I need ur help guyz....when I connect my phone to my car dock via a usb only the songs in my internal card are read....the songs in my external card never get played ....I tried it on my swift i10 and on the honda city....I even tried mounting both my storages via twrp...but still only the internal card is read ......pls help

tell me if u can unmount external sd card in settings>storage..and a message is displayed that u can safely remove it.
or what happens is that u tap the unmount option...it says unmounting but it is still mounted...
tell me what happens..

im having some issues. cant write,take pictures etc to memory card. i tried formatting it via sonyx10 util and when i plug it in windows the files are still there. when i try to install xRecovery says no memory card is present. im left clueless! any help ?
Try another card in the phone. If it does not work, you might have faulty phone.
Restoring the stock ROM and firmware using SEUS would be my next step, before bringing it for a repair.

hi all i have been very annoyed with sonys attitude to getting the sd card mounting wrong even after speaking to them online and over the phone i got the same reply ... this is not a fault with sony this is something you will need to contact the app devs. unhappy with this i tried fixes found on the www all came up with the same problem it all works fine on the phone but not on pc so after a bit of work i think i have a solution
the vold.fstabs in the /etc needs to be tweaked as with all others on the net but this one works with the pc as well.
has been tested on my device if you replace it with the file attached (root access required ) after renaming original to .bak .
reboot device if you get sd error on reboot please delete and restore orginal and post your finding
please note i am not a dev i have some knowledge but just a hobbyist

I don't have any issue with my SD card on my phone, everything are working like it should i believe.
Could you please explain what kind of problem this is? The SD EXT card i believe is the extra memory card you insert into the phone. If so, i don't have any problem with that one.

this is a problem with all go and as far as i know all xperia 2012 phones where the internal memory is partitioned to system and user the user is then mounted as sd card meaning that after 4gb no more app data can be installed etc. this means that you SD CARD is unusable for apps and app data (apps2sd) will try to install to sd card but go to internal memory

if when you brought the fone you thort aaa a sd card slot then yes i feel its a must have i filled up my phone within about a hour

I did everything you said, but right after restarting, some apps (usbotg, media service etc) stopped working and some apps as well, I think they were in internal storage.
One thing, as you were saying, the ext_sd will be sdcard and the sdcard will be ext_sd?
[Xperia Go] are the mountpoints the same in JB?
If I switch my internal and external sd mountpoints using ICS, will a upgrade to JB using SUS overwrite the(modified) vfold.fstab?
Isuspect the upgrade will unroot the phone

I have a Micromax A116 handset, it a good phone and works great, but recently it has started showing a strange issue it shows damaged external sd card try formatting your hd card, i have tried all the steps for damaged hd card (chkdsk, reformat etc) i have tried around 15 microsd cards old and new but the issues remains the same for every card and each card works well on my PC and another mobiles too, i even tried to flash it for 2 times with 4.2.1 hoping of os bug but all in vain. i even visited the service center they said to keep the handset for 25 days to repair the handset which i cant do for now.
Is anyone else having similar issues or can anyone please help me to solve the issue.

I tries the same hundred time even completed chkdsk with /r and /f eveything.. but nothing worked. But the same sd is working in other phones. I dont know what the problem is. PLease help....!!!!

but buying a new sd card Nd using it ll solve the issue
so try buying a new card Nd try

Hey guys. I was downloading a pc game on my s5830i. Suddenly a message appear that the sd card was removed but it was still in the port. Now it shows no card inserted. What can i do? I have 8 gb sd. Any one plz help?

Try removing it, blow some wind on it and also blow wind in the port. The re-insert it. If it still shows an error, try formatting ur SD. If nothing helps, Google. And if notging THEN helps, get another SD.

may be try restarting your phone.. (it helped me )
or just insert your sd card in your laptop or pc and see if it is working or not..
if not then try to format your sd card via command prompt...that should repair your sd card if it is corrupted..
I have this 32gb external sdcard and i want to copy videos, mp3's and other files on it. i tried connecting my device to my pc and start to copy files to my phone's external sd (sdcard1), error displays "The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected". i also tried root explorer but error says "Copy failed".
I can transfer files to my device internal memory (sdcard) without problems but i don't want to put the files there because the storage might get full. I also tried sdcard fix from playstore but it won't do it.
btw, I have a rooted phone with dual recovery, fw 23.0.1.A.167. i hope someone can help me on this...
Try to format the sdcard in your phone, maybe it solve the problem

Type this commands in adb:
adb push example.mp3 /data/media/0/
And open file manager on your phone/tablet, move example.mp3 from sdcard to ext. sd

Me too faced the same problem a few days ago when i updated my phone to the same firmware, i tried everything but nothing worked, then after trying all the things which i found, i tried changing the card and it worked! Then i put my card in other phone, it didn't work there too!
Result: my card somehow became read-only! I could read the files which were already on it but i was not able to write or delete something. Got it replaced under warranty, everything is fine now.
