The kernel source was released when their was 4.1.2 for micromax was about 850mb ...i had downloaded that and tried to compile it ...wasnt successful ...now i see u guys brought some attention regarding wiko kernel ...i downloaded the latest one they have updated the sources and seems to be complete ...Thanks to @cmahendra ...for bringing it to my notice
I was also tester of thunderzap kernel of varun.chitre and bhindass also tried to compile a kernel for chd .but wasnt successful sibce it was the old 850mb kernel ...it wasnt complete and some mis configs in kernel configs the codename of chd was s9201b instead it had tinnojb_89

Yes saw that, He is talking about lots of compile errors. Now everyone gets that, especially when some expert work on Linux. Its not the thing that everyone can do, example porting.

I kept on checking kernel source information regularly and got it this week. This is for 4.1.2 for WCF but they have released 4.2.2 for WIKO DARKMOON (Chipset INTEL Z87) . I hope they will released 4.2.x for WCF too.

If a company itself released it publicly then it should be perfect only. It depends on the what method and resources devs may be using for modifying and re-compiling. Keep trying you may succeed. Best of Luck from us.

Yes. I am able to build without any error, I didn't flash it to my mobile. Because it's build for xperia C.. Now I need to edit drivers for our device.. I am searching in Google past two days.. No luck

i spoke to Kashif Minhaj and he said he will put up an active build tomorrow ...
BLU Products has posted on their Facebook page that they are going to release Android 4.4 Kitkat on 1st May 2014. BLU Products is just like Micromax. They are having most of their devices running on Mediatek Processors and many of them are clones of Micromax Devices. So if they are releasing Kitkat in May, Micromax will also release it by that time or if they get a little late then we can port the Kitkat ROMs which BLU will release to our device. So hope for the best !! Cheers..............................

Update 5th March 2014- Acer has announced Acer Liquid E3 which runs on MTK6589 same as our CHD... Currently it will run Android 4.2.2 out of the box.... But Acer has promised Android 4.4 Kitkat update in Q2 2014 !! So guys when Kitkat releases for it, we can port it to our device... Then it will also get a sweet taste of Kitkat !!
Update 28th June 2014 - Guys BLU has announced that it will start rolling out Kitkat updates to various devices starting today.. The list of devices which will get the update contains many MTK6589 devices like Life Play and Studio 5.5 !! So guys MMX shouldn't be far of from releasing the updates.. They have said they would rolling out updates in July... Our device would surely be a part of it.. Guys, one more good news Acer has announced a new phone Acer Liquied E3 which also runs on MTK6589 same as our beloved CHD. Currently it will run Android 4.2.2 out of the box but Acer has promised to provide 4.4 Kitkat update in Q2 2014 !! So we can easily port it our device....
Most probably micromax will release a 4.4 Stock... But if 1% does not, there are many other OEMs who have promised KItkat for Mediatek devices..... So our devs can surely port any of the Kitkat ROMs which will be out in Q2 2014....... So wait patiently !!

Initially released Knight had jelly bean 4.2.2. Newer canvas Knight has KitKat 4.4.2. The update is not available for older devices till now. So here is the official Kitkat ROM for Canvas Knight A350.

While I have used the Jelly bean and Kitkat both. I have found that Kitkat is way too slow for this phone. Looks like they need more improvement for the phone.

Me too found kitkat a bit buggy and unstable but on switching from dalvik to art, all was fine. So I am currently using KitKat with art. This is better than jelly bean.
And have u rooted knight with KitKat. I had rooted jelly bean but could not root KitKat, so if u have rooted KitKat please share the method

Search google regarding that. Simply understand that dalvik is more stable but art is more faster and battery consuming. To enable go to developer options in settings.

See carefully there and extract contents of both in one folder so that the folder has files named recovery, boot, ebr, scatter, system, secro, etc.

Does this official upgrade solve the heating issue to some extent?
I heard this phone has a major heating issue.. Which doesnt affect the performance that much, but drains battery.. But that was with JB.. Does the KK upgrade fix this?

Did try but all these patches don't apply since code has changed.
CM 12 , our only hope i think :/
many devs are working for cm 12 development but some problem are occurring with non official device for eg its not loading but it gets stuck with bootloop .so it may take 1-2 months rom come out
Jellybean and kitkat has less difference but lollipop will be big change in UI. So porting will be fantastic but at the same times it will be difficult too.

i think the work on lollipop should start from scratch like we had started cm11.... because the device tree and all the file formats for lollipop installation are different on a large scale... so hope something works out
Currently no one is working on cm12 due to booting problem .I think we will start working on it after the first nightly only

Work is already started man! @Santosh M has already tried to compile.... its successul but rom does not boot... we need to have a compitable kernel.... DEVS are working on it...... Will have it soon

i got this reply from the devs who were working on cm 12 when they said they are currently working on omni rom instead of cm 12
its the recovery they used:- Philz (CWM 9.0.4.8)
Cm12 generates the ROM in a .dat format.
Anyways I'll get back to it soon. For now omnirom is fine and we are able to logcat too.
ROM does not boot due to incompatible libraries.
Many mtk libraries have code that has been depreciated in Lollipop.

Themed ROMs don't qualify...
Old Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 already got customised ROM of Lollipop and it is awesome. Micromax A116 yet to get a stable Kitkat version. So far there is only one Kitkat customised (Discovery) ROM for Micromax A116 with Camera blue patch problem and if flashed solution to blue patch camera, front camera option missing. So there is no complete Kitkat ROM so far. Awaiting Lollipop for Micromax A116 soon.

I can agree on that. There is recently a lollipop for MTK6582 (from Doogee), so it should not be that hard to port it for MTK6592(T).
I think that Doogee will release soon lollipop ROM for DG550, which is MTK6592 powered phone.

Its a problem from mediatek (manufacturer o mt6592 chip)...
Until they provide rom... Lollipop will not be "officially" available for mt6592...
That's why i am hoping for some genius dev from XDA to do the magic and build a custom lollipop rom....
Any devs listening?????

They can listen all they want but without the kernel source for the device it won't do any good. Even if someone got something booting it will be plagued with issues.

Not really. There were huge changes to the default runtime for the entire os and some of the files that work with the kernel need to be updated as well. 5.0 was a major code change all around.

Don't guess. 6582 and 6592 is almost the same chip. It differs by number of cores. Devs made Cyanogenmod 10 for MTK, they will make CM12 too, just give them time

So if the MT6592 is equal to the MT6582, how can you carry a rom Mt6582 for Mt6592? Any tutorial teaching this kind of port?
The problem also is, that in the basic porting you use some files from your stock ROM. And these files are not compatible between KitKat and Lollipop. You cen try some more sofisticated port procedure, the risk of hard bricking should be small.
