I have a samsung galaxy young s6312, stock android 4.1.2 jellybean, rooted. Since a few days I have been facing an issue with my battery. When i charge my phone, then remove it from charging, suppose at 78%, then the phone stays at 78% for about 1 hr or so, even if I use it extensively, and then the battery level begins to descend sharply, within the next half hour, it will be at 50%. this issue came up recently, is it a problem with my battery or is it a software issue??

I have faced a situation, I have never seen before. I'm running cm9 for some time now, on a p7500 16gb. Last night I turned the device off and the battery was at about 30%. Half an hour ago I tried to turn it on but the battery was drained. I connected to the charger and it showed an exclamation mark next to the battery and after 2-3 minutes started charging. It's running ok now but I want to ask whether you think my battery may be damaged somehow. I have callibrated my battery in the past and had uptime of about 9-10 hours of use. Really strange...

You may just need a new USB adapter/cable. Just in case , test by tweaking your UV/OV and OC settings.
Guys. Is anyone realise something wrong with 4.3 Jellybean (batter indicator)?
I dont what its calling this problem. Just let me explain. B4 upgrade to 4.3 Jellybean on yesterday (see today date), I was on 4.2 Jellybean. I got notice my battery indicator showing 59% left. After updated to 4.3 Jellybean, its showing 19% left.
I tought battery drain because of updating the sofware. After 2 hours, the indicator still showing 19% with wifi running without stamina mode (i used whatapss n weChat too). Im impressed with this big changes.
I get back home 1hours later, put on dock charger. Then its showing 29% after 3min charging. W#F ??
I shutdown my phone left over on charging. 1 hour later when get backc the indicator showing the battery has not fully charge. I boot up my phone and seeing the battery indicator is 100%.

Not so good for the battery, but let it completely drain, until it shuts down on its own.
Connect to charger and let it charge for good 4 hours.
Turn on device. Should be good.
It happened to me before. This solved it.

Thx 4 feedbck. I will try this.
It's perfectly normal. The 4.2.2 system reads the battery state to be at 59%. Moving to a different base (4.3), the system has no idea what level the battery is at, so it more or less guesses (which might be the reason why it was "stuck" at 19%). This will get "fixed" once you charge it again though, and this happens quite often when we flash custom ROMs.
Did same falling from 73% to 29% but now back up to 51% after a bit of charging so all well so far.

Ya I too faced same thing. I was at 68% but after updating 4.3 it went down to 31%.After then charged it to 100% for 3 hours and now it seems fine.
Hi,
I have problem with battery. When i charging it skips like from 40% to 80%. And when in use it drops from like 45% to 15% suddenly. I have replaced new battery and still same.
Andoid 4.1.2, sg2 i9100.
Ok so I have a galaxy s3 gt-i9300, which is about 20 months old, and it started to have this problem a month or so ago. The phone was running a kit Kat cyanogenmod rom, and it was draining the battery somewhat faster than the stock rom, and one day the screen started flickering at around 30% battery, which followed by the phone turning off itself. It can't be turned on until it's plugged in, and when I do so, the battery is at 0% charge, so I figured this was a battery problem and I replaced the battery for a new, original samsung battery. I thought this would make the trick. But I didn't, so my last thought was to return to stock software and this didn't solve the problem either. This always happens to me in every single charge at around 30%-40%. The rest of the charge lasts as long as expected, so the phone basically uses 60%-70% of a charge. I'm all ears for solutions to this and I also want to know what is causing it.
Try a battery from another phone, one that is known to be working correctly.
Else try a full wipe, including preload and internal sd, before you flash the latest stock rom for your country. Factory reset again in recovery after flash.
Hello,
I have Samsung Galaxy S3, rooted, running on CyanogenMod 11 M12 Snapshot (cm-11-20141115-SNAPSHOT-M12-i9300) and i have two main problems.
1) Firstly, I have a problem with battery. My battery is charging and discharging very fast. I had this problem also on TouchWiz, but I thought this was a problem with system. Now my phone is charging really quickly (40% in 15 min) and discharging in about 4 h of using. I tried calibrating the battery by charging it to 100%, then I restarted my phone to check is it alright and it was, so i calibrated it with a Battery Calibration app from Google Play. Then I used Fast Discharge (as recommended) and I checked to use processor. After 5% of battery (95%) my phones screen turned white, there were weird sounds (like old TV without signal) and then it restarted. Battery was 25%. Now I'm charging it again, unfortunately it's again charging so quick.
Is it a problem with my phone or battery? My phone still on warranty, so I can make full fix from this forum and give it to Samsung.
2) I also have a problem with speaker. When using my phone I can hear weird sounds from it (like above - like old TV without signal). What to do? Can You help me?
Please, help me

Check if you have a swollen battery
try a replacement battery, the weird sounds and screen issues could be from the battery not supplying enough current/voltage to the phone, hence also an issue why it cant calibrate well
