Bricked s2 and cant install samsung usb modem driver - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok so I bought a second hand s2 on a stock firmware then I flashed it with cyanogenmod 9. I then bought a mhl to HDMI cable and upon further info found out that cyanogenmod don't support mhl and apparently I needed a touchwiz rom, so I flashed a rom called chameleon and Viola my cable worked. I then looked into the multiwindow feature and decided to move to a rom with mhl and multiwindow support so I chose a rom called alliance rom. Everything seemed fine and then my data wasn't working for some reason, so I contacted my carrier (giffgaff) and they said they have blocked my data as the IMIE I have has been used before on multiple accounts for data abuse, I explained I have not done this but they said they would not remove the bar. I thought something was odd about this and upon further inspection I realised since I flashed my s2 my IMIE has changed to a weird 0049 number, I looked this up on Google and it says that this IMIE is a generic one and is caused by flashing sometimes. A lot of property seemed to have the same problem. As a solution to try and get my normal IMIE back I tried flashing back to a stock rom via recovery which has ended up bricking my s2 and I can't access recovery, only download mode. As this was the case I thought I'm gonna have to use Odin on the laptop to install stock rom but now I'm faced with a new problem. My PC wont install the Samsung USB modem, I have tried installing kies mini, installing the Samsung device drivers, installing pdanet al just to get the Samsung USB modem to install but it just doesn't. I've spent all day installing, rebooting, uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling to no avail. So now I'm stuck with a laptop that can't read my s2 and forced to use my Samsung mini for internet and Downloading on a data plan (lucky its unilimited). Can anyone help me. Thanx in advance.

Honestly, to get this done as easily as possible, try another PC (and use paragraphs; attempting to read what you've posted was nightmarish & I almost didn't bother).

[Q] Stuck on boot-up

I was restoring a ROM backup from a couple of days ago, when I rebooted my device it is not stuck on the black screen with 'Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1' written on it. I can gain access to the volume down + power button menu but I really don't know what to do, I have tried to wipe the data but that didn't work. Should I try to install another ROM or something? Please help, I got this tablet for Christmas and I'd be in serious trouble if it's broken after 1 month..
By the way, I am using the 3g model of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
I also forgot to mention that I tried to install the Overcome custom ROM earlier, I didn't think it was done properly so that's when I reinstalled ROM manager (installation wiped all my other data but I had it backed up on Titanium) and that's when I tried to use ROM Manager to try and get everything back to normal. Everything seemed to work fine until I restored the ROM and did a reboot.
Nobody has an answer? Please, I really need this
Use Odin flash a stock Rom for your device.

Stuck at the DOWNLOAD mode while the USB Connection Not Working

Hi. I have an i9100 Samsung Galaxy S II. After purchasing, I flashed and installed a custom ROM on it (CYANOGEN) and everything was working perfectly.
Suddenly, USB stopped working as a media (it is working just for charging). It was strange because whenever I connect this specific phone to a NEW computer, it sees it for a few seconds then back to unrecognizing it. I though this could be a SW issue, I installed a new custom ROM (cant remember its name) but the same problem persisted.
Recently, I decided to revert to the official Samsung ROM (obtained from sammobile). I first tried this on another i9100 device (which did not have any problem), and everything went smooth.
When I tried to do the same to my faulty device, ODIN recognized it (surprisingly), and when I started the process, it wiped my device, and afterwards it stopped recognizing the USB port (again!!!).
Now I'm stock at the Download Mode, but no computer can see the phone to install the ROM (installing any ROM at this stage would be great )
Could anyone please advise if there is anything I could do to get out of this trouble?
Thanks

[Q] Cannot make phone calls/ send text messages / use data.

My friend asked me to look at this phone that was softbricked and kept going to CWM recovery everytime it was booted. I updated the CWM to the latest touch version via ODIN then formatted the phone clean. :good: Then I flashed 4.3.1 stable AOKP ROM and the GApps. It was fine, everything else was working. I connected the wi-fi, used bluetooth, signed into google account everything was normal and stable.:highfive: But then I tried calling and it said "no mobile network". Tried sending a text, could not. I went in and searched for network signals then registered to the correct(I AM SURE!) one.:silly: Still no luck. Then I let it choose automatically. Nothing. Then I thought maybe installing another ROM will somehow fix it and flashed CyanogenMod 10.2 stable. Still no luck. I searched around for a flashable radio but could not decide if that would fix it because as far as I am aware if the radio wasn't working no wireless connectivity should've been either.
The phone is Samsung Galaxy S III GTI9300 white 16GB (unlocked) and has been here in Nepal with Nepal Telecom Sim since it was bought. I have no Idea how the soft brick happened but I think this guy tried to manually update the phone with a stock firmware during which some **** must've happened.
Can you guys please let me know if this could be fixed?
Any help would be highly appreciated.:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Bricked rooted Galaxy SII without CWM

Hello, let me describe my problem.
Some months ago i rooted my SGSII with stock rom to remove facebook and other unnecessary apps, but I didn't installed CWM. Yesterday I had a small accident. I dropped my phone on the wet floor and two problems occured. Power button didn't work and phone couldn't connect with network. After having dissasemblied and dried it inside, power button started working, but phone still couldn't connect. So I decided to make a full wipe. And here's come my problem. After wipe my Android 4.1.2 is able to go through initialisation process (language selection, wifi password etc.)
but after this it gets stuck and bootloop occur.
I tried to fix the phone using Odin, but after connecting to computer, it shows that device is unknown and Odin don't see it. I also tried to find way to install CWM via stock recovery, but it's propbably not possible.
Please, help me

[Q] i9100 wifi very short range

Hi all, my eldest kid's having a problem with the wifi on his S2 i9100 - the wifi used to work fine but has developed a fault.
The phone needs to be very close to a wifi beacon, ie within about 3 metres! So he needs to sit beside the modem to use it. I've searched but not found any solutions other than fitting a new motherboard, for now I've set up an old modem in his room as a network hub and wifi beacon, but any hints would be appreciated.
The phone is stock kernel, I had to fit a new screen some time ago but I've stripped it back down and double checked ariel connections.
Apparantly it was giving problems before the new screen was fitted - during the warranty period - but he didn't bother to tell me then!!
Re-flash the modem ODIN again

If no help, try to format every storage and flash back to the stock ROM.
If still no luck, get back to the SAMSUNG stock ROM it might help!
After all the try outs, if it still doesn't work, maybe the problem is with the Wi-Fi Antenna. You may need to replace it.
Just try to solve through flashing first!

It's not been modded, sorry I said stock kernel but should have said stock ROM (he won't let me root the phone!), have done factory reset and checked the Wifi antenna connection, the wire itself is unmarked with no sign of being trapped
TRY use ODIN to flash the stock rom again

back up first, and format everything (ROOT is recommended, full wipes are followed)
Try to use ODIN flash tool to install the original ROM, wish you all the best!
