Hi guys,
I own this Samsung galaxy S3 for a month now, though i always have had at least 8gb free on the internal SD, now the thing is i installed dualboot from the siyah kernel and it suddenly wqent down to 1gb free! I uninstalled the 2nd Rom and formatted that 2nd rom disk but i still have this problem . I now am with a bit over 900mb left on my internal SD! How do i fix this? Just backup apps with TB and then format to factory in recovery?
What i use:
SGS3
NxtGenromv9.1
Perseus kernel ( Soon to be Siyah again i think )
Thanks in advance
JV
just clean the sdcard. but you'll obviously lose data, because that's what cleaning up means.
you can bind some folders to the extSD using DirectoryBind

If you look at the sdcard using a file browser you should see a folder called 0. If you have deleted the second rom then delete this Also and you wok have your memory back... hopefully.

I recently installed the new 4.2.2 sotmax rom onto my GSIII and whenever i go into setting it says I only have 5.7Gb free storage (internal, no external) - I've done a wipe cache/data from recovery and freed up unused backup space - still no luck.
Any solutions?

if you came from a 4.1.2 ROM please read this thread as 4.2.2 sets different mount points and will keep your 4.1.2 ROM also.

Hello guys,
Problem is that the device showed that it is unable to download or update new apps from Play because it does not have enough storage.
1. Device storage - 280 MB free
2. USB storage - 10 GB free
3. SD card - 11 GB free.
I used APP2SD and moved all apps that I can, but it did not really help.
My question is:
How can I extend the "Device storage" space? Which has total of 1.97 GB only....
My device is:
GT-19100T
4.1.2
Kernel
3.0.31-1211311
I think it is stocked carrier rom and unrooted.
somebody knows?
R u rooted ?
U can delete odex files from data/app
U can clean all cache aps
Very good cleaning apk is sdmaid .
If u change setings in sdmaid it will clean odex for u

I am not rooted - But I can be if neccessary.
I made a full reset from device settings, then made wipe from the stock Recovery.
Before reset all device content, I tried cleaning apps cache and use the APP2SD... I didn't try the sdmaid.
So what the size of these Odex files?
And what about extending the partition from 1.97 GB to bigger than that? Is there any SAFE option to make that? I want to avoid getting this error again.
I saw some threads about people that also stucked with error about "not enough storage" even though they had EMPTY sd card, and lots of space in USB device memory...... But no good solution yet.
Thanks!!!
That wot i knw extending colud cause problems its no worthit try to clean ur media cache and the rest rubish use sdmaid to clean ur phone . am use it all the time and never had anny issue with not enough storage

Hey guys,
so the S2 of a friend of mine has an issue where it tells you that you don't have enough space to install new apps. The Phone is running CM10.2 Stable and I already tried a factory reset. The thing is that she has almost 10GBs free in the internal storage and about 1GB on her (2GB)SD-Card, in the settings under "storage" it says that both were full, even though they clearly have enough free space.
Can you tell me how I can resolve this issue?
Thanks for your time and help in advance.

There is also an internal storage for apps, it's normally 2GB (the first one in settings - storage). Have you tried moving apps to the sdcard?
Reformating the storages? (backup!)
Or use a PIT file to increase the 2GB internal storage for apps.
Okay I didn't see that, apparently there really are 2 partitions labled "internal storage" the one has 12GB and the other one 2GB as you said, App2SD can only move some Apps, but somehow there's something taking up over 1GB of Storage that isn't labled anywhere, what could that be?
Try clearing your logs to free up space

1GB of the 2GB internal storage?
Make a screenshot of your storagespace and post it here.
Here's the screenshot:
It's showing that only about 420MB are used, that means that about 1.4GB are not showing up there and they are used by something else

Strange.
/data is the location. Look in /data/log maybe that's full with logs or something.
Nope, nothing. I tried an app that deletes thumbnails, cache, temporary files and stuff but that just freed a couple of megabytes :/ What else could it be?

Did your friend experienced this problem after he/she flashed this rom or recently flashed cm 10.2?
If so, did your friend got through all the necessary steps?

I flashed it for her, I installed the latest CWM, I wiped /data and /cache and the dalvik cache and then I flashed the latest CM10.2 and gapps at the time. I did that because it was showing this error previously but reflashing CM didn't fix it and that's why I ask here.

Try these steps, backup because everything will be lost.
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Format /system
Format /data
Flash rom
Flash gapps

I tried that today but it's still showing me the error.
Could I somehow repartition everything so that I merge the 2GB and the 12GB-Partition? And if so, how do I do it?

Okay I finally found the issue, /data/logs was just full, I deleted the folder and now she has 1.7GB free space, I don't understand why all these logs were there..

You said there where no logs. Anyway good to have it solved. Please add [SOLVED] to the thread title.

Sometimes logs are good but the space if you forgot to turn the log command off is just a pain in the ass. I had once a 6gb log file

I've had issues with this in the past.
One solution that works: if you have 'lucky patcher' installed, open it, (you'll see a pop-up detailing a cache or something clean), now close the app.
All should be good now.
2nd solution, use 'SD Maid', loads of options and works for me.
Good luck.

One would never suggest using cracked apps, though I merely offer a helpful option if one has done.

I got same phone and same ROM and you can't choose default installation place, because S3 has internal storage for apps.
Maybe some notes from my experience will helps to you:
1. Not enough space error - this error causing not only when you have few storage space, this error may cause when not enough space in cache, where play store downloading updates/new apps before install. So in such situation any cleaner will helps to you, i'm using SD Maid Pro, but free Clean Master on any other cleaner will be useful
2. If you will install lot of heavy apps (Like i do) - you will always suffer from a lack of free space, so you need something to move heavy data from phone storage to SD-card - my choice was Folder Mount, that moved android\data and android\obb to sd-card but you can link absolutely any folders in internal card to SD.
3. Abut updates it is not clearely, can you provide more info about your phone, what update you trying to install and some logs/screenshots/description about error in installation?
Same problemo
i had the same problem once with stock 4.3 but now am in a custom ROM no problemo now
