I just bought my Xperia Z Ultra, and it seems to have worse reception than my HTC One even on the same spot. The HTC One is set to use WCDMA and GSM which is the same as my Xperia Z Ultra right now.
So in theory it shouldn't have any signal differences. Does anyone know how to fix this?
What firmware baseband are you using and do you use bumper?

I'm using the C6802 and no I'm not using a bumper. I have a feeling my device is defective as the touch screen seems to randomly have ghost inputs.
Really disappointed in what I have, hoping that I just have bad luck.

I'm using the Asus AC router and I get excellent throughput on wifi with my One. The range is much better as well.

How good is it? I'm considering upgrading everything to AC, but I want to make sure it'll work with b/g/n devices too (my wife's laptop is a little old, lol)

Asus RT-AC66U is the best router I have ever owned. It handles everything I've thrown at it. B and G will use the 2.4GHz band as will some N devices. Anything that uses 5GHz I default to that frequency. I did a speed test with my HTC One on the WiFi and got 89 Mbps down and 16 Mbps up. I was fairly close to the router. It can reach all the way to the back of my house with only a bar or two signal loss. Newegg has been throwing these routers on sale every now and then, might keep an eye out.
Sweet, sounds pretty awesome...looks like I have some upgrading to do when my school money gets in! Lol

A popping noise? Can you provide some more details? I don't think I've heard of this problem before...

Anyone know what's new?
Bug fixes, but we don't know which bugs. Sony hasn't released any change log.
Lots of things; settings menu looks different, keyboard different, new themes, quicker response from power button when waking device, clock app redone, and that's all I've seen so far.

Yup, but that wasn't changed in in this version. 532 is a bug fixer.

Wrong. All the above has changed on my phone since the update this morning. Lots of cosmetic changes.

Yes, that's because you were on an earlier firmware, like 475, or something ancient! I updated from 510 to 532 yesterday and there are NO visual changes.

If you talk about the update over the .532, "system file update" I really don't see any change and nobody reported anything. It feel really weird not to have any change log from Sony.

Updating to it today it caused more bugs, phone kept randomly rebooting, had to revert to old firmware to get it back to normal. Chinese forums report the same.
I haven't really noticed any bugs in 532, but the screen is a little too sensitive now, so i should've stayed on 510. Btw, ParanoidAndroid is available for us now in the Dev section. It hasn't been uploaded yet, but it's finally here!

Cheers for the heads up! Pa! Woop woop!
On the update, I haven't noticed any bugs at all. Noticed no difference at all in fact but then it was a tiny little update in UK.

The update is probably a screen calibration update that corrected some handset with yellow tint.

Here is the FTF for the US C6806 Xperia Z Ultra http://d-h.st/W0d

There should/might be a 7.7 MB OTA update after this is installed.

I flashed it on the c6833. It boots fine but no at&t LTE. So no I did not enable the missing bands.

You can actually check the bands available by dial *#service#*...
So I guess the switching baseband thing doesn't work for lte

Yea the bands on the service menu didn't change either. There was no 700Mhz band (b17).
Update on the c6806 532 ftf file
Spectre 51, I was wondering if I could have the ftf for the c6806 532 firmware
I just picked up the S4 a few weeks back to replace my S3. First thing I noticed was that my service isn't as good. I drop calls a lot and my calls almost always sound like I have poor signal. My s3 wasn't bad. I had no issues talking at home on the s3 but I can not make a call from my house with the s4. This thing has gotten me to hate to have to call anyone.
Is there anything I can do to get better signal?

Which baseband are you currently on? A newer version may help.

Redid firmware with kies and I just set it back up. Still dropped my call here at my house. My s3 never did. Oh well it was worth a shot
Well I ordered a Samsung S5 and that has taken care of my signal issues. I can now make calls from my house with no issues. Nice to have a working phone again

I ordered the wi-fi only version off of amazon and they accidentally sent me the LTE version. Is there any drawback to having the LTE version or did I just catch a break? I suppose at some point I might put a SIM in there. That leads me to my second question - any way to get rid of the "no SIM card" notification as I don't plan on using one?

Judging from Amazon prices yes it's about $80 more.
Did the you get it for the lte price? If yes, decide whether you need lte, if no, keep it
