Hello everyone, I was able to unlock my bootloader and install AntonX Unofficial CM11. Now I got my sim unlock code from MetroPCS but when I try to access the unlock menu (2945#*769#) I got the error "Mobile network is not available." After going through very hard process to root and unlock my bootloader I don't want to go back to stock. Is there any way to enter the code on custom rom? Thank you in advance.

can anybody tell me if I will need to re-enter my unlock code on my t-mobile (with an o2 sim at the minute) after I root it and flash a custom rom?
The reason I ask is because I bought the phone unlocked so do not have the unlock code, so dont want to flash a custom rom if its going lock my phone back onto t-mobile!
I was unable to find anything on this subject by searching the forums.
Cheers
No, sim lock status is not affected by ROM flashing.
excellent, many thanks, let the rom flashing commence!
Hi, is there a way for me to retrieve the unlock code from inside my atrix, I'm currently rooted, CWM recovery touch installed, running aura rom 1.2.2.2 and unlocked to any carrier.
I want to know, just in case i want to return to stock I want to be able to unlock the phone by code and use it with any carrier.
Thank you!!!
As of right now that's not possible. Only way to unlock is to either pay for or ask your carrier for the unlock code.
Hi there,
I've recently got a new phone - Xperia Active.
It's locked to a Skinny Mobile Network as the packaging says "This phone will only work with Skinny Sim!". - I bought this from site similar to ebay. The phone is brand new - won in a competition.
http://skinny.co.nz/
I spoke to customer service who told me that it would cost $30 to unlock it but if i am with them for 9 months, it's free.
The questions I had in mind are:
1) Is it safe to flash a custom firmware on a 'locked sim network' phone?
2) What is the steps I have to take to flash a custom firmware i.e. expeacer's muiu or Real ICS ??
3) After 9 months i decide to unlock my phone (sim lock), would anything stuff up i.e if i stick another sim card in, the menu doesn't show up for entering the network unlock code.
Update:
checked my bootloader settings. It says: Unlock bootloader allowed: No

Custom firmware means a combination of custom Rom and custom kernel
1. You can only flash custom Rom's which have support for locked bootloader and I don't think you will get any problem with it (I'll better leave it for someone else to answer because I've never used a network locked phone)
2. As said above you can only flash custom Roms with locked bootloader and you can NEVER FLASH A CUSTOM KERNEL. You cannot use Roms which require their own custom kernel.
3. NO. you can stick up any sim after unlocking your phone with the unlock code your network provider (skinny) gives you . As your network provider said you can purchase the unlock code by paying 30 bucks or wait for nine months and get it from them for free. Either way you need a unlock code to use other sim cards.
and I'm sorry you can never use Roms which require custom kernels even if you have unlocked your network locked phone because your phone says "bootloader unlock allowed:NO" it means you can never use custom Roms like Cyanogenmod or other custom Roms which requires their own kernel to be flashed prior flashing the Rom .
To flash a custom kernel you need a unlocked bootloader and to unlock your bootloader your phone has to say "bootloader unlock allowed:yes" unfortunately yours says NO
EDIT: I learned that you could ask the network provider to change the bootloader status to yes after getting through the prescribed period of 9 months or after paying 30 bucks. After getting it to show 'yes' you can unlock the bootloader and flash custom kernels.
HIT THANKS IF I HAVE HELPED YOU!

Doesn't the phone have to be complete stock when you do the unlock code? Once you unlock the SIM and put your new SIM in then you unlock the bootloader and do your root. Not sure but it could be the reason.

Hmm. Im stock just rooted and bootloader unlocked. I dnt think that would affect the unlocking procedure. But then again, im unsuccessful so far. I will try to revert to complete stock. And try the code again. Also should i revert back to jellybean? Or kitkat fine?

I would think as long as it is stock the version would not matter.

ok. i downloaded an RUU file. legit and with matching MD5. when i run it it asks to update to 4.20.502.1 ....from my 4.18.502.7. should i stay away from upodating it to 4.20.502.1 ....or its ok?
update: i have reverted back to stock 4.4.2
i removed s-off and locked the bootloader. and RUUed the 4.4.2 update.
but i am still getting incorrect code.
so frustrating.
I'm in the same boat. All stock kit Kat. Unlocked boot and rooted. If I figure it out will post here & would do like wise.

Cellunlocker.net does a freakin awesome job!
I have purchased two unlock codes for my AT&T HTC One form two different companies - both were the exact same code. However, when I enter the unlock code it says it is invalid. I have unlocked the bootloader and changed the ID so I can install vanilla Android. Cold this be why it is not working? Should I set everything back to the defaults, restore the AT&T ROM, and then try to enter the SIM unlock code?

I am pretty sure the phone has to be stock for SIM unlocking. After you unlock the SIM you proceed to do the other MODS.

There's a stock AT&T ROM somewhere in the development section, backup current build flash the rom then use the code. when you successfully unlock it go back to recovery and restore your vanilla build. You will keep the unlock no matter what you flash.
