When you tick repartition in ODIN, using a .pit file, it is supposed to wipe your whole internal SD card right? When I tick repartition, it doesnt do anything except flash the .tar i choose.
I want a blank slate to restart my Vibrant on.
EDIT: I have also tried the method posted in the bionix final version, which didnt work. HOWEVER, the first time I did it, it repartitioned, and wiped everything off my internal SD card.
I used ODIN to go back to stock but directories that were created before by various apps are all still there. My question is:
I want for my phone to go back to exactly the way it was when I first got it. I have the ODIN pit and tar files for stock eclair. But is there an option in ODIN to select to make sure that everything is wiped before installing stock??? I see all these directories (like sipdroid and some music directories that were created by winamp, and I'm sure others as well) even after I ODIN back to stock so clearly ODIN does not wipe the memory before installing the tar file. Is there a way to make sure the memory gets wiped before installing the stock tar file???
Thanks in advance guys.

good stuff... thanks
Guys just one small question..
I think i have messed up my phone a bit..so i wanna go back to stock firmware..I dont wanna delete my internal storage..so basically am not gonna do a factory reset( coz i have heard it deletes the internal sd as well)
So i am basically gonna reboot into CWM recovery..do a full wipe etc..
now the question is what should i do? i have the zip file from sammobile for my stock firmware..
Now can i flash that stock firmware directly through CWM? or the firmware downloaded from samsung mobile can only be flashed via odin? If yes, then what other options do i have coz i dont wanna use odin to flash...
thanks
Depending on the version that you download, it could be wipe/non wipe version. Also, by checking the content inside the zip file, if it is a .tar or .tar.md5, you can only use odin to flash those files. If the content are META-INF + system folder, probably contain boot.img, it can be flash from CWM recovery.
Wipe data/factoy reset don't format your internal sd partition, so you won't lost your files. However .android-secure in external sd will be deleted, so take note on this
im asking about the internal factory reset of the phone..settings->backup->factory reset..It does delete your internal sd card data too, right?
and yeh i would love to get the cwm version of my stock rom I9100XWLP7..any idea where i can get it? Still downloading the firmware from sammobile..but i think it will be the odin one only..
thanks
Stock ROMS to flash via recovery

Hi I've factory reset and flashed via odin numerous times. I still have my photos music on my sd card. Usually safe when flashing via pda in odin in terms of wiping. Data is wiped when flashing the CSC partition.

thanks for reply but the problem occours with the INTERNAL sd card lol
Use hard reset service code to wipe all including internal sdcard.

Use it only if you know what you are doing

I'm having this same problem. I just tried installing Resurrection Remix, and it crashed, and now it seems like the internal SDcard is not functioning. I cannot boot. I can get into CWM or d/l mode though. In recovery, it will mount the external sd fine, but can't mount the internal sd, it skips formatting it every time because it can't mount. I tried installing Siyah kernel though ODIN, but it fails everytime after loading the boot. I tried re formatting partition in ODIN, but again, it fails. I tried reinstalling different ROMS off of the external SD card, but all they do is quickly show the boot flash, and then go straight to a black screen.

my problem is different from yours, because I use the terminal without any problems (excluding this, of course) I think that your internal sd is broken. I'm sorry
Go to "check-rom" thread then go to their base rom download page and Odin resurrection version and flash that..
IF this doesn't solve your problem, then go to samfirmware.com and download a 3(4 with pit file) file stock rom and flash this, first with pit file and the 3 files and see if this solves your problem.
IF that didn't work either then try with repartition ticked(at your own risk) but be sure to know how to flash properly with Odin and repartition, so search and read as much as u can on how to use Odin..
PS..always do a factory wipe before flashing to get a clean install,u can always restore stuff using titanium backup
Use repartition as a last resort and remember to include pit file when repatitioning
the error log from cwm is this
can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
today i'm very tired i try to find a solution tomorrow thanks guys
Hello all
Can you give me a download to a pit file for odin (my device running stock 4.1.2)?
Does this pit file would fix my phone? (im in kind of a brick)
Thanks
Hi
What have you done before the brick? If it is a MMC Erase Brick because a Wipe Factory Reset in a suceptible kernel, maybe I can help you. But in this case you need to run two tools in CWM Recovery to find out where exactly the internal SD was damaged, and then, use a modified .pit to create the partitions in a whay that the damaged part is 'jumped'
Until there, I uploaded the stock .pit for a 4.1.2 for an internal SD card of 16 gb
