I have attached fascinate's live wallpapers.
The fascinate live wallpapers aren't found on any other variant(s) of samsung galaxy s including the vibrant.
push each individual APK to /system/app and also push lib to system/lib
you can push using root explorer or adb or any other file manager type of program
(root explorer is the best imo)
Again, not responsible if anything happens to your phone etc etc
ENJOY!!
No dice, didn't show up when I installed them.

Why does this need to be flashed? Do they overwrite the stock ones or something? Oh yeah, my phone came with the luminence one.
Thanks for the link, the Fascinate looks just like our phone! Ha, anyway I'm going to just adb push the files, seems easier than a recovery flash

No, it doesn't overwrite anything. You can open up the zip file and install the individual apk files, but you have to push the liblwfa-0.A.2-mng-p1.so file to your /system/lib/ directory before any of them will work.
wait.
where do i move the .zip to?
What I did was open up the zip file and went into the app folder and copied all the apk files over to my phone and installed them one by one. Work for me that way. BTW love the wallpapers!

I also would like to see some.
Ok so I tried flashing this, and the wallpapers didn't show up. So I tried copying the .so file to system/lib folder and installed each .apk individually, so now they show up, but force close when I try to use them.
Anyone have any idea how to get this working, cos it seems to me that out should be good one way or another now.
Thanks

Hi. My name is Jess, and I love my Vibrant. That is all.
Here are some screens I made. I think they're kinda "girly", but to each their own.

I have to agree with that statement sir.
theres plenty more Facinate live wallpapers that put the vibrant to shame.... can someone port from the facinate dump?

Jess, your problem is that the APKs need to be pushed into /system/app - you can't install them, they'll show up, but won't work. Try uninstalling them and push each file to /system/app.
just as rdauque says, push each individual apk to /system/app. DON'T INSTALL THEM OR FLASH.
also, some devices might need the lib to be push to system/lib.
you can use root explorer or adb to push these files.
works like a charm

Nothing wrong with girly wallpapers, some of us (admittedly nerdy) girls actually use android =)
Anyway, I really love the spark wallpaper, but honestly, I've always preferred purple over pink, so I colored the background for my liking.
Anyway, flash/push the original zip contents to your phone, or at least the .so file to /system/lib, then copy/push this to /system/app for my purple Spark mod.
Cheers,
=)

Just move the apk files using root explorer to system/app and it will appear in your live wallpaper files.

I don't have enough posts yet to post in the Development Forum, but I have a small question.
There are some .apks in the .zip file for DroidTh3ory's new M0N0LITHTH3ORY ROM that I'm not going to use like AndExplorer and Terminal Emulator, can I delete these, and there are also some .apks from another ROM I'd like to add.
Is it safe to do this?

You can delete those apks and add apks from something else, no problem. You will have to re-sign the zip before it becomes flashable again.
The easy way would be to flash monolith, and use something like titanium or root explorer to remove the system apps. To add apps to a running rom, you can drop the apk in /system/app, and change the permissions to match everything else. (XX_X__X__)
Thanks! I did it this way, Open both .Zips on my PC, delete the ones I don't want, and just click and drag from another ROM. I take it that's bad?

That's fine if you didn't extract them and zip them back up. I open the zips with winrar or 7zip and swap them that way with no problems, sometimes if your replacing an app delete the one you are replacing before you drag and drop the new/themed version.
If you completely unzip and re-zip the file will need to be resigned to be able to flash. The way you describe will work no problem.
Some people aren't sure how to create a flashable zip. So here is a template zip file.
Instructions add your APK files to the appropriate directory within the zip.
ie framework-res.apk would go in system/framework/
SystemUI.apk would go in system/app/
Vigor_VZW_bootanimation.zip would go in system/customize/resource/
*You may need to create directories within the zip*
lol nice idea i have never thought about making one for people I forget people dont know how
This could be very useful for people who are new to theming and from development and who are still learning how to sign zips.

And MrSmith, now I can try to get all the boot anims updated with flashables also so that everyone will have different options. Thanks!!

this is just a flashible zip only you will need to add your files to the right folders to make it theme
is there a list of the folders? for example what folders should i make to add ringtones to the ones that are already on my phone? how about notifications, wallpapers, etc.?

The three things you've listed are items that can be freely transferred via USB. This is more for theme elements and applications.
However to answer your question, stock ringtones and notifications are in /system/media/audio/ringtones and /system/media/audio/notifications . The stock wallpapers are stored in /system/customize/resource.

Mr. Smith,
So if I wanted to make a flashable zip of say the market apk or root explorer that I can keep on the root of my SD card so if for some reason the rom I flash is missing gapps. Would I just make a folder called data with a subfolder called app and then it would get installed in data app ? Then drop the apk within the app folder and resign using android signer ?
I just had that happen while trying to flash the anthrax kernel , for some reason I lost my market apk and since it was a fresh flash I had no access to a file explorer. So ended up googling the commands to adb push the market apk to system. It worked, but made me think if I had my own flashable market zip I could have just flashed that and been up and running easier .

You got it. As long as you get the structure down right, flashing the zip will drop the files in the proper directory on your phone/device.
What about file permissions and owner? How do we set that in the zip (eg. if I need to flash a file to /system that requires permissions 644, owner 0/0.

Android handles that. However you can edit the script : META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script to make whatever changes you need. So you could add a line: run_program("/sbin/busybox", "chmod", "644", "xxx_file");

You can put as many files in the 'app' or 'framework' folder and it will flash them all

I have had some people ask about how to use an aroma based rom with our safe strap recovery. I have attached a zip file to the post that contains the "meta-inf" folder that goes into the archive of your rom. In theory, this should work on any SM-9005 rom or T-Mobile rom.
Prerequisites: Root - Busy Box - Safe Strap Recovery
Choose your Rom Slot and prepare it before starting ( build the system.img and userdata.img ) Instructions are HERE
Wipe system and data from recovery. Data is optional. If you wipe date, you will have to change your APN settings, network mode, time and region settings,etc....
1. Open your "Rom".zip with 7zip. Do not extract, only open!
2. Delete the "meta-inf" folder from the archive.
3. Take any apps in the aroma (maybe called something different i.e. xnote) folder that you want to keep and move them to the system/app folder in the archive.
4. Delete aroma folder from archive when finished.
5 extract the attached zip that contains the new "meta-inf" folder. File is here The extracted zip folder is named the same as the folder within the zip. You need the folder "meta-inf" folder INSIDE the zip, not the extracted folder that was just created. I know this is confusing!
6. Copy this folder to the rom with 7zip.
7. You should now only have 2 folders ( system and meta-inf ) inside the archive. Close archive and copy to phone to flash.
8. Download this file to phone. This is the second file to flash. It fixes all current issues in one package.
9. Flash Rom.zip first and then flash file from step 8. No need to reboot between flashes.
10. Reboot and let rom load.
Everything I have tested now works including NFC, WiFi, BT, All SPen functions including snote, screen write, and action memo. Bluetooth Tethering with Gear is working. Also corrected the music bug and Video chat on hangouts. By not wiping data, proper APNs are saved. If you need to wipe due to problems, you will need to load your APN settings manually.

When you're done you will have only the meta-inf folder from this post and the system folder. The xnote folder is for aroma. You will need to take what you want out of there and move to the system/app folder.

Try this, when you pull your pen out - it shows the little pie menu for things you can do. The first one is the action memo thing I believe.
Make the note come up and write a number down. Then click on the action button, "the one that selects whatever you wrote" then try to message that to a contact, If your Spen apps are working, you wont get stuck on "Recognizing" forever..Does that work for you?

Installing Xnote 6.0
Here is how i installed Xnote 6.0 using SS by @Hashcode
Make a back up of stock rom before starting. These files will be flashed to the stock rom partition.
I recommend starting from a fresh odin with root and safe strap installed.
Wipe system from recovery but do not wipe data. this will retain your APN settings, etc....
1. Open your Xnote6.0.zip with 7zip. Do not extract, only open!
2. Delete the "meta-inf" folder from the archive.
3. Take any apps in the aroma (maybe called something different ie: xnote) folder that you want to keep and move them to the system/app folder in the archive.
4. delete aroma folder,It is called Xnote.
5 extract the attached zip that contains the new "meta-inf" folder. File is here
6. Copy this folder to the rom with 7zip.
7. Open system/VODB and copy the folder "en_US" from this zip file.
8. Close archive and copy to phone to flash.
9 Download this file to phone. This is the second file to flash.
10. Flash Xnoterom.zip and then flash file from step 9. no need to reboot between flashes.
11. Reboot and let rom load. go to xnote settings and then to update and download the fix for music and games from the dropbox link in the update app.
12. reboot and go to safestrap recovery. Install the downloaded fix file.
Reboot and profit!
Dont think i missed any steps, if something is not right, please let me know!

No problem, if something is not working right just let me know and i will troubleshoot it for you. Ive been through it a couple times and seems pretty stable for me. Flashing to the stock rom partition is the way i always did it in the past on every other device, so just back up and flash away as far as i am concerned.

Hey everyone I decided to take the smooth scrolling mod to the next level. I was reading @zephiK didn't have the time to update the mod for every update that comes out. So I decided to get back in the game a little and completely automate the process so now you guys as users can do the "heavy" lifting (heavy in quotes since it's really an automated process for the most part lol). It basically pulls your framework.jar from your currently running ROM, modifies it, and pushes it back to your device. It should work on any ROM that doesn't have a different AbsListView.smali from the one I use (aside from the smooth scrolling parts, that's fine). If there's more demand for this (or I get locked out of my dropbox because of too many downloads) then I'll throw it up on my site instead. Until then, enjoy! Only supported on Windows. If anyone wants to make a linux/mac version, feel free to.
BE SURE TO ALWAYS BACKUP JUST IN CASE!
If you try this on another ROM and it doesn't work because the AbsListView is different somehow, let me know and I will make other versions to support other ROMs
DOWNLOAD
adb pull's your framework.jar from the currently running ROM.
Sets up a couple of folders for use later when putting the files back into a .jar.
Uses a jar command to extract all of the contents of the jar file.
Runs the baksmali code (with a small edit to remove the pause).
Copies the AbsListView.smali to the baksmali'd area.
Copies the android folder in "decompiled" into "smali-me".
Runs the smali code (again, with a small edit).
Deletes classes.dex and framework.jar in the root folder.
Renames modded-classes.dex to classes.dex.
Moves classes.dex, META-INF, and preloaded classes into the Temp folder.
Creates a new framework.jar file from what's provided in the Temp folder.
Moves that file back into the root directory.
Cleans up most of the folders/files.
Pushes the new framework.jar to your device, sets permissions, and reboots.
Finally it removes the framework.jar in the root directory to finish the clean up process.
Changelog:
10-5-14
Initial release
10-6-14
Added option to work with a zip file.
Reworked the initial batch file to allow for more automation (took out some pauses) and now has a menu to select your option.
Added a changelog.
Updated the Cleanup.bat to account for the new folder created when using the zip method.
Confirmed working ROMs:
SlimSaber by fusionjack
Sabermod cm11 by Robbie

That would be nice Thx. I would prefer to do it all on my PC and push file over or put in a zip if I do it for others

I'll get to work on it. Got a midterm today, so may not get it done
@prsterero It works. However:
It has to be placed on desktop.
I had to change JDK folder name in the script to jdk1.8.0_20 as I have a never version installed.
Oh nevermind, the readme...

Give it a shot now. The link is in the OP. I ran through it and it seems to work correctly, but I can't flash the zip to test it out. Let me know if you have any issues

Now confirmed working with Robbie's sabermod cm11
Confirmed not working for me on cm-11-20141216-NIGHTLY-bacon :/
The modified ROM is able to boot, but every app that uses the new AbsListView immediately crashes (this even include the power menu, I had to hard reboot my phone !). I have Xposed installed and running with modules such as ForceFastScroll that might interfer with the mod... This needs further testing!
Anyway, great job mate!
I need this and the link is down what's up with it
