I just got my Z2 and my led light very weak with any torch app. For flash photo much stronger but to compare any other phoe is still half the strenght. I compared to moto g, s3, s4, Nexus4-5.
Is this my phone fault or this is the led that Sony had put in this top phone?
Unfortunately I think it's normal. I have the same thing.
Yup I confirm it's dim. It might be coz of the small led size.
how they can miss a such a feature. I use my phone as a torch all the time. this Z2 led is a joke! Seriously my 5 years old dell streak had better led.
but the photo flash definitely stronger then any torch app so the hardware capable , maybe somebody can write an app to adjust the strength

As per title, it seems the Flashlight app's illumination intensity is slightly darker than that of the camcorder. Is anybody else experiencing this?
Because of that, I am using LED Light app. Any other I tried was weak.
Probably try to avoid burning the flashlight
Hi,
I installed tesla flashlight and it was on a weak led light but still i didn't notice anything weird.
Then rooted the phone with super one click and went to film something and the led was weak as in tesla flashlight.
Now I wonder what did it. I already had to trade this defy phone because the first one came with 3 dead pixels. Now I have to do it again for a bad led light?
Is it a defect in production or what? I have barelly used this led, even with photos dare say any flashlighting was only for testing.
I have had a nokia xm5800 for like 2 years+ and the led still works fine.
Did anyone else have this or manage to solve it? I am in Brazil, so it it a LA version of the phone...
Cheers,
Andrew
So I pre-ordered last night at my local at&t store. I am excited as before I went to my at&t store I passed by best buy to hold the dummy model they have. Its big but I was still able to thumb the other side of the device with one hand. I also played with the samsung player which has a 5" screen and runs android but I guess thats just suppose to be an mp3 player, either way it looked similar to the note and it looked great. I can imagine how good the note's display will look.
The only thing right now that is bugging me a little is getting by with no led notification. Can you guys suggest how to get over that little led light that will no longer be on the note? Or how you guys with devices with no led lights are coping?
there is a app that you can get and its free called no led.. My wife had the same issue as she was used to a led light and when she got her samsung she missed it.. works well
But that requires your screen to turn on so basically killing the battery right? I know some samsung devices have that bln mod but not sure how well that works and if its even compatible with the lte note. Any led camera flash apps maybe?
no it puts a small icon that lights up on your screen and bounces around. the rest of your screen is dark.
Camera flash? For notifications? Seems to me that would kill that battery way faster than 64 pixels floating around the screen . . .

What does it really mean to "turn on the screen" for the Samsung AMOLED displays? LCD-based displays need a backlight, even when displaying a single pixel. But turning on just a few LED pixels on a Samsung AMOLED display is probably a very low power operation, since only active pixels should need to be powered, and since there is no backlight.
I haven't had an LED notification for years. And I am thankful that I don't. I remember on BB when I had the LED notification, I was constantly looking at my phone to see if the light was beeping. Without it, I'm so much less obsessed with seeing if I have that stupid blinking light.
@bkeaver - I thought it required the screen to be on
@LiquidArrogance - I've seen the iphone do it like that with a case
@vaxheadroom - Then I definitely am not sure the difference between lcd and AMOLED displays
@kiltedthrower - I'm still obsessed no thanks to the blackberry days
here is a link to the app.... should give you a idea of how it works and what it looks like

Once a kernel is developed that supports bln which I imagine will be fairly quickly, it will be available. And it works very well, I use it on my captivate all you have to do is install the bln supporting kernel, download the app, set up what apps turn on the leds and you're done.

Is it a strain on battery at all? Or does noled work better in regards to battery life?
The back of my 920 was making some squeaky sounds so I exchanged for a new one. Everything's great except the screen seems to light up much slower when I pressed the power/unlock button. It takes about 2 seconds after pressing the key until the screen lights up. I don't have another 920 for comparison, but my 720 lights up almost immediately after unlocking.
Could someone with a 920 in hand check how long it takes for the screen to light up after unlocking? Should I have this one exchanged as well? Thanks!

Try switching from auto brightness to full brightness and see if it still does it. Sounds like there may be dust or something in front of the sensor so it takes longer for the phone to realize the light level.
My 920 doesn't have any delay when you unlock it

That must be it! When I set the brightness level to manual, it lights up immediately, and the delay is back when I set the brightness to automatic.
Is it something I can clean myself or should I just exchange for a new one? (just got it yesterday).
Mine is on auto bright and it lights right up

It is probably the infamous dust in the front camera issue earlier models had. If you are comfortable at taking it apart you can clean it yourself. Otherwise I would get it exchanged.:good:
I dunno if it's caused by dust near the proximity/AL sensors. I used some compressed air and made no difference. Also I remember reading somewhere Nokia already fixed the issue on newer 920s.
Ended up getting a replacement. Thanks for everyone who helped!
I got mine about a week ago. It takes a little under a second to light up after pressing the button. This is on autobrightness.(will try manual later when I have time) Does that classify as "instant" ?
On manual its slightly faster, enough to notice the difference, but still not 100% instant. but my guess is I can classify it as instant anyway.
Dear community,
i am a happy owner of a sony xperia xa ultra. It is known for a good camera. The smartphone has double flashlight.
One of them is front and one back. When i go to camera, i can only activate one led light. When i activate front camera, i can only use front light. So this means, i cannot turn both lights on at the same time. But i think this would be useful. Also, ther is no app which allows activate other light than back light. Is there a method to use double flashlight. Especially, is there also a method activating both lights when filmin or fotographine with either front or
back camera. Please help me.
My smartphone is very new and it is not rooted. Android version is 6.0
Thanks in Advance for every help
Has anyone noticed that a circular light sometimes appears around the front camera sensor.
It seems to happen me when my face unlock fails to work.
There is no info on this light.
If it is there,
Are there any settings for it ?
It would be good as a notification light
My friend, that is a very good point. I just noticed it myself after your post, never noticed that before. I would be great if it could be used as a notification light.
I haven't tried it but this seems to be a solution which works on another Realme device:
That is to show something is using your camera, it's a new privacy safety feature.
For example if some shady app is recording you that's a way of telling you. Same for the rear camera, it shows a green dot on right side.

I think this light can be used even for notifications like the Redmi K20 Pro phone which has a light on the pop-up camera and I used this phone for a long time. This light looks cool if it is in the Realme GT 2 Pro!
I'm in India and it is releasing on 14th April so I'm still waiting for this phone.
it's just an indicator that tells you the phone is detecting face.
I have a Samsung S21 from my work and that does exact the same thing with the selfie camera. I think it's an android 12 thing.
