FAQ
THEME FAQ
What's the difference between the dark and the dark_minimal theme?
The minimal themes only have one highlight color (dark holo blue).
The main advantage of the minimal themes is their reduced boot time compared to the multicolor versions.
They're ment to be used as base for porting or creating other single color versions.
Can I use this theme on my *devicename*?
Most likely yes. The themes can be used on any device with the screen resolution the filename of the theme suggests.
For example, the "1080_*variant*.zip" can be used on any FullHD device.
When I reboot to recovery, the theme isn't applied. Any ideas?
This is most likeley due to wrong naming of the theme folder or the ui.zip.
Make sure the folder is named "theme", without capital letters.
Also check if you accidentally renamed the downloaded zip to "ui.zip.zip" (common pitfall when renaming the zip in windows explorer).
When I reboot to recovery, I get a "recovery bootloop". Is my phone broken?
Nope, this is most likeley due to a bad download.
Please download the theme again using another browser or app. For instance, ES File Explorer's build-in downloader has proven to be unreliable for the dropbox links I provide.
I like what you did there, but can I has more/other colorz?
Colors are a matter of personal preferrence. I try to keep the themes neutral, and the colors used are (mostly) in accordance with android design guidelines.
For other colors, you'll have to modify the theme yourself. I will gladly provide the source file for the images to everyone interested.
Will you make a dark/black Play theme?
No, because I don't want to maintain more versions of the theme. But everybody is welcome to contribute to the thread...
Will you help me to port my favourite other theme to device XY?
No. But this guide provides insight on how you can do it.
RECOVERY REPACK FAQ
What version of TWRP is the repack?
Always the latest available for a certain device.
As I don't keep track of all TWRP threads, please remind me if there was an update for your device.
I'd like a repack for *devicename*, how do I make one?
Download and unpack Android Image Kitchen.
Unpack the zip.
Download the zip containing the custom curtains (splash images).
Get the recovery image you want to modify from the TWRP download site.
Copy the recovery image to the Image Kitchen folder.
In windows explorer, drag & drop the recovery image on the "unpackimg.bat".
Unpacking will create two new folders (ramdisk and split_image).
Rename the splash of your choice to "curtain.jpg" and drop it into /ramdisk/res/images.
Hit "repackimg.bat".
This will create a "image-new.img", which you can then flash away using your preferred method.
My preferred method for installing the recovery is GooManager, so how do I flash this .img thing?
Use the theme. It now supports direct image flashing from the install page.
Via Fastboot. Most useful to know how to (especially in case things go sideways).
Via app. For a variety of devices, Flashify has proven to be a good app for flashing recovery images. It's under (very) active development and I highly recommend to give it a try.
Alternative apps (can be device specific): SGS4 Flasher, ... (please help me to populate this part)
AROMA FM
The theme has an option to use the Aroma File Manager as the default recovery file manager.
Download this flashable zip.
Flash the zip in recovery.
It will copy the flashable Aroma FM package to \TWRP\aromafm.
Go to "settings" and tick the option to use Aroma FM.
Profit.

All themes updated
All themes updated
added theme chooser to holofied settings
moved holofied settings into seperate menu (play, xda)
fixed position of progress bar on wipe pages (play)
How to use the theme chooser:
copy all themes to your device (use internal storage if you have a device with micro sd)
in holofied settings, go to "swap theme" page, browse to the theme.zip and select it
confirm your selection (recovery will now copy the zip to the correct folder, rename it to ui.zip, then reload the theme)
NOTE 1: Reloading the theme will set all theme settings to default. Recovery settings will persist.
NOTE 2: Reloading the theme will sometimes trigger a recovery reboot (appeared randomly on Galaxy S3).

I tried the Play theme and now im stuck in a recovery bootloop. I pulled battery and waited a bit, every time i attempt to power on the phone it wants to boot into recovery and gets stuck in the loop. Is there anything i can do besides Odin back to stock?

First try to ODIN to stock recovery, boot to recovery and wipe cache. It should boot back into system afterwards. I've had this problem on the S3 with the light theme (and only with the light theme), so I'd be interested if you can fix it that way, and if the problem persists after you've redownloaded the theme and tried again (recovery bootloops might also be caused by a faulty download, but then you should still be able to boot into system....)
So plaese let me knoe how it goes...
EDIT:
I was searching for a standalone stock recovery to flash, but can't find any.
As the CF-Autoroot package also contains the stock recovery, you can try to flash this one via odin, or you just take the recovery.img and flash it via fastboot...

I Odin'd recovery and booted system back up. Flashed the repacked recovery for the new curtain. Going to attempt theme again. Should I use the 1080 or multirom version?
EDIT: nvm, I got it working. I used the 1080Play.zip and it worked now. Thanks!!! I was getting tired of the old look. Love it!

Good, glad you brought it back to life again. The MultiRom versions can currently only be used on Nexus 5 and HTC One. It requires a modded recovery which allows you to install multiple roms. It's a nice feature for the restless flasher but not available for the S5 (yet).

How come my TWRP dark doesn't have any blue in it like in the OP?

Feedback needed
Okay, so here are two new versions to test. If you do, please give feedback.
The only change is the way the color changing is handled. So please change the colors back and forth and report any oddities (or if it's working).
To change the color, the ui.zip will be unpacked, the image set with the selected highlight color will be copied to the folder that is used by the recovery, and a search and replace operation will alter color definitions in the xml file. Then everythig is zipped again and copied to the theme folder.
This means:
The color change will no longer happen "on the fly". The recovery needs to reboot for the change to take effect.
The xml file is no longer 25k lines long, but 10k lines (like current minimal themes). Once you have set up the theme, the time to boot to recovery should decrease significantly (compared with the current multicolor versions).
If this works on all devices, there will be no more need for the minimal themes (good for me).
The shortened xml gives room for new features without pushing boot time above 10 seconds (good for all).

About image flashing
The feature is tested on Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (grouper and flo)
It allows to flash .img files from recovery without the need for a flashable zip
Supported types are "boot", "recovery" and "radio / modem"
The install page now has a toggle to switch between zip files and images (see screenshots)
Simply choose the image, then select the image type and flash away
Also read the "about" text box before flashing :good:
The script works only on devices with standard "by-name" partition naming, thus it will not work on all devices the themes are available for
If your device is among the unsupported ones, the script will bail and wont flash the image - instead it will tell you you need to continue to use zips or apps

Ok, makes sense, I used ES before reading this part. But now my S5 won't boot to anything other than recovery, and it "bootloops". I've taken the battery out twice, and it's still booting into recovery automatically. Probably because I told TWRP to reboot to recovery after I renamed the file to ui.zip, so it's saved in /cache to "boot recovery" and won't be cleared until something boots to clear it...
I've tried booting into the bootloader (which works), but apparently the bootloader doesn't clear the "boot recovery" flag, so I end up right back in the "bootloop" after another reboot.
Ideas?

.... I should read before I post. lol
Also, a simple "adb reboot" worked too. Apparently it's just the UI that loops, the system underneath is running fine.

FAQ
AROMA FM
Download this flashable zip.
Flash the zip in recovery.
It will copy the flashable Aroma FM package to \TWRP\aromafm.
Go to "settings" and tick the option to use Aroma FM.
Profit.

This is just a theme for the recovery and the screen resolution is the same across all Note II variants, therefore, it works fine on each.

How to use:
Download the theme of your choice and rename it to "ui.zip".
On SD card open TWRP folder and create a folder called "theme", without capital letters.
Copy ui.zip to theme folder.
Restart to recovery.
I've did exactly what you said here and nothing happens to my recovery

Please don't take this as an offence, but you didn't use the hyphens I hope? Other than that I'm afraid I can't help you, as I only have devices with virtual SD.
Hopefully gewuerzwiesel can help you sort it.

Mate, I just rooted my girlfriends S3 to have a device with internal and external SD to test. I dropped the theme in the TWRP folder on sdcard0, which is the phones internal storage. Rebooted, worked.
Maybe a bad download? Please try again with the updated version and let me know how it went.
Cheers.

Installation instructions
NEW INSTALL PROCEDURE (simplified):
wipe data / factory reset.
flash 5.8.zip
that is the only file you need.
when you flash it , you will see options for part 1 and 2.
install part 1.
reboot to system.
flash 5.8.zip
install part 2.
choose options,
fix permissions, reboot.
the new installer will walk you through the install easily and quickly.
MY INSTALL PROCEDURE:
Figured I'd write these down so that there was no confusion. These are the steps I take to ensure a proper install.
There may be other methods that work just fine, however, this works every time for me and is most compatible.
If you have any problems.. before you get angry, you may want to try this way first.
While doing this, it's safe to ignore all references to "unable to mount '/usbstorage.'" This is just recovery looking for a usb otg device.
Nothing to worry about here. Just pretend it doesn't exist. It's looking for a usb stick or hd.
1. >Copy minin3.mj4.R4x.zip to your memory card. (internal or external - I use the external card for backups and rom installs,
and have never run into an issue though my card is only 16gb. If you have any issues here try from the internal card and remove the external.
In my case external_sd/roms/minin3/minin3.mj4.R4ultimate.zip)
2. >Boot phone to recovery. (from power off - volume up+home+power)
I use TWRP recovery Version - 2.6.3.7. However, if you run into issues you may try going back to version - 2.6.3.2
3. >press "wipe"
>press "advanced wipe"
>check "Dalvik Cache" , "System" , "Data" , "cache"
(you may be able to get away with not wiping data, but once again, I highly recommend it)
>swipe to Wipe
>look for "wipe complete successful" at the top of the screen
(once agian ignore all references to "unable to mount '/usbstorage')
>press "back"
>press the little house icon in the bottom left (sort of anyway)
>press "reboot"
>press "recovery"
>swipe to reboot
>press "do not install"
(phone will then reboot back to recovery)
4. >press "install"
>navigate to your rom file
(in my case, I pressed on the grey bar that says "storage: internal storage" and selected "micro sdcard" (the external sd)
I then selected the folder "minin3" from the bottom box, then the file "minin3.mj4.R4ultimate.zip")
>swipe to confirm flash
(ignore "unable to mount /usbstorage")
>wait aprox 1-3 minutes while it does its thing.. you should then see "successful" and some buttons
>press "reboot system"
5. >Initial phone setup is optional. In my case, I just skip it all and log in after. Works both ways.
(either way, get through the setup wizard until you are on the desktop)
>boot back into recovery (either power off, or reboot and hold vol+ and home)
6. >press "install"
>navigate back to the rom file (for me once again minin3/minin3.mj4.R4ultimate.zip)
>swipe to confirm flash (give it a minute to do its thing)
>press the little home button again in the bottom left
7. >press "advanced"
>press "fix permissions"
>swipe to confirm (this should be very quick)
>press "reboot system"
8. phone should boot to dashboard
9. >now would be a good time to also open both viper4android apps and let them install the drivers
>choose whatever setting you like for viper4android and choose cortex neon for xhifi.
At this point you should be ready to go with all the major stuff ready and known bugs squashed.
11. >reboot
12. >enjoy MiniN3 v5.4
(If dirty flashing (not wiping before hand - epecially data) you still may want to boot and flash a second time, and then fix permissions in case I missed anything.. it won't hurt either way)
UPDATE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS>
FULLY INSTALL PREVIOUS VERSION (in this case 5.4)
then reboot to recovery, flash the update, and before rebooting go to advanced>fix permissions.
then reboot.

CONTRIBUTORS TAKE NOTICE.
Apparently issue was taken with how we were running the thread.
In an attempt to keep us in the rules the following changes were made.
Even though all users were getting updates as I thought they were stable. We are not allowed to have anything that looks like your paying to get extra features.
Some issues were also taken with the donation wording.
Until we decide a final solution. This is what will happen for the immediate future.....
ALL CONTRIBUTORS have been moved to the "test group"
For you guys nothing really changes.
The folder your using stays the same though the label will change from contributor folder to test folder.
New additions to the test group will be at my discretion only. Anyone may contact me by PM or email and ask for a slot. I can accept or deny them at will.
From time to time I will invite users from the thread who have shown a commitment to the rom.
I will also invite those who contribute something useful to the rom. (If they have work in it they should have access at all points)
The test group will then continue the same job as the contributor group was doing previously. Really for this part it's just a name change. As things are deemed stable (by me again no one else gets a say here) they will be released to everyone.
I'm not sure how else this will effect the future of this rom on xda. Though I will be maintaining development for my own use anyway.
So for the moment. As far as you guys are concerned. No real changes.
If anyone would like details you may contact me privately.
I will only discuss this here in general terms just so there is no possible future issue.

Great Thanks

thats what i like to hear. version two coming in the next day or so. mostly done.another 80 mb removed but added some functionality back.
re added gallery mostly just so it was possible to change lockscreen wallpaper. cleaned up some bugs added some smaller stuff back. still looking like right around 550mb with some of the functions returned.i am going to keep the stock installed apps very light but want it to come out of the box with everything needed to use.anything else can just be grabbed from the market. just finishing up what to add back.and finding a place to host it and get it uploaded with my slow poke internet,

[ROM/THEMES/MODS] OZOP v4 CUSTOM THEME BUILDER ROM AND UTILITY TOOL 11/17/14

*BEFORE INSTALLING THIS OR ANYTHING THAT MODIFIES YOUR SYSTEM MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP!!!
OZOP ROM v4One Zip One Place with Missing Link Theme Builder
I started out theming back on my S2 and created what is now called "Missing Link"
As any themer/developer knows, these things take test, after test, after test, to get things working and looking properly !!!
The problem is, every time things get left behind and garbage files build up until the ROM isn't running just how I like.
I USED to have to wipe everything and flash the Base ROM, then flash seperate file after file, or mods and theme options to get it back to where i wanted it and this is where O.Z.O.P. is born!!!
My idea for this project is to have One Zip file in One Place with EVERYTHING you could want or need to build a new and different ROM when you feel the need for change. So this will DEFINITELY be W.I.P. and grow with more and more to come, and go if need be!!
So Here is a run down of the options given to you during the Aroma Installation
Starting with
*Backup/Restore your current settings, accounts, Bluetooth/WiFi pairings, text messages and setting with call logs, very convenient when you are a pure flashaholic like myself.
There is definitely a right way and wrong way to apply your restoration.
Don't worry that I've testing it thousands of times literally.
click for instructions on Backup/Restore Script
Right now the complete Restore Script isn't working in the same flash session as the ROM install.
follow these to reduce problems
1) In recovery run the "Backup Script"
2) Flash the ROM (of your choice)
3) in the same session run "Restore Script" and any other mods you want. This will get your account sign in finished
4) let the phone boot up and finish the "Set up Wizard"
5) now boot to recovery and run the "Restore Script" and this will finish restoring your settings options and text messages.
if you have "force close of android.process.acore" or any other force close issue
***THE FIX EVER TIME IS GET TO RECOVERY AND FIX PERMISSIONS!!! *** Simple as that.

I have been porting this from my old S2 for about a month now and it's finally getting close enough for a public release.
This is most definitely a WIP!! Basically what you will get from this is a Stock deodexed debloated ROM packaged inside an Aroma zip that will be usable with any TW ROM. The utility script has options for Backup/Restore of your current setup (saves that annoying 10 minutes after booting a new ROM), options for Stock or Custom Kernels, Themed Gapps, a handful of Key apps and Tools to get you by. There is a section for Mods and System Tweaking Scripts and then there is "THE MISSING LINK" Theme builder inside the same file. You have the option to pick from 4 pre-built themes or go for the Build-a-Theme option will when I get it dialed will have literally Unlimited options for new theme option. The Theme options are Vrtheme for universal compatibility. You will be able to choose from ootions like Dialerpad Backgrounds and Numbers, Signalbars, Data Icons/Arrows, Volume and Brightness Sliders, Spinners, Settings Backgrounds, Pulldown Backgrounds, and a Base System Option which will theme to match, those apks will include Framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk, SecSettings.apk, SecMms_Blue.apk, SecTele and InCallUi.apks, Keyguard.apk and some of the other common system apks.
You will also have options that allow Custom Bootanimations/Shutdown Animations.
Remember this is work in progress. I will be uploading it soon. The script will be complete and fully functional with notes about what isn't working. The Script is a huge part of this project because it has soooo many options with most options having either a still shot or Animated previews for those features (Bootanimation, Spinners and Animated Pulldown Bars)
I am always open for new ideas and please let me know if things aren't working. Thanks again.
I will be working on this OP in time to properly label what is going on and to give credits where they are do. This project wouldn't be possible without all of the brilliant minds here on XDA!!!

HERE
is the link to the download.
Remember everyone, this is W.I.P. with more to come.
**Right now the Installer Script is complete and fully functional. There are some features that are not ready and this is Clearly stated in the installer.
***The ROM is based off this Stock NG3
and is a separate download right now. Hence the BETA v3 title. The next release coming soon will include the ROM base.
**This file is designed as an AIO ROM builder, as in flash any TW ROM and tweak/theme it with this zip file.
**I WILL BE DOING MAJOR CLEAN UP TO THE OP SHORTLY FOR BETTER UNDERSTANDING.
Thank you
Uploading v1 now... Any takers?
I am uploading an update for this right now.
Just so everyone knows, when this is 100% functional it will not be just a ROM with add-ons, it is setup and designed to work with any TW ROM running KK. The ROM base is simply there for people who want to build your ROM or for people running a custom ROM and ate missing that one feature. I plan to have as many custom features, mods and tweaks available as possible.
The Theming sections is absolutely awesome and so much fun to mix and match for a custom one of a kind look.
With the help of the users and permissions from other developers I think this can become a community project for us all to sharw while we are running our lives with this decice in hand.
Sorry I don't have the most beautiful OP or even the informative for that matter. I will get it there. Stick with me a be patient and we will all be happy.
I am open for suggestions or any comments.
Thank you for checking this out.
Here is the link for Not Now v1
I'm about to try it out but I'm a bit confused. Do I install this after I install an NG3 ROM i.e infinity ROM?

Sorry for the confusion. For now it is to be installed after a ROM is installed. I am still building the ROM that will be inside. I have been running Infinity since last night and it runs flawless with the additional mods I ran as well as themed perfectly.
I have A LOT to explain to everyone about what this is.
Here is what I do
1) download and put zip on internal sdcard (just loads faster)
2) run "Not Now zip" to make a Backup of my current setup and do the full wipe while in the installer (make sure and uncheck "reboot device" at the end since you will have wipes your ROM)
3)install what ever ROM you like
4)run "Not Now" again for modding/tweaking/theming and to restore your info.
5)reboot and enjoy
Or option two
If you don't want to install a new rom
1)download and put on intSD
2)run "Not Now" for what ever you please.
Enjoy and if something doesn't stick let me know so I can make the necessary fixes. Thank
I might give this a go . If im understanding correctly this is kinda like a more advanced aroma installer ? Or do i have the option to make al the changes after the Rom is installed?

I've ran both and had no problems. I try for universal compatibility, with Touch Wiz 4.4.2 Kit Kat. Most of this is script and vrtheme mods.
To further answer your question, yes this is a very advanced Aroma Installer. It is designed to come back later from time to time and play with mods and themes. It is still light on the mods side since I've only just begun. I've had no major issues.
The first bug I've ran in to is Play Store not installing. So far that is the only thing I need to rework.
Also I just noticed that "Camera" options aren't making it in to the install either, this is weird because this just bately started on beta v3. Don't worry though. Should have those things fixed and more options to come in the next release.
Can you run this on Alliance Rom V5 G900F o just the US T-mobile G900T ? Probably wont wait for reply my ORD illness needs some medicine .

Should run fine on that version. I've noticed when I run this on Alliance ROMs all the main options run just fine. When running themeing options you have to have "Rom control" options set to default (signalbars or anything modified by "Not Now" will only show in default options)
v2 is ready for downloading
Check the OP for link and changelog.
Still working on the getting the OP updated with all the info about this.
Basically this now includes a debloated NG3 ROM as well as more mod options and filled in a lot of missing images for theming. Still a long way from being where I want it, but this is a good start and with plenty of options and stability for a Daily Driver.
Any comments or suggestions are always welcome.
Just used this. I love it. So many cool options.
Requests:
An option to quickly remove something you've installed with the app.
please add LMT launcher.

I have a ton of mods options ready to be added, but my PC is having issues with apktool and I'm unable to recompile right now. It'll get there though... Sooner than later I'm hoping!
A couple of possible bugs in the latest script
1) the "Full Wipe" option is not working. So if your installing from a different ROM I recommend using "Factory reset" in rocover to prevent issues
2)if you install "Black Dialer" with this or any other Odex ROMs the oded file needs to be removed or named changed to "odex.bak"
Other than that things are coming along smooth. Over the next few weeks I will be working alot on the "Theme" options and getting "Mods" added.
Let me know of any issues or requests
Thanks

Working on putting together some screenshots for everyone.
As far as AOSP themes? Not sure if you are looking for AOSP like themes or AOSP compatible themes? Either way, no, the themes here are compatible with 4.4.2 Kit Kat TouchWiz ROMs.
On a side note, how are people doing with the installer? Is it confusing? Are you understanding how to see previews of your theme options? Are things working? I have and update with theming coming along real nicely. I am still having issues with decompile/compile, so I'm not able to get the mods I want as of yet. I'll get my pc formated and setup very soon and then the mods will be here.
Here are a few shots of some theming. Its hard to say which theme it is because of the ability to mix and match what you want.

I am not responsible for your device.
You must be rooted.
So far as I'm aware, the Google Sans font is new for the 8.1.0 preview, or at least it being used for the colon in the lockscreen is new.
Due to this, the old lockscreen-clock font fix didn't work.

What are probably going to be frequently asked questions:
Q: Will this work on 8.0, 7.1.1, or 7.1.2?
A: So far as I can tell, the GoogleSans font is new for 8.1.0, so the zip will probably work, but the lockscreen clock will probably have the square issue. I would have a full backup of all your stock font files before you try it, if I were you.
Q: Will this work on my device (that's not a Pixel 2 or 2 XL)
A: So far as I can tell, the GoogleSans font is new for 8.1.0, so the zip will probably work, but the lockscreen clock will probably have the square issue. I would have a full backup of all your stock font files before you try it, if I were you.
Q: Do I take request? Can you please make xxxx font work?
A: Yes, but you will need to do some work as well, and you will have to be patient. I will work on them as time allows.
Here's what I will need from you:
The font files you want zipped up and posted in this thread. (I'm not going to go searching)
The font files you upload MUST have at least the follow types of files/weights, otherwise I WILL NOT BOTHER WITH IT:
Bold
Bold Italic
Regular or Medium
Regular Italic or Medium Italic (not absolutely necessary, but preferred)
If you want your font to really look good everywhere, then you should look for fonts that come with the following weights as well:
Thin or Light
Thin Italic or Light Italic
Condensed-regular or condensed-medium. The more condensed versions the better (eg - condensed-bold, condensed-italic, condensed-light, etc.)
Custom ROM and Android P Font Fixes
-Custom ROMs for the Pixel 2/XL apparently don't use the GoogleSans-Regular font for the lock screen clock; hence, the fix that has been applied to all of these fonts does not work on custom ROMs.
-As far as Android P, Google decided to use some of their GoogleSans-xxxx files in places that they didn't in Oreo. Because they weren't used in previous versions Android (at least as far as anyone was able to tell), they were never thought of as needing to be replaced in custom font zips, and so there are a few spots in Android P where the custom font does not get set properly.
Don't worry, though. I've got you covered.
- If the zip you're going to flash says something along the lines of "FixedForStockAndCustomROMS," then it's already been fixed and it will work on a custom ROM.
- If the title of the zip you're going to flash says anything about "Android P" in it, then it's already been fixed and should work without any issues on Android P.
Otherwise if the zip title makes no mention of custom ROMs or Android P, you'll need to use this fix.
AFTER you flash one of these font zips, flash the Pixel2XL_FontFixFor-CustomROMs+Android-P zip from this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75605109&postcount=373.
That will fix your lock-screen clock issue when on custom ROMs or Android P.
So far, it's been verified as working on Nitrogen, Dirty Unicorn, Resurrection Remix and Android P. If you've tried it successfully on other ROMs, please let us know.
Available fonts so far:
*All fonts have fully functioning lockscreen fonts, meaning there is no need to apply a fix because I've already done that.

How to Make Your Own Flashable Font Zips
Picking the Right Font
Notice the image below.
The screenshots are of the following:
Quick Settings
XDA Labs
The Project Fi App
My app drawer
In just these four snippets we have six different font weights. A font weight typically refers to the thickness or thinness of a font, as well as styles like italic.
In the first post, I mentioned that I will only put together files with a certain amount of font-weight files. This is because, as you can see from the image, they are necessary.
Now, you could Google your favorite font, and find it in only one weight -- regular. Then you could apply that regular weight font to the twenty different types of font files that are found natively in /system/fonts so that all of your font files are now replaced by that one font weight file you found.
What you'll have then is a mess, in my opinion. Apps layouts are designed with certain font weights in mind. Aside from that, they are also used to draw the users attention to certain things. Important things are usually bold. Headers are usually bold. Italics can emphasize a point in a different way. Some things, like the app drawer, for example, used a condensed font so that as many letters as possible can be used in the relatively small space allotted for icon text. As you can see in my image, even though I've used an Ubuntu condensed font for the app drawer, there still isn't enough room. Imagine if I used a non-condensed font. I might only get half of what I'm getting now.
My point is this: You should really try to find a font that has as many weights as possible.
Below is a list of all the native fonts in /system/fonts:
Roboto-Black.ttf
Roboto-BlackItalic.ttf
Roboto-Bold.ttf
Roboto-BoldItalic.ttf
Roboto-Italic.ttf
Roboto-Light.ttf
Roboto-LightItalic.ttf
Roboto-Medium.ttf
Roboto-MediumItalic.ttf
Roboto-Regular.ttf
Roboto-Thin.ttf
Roboto-ThinItalic.ttf
RobotoCondensed-Bold.ttf
RobotoCondensed-BoldItalic.ttf
RobotoCondensed-Italic.ttf
RobotoCondensed-Light.ttf
RobotoCondensed-LightItalic.ttf
RobotoCondensed-Medium.ttf
RobotoCondensed-MediumItalic.ttf
RobotoCondensed-Regular.ttf
Well, that's not entirely accurate. Those files listed are the important ones. Replacing those files will, for the most part, replace everything that you'll see.
Notice that there are twenty different font weights available for the Roboto font. This is the ideal situation.
I'll go ahead and say that you're not likely to find a font that you really like that comes with even half that many weights.
Hence, in the first post I said to have at least these weights in any fonts that you want me to make: bold, bold italic, regular or medium, regular italic or medium italic. In my opinion, those weights should be the absolute least amount that you settle for. And, I'll say it again, even finding a font with just that many weights is difficult.
So, let's say you've found a font that has at least the weights that I recommend. Continue on to the next section.
Replacing the Stock Font Files with Your Own
For our example, we'll use the SonySketch font that someone requested I make.
Below are the font files that were the zip I was given:
SonySketch-Bold
SonySketch-BoldItalic
SonySketch-Italic
SonySketch-Regular
Now technically, that's a little short of what I asked for; however, "Italic" can be taken to simply mean regular italic or medium italic, so it works.
Next, we have to figure out how to turn those four font files into the twenty stock files.
Basically, we'll just copy the SonySketch files, then rename the copies to match stock fonts.
So, lets start with the bold.
I know from double clicking the font files on my PC and then viewing the font that, the "Black" font/weight is a bold or bold-ish weight. So, we'll use the SonySketch-Bold for the Roboto-Black file, Roboto-Bold, and RobotoCondensed-Bold.
I'll copy the SonySketch file and rename that copy to Roboto-Black. Now we have a Roboto-Black file that is actually the SonySketch-Bold font.
I'll repeat that step two more times for the other Roboto bold font weight files.
I'll use the SonySketch-BoldItalic for Roboto-BlackItalic, Roboto-BoldItalic, and RobotoCondensed-BoldItalic (since the SonySketch didn't come with a condensed weight).
In the end, this is what we did:
SonySketch-Bold --> Roboto-Black
SonySketch-Bold --> Roboto-Bold
SonySketch-Bold --> RobotoCondensed-Bold
SonySketch-BoldItalic --> Roboto-BlackItalic
SonySketch-BoldItalic --> Roboto-BoldItalic
SonySketch-BoldItalic --> RobotoCondensed-BoldItalic
Now, let's look at the SonySketchRegular.
Since SonySketch didn't come with thin, light, or medium weights, we'll have to use regular for those weights as well.
Following the same copying and renaming scheme from above, we'll do this with the SonySketch-Regular file:
SonySketch-Regular --> RobotoCondensed-Light
SonySketch-Regular --> RobotoCondensed-Medium
SonySketch-Regular --> RobotoCondensed-Regular
SonySketch-Regular --> Roboto-Light
SonySketch-Regular --> Roboto-Medium
SonySketch-Regular --> Roboto-Regular
SonySketch-Regular --> Roboto-Thin
We're almost there.
We have one more SonySketch file to deal with -- SonySketch-Italic.
Again, since we dont have thin-italic, light-italic, or medium-italic weights, we'll have to use the one SonySketch-Italic file for all of those.
Following the same copying and renaming scheme from above, we'll do this with the SonySketch-Italic file:
SonySketch-Italic --> RobotoCondensed-Italic
SonySketch-Italic --> RobotoCondensed-LightItalic
SonySketch-Italic --> RobotoCondensed-MediumItalic
SonySketch-Italic --> Roboto-Italic
SonySketch-Italic --> Roboto-LightItalic
SonySketch-Italic --> Roboto-MediumItalic
SonySketch-Italic --> Roboto-ThinItalic
That's it! We're done copying and renaming files. Now you should have all twenty stock font files replaced with your own font files.
The last things we need to do is to do the same thing with the GoogleSans-Regular.ttf file. This file is new to Android 8.0, I believe, and it is the file responsible for the clock font.
Since it's a regular font file, just make yet another copy of the SonySketch-Regular file and rename it to GoogleSans-Regular.
We're mostly done. All that's left is that we've got to fix the GoogleSans-Regular file you just made so that you don't get the square character instead of the colon in your lockscreen font.
Keep reading to learn how to do that.
Fixing the Lockscreen Clock Square Issue
Many thanks to @AndroPlus for telling me where to look to fix this file.
Tools Required:
FontForge - https://fontforge.github.io/en-US/ (it's free)
1. Run the FontForge application as administrator (this will allow you to save it to your C: drive, if you want to)
2. You only have a limited number of places to choose when you choose to open a file:
C:/
Anywhere in your user folder
The "Documents" folder
Anywhere in the "Users" folder
I work from a secondary drive called F:/Data that FontForge can't get to for some reason. So, I had to move the file I was working with to one of those locations. Just keep that in mind.
3. Find your font file, leave everything as is and click "OK" to open your font file.
4. Once the file is open, you'll notice a bunch of squares. Some will have letters, numbers, characters, or symbols in them, and some will be empty.
Each one of those squares is called a glyph.
5. Find the glyph with the colon in it. It will usually be near the top mixed in with other symbols like the coma, exclamation point, etc.
6. Once you find the colon glyph, double click on it to open it up in a separate window.
7. Next we need to find the uniEE01 glyph.
This is the glyph that the lockscreen clock font looks to to grab the colon. It's a Google specialized character. Hence, most other fonts won't have it, which is why we get the "character not found" square instead of a colon.8. The uniEE01 glyph is usually located nearly at the bottom of the file, although I've seen some files where it's in the middle of the file. Be patient and take your time scrolling.
A word of advice... Keep the FontForge window as small as possible. The more glyphs you can see the slower the window will respond. If you have the FontForge window maximized to the size of your monitor so that you can see a hundred or so glyphs at once, it will be a pain staking effort to scroll to the bottom of the window.9. Once you've found the glyph labed EE01, double click on it to open it up.
10. In your secondary window, you should now have two tabs. One will be labeled as "Colon," and the other will be labeled as uniEE01.
11. In the secondary window, ensure that the colon tab is in the foreground.
12. With the colon tab in the foreground, go to Edit from the top taskbar, then choose "Copy" from the menu.
13. Then switch to the uniEE01 tab, ensuring that the uniEE01 tab is now in the foreground.
14. With the uniEE01 tab in the foreground, go to Edit from the top taskbar, then choose "Paste."
15. Ensure that the uniEE01 tab now shows a colon.
16. Close the secondary window. There is no need to save anything form that secondary window. We will save the main file in a minute.
17. Back in the main window, ensure that the EE01 glyph now contains a colon.
18. Assuming that the ee01 glyph now contains a colon, it's time to save the file.
19. Go to File in the top taskbar.
20. From the File menu, choose "Generate Fonts..."
21. In the "Generate Fonts" dialog box:
Ensure that NO checkboxes are checked. They are not necessary for our purposes.
Ensure that the file type is set to TrueType
Choose where you want to save the file to
Set the name of the file
22. Click the "Generate" button.
23. You may receive a message that says:
24. Ignore this message, by just clicking "Yes."
25. If you had already renamed your font file to GoogleSans-Regular before you opened it, and you're naming your edited file the same thing, you will of course get a prompt telling you that the file already exists, and asking you if you want to replace it.
26. Assuming that you do want to replace the file with your newly edited file, click "Replace."
27. You're finished! You have successfully patched or fixed your font file so that you won't get the lockscreen clock square instead of a colon.
28. Add your newly edited GoogleSans-Regular file to wherever you have all of your other "custom" font files.
Putting it all Together to Make Your Flashable Zip
For the sake of keeping things easy, and because I'm tired of typing at this point, I've attached a flashable font template zip to this post.
Using this template, here's how you put together your flashable zip:
1. Unzip the template zip.
2. Place all of your now customized Roboto font files inside the /system/fonts folder.
3. Place your "fixed" GoogleSans-Regular.ttf file inside the /system/fonts folder.
4. Ensure you have 21 font files inside your /system/fonts folder (20 Roboto files and 1 GoogleSans-Regular file):
4. If you want to, edit the updater-script file to include your name and anything else you want people to see when they flash your zip. You are going to share it aren't you!? The updater-script can be found in /META-INF/com/google/android.
5. Select both the META-INF and system folders and make them a compressed zip folder:
6. Name your zip whatever you like, but be sure to include the font name in the title so other people know what it is.
7. Place the zip on your phone, boot into TWRP, and flash away!
8. You've done it! CONGRATULATIONS!
More flashable zips...

I'll fix the file you sent me this evening when I get home from work. If you also want me to compose a zip for you, post all the walkway font files here.
Yes, you can flash the fonts it if you just fastboot boot TWRP and don't have it flashed permanently. However, did you know that beta-2 of TWRP was released? That's the first version that actually works on my phone. If you haven't already, you might want to give that a try for a permanent TWRP.

Yeah i saw that.maybe ill flash it this evening.
But first step is to flash stock boot image right.
The boot to twrp.flash custom kernel twrp.zip and magisk after i guess
All needed files for the font should be in the zip
I used it on my 6p without issues

I read somewhere that if you're already rooted and you're going to reflash TWRP, then you need to flash stock boot.img first. However, when I updated to the beta 2 version, I was already rooted and I did not flash the stock boot.img first, and everything went fine. Then I just rerooted using the latest magisk zip and it all went fine.

- In the attached zip is the GoogleSans-Regular.ttf file to add to your zip.
- You also need to make an adjustment to the updater-script your flashable zip because it doesn't work on the Pixel 2 like it is currently. Actually, this might have changed since the Pixel OG. I say this because I tried to flash yours like it was and the font didn't get installed. After making the change below, it worked.
The package extract line:
Code:
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
Needs to be change to:
Code:
package_extract_dir("system", "/system/system");
Add another level of /system to that line.
I was going to post the zip, but since you put the package together, you should post it to share it, if you want. I will mention that font in the first post and link to your post with the zip attached. If you post it, also include a screenshot or two so that others can tell what it looks like before they download it.

Themes / Apps / Mods Custom Magisk Module Mod Maker-ADB and Zip Installers

The purpose of the ADB installer is to generate for you a custom module that you can flash in Magisk App. The Zip Installer actually installs it for you on the final step and is done thru Magisk app instead of your pc.. Both will have all the mods that you have selected from the installer menu-folders. You need root and of course you need to be attached to your PC. On first installation of systemui base, a pop-up asking to give ADB shell root permission will show. Please do so.
Zip installer is installed from your phone, not your pc. You will install the mods through Magisk app. Unzip the Zip Installer onto your internal sdcard. Like ADB installer, start with a SystemUI base. Do not reboot between selections as Magisk as shows after flashing selections (options are found inside the numbered folders). Hit the back button to make your next selection. Do not reboot thru Magisk until after you are done with your selections and have flashed the "Complete Installation" zip.
Custom clocks (date, etc) and internet speed indicators do not change colors due to light-dark background colors like the statusbar icons do.
I'm also including my Pixel Launcher mod below. Also a ADB Installer. You can change app drawer background-text color (separately for light mode and dark mode). Change the number of hot seat icons on home page (and size) as well as change the number of columns in the app drawer.
ADB and Zip Installer Instructions-Root is required
1. Flash a SystemUI Base First. It provides the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work.
The difference between color base and stock base :
Color Base:
You have to flash a color in order to change the color of the QS tiles (default is blue). You have a choice to leave the "OFF" QS tiles as a inverse of "ON" QS color or you can change them to Gray. You also have an option to change lockscreen colors. Color base doesn't always work nicely with light theme. Nothing horible. just some text in places that is not as bright as it needs to be.
Stock Base:
This is the one most people need to use. To change the color of the QS tiles for stock base you go to settings/display/device theme and select the color you want. The "OFF" color tiles remain gray. You have an option to change settings/notification/volume bar backgrounds to black. The background accent also works with Color Base. There is no option to change lockscreen color with Stock Base.
2. FLASH ALL THE MODS YOU WANT. ONCE YOU DONE WITH EVERYTHING, FLASH THE "COMPLETE INSTALLATION" Option. This will create a Magisk App flashable zip in a folder on your sdcard called ozop (for ADB Installer). Flash that to install your selection of mods. Flashing it for Zip Installer will install it as a module and is your final step.
Root required
ADB Instructions.
1. Unzip ADB Mods Installer Files.zip on your PC
2. Run TulsadiverModsInstaller.bat (Give ADB Shell Root Permissions. If missed on first opportunity, turn on in magisk manager, superuser)
3. ADB debugging Enabled
4. Flash the SystemUI Base First. It provides the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work
5. Go through the other options selecting what all mods you want. It is generally best to start at the top and work your way down.
6. Once finished with selections, run "Complete Installation" at the bottom. This will generate your mymagisk.zip module in a folder called "ozop" on your sdcard.
Root required
ZIP Instructions.
1. Unzip Zip Installer onto your internal sdcard
2. Flash thru Magisk app. Flash the SystemUI Base First. It provides the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work
(Do not reboot between selections as Magisk shows after flashing selections. Hit the back button to make your next selection)
3. Go through the other options selecting the mods you want. It is generally best to start at the top and work your way down.
4. Once finished with selections, flash "Complete Installation" at the top. This will install your selections as a Magisk module.
If you installed the color base version, once installed and working, go to settings/display/Device theme and reselect the QS/accent color you chose from installer menu.

If anyone needs more help, here are the steps that worked for me:
1) Make sure device is rooted.
2) Enable USB debugging from Developer options.
3) Plug device into PC.
4) Device should have Android launched and sitting at your home screen.
5) On your PC, open ADB from command prompt, and call "adb kill-server" and "adb start-server".
6) Open on TulsadiverModInstallerStock.bat.
7) Type 1 and press Enter. Select an option and press Enter again. You should see a quick flash of text, which indicates failure in this case. Look at your device and you should see an "Allow USB debugging" prompt, so accept this.
8) You should get a Superuser prompt at some point here on your device. If not, go to Magisk > Superuser and enable "Shell".
9) Retry step 7 and it will work this time. The app will take some time to generate the base file. You can ignore any errors that show up here, as long as the creation process continues.
10) Follow any intermediate steps you want. These will be very quick.
11) Complete the last step. This one will take some time.
12) Go to Magisk > Modules > Install from storage, and install the module that was just created (found in the /storage/ozod folder).
13) Reboot.
Hey, it seems very interresting !
2 quick questions. When using full screen gestures, does removing navbar/set height to 0 break things ?
And is it possible to add things like : Double tap to wake (instead of single) // Double tap to sleep on launcher and lockscreen. Thanx !
Unsure about double tap. In regards to navbar, I don't remove it to 0 dip, but to .5. That seems to eliminate breakage. That being said, I'm currently redoing this mod as I've found multiple bugs.
I've identified an issue that causes the navbar to scroll off-screen when the notification panel is shown. First I turn off my screen by pressing the Power button (but phone still kept unlocked by Smart Lock). This causes the issue to start. Then I select the Lockdown option to lock my phone, and this fixes the issue:
screen-20211101-082000[1]
Watch "screen-20211101-082000[1]" on Streamable.
streamable.com
This creates a problem for many apps that have content which is aligned to the bottom of the screen, as it resizes the app's content. It's especially problematic for list content, since the list scrolls up a bit when this happens and the scroll position stays that way:
screen-20211101-081102
Watch "screen-20211101-081102" on Streamable.
streamable.com
EDIT: Wait, is this a problem with stock Android 12 when not using gesture navigation? It still happens even when I disable the Magisk modules. It doesn't seem to be a situation I can even replicate in emulator.
February update has been uploaded.
A new ADB installer has been uploaded to update the "NavbarGone" option due to the 2nd generation February update. That is the only thing that needed updating. Another option would be to replace the "nav0" folder that is inside the "navbar" folder with the attached.

April update for 12.1 has been uploaded.
Used ADB install for RC/battpercentgoneswap and flashed waterfall28.zip separately. Working perfectly and very easy to install. Also works alongside HideNavBar and USNF. I was banging my head trying to stack the standalone mods.
Thank you for the great work, and thank you for being patient with users like me. So glad to have my battery and time looking the way I expect. You never know how much you miss something until it's gone. The mods really make it so much easier to glance that information.

Mods for April update will work on May update.
I uploaded the old firmware. There were some changes, apparently. Please hold off for a while.
The services.jar and SystemUI has changed. It's going to have to be updated.
June update has been uploaded.
June update working and easy install! Think you could incorporate waterfall28 into the ADB installer so it's a one-stop shop? Right now I have to reboot and flash them separately, which is fine. However, I have been using your mod for many months and intend to continue for even more. It would be a nice convenience.
