Hi, I got a serious problem with busybox, I use stericson installer as that is whats recomended by xda - installation goes fine as you can see on attached screenshots,* but after reboot busybox is reverted to the old version, and I can start over installing again. I tried to install to /system/bin instead, but it didn't help.
I even mounted system as r/w to see if that was the problem, it didn't help.
I have got an unknown MINAMI Allwinner A20 1.2Ghz dualcore tablet with 1Gb ddr3 Ram, 8Gb rom, 7" display with 1024*600', HDMI, Micro USB OTG host, dual cam, wi-fi, power and back buttons, vol+/- soft buttons, stock recovery (3e), jellybean 4.2.2, pre-rooted from factory.
I have no idea if the bootloader is unlocked or not, as I can't seem to find any expert that can tell me how to find out. And believe me, I have searched for that all over the net and in several different forums.
So, I'm asking if you can help me getting busybox to stick to the new version 1.22.1?
With kind regards
JBJ
ps. should I revert system to r/o or is it ok to leave as r/w - what is the pros/cons?

I bought it at dealextreme. sku104916
You can see it at wopadusa.com store
I rooted it , confirmed via rootcheck, modified the build.prop to make it appear as a nexus s. All went good for many days...
I realised a few days ago that my tablet was unable to PERMANENTLY install an apps... or install a new one... Or change internal parameters or flash it(wallpaper won't be different after flashing)
In fact the weirder part is that the change appear as being applied but when it reboot, it returns to the same state (uninstalled apps still appear as installed) . The tablet indicate it's low on disk space , I uninstalled most application I could but it won't go away since the apps still appear as installed after a reboot.
I tried to flash it. The apps to flash it via Win7 confirmed the flash was successful... but I didn't notice any change. I flashed it with Zixoon and wopadusa and it didn't change anything. I tried different apps to flash it including those: chinadigitalcomm.com/flashtool-packtool-for-m8-incl-latest-1028-firmware-v3-0-update-23-11-2011-t11091
I'm not sure when the problem appeared... I believe it's after I followed the following procedure: ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6 unofficial port v1.0 alpha by mikeNG chinadigitalcomm.com/post23360. .
Because when i tried to enter in recovery mode the screen became ''fuzzy'' unreadable... but I confirm i was able to select the menu at that moment. Maybe i did something wrong. And I dont' know how to undo the change.
I believe it may be related to read/write/chown permission via adb... I dont' know.
I may have to correct via adb shell chmod ?SOMETHING? /system / at different place of the filesystem but I don't know what and where to look for...
I'm not very teck savvy. But I have good will. Please help me.
I don't want to send the tablet back to china. I use it to study. I really like android.
BONUS: By any chance, can someone tell me where to buy the power adapter for that tablet ? It doesn't recharge via USB and my actual charger have a shortcut and this adapter have a very RARE tiny pin connector, slightly larger than some nokia. it's 5v 2amps.
English isn't my first language but I believe I amde myself understandable. I'll clarify anything i'm able to.
Thanks.
I can't post outside links in my message as per forum rules. After approximately eight posts, I'll be able to post outside links. Thanks for understanding!
Hi all,
I need your help with the following tablet 9" GT90H with Allview A23 CPU/ chipset and android 4.2. I want to backup the ROM, to perform few modifications and to upload the modified image to the tablet, but I am stuck on the first phase (cannot dump the rom).
I tried several ways to do it (actually that I found) to dump/ backup the stock ROM but I was stuck on all of them. First I tried using the clockwork way, but unfortunately my tablet is not supported (and I could not find supported MOD). Then I tried with romdump, but unfortunately I was stuck because the tablet does not have /proc/mnt file. Finally I found a way using the rkdump method but I had non recognize image error (although I am not sure if I found the correct partition to back up - /dev/block/by-name/recovery ). I have doubts if this is the correct partition, because I did a binary copy using dd to a file, which ended up with size around 32 MB (which I found too small for a recovery image).
So that is why I decided to seek help from more advance users (this is my first tablet, and first android experience) and I believe this forum is the right place for that.
My first request is could someone guide how to make a proper ROM backup, that I would be able to restore later?
In addition I want to ask is it possible, once I backed up the ROM, to modify for example the home page (because on the current ROM the home page for all browsers that I install is http://www.baidu.com)?
Moreover I would like to to install the ROM on external memory card and to run the tablet from there (because the internal memory of this table is too low - 8GB but for the system partition I have only 500 mb, which are all occupied with pre installed software). Is this something that I can achieve (android as far as I know is *unix system, and in theory this should be possible)?
Thank you in advance.
For increase space you can use Terminal Emulator for market and must have root on tablet.
Open terminal , and run the commands :
pm get-install-location (this will show you where apps are installing in this moment)
Auto device install is 0 (the tablet chose auto where to install apps, usuale is chosing to internal memory, your 500mb )
internal memory is 1 (Tablet memory - your 500mb )
External memory is 2 this is where you want to instal apps - (your 8GB )
After run the comand and see the sistem is set to AUTO (0) you will run this :
pm set-install-location 2 - This will force apps to instal in your 8gb
to check if is ok , run again : pm-get-install-location
exit terminal emulator
Good luck ! Hope it help you
Problem with my GT90H
Hey Guys,
I have a Problem with my GT90H. It stops to boot at the screen: Tablet PC - Keep Moving Forward.
If i go in the recovery mode. I can reboot the system, but it stops at the same screen like I explained in my first sentence.
The Factory Reset doesn't work. So I read in some communitys that Tablets can be flashed with a new ROM (Android System) over the USB Port from the Computer.
So can anybody send me the Android 4.2.2 Image for my GT90H ?
It's very important. So thanks.
Thanks for your help.

My problem is I've accidentialy deleted my /system/app/* and /data/app* files trying to free some space / I wanted to copy it on extsd card with X-plore app but it didn't work out for me I've copied the files above the number of the sdcard and they're gone / don't do this it's dangerous, and I've lost all of them. And my tablet started with the errors and stuff and I wanted to throw it off the window, than I settled down for a bit.And before a week or so I've started looking for 4.0.4 roms compatitable system apps for my rom, I've tried maybe 40 roms by now /I download the rom / extract the /system/app, and /data/app folder and try to run the tablet, but it didn't work out. I managed to run it with modacocustomrom reading one of xda threads but it started throwing exceptions. Then I've started deleting one by one system apps and I've come to the conclusion that the system could run only with 3 apk's - launcher, settings and settings storage. It started but it is not the same and I've lost all my preffs and stuff.
Please if someone have C12R1 send me /system/app/ and /data/app files. for 4.0.4 android
Appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
And could you tell me how to unpack this rom (WooComet-MiOptimusOne.com -ICS_4.0.4- F1中性-20120920.1.0.3-A721_V4.2.img) from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925577 without the device connected to pc and this program: LiveSuit.exe. I've tryed with dd in linux on flash and with mounting img in linux but it coudn't work out why?
I've tried to unpack the img with ext4 unpacker and ext2 explorer too but it couldn't work out.
please help!
Ok guys I managed to do this, I've made the last step /flashing the rom (I wanted just to copy the system files in internal memory in /system/app and /data/app but couldn't find it anywhere), I did'nt wanted to do it this way but I've done it cause it wasn't anything else left to try after long sleepless nights
I've installed a new stock rom sun4i_crane_t02a.img and android launched but now I have another significant problem - I dont have a proper driver and my touch screen does not work.
And my android's usb debugging is not with turned on and I cant use adb or so....
Any ideas?
Please if someone have this touch screen drivers or stock or other rom that works on this device please send it to me!
This is the exact device:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2-Di...92768377.html&cv=11032041&af=cj_6149808&vd=30
but I cant find roms anywhere for it
Hi Razer69
I see you still have problems with your device.
Well before i wend on a Rom hunt i have managed to install CWM recovery on mine and make a backup of the stock rom, in order to test various roms, and if they do not work i restore the stock.
If you want i can create a link for you so you can download it and install it. Bare in mind though i have made some mods prior to the stock rom so it worked a bit better that when it arrived.
Did also find a link for your issue with the touch screen ----> http://www.pandawillforum.com/archive/index.php?t-12129.html
Cheers
G
Could you share how did you managed to install custom rom - clockworks - CWM because that is my problem now.
I can't install the rom because I've flashed my device - all partitions - kernel, recovery, rom - with LiveSuite and .img file but eventually
I found out this rom is not for my device - the rom I've installed is C12 not C12r1, and I'm still looking for C12r1.
Thank you for your answer
I've come to the conclusion I'ts wrong rom that's why the touch screen is not working.
This guys are writing the same here:

"sun4i_crane_t02a.img is not work with FT5306DE4 Chipset,is wrong point of touch screen"
Today I'll try their methods
thanks
I have bought new Bauhn tablet AT-HK97.
I tried lot to find method to root it.
It does not have volume Button, and drivers are also not available.
Specifications:
Rockchip 3188T
Cortex-A9
Quad Core
1.4 GHz
Android 4.2 .2 Jellybean
I want to root it because, ts system storage is of 1GB , which is not enough for me. And internal storage of 16 GB, it tried lot to install apps in 16GB storage but all fail.
Any resolution for this yet? I have the same problem
Rooted but not Bricked
Hi there those interested. I have been procrastinating due to illness but I have located an update image and loaded it onto my external SD card. After installing Kingroot which gave me access to the root directory, and a file manager which could manipulate root, I moved the update IMG to the root. Howerever, when I rebooted, it seems the r/w reverted to r/o and caused an error. Subsequent attempts to run the update removes the .IMG file from the root before it can suggest the upgrade. I suspect the culprit is Kingroot which knows that an upgrade will uninstall it. I have reset to factory data and was able to disable Kingroot but it still hangs in there waiting.
Amazingly, the unwanted .IMG file has been moved to the inaccessible internal storage.
My next option is to try a rooting method that doesn't take over my system. Any suggestions?
There options for removing Kingroot but they seem to just replace it with similar monsters.
Also, 'root genius' is a method which is used from a PC. Has anyone any experience with this?
I guess the device is rushing on to 3 years old and any owners and users may have moved on to later androids.
However, I find the device still quite useable for my old eyes. I just wish I did not need to clear out data to download app updates.
Any help would be appreciated
Bought a quad core Onda clone tablet (AOC Leopard hardware designation) from China - yes i know, i know, it was a bad idea but the spec was so good i thought it might get me into the tablet fun everyone seems to be having - i repair em but dont really have a lot of knowledge on the software side of things for hacking these things - although after the last two weeks of hacking the thing I am becoming a bit of an expert.
Here is a link to the same one albeit with a different manufacturer made up name - as you can see the spec (Quad core, 1Gb ram, 16Gb storage and hdmi) is amazing for the price of £42 I won it for at the auction so it was more of a plaything to learn on than a big purchase for me.
I am pretty good with Linux so be as technical as you need to be.
Basically the thing buggered up when my mate plugged in the wrong power supply and thankfully it still booted albeit with the OS or bootloader I suspect corrupted.
It is stuck on the Onda loading screen leading to my assumption that it is in a boot loop.
I have spent the last two weeks trying to find drivers for windows , a compatible os and a way to get it restored - ahh the perils of buying chinese!!!
Problem I have now is that the sdcard slot is completely snafu due to my careless and fat fingered fiddling and to be honest a slight bit of temper with the thing after two weeks of head scratching - do you blame me!!!
I have managed to get it recognised by windows by trying driver after driver on the internet until i found one that worked - the perils of buying a no name chinese clone are myriad.
Without the sdcard slot the problem is now worse as i have to use the usb slot connected to the pc and sideload the apps and os but thankfully that is sorted now - Have installed the Android development Bridge - SDK toolkit and adb devices linux command was coming up with no devices but i figured it out with a lot of fiddling with the android ini file in the user profile and the dev id in system device drivers in case anyone else is trying to figure that one out - its a very obscure fix but it works.
So all is swoopy and seemed to be going well until i got the same error i was getting with the sdcard when i tried to sideload a new os - sideloads the new "update.zip" perfectly and even passes the file verification but crashes out with the fatal "unexpected error" have tried Onda official zips and Cyanogenmod flashes but i reckon the problem is because the system is not rooted and doesnt have the cyanogen bootloader installed even though i rooted it with supersu before it went up the khyber so in essence I need root to get the new os on and yes "shell su" command doesnt work as the device is only in sideload mode - only option on the 3e emergency recovery mode on the tablet is either reload from usb , sideload from usb as well as the usual clear cache, reset system and clear user data.
I should add that the hardware isnt snafu as I can see my old files and the operating system on the flash drive when i use recovery mode (power button / up volume combo) - load from sdcard option when i choose browse to sdcard - Linux always mounts the onboard flash as sdcard and an external sdcard as ext-sdcard on a tablet or smartphone - so i can select sdcard and then browse the main flash storage where i can see all my movies , development programs apk's and the Linux system itself but obviously cannot do anything else other than browse the thing for a ZIP to upload onto the \temp which is then extracted by the Emegency recovery environment - checked for verification - it then seems to prepare to install but fails with as you say the usual "unknown error" which i only assume is because I dont have root i cant go any further.
Oneclick root doesnt work.
Also tried the pad product tool v1.05 for direct flash to the tablet using Ainol Novo 10 Captain firmware and it wont even work.
Flashboot adb doesnt work.
Rockchip android tool doesnt work.
Kinda running out of ideas now!!!
Ok ok so what i need to know is basically - Does anyone know if it is possible to root and install a new bootloader from the usb sideloader - ie Adb sideload "filename".
And yes i have tried the pinhole reset button on the back of the tablet and the wipe system and reload option in the recovery menu so hopefully there are some good techies on here who know how to su the bootloader and reload the os or if it is even possible!!!
