[Q] LG L9 P769/MS769 soft brick help~!!!! - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Hey everyone,
I know there are countless threads on this but I've been up all night going through pages and pages of info and trying virtually everything that each post said to no avail, so I thought I'd just make a new thread and see if anyone can help me.
Okay, so, I had a rooted L9, with locked bootloader, on stock JB before I started any of this. Yesterday, I decided that I wanted to put Cyanogenmod 11 on it, yet, I have only managed to soft brick it.
Basically, it's stuck at the Security Error screen. I can get it into the S/W upgrade mode, however, when I do that and open the LG support tool the program just crashes. The Windows "not responding" error pops up, and the program closes. I have no idea why this is happening now, because the program was working fine before, but anyways, yeah. I have the shttps thing running in the background, and the connection is successful. I tried doing the offline fix countless times, but no luck. I have the UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe file, too, that I've been trying to use, however, as you all know, it just opens the lg program when you click on "upgrade start" and the program crashes. I tried doing the software upgrade through the exe file, but it doesn't find the port. Device Manager tells me the L9 is on port 9, but it looks on port 1 or 0, and doesn't find the L9.
I think that's basically it, and, if anyone can help me at all it would be very much appreciated (I don't really want to have to buy a new phone!)

If it is a security error than I think it would be easier to fix it from omap4boot mode with unofficial fastboot. Its a thread in this forum.

[Q] Could anyone help me unbrick my Optimus L9 LG-P760?

Hello everyone,
I've searched everywhere I can think of to figure out how to solve my problem, and I assume the answer is hiding in an obscure part of an earlier thread on these fora. I was able to root my L9 P760 running Android 4.1(Jelly Bean) and from there naively assumed I could flash the recovery using ClockworkMod. After rebooting I've been getting the infamous "Security Error" screen. I've been able to get the "S/W Upgrade" screen, but that's as far as I got. I believe this means the bootloader is locked.
I followed a lot of instructions I found including using fastboot via omap4boot(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119090) and the offline kdz flash(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344), but without luck. Fastboot would cause the phone to reboot, losing the "S/W Upgrade" screen and the kdz method would stall at 4%, leading me to find out that the phone needs to be in the "LG Update" USB mode, which I can't achieve because it won't boot.
I have two Macs running OS X 10.7 which can dual-boot into Windows 7. All software is up to date. I have experience using the command-line.
I hope there's a solution to this, and I hope that posting this here can help others avoid this problem in future.
Thanks in advance,
Pieter
Edit: I finally managed to flash a stock version of recovery, the x-loader and u-boot for Jelly Bean using the fastboot script from here. For those in a similar situation, I set the driver for the OMAP4xxx device which goes under TI devices(or something like that) and then I had to set the driver for a device called LG P4(or something, I didn't take a screenshot). I was then able to use the stock LG Mobile Support Tool, via the "Recovery Phone" option, to restore the newest version. However, it still won't boot properly. I get the LG logo when turning it on, and then the animation with the LG logo with the shiny effect on the smiley face keeps running in a loop. Is this the boot loop problem I've seen people asking about? How do I access recovery(and would that accomplish anything)? Any help would be appreciated.
Edit 2: I think I fixed it! I'm just documenting what I did to be helpful to other people. I had tried to do a hard reset earlier, but it didn't work. I tried it just now, and it worked, I got an droid with a progress bar underneath. Then it booted, and I heard the startup sound which I didn't know I was missing. I would still like to know in detail what I did wrong, and what I did right, and why it was right. Thanks in advance.
Simple, you probably did nothing wrong. Things just happen. I had this happen to me once. Security Error
However, I didn't install a custom rom or recovery img. All I did was flash a different kdz version (for my device). So my guess is that the boot img or other img, got corrupted.
I fixed my issue by flashing x, u, boot, recovery all in fastboot. Then I ran the flash update program again and it worked

How do you brick your phone. Did you try to hard reset it? Did you try offline flash or LG mobile support tool to recover your phone?

[Q] Lg-P769 error

Well i have been looking all over for help with my phone. I have figured out that i tried to flash a rom without unlocking my bootloader. Well im running windows 8.1 and for some reason i couldnt get my computer to recognize the phone at all. After using 3 or 4 different guides i gave up for a few days so not to get too aggrivated. I mean its my own fault but my back up phone sucks lol. So i borrowed my wifes laptop running win 7. I Followed this guide androidforums.com/optimus-l9-all-things-root/807569-guide-security-error-fix.html. For the first time since i started trying to solve my issue everything seemed to work got the s/w screen to appear in reverse and using the cmd prompt that says wiating for device then starting the .bat file from the download it says on the bat cmd prompt that everything worked. well at the bottom its says done then comes up with C:\fastboot\yours. i have been browsing google but i havent been able to find what i am supossed to do with the yours file. i tried putting a kdz file into the file location and running it from that but no luck. after a few min the phone auto reboots and comes back with the security error screen and not the backwards one. i have tried doing the hard reset at the point but no luck. if someone could please help with what i need to do with the fastboot/yours area that would be awesome. Or at least point me in the right direction cuz google isnt wanting to be my friend with the searches.

help
Well i have tried several times now with using my wifes windows 7 laptop. i can get everything to work with the screen coming up backwards and in the command prompts it says that the fastboot is done then loads the command fastboot/yours which with the file i downloaded that file was empty. really unsure on what i need to do at this point. from the guides i have read it seems that im at like a step or 2 from getting the phone to work but after 30 seconds while still plugged in it reboots and loads the secruity error screen. from what i have read i should be able to do a factory reset by holding the volume and home button and then pressing the power for 3 seconds but it just reboots into the error. any help would be much appreciated i really dont want to have to buy a new phone.
Seems like that guide is more for when flashing a recovery on the locked bootloader and things go wrong. It was suggested a few posts down on the first page of that guide that if your problem happened when you were trying to flash a rom you might want to follow this : http://androidforums.com/optimus-l9-all-things-root/792689-guide-unbrick-manual-update-updated.html or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344 (the xda one seems more complete) .
sigh
Well im still stuck on the security error screen. i got the phone to boot into the backwards fastboot screen 1 time and cant remember how to do it again. i can boot into the s/w upgrade mode. if i go to use the lg support tool being that im in the united stats my options is upgrade recovery or help. well if i go to upgrade recovery im told that my phone has the latest upgrade already. if i try and use the moduptest that come in a lot of the unbricking guides it makes me turn the internet back on even with having hte shttps and everything else that is listed in the various folders. i only have the omap44 on my device manager 1 time but there is also 2 lg mobile modems. im thinking my issue lies with the fact thta i dont have the adb file for the device manager. i have donwloaded and uninstalled various times but still no luck. i dont remeber how i got the phone to the backwards fastboot but i remember i was following a guide and the op had to open one file and while that one was stuck on "waiting for device" he opened another one becasue that was the only way he could get it to connect. Any help would be awesome. not trying to rely on everyone else but after several weeks trial and error im at my wits end with it.
thanks

[Q] Lg Optimus L9 soft brick

Hey, so I've looked through these forums, as well as google search, with every combination of words i could think of to address my issue, and so far nothing has worked. So im posting here, hoping y'all can help me.
My phone is the Lg optimus L9 p769 running FW v20h. I had it rooted, bootstrapped cwm recovery is installed and still accessible. Unfortunately for me, i had disabled usb debugging off. Cant remember why, but I did.
I was browsing around for build.prop tweaks, found a good list, and implemented a few. After reboot, everything was going smoothly, hell, faster and smoother than before, which i assume came from tweaking the build.prop. At that point, i chose to implement 1 more and be done. So i added the line and rebooted my phone. SOFT BRICK!!!!!
Now, as i said, ive done quite a bit of searching for a fix, including the offline fix and basic LG Support Tool restoration, but nothing is working. Offline fix says my phone is not connected. Online recovery says im already at the most recent FW available. Ive tried fastboot, but installing the u boot and x loader wont work. CMD doesnt recognize my phone when i try anything adb related (obviously, because usb debugging isnt enabled), nor does it recognize my phone as a fastboot device even with the phone displaying the mirrored logo and says fastboot v0.5 in the top right corner. Also, the bootstrap CWM wont mount my external SD, which has my build.prop backup on it.
So, basically, that what I've read into. A wall, so to speak. As a side note, my wife has the same phone with an unmodified build.prop. in fact, the only thing that i have done to hers is root it with the LGpwn app.
Now, is there anything i can do with this, other than throwing it against the pavement outside? While i think I'd get a sick satisfaction from that, it hardly solves my problem. Also, i called LG directly, but they won't help me at all without payment. Even with their CS rep saying it was their fault (because, of course, I'm not dumb enough to tell them I broke it by messing with the build.prop). However, the slight bit they did do remotely through the laptop had them going through the LG Service Tool.
Anyway, that's about it. It really is a great phone and i really would like to repair, rather than replace, it, but im stuck. Anyone got any ideas?
Hello,
I had a similar problem, offline method didnt worked for me saying that my device is not connected. Then I faund this tool on forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
Use it with described tutorial (use 3GQCT and DIAG) and you are going to unbrick your phone.
Ok, I'll give it a try when i have access to the neighbors laptop again. I'll post the results here. Fingers crossed, my phone is up and running again soon and I'll be able to post my results from my unbricked phone.
IT WORKED!!!!!
Holy hell, it worked! A week of searching and trying with no success, now my phone is up and running again! Thank you sooooooooooooo much! Can i get a solved tag?
You're welcome. I'm glad I could help

Bricked D618 stuck on 4% with LG Flash Tool - Please advise?

If anyone can advise me here I will be very grateful. I have spent several days looking online and reading countless threads here but am still not having any joy. Am a bit of a noob so go easy on me please!
I have a rooted LG D618 running Lollipop (recently upgraded itself from Kitkat). Long story short, I was fiddling around with the bootloader trying to install a custom recovery (ahem... ) and I ended up bricking the phone. I have been trying since then to install the original firmware using LG Flash Tool 2014 and it always stops on the 4% mark whilst extracting the kdz. I have tried this about a hundred times and the same thing happens every time. The phone is completely dead, I can not switch it on and I am unable to boot it into Factory Reset mode using the keys either. But it is still being recognized by the PC (win7 x64) and can enter (what I assume is) download mode. However in Windows the phone is recognized as removable disk containing 2 folders - 'image' and 'verinfo'. Not sure if that is normal or not? I am able to start the kdz flashing process and it goes through the first couple of steps verifying connectivity etc and then stops at the aforementioned 4% during the file extraction process, sticks for a while, and then gives me an error message.
I tried a solution which I found on the forum here, which I think was for the same issue, involving the wx.dll file in C/ProgramData/LGMOBILEAX/phone but this has no effect. I thought it might be related to me installing the KitKat kdx (v10c) onto the phone but I have since tried flashing the stock Lollipop variant (v20b) also and the exact same thing happens so am guessing it is not because of the KitKat wx.dll file causing issues. I am pretty clueless here, all of this is unchartered territory for me and I am out of my depth so if any kind soul here can advise me on any possible solution I am willing to try anything before admitting defeat, and taking the phone to LG to fix under warranty and hoping they don't realize that I broke it.

Please Help, secure booting error lg optimus f3 LG MS659

I keep getting a message on the LG startup screen, that says,
"secure booting error
cause: boot certification verify"
My phone was rooted using king root almost 6 months ago, and I had no problems with it. Until around a month ago, it started getting real slow and apps would randomly stop. So I decided to format the phone. There weren't many problems after that. but after a while it started getting slow again, but slower than the first time. One day almost every app closed and "LG Home" would close, it would give me some kind of error. I turned it off and tried turning it back on, but that's when I got that error. At first i thought my phone was bricked, i still sort of do, so I tried several methods. I can only turn the phone on in download mode, and my computer recognizes it as an android device.
At first I had some problems because i couldn't find my right .KDZ file, I used KDZ Update and I tried using LGFlash tool, but i can't find any of the files (.bin . dll) I need. I've also tried using the 2014 version of the LGFlash and used the LG Mobile Support tool, and nothing! They all take around 4 to 5 hours to finish!!! It never says there's an error or anything, none of them do! They always finish successfully, but the same thing keeps happening. Every time the phone reboots, it gets stuck on the LG logo and i get the secure booting Error!! What else can i try? Any suggestions? Am i missing something? All drivers are installed correctly and I've tried on windows 7, 8 and 10! Is there anybody who can help me? What do you think the problem could be? What causes the "secure booting Error!"??
