Hello everyone,
Last month I rooted my LG G2, and installed cyanogenmod. Everything was going smoothly but for some reason I decided to restore my phone from a backup I made before installing cyan and then just continued using it like that. Two nights ago an android software update took place automatically overnight and when I woke up it was just stuck in the TWRP menu. I tried restoring from previous backups, wiping it and re installing the cyanogenmod that was still on the virtual SD card to no avail, and finally completely formatting the phone to see if I could get it to show up on the computer because it makes the connection noise but it doesn't show up as a device or hard drive.
So now when it boots up it shows the LG logo and then brings me back to TWRP but now I have no restore points on the phone. So is there anyway to get my computer to recognize it so I can add files and hopefully get a working backup on the phone? Or is there a way I can even just flash the stock firmware on it again? Or am I out of luck?

so you formatted your sdcard too. (jokes aside, thats genius). Mind my sarcastic fun-poking, you will have to put your phone into emergency mode and use a tool to flash the stock rom. Usually you can navigate to the manufacturers support page and they will have an updater tool that can flash one of the updates. if not, then scour the forums for an unbrick guide that will flash the stock rom from emergency mode.

Hey guys, first post only because of the level of stress I been goino through trying to figure this out.
So I Had Rooted My phone succesfully At One Point I Wanted To Flash My Rom and It Failed using twrp. I had backed everything up using twrp and when it came time to trying to restore, it failed as well. Long story short I've been searching for a way to fix this as my phone is stuck in factory mode. Weird thing is that my imei number is still correlates correctly with the sticker on the phone but there are no files/ folders in the efs folder and I feel I've exhausted all of my options. I've tried factory wipes, nandroid restore via twrp which failed. Reinstalling factory Rom via kies and Odin to no avail with this issue.
Am I missing something? Where do I go from here? I know there's something that was backed up onto my sd card as the folder upwards of 1gb. when backed up in twrp I made sure to check everybox. Should i have performed a wipe prior to backup? Any help is much appreciatedas this phone is about a week old and its starting to get a bit frustrating...
i only have one real connectivity issue and it only happens on wi-fi. if i turn it on, it will connect than within 5-10 sec the rom will reset to boot screen and it will say "Factory Mode On! wi-fi is now turning off" other than this, i have full network access.
as of right now i'm stock worst comes to worst, may have to send the phone in, if warranty is void, i have a $175 deductible... trying to avoid this on a brand new phone.
bump anyone
I bought a Lg f6 Metro PCS version a few weeks ago. I rooted it with Kingo Root, flashed the freedom kernel on it, created an adb with my laptop, Titanium backup, ROM installer, ROM Light, SuperSu, etc. Created a permanent Clockwork recovery and had also flashed the Experion custom rom on it. Up until then the phone was running great no problems. Tuesday night I tried to upgrade to a different version of Android the phone has 4.1.2 on it. I downloaded 5 zip files from the internet. Transfered them to the external sdcard flashed the first one it was fine. Then I flashed a radio zip and the phone went into reboot mode. The phone became soft bricked stayed at the LG icon nothing else. I then flashed the Experion custom rom again and the phone rebooted and came out of soft brick mode. Booted the rom back into normal mode. Here is the issue I lost stock rom on the phone, baseline is unknown now, and the phone's identity imei and everything else that comes up on the screen in the settings menu is blank. Other things were lost like keyboard and the dialer pad, phone is working but I think it might be bugged some way. Is there a way the original Android rom can be put back on the phone and all the above mentioned things be restored. I have already bought a new phone. I want to see if I can fix it before I decide to just scrap it. Are there any shops or professional services that specialize in Android software recovery/programing.
P.s I have tried flashing every stock rom, kdz, and the such on my own no such luck the little Android icon on custom recovery just goes into error state.
Thanks!
Hey guys, I've got a T-mobile v10 (H90120j) on 6.0 and on the most recent update as of 8/22. I tried to root via the LG UP method, but something went pretty wrong pretty quickly(I'm sure I mis-interpereted a step or made some similar rookie mistake). I'm in a boot loop of the "Your device software cannot be checked for corruption" no matter what I try to do. Luckily TWRP installed, but when I tried to reboot to finish the LG UP method it told me there's no system. When I connect it to my computer it shows as v10, but only the TWRP folder is visible on it. I was trying to find just a stock rom zip, but the ones I can seem to find are the ones that use LG UP using tot files, but I can't get the phone to go into download mode. Then I found stuff for the h90120e, which evidently hard bricks the phone. Does anyone on here know anything about this? Its not fully bricked but since it wouldn't mount the system properly, I wiped everything and repaired the system files on TWRP so I'm on a totally clean slate now. ANY help is greatly appreciated
**UPDATE** Tried installing Bliss rom, and had no errors, same with gapps. I'm still stuck in this boot loop though; I cant get past the "your device software cannot be be checked for corruption" screen

Was this thread ever resolved for you k.wise, having the exact same issue just about with my v10.
The problem at least for me is the system partition of memory isnt even mounting and in turn is throwing error 7 and not allowing anything to be installed or read on it.
[SOLVED] My LG v10 is in a bit of hiccup because of this. I have tried multitude of things with still no solution.
I have attempted to go into the mount of menu of TWRP and mount the system, after mounting I have tried everything from reinstalling a rom, wiping it, resizing, restarting to system, a few terminal commands, and they all lead to same exact scenario. The phone restarting, flashing the lg logo for half second than going to "this device software cant be checked for corruption" yellow triangle screen till TWRP comes up.
I have also tried 3 different versions of TWRP, installing kdz files, using an lg bridge/up update, and also some prayer. The only thing that has ever gotten me close to getting this baby back into shape was the lg bridge software update in download mode. Brought it to full startup from system but than ended on a white screen asking for a password 30/30 attempts to get into the phone, and I don't have encryption and even if i did it would be gone after the numerous factory resets and data wipes.
Are there anymore possibilities for me to try? The problem seems to be the system partition not mounting in most cases but I seem to have a reached a dead end.
Edit 1 w/Solution:
What ended up solving the problem (bad firmware, anti-rollback stopped me from going to a good one) was the following post by tungkick (THANKS TUNGKICK), once I got the microsd card ready and in the v10 I than put the phone in download mode (volume up + battery + usb to comp).
From there I used the lg bridge tool to detect the phone and than update back to stock. The key thing is i didn't chose the regular update option I chose the option on the bottom right (of my lg bridge application) that said update without error recovery I believe (sorry updating this away from home so I can't remember exactly). Once the update was done there was no screen with asking for a password, no bootloop, and so far no problems with the stock software.
Hopefully this is helpful one day to someone with a bricked v10 and almost gave up hope like me.
That happened to me when I tried rooting, I flashed the latest official kdz (select update) to get the official stock rom again

Tried that and flashing tot files, feel like I cant do much unless I can install the /system partition on start up or get through the anti rollback settings.
As of now I can use twrp fine and get in download mode. But that seems to be it
Dunno what to say, do you have the latest version of lgup?

In an attempt to switch custom ROMs I wiped my previous ROM and went to install my new ROM through a zip file in TWRP and it said the installation failed twice. When I restarted my phone it will not pass the LG logo screen (looks like a bootloop but I don't think that is it) as well as the original combination of buttons I used to start TWRP is not working either. I have been trying to manually install a ROM through a flash tool on PC but my PC isn't detecting the phone as a removable device even though an SD is inserted as well. Completely lost and bought a really bare bones phone over a month ago but I want my better and higher quality phone back and it's sooo frustrating. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I need a lot more info. Phone model? I know log but what kind. Android os? The ROM in question? It's highly unlikely you erased a recovery by flashing a ROM from recovery. The only time I've ever had an issue like yours was when I tried to downgrade my bootloader on an old s3 years ago. And that was a nightmare to fix. If lg is like Samsung you can take a SD card the same size as your devices internal and build a replica of your internal on the SD, and like a PC failing to boot from the HDD it might default to the SD to boot. Samsung does.
LG D851. LG G3 T-Mobile Variant.
I was using CyanogenMod before and I was trying to flash Lineage OS.
What would be the steps to build it on the SD? If you'd be willing to tell me or just link me to something.
If you need any more info on anything just let me know. Thanks!
