150 loaded the phone book fine.
My phone paired fine with my 2005 Audi A4 as well as my 2011 BMW 328I XDrive. My phone never prompts me to load a phonebook it just does it automatically. Maybe it's something in the settings that you're missing. However, my boy's father has a 2006 BMW X3 and he had to buy a separate piece from BMW in order for his Android phone to pair with his SUV. I think he has a Samsung Galaxy S II for T-Mobile. You might wanna call them and see if you too need this extra piece in order for the phone to work with your car.
In mini I heard it meses up so I didn't load the phone book. Although my og EVO could use the phone book.
Nice ride I used to have a e36/8 m coupe.
Sent from my EVO using XDA
2011 Hyundai Sonata is a hit or miss. Phone asks me if I should allow access to phone book and I did. Incoming phonecalls show up as numbers. Outgoing sometimes as names, and sometimes as numbers. Call log mostly names.
To all-thanks for the ideas/replies. I will see if BMW can help me out. I did check a link from Google that was to check for software update and returned no update is available.
Thanks again,
Doc

[Q] SGSII bluetooth handsfree VW contact list problem

Hi everybody, I have a problem with my car handfree bluetooth from VW RSN510 (2010). Since last few weeks I can't upload any contact list to car. All had been woring before with ICS and GB also. Do you know the reason? Is't problem of last update to 4.0.4 ICS or is the reason in syncing with Google account all contact few weeks ago?
Can anybody help me, please?
check to see if the bluetooth files in your vw, they may need to be updated to accept files from your phone.

it worked well few weeks ago in the same car, there is no possibility to update BT in car
Try removing the pairings from your phone and the car and re-pairing. I had that problem on my phone recently and re-pairing fixed it.

I did it already, but without changes. Have you delete some app memory during re-syncing or not?
The problem is, that the car HF is still on phone BT list even unpaired.

[Q] Galaxy [email protected] - most Bluetooth devices don't work, not even Samsungs EI-GP20;

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S3 LTE with StockROM and it's not rooted. I am not allowed to unlock it.
I know that something around BT has changed with the Upgrade to 4.2 or 4.3.
My BT game-pad IPEGA PG-9017 and my mini BT keyboard don't work anymore. I could pair booth but I don't get any reaction on the phone.
I still could connect the S3 with my cars radio via BT and it works. But before I also could use the radios controls to skip forth and back on the phone/spotify. Now I have to do it on the phone.
Now I bought Samsungs Gamepad EI-GP20. I could pair it but I can't get it to run. I don't know it EI-GP20 is a normal game-pad. But when I paired it with another smartphone and I immediately saw that the phone reacts to it.
To get my IPEGA to run I read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033780 . I installed BlueIMEZ and another APK which name I forgot. I didn't help.
I have the feeling that BT settings or IMEs are screwed up.
Is there anything I could do or check without having root? Does anyone have an idea what I might overlook?
note: Samsung screwed up the update for the S3

[Q] Bluetooth pairing with specific headphone causes infinite bootloop

I have Samsung Galaxy SII (Sprint) running Android 4.0.4. This is stock rom.
I recently got a Bluetooth headset (Taotronics TT-BH06). I paired it with the phone and it worked fine. However, the next time I turned on Bluetooth the phone went into an bootloop. The only way I could stop it was to to into Bluetooth settings and unpair the headset. I have tried pairing several times and get the same problem each time. Also, when I originally pair, the device has the manufacturer's name, but when I later go to unpair, it has the name "00:23:01:23:32:B1".
I sent a support query to the vendor, and they sent me a replacement. However, I get the same problem with the replacment! I have used other BT devices with my Galaxy S2 and had no problems. Furthermore, I have used this Taotronics headset with another Android device, without any problems. Has anyone heard of this kind of problem? Is there any way to fix this problem with the phone?
