hey guys, as mentioned in the title I am a complete beginner with rooting so I had to follow the rather old guides here on xda. To keep the story short: After the initial root I got the e:signature vertification failed error, so after endless googling and flashing different recoveries I am now in a difficult spot and getting quite frustrated. My device is stuck in a bootloop, I only see 'Galaxy Tab 10.1' and after that the screen goes black.
I have tried holding the power and volume buttons to enter recovery mode, except there are 2 problems to that: 1. My model of the device (vzw 4g lte SCH-I905) is almost non existent in the world of tablet rooting so there are no stock roms and 2. When I select the recovery mode option on my tablet the screen just goes black and nothing happens.
Anybody have any thoughts on how to fix my tablet? any help is appreciated and I can provide any other details you need to the best of my ability thanks guys!
Try flashing this recovery in Odin. http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=3158

@eushaun99 Thank you, it is late so I will try this tomorrow.
Hi @eushaun99, I flashed that recovery via odin and it worked, thanks a million, appreciate your help! However, my device is still in a bootloop, even after a factory reset. I would like to fix that so I can connect the device to my computer and install the ROM thru recovery mode or could I do that thru odin as well? Thanks again!

Well, since the flashing of recovery worked, then just boot into recovery, make a full wipe of system, data, cache and dalvik cache and flash the ROM of your choice. If you want to flash stock ICS then boot into download mode and flash via Odin, but since your p4vzw doesn't have any stock ROM available, I can't help with that. The only p4vzw ROM that I know of would be Infamous AOKP 4.2 by kasper_h, maybe you can try that.

I have found the AOKP rom you were talking about, but now the problem for me is to get it onto my tablet so I can flash the ROM. I have wiped the system, data, cache and dalvik like you said but I am still unable to get out of the bootloop after I restart it. During the bootloop it shows Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 and then a yellow icon comes out, sort of like a yield sign, and then the screen just shuts off, any thoughts?

But you can get into recovery right? Then you can use adb to sideload the ROM zip into your tab.

Hi guys.
It all started from ROM Manager where I did click on delete a backup, then phone crashed.
When I did start it up again, the main boot screen (with yellow triangle) did show for few seconds and then nothing.
Then I have the symbol flat battery (even if plugged), but not showing as charging.
I did try to remove battery, wait, put it back, same problem.
The device does not log into Recovery mode, only in download mode.
I then did try to reflash the kernel (Siyah 3.3.3d) from Odin, which was successful, but still same problem, after few seconds showing the boot image (Samsung + root logo), same problem.
Do you have an idea what's wrong?
I did try my battery in another S2 and it shows 92% which is correct. I then suspected a kernel problem but looks like Odin flash is not solving the issue.
Thanks for your help, and I love this forum, it contains so much!

Looks like you might have to go to www.sammobile.com download a stock firmware and flash through odin. Then root it.
Thanks, I will try that now.

Humm, I did flash it successful with Odin, however, on startup, I have the Samsung boot annimation and then the big coloured S, but it won't go further.
Do you have any ideas?
Is there a way to wipe all from Odin?

Can you get to recovery?
If so, you can try to wipe cache and dalvik
and if that doesnt work, try to wipe data/factory reset.
Ohh I did not know I could reboot in recovery mode on a non rooted device.
OK I did wipe the cache and I didmange to go further the S logo.
Thanks very much for your help, it looks like phone did boot again.
So I kind of read not to use ROM Manager with any AOKP, is this correct?
What app should be used then to manage your roms?
Thanks,

Yea I wouldnt use rom manager period. I dont really know what you mean by managing your roms? You can just store them in your download folder/on your sd card and then reboot to recovery in cwm and flash through there.
Thanks kilometers4.
OK, so no need for ROM Manager, only doing things from CWM.
Any suggestion on tool to root the device and then having access to CWM?

Flash cf root to root your device, just make sure it matches your kernel.

No problem, glad to help.
If you're looking for a stable ICS rom, I'd suggest RootBox. That is if you're wanting to flash another rom.
I did enjoy so far Lite'ning ROM, and I really loved Resurrection, which is the one I did use until this morning where I had this problem.
I may give a go to the one you mentioned.
It's not easy to find what's suits you best, but it's part of the fun.
Finding an appropriate kerlnel and modem is not easy too

As long as you can get in downloadmode you`re oke. Look om www.sammobile.com/firmware for the stock rom you need (country or region you live in) and flash it with Odin. See item 3 in my signature for a detailled tutorial how to do that. You might need a jig however, but try getting in downloadmode manualy for now.

I have a similar problem
My S3 does not work after I root it, please give me a instruction link to recuse it. Thanks.
I tried flashing (Odin v3.04) the official 4.1.1 after trying the official 4.1.2 and now neither of them work. I am constantly stuck at the "SAMSUNG" logo boot stage.
I can enter download mode fine and also recovery mode but I am stumped on what to do to fix the problem.
Does anyone have a fix?

Edit: Found more updated version of stock firmware from sammobile, will try that tomorrow and post results.I hope this works, though the problem may be because I cant wipe the dalvik or data because I cant access recovery, I was previously running cm10.1 nightlies and trying to get back to stock.

GT-i9300 stuck at the startup logo
Hi Guys
My GS3 is stuck at the boot logo. I've read and done all but with no luck,
First problem:
EFS error:
"Fake IMEI (usually 004999010640000)
Not registered to network
Fake Serial Number (usually 0000000)"
Now: stuck on boot logo.
I followed the forum for GT-i9500 thinking this would resolve my efs error. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2392632
I did the following:
1. installed PhoeniX.ROM.EFS.Backup.S4
2. Extracted the efs backup tar file & created a folder in the root called efsbackup & copied all extracted files to it.
3. Used Root Explorer to copy all files to the efs main folder. overwriting all.
4. Used the terminal:
su
busybox chown 1001:1001 /efs/nv_data.bin
busybox chmod 06755 /efs/nv_data.bin
5. rebooted.
nothing happened I was still stuck with the efs error
Now I entered safe mode, and nothing i could do, used the hold power button + restart.
now I'm in my second problem, stuck at the boot logo.
I can go to recovery & download mode....
Please help, i really need it hey

I realize it's Saturday, July 26, 2014 - But I had this exact same problem a moment ago; I got out of it by flashing a different recovery with Odin v3.09. I've got soft bricked staring down "Recovery Booting" and that's it. I had download mode available, so went to CWM 6.0.4.5 from TWRP 2.7.1.0. I must admit I thought flashing my HTC Titan I via Goldcard was hard, but this is ridiculous which my SG3 has presented just to get something other than Android Recovery 3e. I got Knox disabled, the device rooted despite being 4.3, but it begs the question what's the point of updating to 4.4.x if going backwards becomes an act of God doing it. Update: Another attempt did not fix the booting problem; however it is a solution to get out of the recovery booting and boot into a normal startup and back to your phone being usable from whatever launcher you use (Nova in my case) It will return to normal startup once you do this if it becomes necessary to do so, which is a bit of a sigh of relief. I'm about at wit's end. One problem gets solved but the moment I ran Towelroot which really worked, new issues keep popping up. Is there a way to look at the bootloader or what OS update created this Knox monstrosity and made our lives much harder than it has to be. I don't mean to sound like I'm asking a stupid question but is there an apk or a procedure within whatever flavor recovery we use that will perform the equivalent of the Task29 we use to perform on the HD2, something that will wipe these devices down to their baby butts and start over; thanks?

Try flashing CWM recovery again using Heimdall or Odin. Once it boots into recovery, flash TWRP or another recovery of your choice, then reboot and hopefully you will see your boot animation. That's what I did to get AOKP build 40 to boot again (though strangely enough, it's stuck with Devil recovery even after flashing TWRP). Hope this helps you guys out. And be sure to make backups!

Again, how can i put twrp on my sd card if i'm stuck in recovery? Is there a link for an odin version of twrp
You should be able to mount your SD card in recovery anyway. If not, take it out and insert it into an adapter to plug into your computer. I don't know if there's an Odin version of TWRP, I flashed it in CWM recovery.
I would read droid styles guide first if you have not yet as it has all the answers you will need. You just need to read through it and following the directions.

If you're using CWM, it's under Advanced or Mounts and Storage. Plug in the USB cable like you normally would.

You got the zip, right? It's in the Fascinate development section of the forums.
There is nothing wrong with the phone. I don't understand why you can't just Odin back to stock and start over. With the amount of time you have been stuck in recovery you could have fixed it by now. It you could follow droid styles guide to get out of the recovery loop without going back to stock. Something tells me you really just want a new phone...am I close???

Anyway, sorry for getting snippy, I was just really tired and frustrated. I did use the .zip from the forums.
If you've already tried Heimdall-flashing CWM again, and that didn't work, then I suggest you Odin back to stock as shelby suggested. If you haven't made a nandroid already, do so, then revert back to stock and start from scratch. You can try restoring your nandroid once you're no longer stuck in recovery.

There's also a topic about the "three-finger recovery boot loop" fix. You could try that.
Hey guys. I seem to be having trouble getting my Samsung Galaxy 4.2 out of it's recovery mode. I'll start with how I got here. So one day I was on my galaxy when the power ran out. I tried restarting it and found myself in a boot loop. So to fix it I tried flashing a kernel. All was well until I found out my wifi wasn't working. So I read up on some forums an people said the best fix was to just re-flash a kernel. So I did it again and it worked for a time. Then once again it said I was connected to the wifi, yet I couldn't actually get on anything wifi related. So again, to fix it I flashed a kernel. Now I'm really stuck. The kernel I flashed gave me a SG2 logo at boot, as well as a yellow triangle. Now whenever I try starting my SGP 4.2, it goes right into the recovery mode. I've also flashed a custom recovery mode to clear the Dalvik and normal cache, but it still does nothing. I've also tried re-flashing ROMS and kernels, but it still just leads me to this darn recovery mode.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Try to go stock rom and kernel with Odin. Then try to reflash the CWM. Wifi fix files and instructions are here:
