[Q] Migration from 4.3 to 4.4.2 - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Hello!
For a long time I was not ready to migrate to 4.4.2 rom.
I know for sure my question not the first about this topic. So, please, forgive me and help me to find a link or help where I can migrate to KitiKat step-by-step? Also, I need it to do it with the Root and TWRP backup?
I'm really sorry, again and would be really appreciated for your help.
God bless you!
Also, what app is better to use for backup and restore to 4.4.2? Please, help me?
Thank you very much!

First of all it's nice to see you advancing into the new firmware. I was on the same boat as you are now and wasn't ready to move on. Hopefully I can help you in a way where it should be stress free. I do want to make you aware that once you go to 4.4.2 you can not go back to 4.3.
Before you begin make sure you have everything you want saved( music, photos, contacts, Etc) and save them to your sd card. *MY TIPS* It says to do a complete phone wipe, format blah blah blah. Just do a normal wipe as if you were flashing another rom. Once you wipe just go back to the main menu on twrp or cwm. Restart and restart to recovery. Make sure you do this once everything is downloaded and you are ready to go. The link provided is very easy to follow and you should have no issues. Have fun and hope this helps you out a bit. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Go to this link and download the files you will need and follow his instructions.

Can't understand a step in a tutorial, I already searched Q&A (Solved)

Hello Xda guys, I've following you since a lot ago and I must say thanks for all your ROMs and tutorials, I think this is one of the best forums I've ever read about android development.
I just have a silly question I can't understand just because it's going to be the first time I'll do it...
I already rooted my samsung galaxy SII I9100, I have installed the JB 4.1.1 Revolt 2.3 version and it runs very good.
Now they just updated that ROM and I've never upgraded from the same ROM, and I read the tutorial and it says:
If upgrading from Older version of this ROM :
1-Create a Nandroid
2-Flash ROM
3-Reboot
So, I really can't understand what's "Nandroid" and I already searched in the forum, I still couldn't get any help... I wish I have a little help about this...
I don't know what they mean with creating a nandroid...
I already searched in Q&A and the search bar...
Thanks you all! :cyclops:
Nandroid - nand
More info about NAND: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_memory
Nandroid backup means full copy of your current ROM, your data, kernel and cache.

In addition to what przemcio510 said, nandroid is basically a 'snapshot' of the phone as it is currently, stored as a backup. Incase your flashing goes wrong, you will need this to get back to your previous known working configuration.
If you have CWM..steps are as follows:
- Reboot to recovery
-Select the backup and restore option
-Select backup to external SD card OR backup to internal SD card. (or both )
This will save a backup.. a "nandroid" backup.. saved as the current date and time.
Hope this helps :good:

Thanks you a lot both of you, mostly HAXTREME, because you explained it a little bit more, so yeah, the step basically said:
Backup, flash, Restart (enjoy), right? hahah, I feel a little bit dumb, but now I'll do it inmediately.

[Q] Newly rooted. What to do?

Samsung galaxy note i717. I rooted my phone yesterday as I also updated from 4.0.4 to 4.1.2. I have learned a few things about roms, kernels, backing up, restoring, etc.
I have SUPER SU, titanium backup, and ROM manager.
I understand that all rooted phones must have a SU to grant apps access to the software.
As for titanium backup, I have deleted bloatware and backed up and verified all of my information. I also bought the pro version of titanium backup. But for the Rom manager, I'm not too sure how to use that yet. I guess Titanium is for backing up and restoring, and ROM manager is for downloading the new rom?
To get a new rom (someone please recommend one to me? Specifically for good battery life and a customizable UI)
So you have to download it from the computer, then move to your SD card. Afterwards, the computer part is done right? How do you get the phone in the mode to put in the new rom? And do you have to wipe the stock rom first?
Someone please please recommend me a rom and tell me step by step how to do it without bricking my phone... And to restore everything back.
Thank you thank you
I can't say which ROM to use because there is no need for another "best rom" thread.
Just pick one that you think would work well for you. Most CM ROMs have pretty good theming capabilities but being dead honest, any ROM located on XDA would do the trick so research and try a few.
However, you can download the ROM from the thread in the development section and move it with a file explorer to the root of the sd card. Finally there, follow the steps outlined in the thread specific to flashing that particular ROM. They are fairly straight forward.
Make certain the first thing you do is make a backup! Backup backup backup! That way you have options if things go wonky.
If the steps do not make sense on how to flash a ROM, come back here and feel free to ask. Same for restoring a backup. However I will say I have little experience restoring to full stock via Odin, so someone else may need to chime in.
Good luck and happy flashing

[Q] Need help with CyanogenMod installation and memory issue

(I'm new here and not sure if this thread is in the right place, if not, please feel free to move it.)
Hey, everyone. I rooted my phone and downloaded Titanium Backup Pro (Also backed up data to SD, I believe), Rom Manager Pro, GooManager, Root Explorer Pro and Triangle away. My memory went from using 1.5gigs to now using 6gigs. What gives? I checked the apps and they don't take up that much. Could it be that the Titanium backup Pro backedup files on my device instead? If so, how can I clear that up?
Also, I'm currently using stock rom, I believe and my Juice Defender log said to get Cyanogen Mod, so I looked it up for a few hours. Downloaded what I think I need and followed a YouTube video that didn't help me at all. Rom manager premium apparently set my Recovery Setup to Clock Work Mod 6.0.4.4 but I just switched it to TWRP. All I want to do is set up the latest CyanogenMod stable version on my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 (4.2.2 Jelly Bean). (It's apparently running AOSP, not sure what that is.) The model number is SPH-L720, I believe, if that helps. I just want to set this up without messing my phone up and then remove bloatware and have my phone running great with excellent battery. I believe I backedup my files during one of the recovery setups, but I'm not too sure.
Can anyone kindly help me with a step by step on how I can achieve this? In a simple way, please. I would greatly appreciate it as I am new to this. If this helps any, I rooted my phone through Odin. I don't want to format my phone as I like the apps I have and I like the Nova theme I have.

Root/unroot Sony Xperia GO

Because I am new I post here. I want to ask you.
I have Sony Xperia GO so I want to root my phone before it I want to ask you about it.
I read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327472
Anyone tell me how can I unroot latter if I want to do it?
Thank you
Unrooting the phone is not necessary. Still you can remove root access from your phone.
first simple way is to flash Stock ROM using flashtool, it will clean install your ROM like PC companion. Phone will be normal again.
second, you can temporarily remove root access from the SuperSU app (that manages root access for you). go to settings, you will find an option there.
for more information read this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/issues/getting-startedrooting-bootloader-t2100529
you are new here, so you should know, no need to reply with "thanks" if any one helps you, there is a thanks button. use it.
and welcome to xda.

is need sd memory card for routing?only routing
and how can I backup my rom (oficial android rom)?
SD card is not affected in rooting.
And you cannot take backup of your complete rom without rootin your phone.
You can only backup apps without rooting.
Everything is given in the guide...
If you don't understand something, ask us.
